Test Your Upper Body Strength and Endurance.

Push ups are a bit of a weak spot for me, but they are a great indication of how strong your upper body is. There is a simple test you can perform that will show you just where you rank. You can read the directions for this muscular endurance assessment and the ranking stats here. The test is for both men and women – watch today’s episode to see how well I did and then see if you can beat my ranking.

    Hi Zuzana, you have excellent form on your push ups. But I think your stats are somewhat wrong, because they are for women doing modified (on the knees) push ups and you are doing full-body push ups. So as you can see from these stats: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/guideposts/fitness/post/score.htm you are very close to excellent:) So congrats on your ranking. I just tried it and I squeeshed out 40, so i am happy dude.
    Keep up the good work with your training and webpage (and try kettlebells, they are great for overall, explosive strength and a super tight core:) )

    25 is fantastic. On that chart I noticed there’s the “women’s option” of performing the push up on a bent knee- if you used that option, no doubt you could pump out seventy! In Jillian Michael’s “Making the Cut” she lists 7 levels. 1 (very poor) and 7 (excellent). On her levels, 25 at age 27 is lvl 5 (above average).
