I know this is super old but I just read it! Over the past few months I've really made some big changes in eating clean. Now I only skip out on it when I eat at some of my favorite Mexican restaurants…haha. But that's usually only once or twice a month. I buy my groceries at a local store that sells almost all organic food and NEVER spend more than $50 a week. This week my groceries were $23. That includes fruits and veggies, cheese (I'm never going to give that up, but have started using it more sparingly), organic fish, Greek yogurt, etc. My go-to meal is quinoa + a bunch of veggies + some cheese + spices. I buy the quinoa from the bulk bins so it's insanely cheap, and I always keep some frozen veggies on hand in case the fresh ones don't look good that day, or I can't make it to the store on time. Having those two things ensures I always have a healthy, tasty meal available that only takes 10 minutes to cook! My breakfasts are usually composed of a smoothie made with spinach, Greek yogurt, frozen fruit, and bananas, but when I need a break from that I can still eat those things unblended and have two small breakfasts instead.

Anyway, eating clean doesn't have to be expensive. Eating clean for me has resulted in me spending a lot less money on food. Fast food and eating out at most places isn't even appealing anymore, and when I do eat somewhere I like that's not particularly healthy, I crave raw, plain veggies. Fruit, veggies and nuts are more filling and less expensive than chips or crackers, and for me cheese is enough of a treat (I just love cheese, all different kinds! It might be my favorite food) to where I don't desire things I used to, like chips and dip or even sugary snacks.

I also found out last night that my chocolate craving completely went away when I drank some grapefruit juice. Weird! I'll try it again next time to see if it really works. I only buy juice that's 100% non-concentrated juice, like Simply Orange and others, with no added sugars.

Anyway, that went on a little long but I just wanted everyone to know that eating clean does not have to cost a lot! Anyone can do it!
