Ab Torture Workout 3/5

Now that you have completed part one and two, move directly to the third part of this workout with a very short break in between. You might want to catch your breath, have a sip of water and get hydrated, but don’t rest too much. It is important to keep moving forward and keep your heart rate up through out the entire workout. Start off again with 100 skips with your jump rope and then kneel down on your exercise mat and grab your clubbell (or dumbbell, medicine ball, etc.). I think that this exercise deserves a cool name, but lets call it the kneeling paddle for now. Keep your knees hip width apart, your hips off of your feet and point your toes. Grab the clubbell (watch my grip in the video), and try to reach the barrel (wide end of the clubbell) as far  down as you can towards your toes without touching your feet with your hips. Remember to keep your back straight and keep your abs tight at all times to protect your lower back. Try to complete 20 reps of this exercise at a good pace.   This exercise is a great workout for your back, arms and core muscles. To sum up what you will do in this part of the ab torture workout: 100 skips, 20 kneeling paddles on the left side, 100 skips, 20 kneeling paddles on the right side, and then repeat the whole thing one more time.

Enjoy!

Zuzana.

Good you say about having only a short rest so that the hartrate can stay up. Lot of people in Gym start talking in between workouts, and forget that social time is AFTER workout time. I do all my training at home these days, but not everyone can do that..

Hello Zuzana, i love your videos, they r so helpful and thank you so much for sharing them and also all your important advices. I have a question. What do you do when u wake up in the morning? Do you eat your breakfast first and then work out? or the opposite? Because i have read somewhere that the best workout is when u wake up in the morning and u dont eat anything so u can burn the fat… is it true? because i do this every morning and i hope it is not wrong… THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

    Hi Zuzana,
Great video! Is there any cardio exercise that I can do at home besides jump rope or jumping jacks? Any cardio workout that has less intensity on joints but as effective as jump rope?
    Thank you in advance!

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv/ Zuzana – BodyRock.Tv

    Hi Olga,

The Rock Your Body workout is a great cardio workout with less impact on your knees. If you have a bad knee, then don’t push too hard and go just al low as you can. If you feel any pain in your knee, then stop the exercise. Working your legs with medium weights for a lot of reps and minimum rest between sets is an excellent cardio. I explain more in my frequently asked questions – what is the best cardio that you can recommend.

    Hi Raina,

there were some researches that suggested that we should be working out before breakfast in order to burn more fat. Then there were other researches that have shown that we should have our breakfast first so that we wouldn’t loose muscles. I am not an expert or a scientist, so I decided to listen to my body instead of trying to figure out who is right. I can’t workout before my breakfast most of the time. Sometimes but rarely I have a coffee and my workout right away, but mostly I have a light meal and then I wait about an hour to have my workout. The most important thing to me is to feel good and see results. I wouldn’t want to workout when I am starving even if I could burn 100 more calories and neither with a full stomach.

    Hi mannix,

When I have done the standing “paddle” I used two 5 pound Dumbbells at about the same distance appart as Zuzana would hold the Clubbell.

    I hope this helps,
    –Chris

    Hi Zuzana,

I don’t know where should I go on this website and ask you question so I am posting it here and hoping you will see it and reply it.

I am following your workout routines and getting great results and I sing your prasies all day long to my friends, family and collegues. But I am dying to ask you, please tell me excercise by which I can burn up my double chin. Or are there any excercises which target that area, any workout which help me to get rid of my double chin? I know it is hard to target one specific part of your body but I also know that in Zuzana’s world nothing is impossible. Please help.

    Hi Zuzana,

For the last month I have been combining weight training with cardio, and noticed that I am finally starting to lose some weight, which I am increadibly happy about. However, unfortunately, my breasts are becoming smaller too. I loved my breasts as they were :-) Are there any exercises that can make them slightly bigger and, hopefully, firmer?

    Thank you.

  • Kamillzyna

zuzana, how long did it take for you to get your six pack?

    Hi Victoria,

I’m a guy and maybe shouldn’t talk on this topic, but what the hey…

    Breast are mostly fat.

Exercise will start reducing your breasts eventually. You can develop the pectoral muscles that underlay the breasts and this will push up your smaller breasts and make them appear larger and firmer. So you see there are exercises that firm breasts, but non that actually make them larger. Adding more fat to your diet will help keep your breast size, but will also keep fat elsewhere on your body.

Other solutions to this exercise reducing breast size problem are things like implants and surgery.

    Best wishes,
    –Chris

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for your reply and very detailed explanation. Would it be cheeky if I ask if you know any exercises that target pectoral muscles?

Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Hi mannix,

You’re welcome. I look forward to Zuzana having more time after their move so she can post more here.

I got to admit I miss her insights already in such a short time.

    Best wishes,
    –Chris

    Hi Victoria,

Bench Presses of various kinds are what isolate the Pecs. You can use a Barbell or Dumbbells and you don’t actually need a bench to start doing them. If you want big Pecs heavy weights and low reps are the ticket.

But, if you haven’t been doing them try lighter weights and work up to heavy ones and I suggest using Dumbbells over a Barbell at first. This will make any difference in strength in your arms immaterial in the workout.

So to be clear you use your workout mat and if you do have a bench use that. In this exercise you lay on your back and press upwards with your weights and there are various positions you can try with arms and inclined, declined and flat bench postions as well as flys instead of presses…you might checkout online for these details.

And you might reasonably ask what bodyweights exercises work the Pecs? Push ups!

I’m currently trying to increase the number of Push Ups I can do so have been doing two or three every time I go thru the kitchen doorway. This doesn’t make me tired but works that are a lot during the day.

    Hi Zuzana and all,

Just found this site not too long ago. One of the best fitness/health sites out there. Thought i’d seen it all, but i’m impressed by the professionalism of the advice and a few bits of humor and wit! Learning a lot! Thanks.

    Hi Chris,

Thank you for listing examples of the exercises for the Pecs. I loved your idea of doing 3 push ups every time you went through a kitchen door! I implemented it 2 days ago and I can already feel it in my muscles. It works perfectly for me. YouTube was also a great source of info.

Thank you for taking time to answer my question while Zuzana was busy with the house move. I miss her comments too :-)

    With Kind Regards,

    Victoria
