Recipe For Whiskey Grilled Pork And CousCous

In this video I am showing you how I prepared a very tasty lunch when we were on our little vacation at the cottage on Simco Island. We had an amazing time and enjoyed every aspect of our getaway including delicious meals and even an occasional white wine spritzer ;)

Watch this video to see how I made The Whiskey Grilled Pork and CousCous. Here is a recap of what you will need for this recipe:

450g of pork tenderloin

Marinade:

2 table spoons of whisky

2 table spoons of Worcestershire sauce

2 table spoons of raw can sugar

1 table spoon of ground cinnamon

salt and pepper

You might want to make a double serving of the marinade to make sure that the meat won’t get dry on the grill. You can also leave the meat in the marinade over night in the fridge if you want to boost the flavor and then use the extra serving of marinade to paint on the meat while it’s grilling.

CousCous recipe:

1 cup of water

1/2 cup of couscous

1 table spoon of ground turmeric

2 table spoons of fresh herb - coriander

1/2 cup of mixed beans, chickpeas or green pease – your choice

You can also add fresh chopped tomatoes and garlic. There are many ways that you can be creative with the couscous.

Enjoy this delicious meal, but  don’t let your taste buds take over – keep your portion sizes small.

Best,

Zuzana.

HE TALKS!! LOL. I love couscous! I mix a small portion of it with brown rice and ranch beans. Your recipe sounds delicious, but it’s not something I would eat because I don’t eat meat nor take alcohol in any form. However, I was wondering if the bourbon gives it some flavor or does the cooking process eliminate it? I usually add tumeric to my rice, never thought of trying it on couscous-so I will this evening. Thanks for sharing.

Turmeric is ridiculously good for you (prevents cancer and will even cause existing malignant cells to kill themselves, insane!) and is so tasty in almost anything! Thanks for this recipe Z, it sounds fantastic!

    Hi Zuzana!

I have a question regarding nutrition in general that I have not yet seen anything on your website about. I am wondering what your take on cleanses are? I have heard a million different stories about how good they are for you and how everyone needs to do them, but personally I don’t think I could go without food entirely just to flush out my system. However, I am curious to see if you have done any research on this and what your opinion is since you are so health conscious yourself. Thanks!!!

  12. Jacquie says:

This is in response to Kara’s question. I’ve read up on cleanses and even tried one once. The main ingredient is fiber which was to help bind toxins in your colin and flush your system. One other pill was to produce more bile which stimulates the liver. Personally, I only got half way through since my stomach hurt so much (and I went for the mild cleanse). I’m now on my first week of eating clean (not perfect, but doing well with it, still learning). My stomach has never felt better. I attribute this to less meat in my diet, more fiber, and less processed food. My system seems to be flushing lots of stuff…more than when I did the cleanse. The point of eating clean is to eliminate toxins from your food. If you do not injest toxins, there is less to flush out and your body doesn’t have to work so hard. I do hear about fasting, but I can’t seem to rationalize it yet since we’re always told to eat every few hours so your body doesn’t go in to starvation mode. My suggestion – eat clean and you’ll be better off than putting your body through extremes.

Hi Zuzana!!1 I like this workout but I don’t have a clubbell. Can you recommend me another equipment? I love your shoes …. can you tell me what kind of tennis do you use?

  14. Ryan says:

Thank you for the recipe Zuzana! I have just recently found your website and really like it. Your workouts are intense! Good for you. My girlfriend LOVED it too.

This is for TEXAS CINDY – The alcohol is cooked out of the Whiskey, so yes, it is added for the flavor.
