BodyRock.Tv For Haiti

Hi Guys,

We wanted to dedicate this post to the relief efforts underway in Haiti, and to show our support for the people there. We would like to invite you to join us by making a donation to the Red Cross organization that has been providing much needed help to ease the suffering in Haiti. Any amount helps and if all come together as a community, even donations of just one dollar can have a tremendous impact. We have posted our donation receipt for the Red Cross and we would be very happy to post other receipts from the community here so that together we can encourage others who visit this site to give. If you would like to join us by posting your receipts, send us a copy to info@bodyrock(dot)tv

We will be back tomorrow with this weeks new workout theme.

Best,

Zuzana and Frederick

I think it’s great that you took the time not only to donate but to urge others to do the same. I don’t have a receipt to send, but I did text Haiti to 90999, which makes a $10 donation to the Red Cross. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by this.

  • Mickela

    Hi Frederick and Zuzana
I donated to doctors without borders, they are also doing a great job in Haiti.

I think every little bit helps.

    Hey Zuzana,

We have as Roseline, made our transfer through an sms text to a Dutch number that is giving money to UNICEF which will be used to help the children in Haiti.

I think it is terrible. That country really did not need any more trouble.

I do take issue with the way the media has gone about filming and photographing bodies. These are human beings and they deserve some form of respect and should be left in peace. I know many will say that this makes other people want to give more money. I say that when September occurred there were undoubtedly many macabre scenes of mangled bodies or whatever and the media did not even think of exposing those people or their families like that. Nevertheless there was still support throughout the world. People did not need to see naked dead, in macabre positions to feel inclined to help out.

I wish the media would be a bit more decent about this.

Peace to you all. And this post attests once more to the good people you and Frederik are.

    Greets,

    Carla

I just sent a text to the 90999 Red Cross to donate $10.

Tomorrow I’m going to wear a piece of duct tape on my shirt that says “TEXT HAITI TO 90999 TO DONATE $10 TO RED CROSS”

I am in college and I have 5 classes tomorrow so I will be exposed to many people :)

    Wish my efforts good luck!

You guys are awesome for doing this! Great job on life!

    Love, Nicole

  • Debbie

I also gave online yesterday. To the Red Cross.
The Canadian government is matching the donations, so come on people, Even 5 dollars will help.

  • Lisa

It’s great to see everyone ban together to help others. My workplace is starting a money and clothing drive. We’ve collected $100 so far and a lot of baby clothing! Can’t wait for the new workout

  • alex

    Hello Zuzana

I just wanted to let you know, that it is so great to see you guys on bodyrock.tv stand up for a cause like this. I have made a donation my self, however it wasn’t for the red cross, it was for a local help organization here in Denmark, that takes great part in the suplying of food, water and medical care for the people in Haiti.

I think this is a great time to stand together and do something for those who really need it – therefore thank you for taking part in raising awareness!

Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that.

    Best regards from Denmark
    Kamilla

Ps: – thank you so much for providing this fantastic website also. I follow your posts every day, and I get alot of inspiration from watching your workouts. You have so many different ways of working out, and it relly helps me get going. – I even bought my very own PINK gymboss interval timer. Since I got it, it’s been so much easier for me to work out, because I thing working intervals is so much more excisting than stand on a tred mill .. – THank you for everything :)

    hey guys
well done, I’ve already done my bit a few days ago – here in the UK some of my friends use text messages to donate – each text is £5 so we just keep texing
like you said – any amount helps
if anyone from the UK would like to help here is the number – 70077 and you need to text GIVE

  • Anna

Yes! I made mine donation few minutes ago. It wasn’t that much, but I am still a poor student. When I went to red cross webpage, I actually started to become ashamed of myself, because I realized how selfish I have been. When have I ever been donating anything! I have been thinking that often, but rarely acted.

It is not just Haiti, but unfortunately Haiti was the one that needed to be victim to remind people once again. Obviously there are always people in need. Red cross is trying to help as many as possible in international level but also in national level. For example, where I come from red cross is providing shelter for youngsters who are suffering domestic violence.

So, now on I will remember to remember people in need worldwide and in neighbour.

  • Roxy

    Hi Zu and everyone!
Unfortunately I don’t have a receipt to send. But I did a donation trough a text message to one of the telecommunication and internet provider companies from Romania that has taken a series of measures in solidarity with earthquake-hit Haiti. Each text message means a 2euro donation. It’s not much, but every little bit helps!

    All my best.

  • Sandra

I don’t know how to attach my UNICEF receipt but I just donated $100 thanks to your urging.

Happy Aid is organizing a fundraising concert featuring four local Swedish bands in Stockholm and ALL of the proceeds will go directly to Doctors Without Borders (Medicines Sans Frontieres) – they are doing a LOT in Haiti right now. So if any of your readers are in Stockholm on friday evening February 19th, we’ll be in Boulehallen (Närkesgatan 6, Stockholm – close to Nytorget on Södermalm).

For more info you can go on http://happyaid.wordpress.com, we’re also on facebook.

I bought some hand-made mineral makeup, all the profits went to Haiti!

See the Haiti Relief section below
    http://www.etsy.com/shop/MixologyMakeup?section_id=5253812

She also normally collects money to sponsor 1 clean water well in an African Village through BloodWaterMission.com

Any way to give is a good way!

    (I hope links are permitted?)

    Hello Zuzana,
I just made my donation to Red Cross. Thanks for your call-up,cause I think a lot of people from this site will follow.:-)
    Have a nice day.

  • Eunice

    Hello Zusana and Frederick!
As an active girl I am often on your blog, but I am especially happy to visit it today because of this comment. I am from Haitian decent and I am very touched about what you are, and all the fans of your blog, doing for Haiti. Thank you again and stay fit,
    All my best

  • Mark S

Hi Zuzana! I’ve followed your workouts for a long time, and it’s great to see you working to inspire poeple to help out during this tragedy.
It’s no secret a lot of people like to watch you work out, LOL! So I had an idea that could raise some money, if you’re willing.
What if you offer to do as many pushups as you can with good form (or chinups, sit-ups, whatever), then ask people to commit some money for each pushup? Like, $1 per pushup or something? Ask people to commit to a pledge amount, and then make videos of you doing the exercises.
I bet it would be popular. People WANT to be generous and help out, sometimes they just need some encouragement :). I know *I* would certainly pledge. What does everyone think?

  • Sophie from France

Hi Guys, we were going to buy a new dishwasher but instead we gave the money to red cross, we guessed people in Haiti will need the money more than us

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv/ Zuzana – BodyRock.Tv

Thanks Vicky, that’s also a good way to help.

  • Vegan_Laura

We gave $50 to Americares thru my husbands work & they will double any donations so that makes it $100.

  • Audra Gatti

    Hi Zuzana & Frederick,

Just made a $75 donation to The Red Cross. Wish I could give more…

But anything helps, especially when you do something good like bringing the whole BODYROCK.TV community together to make donations for the Haitian people whom desperately need the worlds’ help ;)

    Love ya guys!
    Audra

  • Samantha

    Hi All

We pay £10 per month to the Red Cross as this happened to be the charity we chose to donate to last year (usually pick a different charity each year) – they are unsung hero’s who are the first to assist in times of crisis and helped so many people in the recent floods we had here in the UK. In fact if you log on to their site you’ll probably be amazed at how much humanitarian work they do.

I’ve also just donated to DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal by texting 70077 (from UK) – thank you Ania for the info.

  • Nilds

En este video Zuzana esta pidiendo a la comunidad de BodyrockTV que ayuden a las personas de Haiti por haciendo una donacion.

  • kayla

    hey,
I just wanted to say that what your doing is great, and that it makes me sad 2 see America treat it as a political thing instead of just helping cuz its the right thing 2 do.

Really nice that you are spending them.

Now i´m must speak withe mi parents about that.

    Hi Frederick, Zuzana and Everyone;

See this is why I love this place!

Also I like the idea of donating over time as they will need funds even after they get back to something resembling normal on Haiti. Part of the problem there has been the poorly maintained infrastructure and the lack of it period.

I think I will be donating 25 USD per month.

Take care and my best to all,
    –Chris

Queridos amigos de habla española, gracias por visitar mi blog. Me gustaría también invitamos a unirse a nosotros y hacer una donación para ayudar a Haití.

  • Tess

Thanks for using your site to promote Haiti. My partner and I donated $100 to the Red Cross and his work place is doing a fund raiser also. I heard a woman interviewed who was running an orphanage there and I cannot imagine the state of conditions there. She sounded so upset and terrified. It is heart wrenching. The relaity must be horrible.

Hey Great Post! My prayers are with the Haiti peopleThe Haiti tragety totally sadens me and my prayers goes out to them. ; I just donated to the Red Cross and urge you all to do the same too.

  • vijay

We have been collecting lots of stuff in our college to donate for people suffering in haiti. Its great to see that you are using blog to help ppl.

  • kimberliev

My family donated to a non-profit organization that are flying in doctors from the US, France, Germany and Switzerland to help out with the relief efforts. I think it’s great you are using your resources to encourage as many as possible to help out. Keeping in mind that Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere puts those who have an abundance under obligation to share with those in need.

  • Greg

I made my third donation, $20 to Red Cross Haiti Relief. Earlier I gave to MSF and to Unicef. I felt that my 2 earlier donations were enough but, I had to give again because you asked. I hope you reach your goal! :)

  • Pilar

hi, i would like to know how can i suscribe to your page… im having a hard time getting used to the new design of the website but it looks good!!! Greetings!!

  • Alina W

I texted 90999 to the Red Cross Monday to donate $10. I know it isn’t much, but just think if everyone in the world did that…..? That would be ALOT of money. I think in the U.S. there is a little over 300 million people so that would be $300 million just in the states! The situation is Haiti is quite a tragedy, but it’s amazing seeing and hearing how the whole world is coming together to help. Although it is horrifying, it is a wonderful thing that so many people are able to make a contribution in some way:-)

  • Samia

It’s great to see you guys bringing this up here! I am big on fundraisers when disasters like these happen because they need all the help and money they can get. I have been trying to raise funds online for MercyCorps (non-profit organization just like RedCross) as well through Facebook etc and have already donated…people who haven’t donated and are looking to donate could go here –> http://www.mercycorps.org/fundraising/sowmyapalam
It’s a one time donation and you can donate whatever is possible for you…so don’t hesitate guys.
They also have a huge list of companies that match the donations when the goal is met!

  • Samia

    Hey Zuzana and Federick,

I hope you don’t mind that I posted the fundraiser link…are they permitted? Should have asked before posting it…my bad!

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv/ Zuzana – BodyRock.Tv

We have nothing against posting these links. I haven’t seen your comment yet.

  • Vic

This is just awesome, What a response from everyone. It feels so good knowing that all of you are being touched by this tragedy.
There are so many ways to help even if you have no money, I like the idea of Nichole D. lopez of wearing a tape naming the cause and organization. Just the fact of exposing it encourages people to donate. I also love that Sophie sacrificed the new dishwasher for Haiti. Me? I will be going to the local red cross to make a blood donation, and talk to my wife and daughter into sacrifice something like Sophie did.
Suzana & Frederick my hat is off to you guys.

I believe I was born to massive impact in the world, a big change, an admirable memory perhaps.

Therefore I make this promise to you Zuzana, this people trying to help and all of those that need help… When my time arrives and I become an Undisputed World Champion, I will spend and do anything and everything to make, “The Change!” for once and all in this messed up world.

  • Jamie “The all American”

God Bless you Yisan! I feel the same way, and God Bless Zuzana also. I feel that when God (Jesus Christ) calls us to “turn and go” into the world. We are going to be able to save allot of people and give a lending hand to all those that are in need, and I just feel soooooo blessed to be healthy and strong to be able to show others great things and do great things through the world of fitness. God Bless=) And prayers go out to Haiti=)

  • Jamie “The all American”

    Hi, Zuzana

I just came across your videos on you tube and I like your set up. It’s very inspirational,… and the fact that you are beautiful also, lol! But, that’s beside the point=) I’m 25yrs old and my life is all about health and fitness and I’m trying to become a personal fitness trainer and posting training tips on you tube is an awesome idea! To help a bigger crowd of people. By the way I love your accent. I need to take a trip over the big pond to find my love, lol! I would be in love when she started talking, lol! Well, enough of that, back to the serious issue Haiti. I think it’s great that you took time not only to donate but, show support through your videos. I really like your vibe and I’ll try to stay tuned in. May God Bless you and your family=)

P.S. The Arnold (Schwarzenegger) Classic, March 5-7 at Columbus Ohio in the convention center. (Enter the world of fitness, YES!! Lol! =)

Who cares of haiti. America is in bad economy and why wont they help america first.

  • johanna

Just found your workout site tonight. I love that it’s simple, you can do it anywhere. Also, they’re tough workouts that look effective. I will give it a go. I’m no spring chicken any longer but I will do what I can.

I’m an American who’s been involved with Haiti before the earthquake. My favorite four organizations are
•Partners in Health (www.standwithhaiti.org) (Google Dr. Paul Farmer, his bio “Mountains Beyond Mountains,” 60 minutes. Excellent. Not only are they doing health care and training Haitians, they are working with Charity Water and Haitian farmers to ensure food and water is available.)
•Doctors without Borders (they go to the slums where many organizations won’t and don’t discriminate. They’ll be there after everyone else leaves.)
•WhatIfFoundation.org (Very small organization feeding a lot of people. Thousands, every day. Haitians cooking rice and beans for Haitians. No overhead.)
•Haiti Action.net (Haiti Emergency Relief Fund) (Political organization, getting food to the poorest of the poor, haitian to haitian) -associated with Danny Glover.

Some of the larger organizations don’t have as deep or connected roots. Haitians were bypassed in the distribution of aid. The above organizations were already in Haiti and will be there for a long time.

Please keep Haiti in your thoughts. They will need trauma recovery work. They psychological impact of this earthquake is immense.

  • lovelygirl

I know i’m kind of late but it’s really nice of you guys.. i’m haitian(i live in Canada) and i do have a lot of relatives in haiti.they were awfully affected by the earthquake.Nobody died but they are homeless and it’s stil really hard for them even after 2 months! We’re trying to bring a few of them in Canada!ANyway,i appreciate your support
