Healthy Eating Goals: Plan clean meals.

Plan ahead so that you know what you are going to be eating. Leaving it down to the last minute when you are starving or in a hurry can make it hard to make those healthy food choices. Also if you know what you will be eating for each meal, it will be much easier to plan out your healthy grocery list, and you will be much more likely to have the right ingredients on hand when you step into the kitchen. Planning ahead also gives you the time to try new recipes, and experiment with new types of clean foods. Investing some time each week thinking ahead about your meals and food choices will help you reach your fitness goals that much faster.

    Zuzana Im so happy that you made this post.
    I highly recommend to get a small scales, measure cups and spoon, help a lot to learn how servings look like. Two lunch boxes, yes two. Big one for long day, small one when you out for few hours….. cute containers ( yep cute, you have to rock in style even with a small box:)) in all sizes. Joe Forman grill is amazing to have, fast to make chicken or fish and easy to clean…. small light plastic salad bowl, easy to clean and will control your serving..

    All ways do your dishes after you eat, help to keep it ready for a next meal you will plan to cook :)

    All of this thinks I cant live with out on my kitchen :)

    Hi suzana,

    test this recipe its good and clean food, i don´t know if you will like but it´s a good way when we don´t have time to prepare a complete meal:

    atun,cappers,celery,tomatoes,salt,olive oil extra virgen, lemon (juice of one lemon, ore half,your preference ),pepper,and one egg boiled (chopped), or white egg boiled. mix every thing and eat with a two bands of whole brad and to acompany a good fresh letucce salad mixed with kiwi ( chopped ), seasoned with olive oil, salt, and a little bit of lemon.and thenif you prove,tell me if you liked or not.
    Enjoy!

    What are clean meals? I am new to this and would like to lose about 100lbs in the next 18mos. Is that do-able?

    • Hi pioneerwannabe, it is do-able if you loose 1-2 pounds each week. Clean eating is a lifestyle and clean meals are prepared from natural sources of protein, carbohydrates and essential fats. Clean foods include vegetable, fruit, meat, fish, nuts and seeds, whole grains, eggs, olive oil, low fat dairy products, legumes, etc. Check the clean eating magazine for more information.

    Hi Zuzana I’m Katie and I recently discovered you while searching for new workouts on you tube. First, you have seriously inspired even more to start living a healthier lifestyle. I love your workouts!! They work amazing I am already in shape and have seen visible results. I was wondering if I could have some more information about psyllium and I tried the homemade protein shake and love it. Would you say it is ok for a woman to drink one of those in place of breakfast or lunch everyday? Or is it too much protein? I really don’t want my muscles to bulk up so I want to make sure I’m not putting too much protein into my body.

    Hi Zuzana,

    I found your videos through Youtube and they are really well-made and cool!

    I actually was wondering if you could help me with a weight/fitness-issue. I have started exercising regularly now (used to be very random with exercise), doing strenght training(fitness-dvd, for example Carmen Electra’s 30min Full Body workout)/pilates usually two times a week and then I jog couple times a week. I also stretch always when I have a spare moment/watching tv. I have noticed that my body is already a bit more toned, but my weight isn’t going down at all – actually I weigh 3 kg more than couple months a go! I’m 174 cm tall and my weight is 70 kg. My goal is somewhere aroung 58-60kg. Is it possible??? It seems like anything I do doesn’t work…

    I’m a vegetarian and eat lightly, but I’m wondering is the problem in my nutrion od exercise-routine, or both? I know I can increase the amount of exercise, but i feel that even with this amount I’m doing now, I should see more results in my weight loss.

    Please help me, I’m coming desperate…

    thankyou for responding boss.
    The above information helped me.

    I want to ask another thing please, will it be good if we exercise 1 hour after having meals or snacks?
    or is it that we have to give a break minimum 2 hours after eating?

    I wanted to share a clean and fun party recipe with you!! This time of year lots of people are inviting us to BBQ’s and such, and it’s so hard to eat clean when at a party or BBQ. Because we do stick to our healthy eating plan, most people don’t realize my son and I get sick from junk foods, and we get pressured when at BBQ’s and such to eat the “goodies” offered. The biggest thing I get nagged to eat on when at a BBQ is the chips & cheezy dip, so I searched alternatives we could share with others and enjoy ourselves. I found a recipe a while back that sounds gross, but It’s so healthy, more amaizing than the salsas I’ve found, and i’ve never met a person who didn’t love it. I dip raw veggies (especially carrots) in it, but it is great with chips or toasted sprouted grain weggies too. It’s the perfect snack to have a couple of hours before dinner is served.

    WHAT YOU NEED:
    20oz. Cottage Cheese
    1 large avocado
    1 lime
    2 or 3 green onions
    1/4 tsp garlic dices or powder
    1/8 tsp pepper
    pinch of salt

    DIRECTIONS:
    Mix Cottage Cheese with smashed avocado in a bowl, then squeese fresh lime juice in with it. Mix chopped green onions, garlic, salt, and pepper in bowl with the cottage Cheese, lime, and avocado… MIX, & enjoy!!
    ~Takes about 10 minutes to make~
    ~~~The dip has less than 600 calories for the whole thing (depending on what kind of Cottage Cheese you use)~~~
    Planning is the key isn’t it.
    For many years, I relied on my excellent husband who spoilt me by shopping, preparing and cooking all the meals. I only put on 6kgs and that did not seem too excessive until I saw myself in a swimsuit. Not good. I now have politely and firmly taken over these three important tasks and have lost the 6 killer kilos (took six months believe it or not). Husband is still chubby but then I love him and will support him when he is ready to change.
    Love this site and will tell my friends!
    I am wondering about coffee and tea. If I start into an exercise program can I still drink these 2 drinks or should I avoid them?
  22. Chad says:
    I have seen 2 great breakfast ideas on your site, but do you have any other. I would like to develop a weekly menu and put on my fridge.
  23. Chad says:
    Zuzana:
    Sorry for 3 questions in a row. Perhaps I should have combined them. I watched a video of yours on youtube where you made a simple protein shake. My question is if you were to eat, say your simple cereal recipe ( quick oats, soy milk and salba ) would you still drink a protein shake or are protein shakes more like a meal replacement?
  24. Chad says:
    Zuzana, are you around to answer my last 3 questions?
    Hi, Zuzanna
    First of all congrats on some excellent workouts on here! You clearly have a lot of motivation going by your amazing body! I personnally find it hard after work but i battle on and get the workout done but sometimes i just cant face it! Anyway back to my question, do you used any supplements such as protein powder? Do you recommend any supplements that you use?
    Ally
    • Hi Ally,
      I don’t use any supplements except Lecithin, Acidophilus and some vitamins – which are not the typical fitness supplements like fat burners or protein powders. I recommend to eat healthy clean diet and follow the very basic diet rules.
