Boot Camp Circuit Workout 4: Sumo Push Ups

The sumo push ups are not that different from regular push ups. The only difference is that you are raising one hand off the floor. So you go down as close to the ground as you can with the chest, then push back up and quickly raise one hand. Repeat the push up and lift the other hand. This exercise is for your upper body, torso and hips strength. I don’t find raising the hand as hard as the push up it self, but all together it’s more intensive and it will give you a good base for more explosive push up exercises.

Best,

Zuzana.

This is a good variation. It makes the pushup more interesting.

    Hy Zuzana,
I just have to say that I never seen such a great fitness site like this one,I’m recommending it to all my friends, and trainers in the gym that I was going to were impressed by your exercises but a little disappointed because I decided that with your exercises I don’t need to go to the gym anymore :) !
I have a question; is it the same if I exercise twice a day (in the morning and in the evening) and have 3 day rest,or is it better to expand my exercises on 5-6 days? which is better and why? And is it cardio Tabata style for 20 min really more efficient than the one hour of running for example?
    Best,
    I.M.

    Heya Zuzana

I would just like to say u have really inspired me. I’m 15 and and naturally really skinny, and i have been trying to find good workouts that really help me for years now, finally i found this. I love the home bootcamp exercises, i think they are brilliant and i am really starting to see a difference in myself and all round fitness.

Thank you, your like a role model to me.

    Hi,

thanks for all the great fitness challenges. A quick question, I wanted to know what brand or fitness apparel you wear. I really like to find some of the work out tops.

    I.M.,

I’m not a fitness trainer or expert by any standard, but I’ve been doing a lot of research in the past two weeks or so and I believe that working out once a day, resting a day, and working out again the following day is better than working out twice a day and resting for three times the period that you would if you worked out once a day. Your consistently boosting your metabolism as opposed to boosting in, then letting it slow back down over the next three days. I also feel like it’s harder to stay committed, but that’s a personal thing. I personally like to work out once a day and then rest the next day.

And yes, the Tabata high-tensity interval training method is equally or even more effective that running for long periods of time.

I hope this helps you out!
    Josh
