Hi!
I read as well that Salba was actually chia seed but there are still some debate whether both are strictly identical or not.
I did some research and it looks like there are the same honestly (same great health benefits) except that Salba is more scientifically justified - it has a patent...But is much more expensive.
I tried Salba since I read this article and just love it, but may change to chia seeds (for financial reasons)

I am so happy to have discovered this super food thanks to you! You just feel so good when you know that you are helping your body to be healthy!

I just found Salba on sale at the Vitamin Shoppe last night. I paid $15 for it! I got the pre ground kind. I like that it doesn't have a taste. It has helped my digest as well.

Thanks,
Feather

I just brought a box of whole wheat & Salba Penne from Superstore (Ft. McMurray, Canada).

Ingredients list. Durum whole wheat, ground Salba (Salvia hispanica L), niacin, folic acid, ferrous sulphate, riboflavin, thiamine mononitrate. May conatin traces of egg.

Nutrition fact as per the box:

85g(300ml) dry pasta = 310 calories, 3g fat, 5mg sodium, 58g carbohydrate, 9h fibre, 3g sugar, 13g protein.

I paid $1.49 for a 340g box which I think is exactly the same price as regular pasta.
