    Hi Zuzana,

Not really related to this video in particular.. but.. if I wanted to add in cardio on days of resistant training. Is it better to do it before resistant-training, or after… or does it even make a difference?

    Thank You.

    Zuzana,

Thank you for all your wonderful work! Your videos have been inspiring and helpful. I have suggestion: On your workout videos it would be a big help if you wrote on the page the number of reps and sets you perform. I watch your videos several times to make sure I have the form right, but I sometimes forget how many reps you are performing and how many sets. It would be great if that was just written on the page.

    Just a thought.

    Thank you again!

    Dave

Hi Zuzana I am not sure were I can find your e-mail so I can e-mail you and ask you the questions I have to in private but I do have a question about this Whey Protein I am using. I am not sure if it is the right one for me it is called Professional Strength Whey Protein and I am not sure if it is the right one I am using it say’s something about “ NOTICE: Use this product as a food supplement only. Do not use for weight reduction.” I am also just starting out in the gym I have been working out at home nothing much just dumbbells. Will this make me loose weight? I saw this other stuff called “Six Star® Professional Strength Mass Gainer” would that make me bigger and put the pounds on me? I hope you can help me oh and I subscribed to your website. Hope to hear from you soon bye for now Zuzana.

    • Hi Martin, I can’t give you advice about supplements, because I avoid them. I personally believe that you can get enough of protein and other nutrients from real food. I do respond only through comments on my site. Thanks for writing me.

  14. Martin says:

Hey Zuzana thank you for replying and I understand you do it the natural way that is really good. I am taking the supplements but I was wondering if you could still help me reach my goal of getting bigger and buffer. I would really like your help if you could guide me to get to my goal kind of be like my personal trainer online. I looked at your clips on you tube and on your website and wow there are so many but they are so effective just don’t know witch once are right for me to get that look I want. Plus I am going to the gym just joined like I said about 3 months ago I am going 3 nights a week and having the weekend to rest I don’t know if I should be taking a two day rest or not. I also think I am to skinny weighing in at 170 I am not the hard core workout guys but I will push my self to work harder and lift heaver weights could you help me even though I am taking the supplements? I hope to talk to you soon.

    • Hi Martin, I am not offering personal training online, because I barely have time to respond to comments on my site. I also focus more on general conditioning and fat loss then body building so what I can recommend for you is to get the book by Pavel Tsatsouline: Beyond Bodybuilding. It’s a great book, I have read it and there are many things you should learn and consider if your goal is to build big muscles that are not just for show, but also strong. I hope this helps.

  15. Martin says:

Hey Zuzana thank you for the reply that does help but like I said I just started out and I see a lot of your clips and I was wondering what would be best for me to get toned and get defined. I am just starting out and I was wondering if you could set me up with a few of your clips to guide my way and I know your extremely busy lady with your website and workouts could you help me and suggest some workouts for me.

  16. CL says:

    Hi Zuzana and Frederick,

I wonder if it wouldn’t be a good idea to post next to Leave a Reply something like “Have you read the FAQ?” or “Please read the FAQ before asking a question”. All inquires are important and someone beginning to workout for the first time will have lots of questions and they will seem unique to them, but you only have so much time in your day.

    Just a thought.

    –Chris

    • Hi CL,

people ask me the same questions that I have already answered in F.A.Q’s already and I always point them to read it, so it would make sense and I would save a lot of time, but there are still some who will keep asking, because if you are knew to something, it just takes some time to get it and to fully understand. I think most of the time people already know the answer before they ask, and they just want to make sure.

  17. CL says:

    Hi Zuzana,

See this is why I like your site. You and Frederick have a very good viewpoint on exercise and life. It helps to have a sense of humor and a good amount of empathy. I would never think a person knew the answer and was looking for supporting advice. 8-)

To make it clear I don’t think any question is silly and your FAQ does a good job at answering many of the questions a beginner might have. It’s really important to understand one’s body and especially where pain is coming from whether you’re working out or not.

It’s good to have workouts designed for beginners, but almost any of your workouts could be used by a beginner if they either reduced the weights or reduced the bodyweight or reps. And that a warm up and cool down is really important. Some people try to skip these parts of a workout and that is where some soreness comes from.

An example of reduced bodyweight would be doing a push up (press up) from the knees till your upper body and abs are strong enough to do it from your toes in correct form (butt in line with the rest of the body).

Anyway, thank you for your work,
    –Chris

  22. Rob says:

Great site and great workouts! I don’t have a great connection, though, so if you could post a list of all the exercises/reps in the beginner’s workout, I for one would really appreciate it. Again, great site – thanks!

  23. Justin says:

It may be a little late to respond to your Martin but YES weight gainers will make you gain weight but not much else. They are full of sugar, one scoop can contain as much as 64g’s of Carbs and most weight gain products advise 3 scoops a day!

That’s minimum 192g’s of carbs a day not too mention the other carbs you’ll get from food…

Save your money… Just buy things high in sugar, it’s really the same exact thing.

And boy oh boy will you gain weight if you consume a lot of sugar :P

  24. Kasia says:

Hey Zuzana! I’ve got a question. Does these exercises make you lose weight quite fast? Thanks in advance.

  25. Desiree says:

    Hi Zuzanna!!!

  26. I’ve been checking your blog for a while now, seems like everyday I learn something new :-) Thanks
