The Power of Exercising Today

Once more, let’s start things off with a comment from a previous article:

“Since it’s the habit that matters, I can work out tomorrow; today’s not a big deal by itself.” I finally got it right in my head that EVERY day, including today, matters. If I don’t find time today to push myself, then I won’t tomorrow or the next day either.”

Why Every Day Matters

Some of this stuff might seem obvious, but often times it’s the most obvious stuff that needs to be repeated — and drilled into our heads over and over — for us to finally adopt it.

Many of us construct an image of what we want to look like when we start working out and pursuing a healthy lifestyle.

This is really useful, as it becomes something we can continually refer to, while on the long road towards getting in shape. But at the same time that this image helps us, it can hinder us, too.

Especially when there’s a lot of weight to lose, the image we construct for ourselves can be so distant from what we are, right now, that it can come to have almost no bearing on our day-to-day lives.

Making a Connection Between Today and That Distant, Future “Me”

In other words, the exercise routine that we need to do, right now, today — can come to seem less important, because we simply can’t see how doing 20 minutes of strength training will possibly do anything towards reaching that body.

But of course, we know this isn’t true — every workout is as important as the previous one or the next one. Not every workout will feel as good, or come at that exact moment when we really notice a physical change in our appearance, but they all contribute, and since we can’t measure exactly what each workout does to our bodies, we might as well assume that they are all equally essential to what we want to become.

As soon as you accept this idea, then the only workout that matters, and the only workout that ever matters — is today’s.

Looking Forward and Looking Back

Sure, it’s crucial to look back at all the great exercise you did previously. We’re not suggesting living entirely in “the now” — there’s nothing wrong with getting inspired by how far you’ve come or how far you want to go.

But the key to achieving those goals is to live in the now when it’s time to actually do your workout. Too many of us project forward to the future, making plans and fantasizing about future bodies, or look back into the past, either with happiness or regret, and use these moments as ways to put off doing a workout today.

We’ve got no doubt that even our website — and we always want you to visit our website — can become a kind of “motivating distraction” that, if used improperly, can prevent you from working out.

It’s like all the productivity advice that really took off on the internet recently (often called productivity porn) — people become so fixated at looking at photographs of minimalistic desks, beautiful workspaces, and workflow secrets of the ultra-productive, that they forget to do any actual work themselves.

So go. Finish this article, and if you’re on here, searching around for motivation to get going — you’ve found it. Exercise. We’ll be here tomorrow, too ;)

Make Today Matter

It’s a cliche, sure, but sometimes we need cliches when we’re procrastinating on something essential. So remember:

There is only ever right now.

    Hi Zuzana,
When I think of not doing my daily workout or just feel lazy,I remind my self of a simple saying,” You get out of it what you put in” I put in ZERO EFFORT I get ZERO RESULTS PERIOD! The thought of looking like what I call the norm isnt a good one for me. I’m very down to earth and just like how I feel, look and the strength I have to do my everyday activities. Thanks for all the information you and Frederick provide. It’s much appreciated.
    MinnieV.

One more thing to ponder……… One of Newton Laws Of Motion is, “A BODY AT REST STAYS AT REST,A BODY IN MOTION STAYS IN MOTION”

  • Samantha

Hi Zuzana! This is exactly the kind of motivation I need, even if it is a little cliche. :) I keep telling myself “tomorrow” in regards to starting these workouts. I used to be in such good shape. I’ve already lost 40 lbs and now weigh in at 116 lbs. However, I do not want to be thin, I want to be fit! I used to work out tons as I used to box and loved what my body used to be able to do.
Getting myself to start will be the hardest part of all this. So I can use all the help I can get. Thank you for making this site!
    Best, Sam

  • mag

perfect! i will do it right now TIGHT SUMMER BOOTY WORKOUT! kisses zuzana and frederick you are my best inspiration! :)

  • Laura

Very inspirational and a right on time to reassure me of my committment, despite those who try to sabatoge my efforts to make themselves feel better. Thank you so much <3

  • Sue Ann

I can honestly say that I have been guilty of spending hours on your website soaking up the information, watching your great videos and wishing I looked like you! I can also say that as much time as I spend doing all of those things, I also have devoted the time to workout. This was not the case at the beginning but at some point and time, the AAH HAA moment did come and for that, I thank you!

  • deedee

thanks, for this article, this really helps me, because I am feeling stronger from when I first started doing your workouts about 8 weeks ago. I look forward to doing your workouts everyday when I get up, and your articles also inspire me to be consistent. Thanks so much your a great completion to my exercise routine mentally and physically.

  • Scott

This article… How true! And I don’t need to look any further than my own life to see that truth.

It is one thing to know what to do, to study the latest theories and research, to have tons of fitness and wellness information in your head, but if it doesn’t become action, it amounts to nothing. This describes me all too well. “To know, and to not do, is to not know.”

My obsessing and dreaming about the end product (a fit healthy body and overall wellness) has actually taken me further away from those goals, because I haven’t converted it to action. And, as ashamed as I am to admit it, this has gone on for years.

I’ve heard people say write down your goals and reasons for wanting to improve and then review them every day. While I see some value in this, I’ve come to believe that focusing on what I can do right know, and embracing the process, is what can work for me.

I’m still learning to do this. To go ahead and do even the smallest bit of exerise, then give myself credit. We tend to make everything so complicated, when the simple truth is right in front of us: everyone can only move ahead one step (one workout, one healthy meal) at a time.

The goals we have will come, but it never happens overnight or without effort. (Though we imagine it works that way for celebrities and athletes. But even for them, it comes with each little step forward – with each today.)

But as I said, I’m still learning.

All the best to everyone with your NEXT step, whatever that may be.

    Scott

Thanks guys:) I really liked that article because I have that conversation with myself almost everyday. When I want to take it easy or get discouraged because I can’t see my muscles yet, I have to motivate myself by saying “It’s worth it!” I may not see the change now, but it’s worth it. So thanks for always being motivators and inspirations.

  • Maja

well put. :-) thanks for writing that.

  • Dee

Excellent post. I am printing this one out!!

  • Kelly

You guys are awesome. I come here everyday and every day I find motivation. From Zuzannas fit body, to the inspiring comments from readers, to articles like this one written by Frederick. Thank you for existing. For repeating the obvious. For enabling us in a GOOD way, to dig deep and get going. A million times thank you.

  • Natram

    thanks for the motivation ;)

so glad for this post you did! I had no motivation today but knew I needed to work out. I didn’t want to do it inside or go to the gym because it was so beautiful out, so I started to think… what could I do in my own yard. Grabbed my interval timer, jump rope and 10 year old daughter and head out side. Her and I did 30 sec of jump rope, 10 sec rest, 30 sec of going up and down 12 stairs at the front of my house, 10 sec rest, then 30 sec of push ups and repeat. Towards the end I changed from pushups to squats and dips off the steps. It was awesome!! Usually I wouldn’t have pushed my self to do that, but if you can’t push yourself who can? Now after the work out I come to the website to see this, just what I was battling earlier and it makes me feel that much better that I did not waste today.

  • ilynna

love this article… puts things back into perspective. thanks frederick and zuzana

  • ilea

Wonderful article!!! You guys never disappoint.

  • Robin

    GREAT article.
And there is only one to blame for not doing your exercise, and thats you.
So quit all your excuses and get going.
Believe in yourself, and you will be surprised when you find out what you really can do.
And remember to “Never ever give up”.

  • janine

    Hi guys,
I really like your site and have been ussing your workouts for some time; I think u are fantastic!

    I have one question.

Do you prefer bodyweight workouts or using dumbbells ? I am thinking of quitting my gym in the town near me since it is very expensive, but I could aford to maybe buy some equipment like a pull up bar instead.

Can I get a body like yours Zuzana without using actul weights?

    Thanks!

  • Joaquin

    Hi Zuzana:

I love the work you do. It is one of the best websites

    Hi!

I found your website a little while ago, and have followed along on some of Zuzana’s workouts. I think you have a great idea here, and I’m very glad I found you. I posted a couple links to your site on sparkpeople.com (you might have heard of it – it’s an online weight loss community offering very sensible and completely free diet programs) so maybe you’ll get some traffic from there, if you haven’t already! I think Zuzana’s sensible approach will really appeal to a lot of people there, as many work out at home and don’t have access to gym equipment.

Anyway, thank you so much for posting such great information and advice! Your workouts are excellent.

  • Sarah

Halfway through this exercise I actually put on my sport shoes and started doing my workout. Very good article.

I wasn’t motivated to do my workout for the past two days. Not because I can’t see any muscles yet, but because of how torturous the idea of an exercise is. The post workout feeling is the best feeling in the world, but to get there, there’s always this hill that I need to get through, and it isn’t easy.

But I did it today and I’m glad =)

  • Ivana

    nice!

  • Cricket

Great coaching! On the topic of living in the NOW, I don’t understand the many questions about Zuzana’s past, her measurements, fat loss, marriage, etc. (I’m happy that she’s not bothering to answer.) Reflection on the past can be inspiring, and she has addressed it saying that she has achieved her goals with the power of positive thinking in her life. That’s enough info to share, I think…She is inspiring and motivating NOW, everyday… If she has always been slim and fit, will she lose credibility with some of you because she hasn’t had some big struggle as they always want to show on T.V. reality shows and weight-loss commercials? I agree with Frederick that people can get fixated on the details of others’ life stories and success and forget that they are creating their own story with every choice they make. I think Zuzana and Frederick are trying to get the message across, throughout their website, that everyone really needs to try to focus on and improve their personal best. Don’t worry about comparing yourself with anyone. Don’t worry about how many times you’ve missed workouts in the past. “Make Today Matter”. Create your own unique life success story! Each day that includes great choices on food, exercise, taking care of yourself in some way, is a success. String a bunch of those successful days together and they will contribute to that “future” you…the future is closer than you think when you get focused on your own details. Everyone has a unique journey. Take the time to read through Frederick’s articles and watch Zuzana’s informational videos throughout this website. Pick your workouts and make a plan. Move forward. Think forward. Sometimes we think that we need more…more time, more information, more details, more proof, more explanation, more stories, more discussion,…but sometimes these are just distractions and excuses for not getting started today. There is nothing to wait for, today is it. It’s all any of us truly have, so make it great using your own definition of greatness. Rumi: “Your boundaries are your quest.”

  • Adela

Ok. You caught me. I’m goin’ to do my workout.

  • Romain

thanxs for these super motivating thoughts !

You got a true zen-like attitude ! ( its not the goal but the way to it that counts – have the mountains summit in thought but focuse on every single step ahead ,to reach it – and enjoy that journey )

It’s not only your workout discipline but moreover your daily positive life-approach , which is the reciept of your accomplishments ! This enthousiasm is a motivation for all your fans and addicts – keep it going -lot’s of good vibes back to you , R.

I was just in that annoying lazy mood when I came across this article. It really came at the right time.I pushed myself and now I am very pleased that I did.
I must say however that I really liked it when Zuzana talked in the videos about different things while having her cup of coffee.I miss that.

This article is the most straightforward and truthful bit of advice I’ve read yet on working out. It is a truth I have come to realize just a few days ago. I have thus far had the absolute best intentions and have spent hours pouring over catalogs looking at the clothes I will reward myself with. Ans the best intentions watching your workouts and writing out a plan for the next day for my own workout. I have learned recently though that in order for me to get anything at all done, I’ve gotta get at it as soon as I roll out of bed, before I’ve had a change to reason with myself a way out of it! It’s very new to me yet, but each day I get it accomplished it’s another day toward making it a lifestyle change for me. Love this article!!

  • Frederick

I likes that too – we should start doing that again sometimes :)

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv/ Zuzana – BodyRock.Tv

    Amazing comment, thank you.

  • Amanda

Hi you guys. First off I want to say that you two are a blessing to all of us out here who watch you and learn from you. I thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to your viewers!
I have a lot to say, and wish I could email you directly because I don’t want to use up a lot of space under your comments section…but, I have to. I will make it short the best I can…
I use to be a fitness fanatic. Then I had a child. Still into fitness, but then I had a second child, and so on. Today I have a 12 year old, 8 year old, 3 year old and 8 month old. So, lets just say I don’t have the “time” or “energy” to do anything for myself. After watching your videos for quite sometime, I decided to put the baby in the playpen next to me, and the other 3 kiddos behind me doing the workouts along with me. Hard to concentrate that’s for sure! But, I’m getting some exercise in every day to every 3 days, depending on how much sleep I got the night before (with the baby).
My hardest challenge is diet. Finding the time to exercise is one thing, but eating a healthy diet is a whole nother story. My husband is a power-lifter and eats the worst foods imaginable to maintain a “big gut” for counter-weight while lifting. The rest of him is massive and solid due to hours in the gym and tons of protien powders!
He stacks our house full of quick-fix snacks loaded with sodium and “garbage”, the freezer full of frozen dinners (Costco style), the fridge full of condaments and dairy and processed meats. The counters are covered in breads, pies, pastries and his protien powder.

I get what I can far as veggies, but let me tell you, it is SOOOO hard to eat right when the man of the house is cooking not-so-healthy meals daily (even if I cook, he will come in and complain and cook a seperate meal; extremely discouraging)and everyone is shoveling pies and deserts in their mouths infront of me.
When he’s at work, I eat as good as possible, but I have breakdowns daily and find myself reaching for the “last slice of pie” or that jar of milk chocolate covered almonds.
Do you have any advise about how to curb my cravings and stay away from all the bad foods in my home? I can’t purge my fridge or follow any of the suggestions I have read on your site because my husband doesn’t spport it. He doesn’t support me in anyway far as trying to eat right. He thinks I’m crazy. Without the support of my husband, and no outlet outside of raising my children, I have no one to help me stay on track besides myself. I am not a good self motivator any longer after having 4 children, and being so worn down physically and emotionally everday. I barely get 3 solid hours of sleep at night and spend all day running around behind children picking up their messes, feeding them, cleaning their scrapes and bruises, breast feeding the wee-one, changing pampers, and just wishing I could have one moment of piece and quiet to myself.
I love my children and wouldn’t trade them for anything; but that doesn’t mean I want to keep going like this. I am 164lbs, covered in cellulite and varicouse veins, liver spots and now starting to wrinkle. I am only 32 years old! Before my 4th child (and last child!) I was 120lbs and had no cellulite, vericouse veins and only a very few liver spots. So, I do know that my health has suddenly started to take a turn for the worse after she was born.

Help me! Any advise you can offer to get motivated, stay motivated and eat better against the odds in my house, and rid myself of cellulite, and the rest of the unsightlies I mentioned, it would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much you guys!

  • Amanda

That is a beautiful comment! Way to go Cricket! I shall read it everyday until it’s stuck with me. And, I think you are right. Each person is their own, and each must begin their own “success” story without trying to compare themselves to anothers story. I am thankful that Zuzanna gives all of us out here what she does. And thankful that her Frederick is such an amazing guy to film her like he does! What a wonderful people :-)

  • Mary Liz

I’m so glad you posted this, Thank You! I have been having two things going on in my head about my fitness goals. On one hand I want to be in phenominal shape when I go to Florida in May. On the other hand, I’m enjoying “my time” in the morning while the world is sleeping i’m breakin’ a sweat jammin’ out to whatever tunes I feel like kicking my own arse to that day :D. I had the goal of getting into the lifestyle habit and enjoy working out each morning. I must have passed the 21 days because it’s habit now. I wake up before the alarm goes off, and for some strange and maybe even sick way… I cannot wait to go to bed at night because I am closer to that “time” of mine in the morning.

I think the important thing for me to focus on is my gettin up and getting a sweaty workout done each morning (Sans my rest day) – and just enjoying the ride. I have my diet going along perfectly. Good small frequent clean meals, lots of water, and no cravings whatsoever :D. So, I will deal with what I look like when I go to Florida when the time comes. This is a life style change and you’ve just motivated me to love the NOW, love the ride. My results are first and foremost the extra energy, positive attitude, confidence, and the list goes on… I am ready to let go of focusing on the physical results and really focus on this being a lifestyle for me not just a quick fix with an end in site kind of deal.

    Awesome Post!!!

I have some questions concerning this website.

What happens with one on one with Suzana ?

Also, after you said that you were creating a new website (a surprise). Does this site exists ?

Is creating a blog like this is enough to make a living ?

    Continue this great job.

I highlighted a line in my monthly calendar where I’m supposed to put the name of the workout I did that day. It works wonders when you have to fill it in every day. My calendar is at my desk, in my line of vision…
The only excuse I have of not doing a workout is when I do a hike or another physical activity.

  • samantha

Cricket – I love love love your comment.

  • Kathryn

This isn’t really related to this article, but I found it funny and don’t know where else I should post it. I was expecting an important call during my workout this morning, so to make sure I would hear/feel it I put my cell phone in my sports bra (it’s the only secure place, I don’t have pockets in my workout clothes) – well, my cell phone is shorting out now because of the pool of sweat it was sitting in by the time my workout was through. Kinda gross? yes. Still satisfying that I pushed it that hard? definitely.

  • Kathryn

I’m glad someone is sticking up for personal boundaries :) – and in such a tactful way. Thank you Zuzana for everything you share with us. I agree, we don’t need any more detail about your life to be inspired. As a very private person who’s not comfortable sharing my life with the public, I am very appreciative that you put yourself out there like you do. Don’t let us become intrusive :)

  • Nikasky

Thank you so much for this article. It came out exactly when I needed it. I am now working out on a regular basis but this is just the first step in my life plan. There are so many other things I want to accomplish. However, sometimes when I look at that huge “to do” list, my huge elephant, I feel like I may never be able to eat it. I feel like giving up and letting myself down yet again. BUT yesterday I was thinking about Zuzana’s attitude to her own goals and thought that when Zuzana gave in to have a little piece of chocolate in her 30-day challenge, she openly admitted it and started the challenge once again to complete it. She did not think of herself as failure, she did not compare herself to anybody else who might have been increadibly disciplined. She stayed positive and beleived in herself. I know that a little bit of chocolate is not the end of the world but isn’t it similar to what we all give in to sometimes – extra 5-30 minutes of sleep in the morning after the alarm clock had gone off, a guilty pleasure of a chocolate cake when you are on a diet, sticking to the computer screen when you know you should be doing your homework or writing that important report for tomorrow? I was amazed that Zuzana did not “punish” herself mentally but stayed positive and made sure she would be successfull the next time. She is a living proof that journey is more important than the goal itself. And the journey is what and how you think, your attitude to life, your everyday choices. IT may sound a bit like a cliche, but, as you said, we do need cliches sometimes to remind us of something important we forgot about. From today onwards I will start my own 30-day positive thinking challenge. I will try to think positively and adopt a can-do attitude to my daily challenges and routines. I know I will not be perfect and this is not my goal, I just want to be a better me.

So, to get me started, every evening before going to bed I will start visualizing my future better self. I will also say no to procrastination. The only guilty pleasure I will have for the next 30 days is visiting your website once a day for no longer than 20 minutes. Promise.

Guys, if you have any suggestions for someone new adopting a positive attitude, please could you post them here? It would be brilliant to learn the techniques that work for you. I know there are many books out there on this subject but just a simple advice from someone who successfully uses these techniques will be more valuable than tonnes of those books. I would be grateful for something really simple I can start with and then build on it.

Thank you so much, Freddie and Zuzana, for inspiring us with the choices you make every day.

  • Diana Y.

    Great article and great perspective…

Its always reassuring that there are tons of other people who feel this way and at the same time reassuring to know that kickin’ your own ass for dwelling on it is never a bad thing…as long as you realize it and move on!

Its a marathon not a roadrace!

  • Nix

    Brilliant article!

  • Mickela

Great to find this article. we all really need to encourage each other in a positive way, what cricket says is right on.
I came home and looked to see if there was a new workout, there wasn’t one. I almost said, well, if Zuzana didn’t post a workout that means I can slack.

Ten minutes later I started thinking about all the progress I have made and that I really am at such a great point, why ruin it.
I searched through your old workouts and decided to jump right into this one
    http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/12/29/15-minute-killer-cardio-challenge/
    I modified it a bit
    Jump lunges 10
    hanging leg raises 5
    half burpee 10
bicycle crunch 20 I finished with 9 rounds in 15 minutes plus my 2 pull ups.

you guys are so right, now is what counts.

  • http://www.janetspreiter.com Janet

Listening to what your body is really telling you is a difficult thing. I use my wake up pulse to see if it should be a hard day or gentler day. Unless it is noticeably high I go for the workouts because I always feel better afterwards. I really focus on how I feel as the workout progresses, especially if I am pushing it. This is especially true as I get older and injuries can pop up more quickly, simply due to the years of wear and tear. Avoiding injuries is crucial to older athletes! I love Zuzana’s brief workouts: I have been very impressed with the results over only a few months of such short efforts. So often I am not able to push as much in my other sports as I used to, and I find Zuzana’s workouts are giving me my edge back. That is all the motivation I need to do all the workouts you and Frederick so generously take the time to create and post. Thank you!!

  • Aaron

Couldn’t have said it better myself! If any of you know anyone who has fitness/image/weight issues, forward this to them. This article is subtle but to the point.

its funny how i was online searching for motivation on other websites, that this one actually made me feel good and wanting to get back into working out. whenever i need motivation, ill remember that it does matter to workout, it makes me feel better about myself, like i did something good today.

  • Cecelia

I workout every night about 30 minutes before bed, does that make my workouts less effective?
Is there a certain time of day that is best for working out?

  • Thep

I thought it would be appropriate to leave a comment under this topic. Hi Zuzana! My name is Thep and I am someone who has been struggling to be fit and healthy for a very long time! I am currently 24 years old, married, and a mother of a 9 month old boy. After pregnancy, the urge of wanting to look and feel healthy has been more stronger than ever before. I envy your motivation and your results. I am so glad that I found this website and I would like you to know that I want you by my side to help me bring a dream to reality.

    Hi Frederick,
Great article! I’ve gotten to the point where exercise is a necessity in my life, not just an option. My only choice is to exercise and be happy.

I believe that people become whatever they put their energy into. If you put energy into being healthy and happy, you become healthy and happy. If you put energy into being lazy, you will stay lazy and become unhealthy.

    Thanks for the motivation!

I love to workout everyday. Some days and at a certain time of the month I don’t feel like doing anything I feel slow, tired, and lazy. That is when I usually miss 2-4 days of working out. If I try to workout I usually don’t finish or I feel bad after the workout like in pain or just yicky and tired. I am wondering….
Zuzana as a woman do you ever have this problem at a “certain time” of the months? Do you have any suggestions for me?

  • Jessica

    Samka? is that you??!

Hey I saw your videos on youtube and decided to check out your site.. Besides your attractiveness, I decided to actually look at your body motions and how you did the exercises and attempted to preform them.. Some I simply could not because of my weight and size, but the ones I were able to preform ..Well lets just say I discovered new muscles in my body I didn’t know I had especially in my legs..
Anyway, I’m just writing to say your workouts are legit. No doubt about it. I’m definatly gonna slowly ,but surly ,follow your workout routine and try to one day at least make it to the 600 reps.. Thanks for the inspiration Im gotta get my flab melting away :)

Hello, I would like to know if all ( and I do mean every workout posted on your site from the beginning) are for men as well? Because I know there for women, thank you. Thanks for showing all of these free workouts as well, even if there just for women.

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv/ Zuzana – BodyRock.Tv

Why they wouldn’t be for men?

  • melissa

Thanks for the great motivation! I just found your website today after seeing a video on YouTube, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Clicking on this article is just what I needed to get going.

All the time I catch myself putting off a start to a regular exercise habit. Because of good genes and a decent lifestyle, I feel like fitness is just around the corner, like I only need to work out a little bit before I could be back where I want to be. So saying “tomorrow” doesn’t seem like a big deal. Except that I’ve been saying it for a few years now. Years!

Your words have inspired me to change my mantra to “today.” “Make Today Matter” signs are going up around the house. By the end of April, I hope a new healthy habit will be firmly in place. Thanks again!

No matter the age or gender, Remember these words “I can” Burn it in your hearts and minds. All of us can encourage each other but when no one is around, remember these words. It helps to beat the impossible! Rock on! Good Job Zu….

I love this quote. Thanks for putting it up.

    Zuzana,
I’ve been browsing through your website again and trying to get back into exercising. I like the fact that you prefer full body workouts that incorporate both cardio and strength training. Two for the price of one is always good in my book, BUT, will this be too taxing on my body. I’ve always read it’s best to give each major muscle group atleast 24-48 hrs to rest because you have to rebuild the muscles. Well the full body workouts seem to have done wonders for you and you say you don’t believe in “off” days to just go sit around being a couch potato. What do you think? Have you read this before?

  • David I

We do one of your routines every morning before work.
I cannot do all the execises. My knees are ruined and cannot take high impact, so it would be nice to see a low-impact routine.
Keep up the good work and thank you for your inspiration!

  • David I

Just do what you can breezy. I was a pig when I started, it looks easy but it isn’t! So my girlfriend and I challenged each other. After awhile you can do more and more.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. And Zuzana’s abs probably weren’t either.

  • Deborah Chamberlin

    Zuzana,

Your workouts are amazing, certainly not for the average person. But, if we can always be striving to do more and do better we will only benefit all the way down the line.

I enjoy your website also because I almost feel like I am traveling and shopping vicariously with you. It is very fun.

Thank you for the inspiration and motivation.

I love your site and have found the motivation I need to finally take that step forward to getting healthy. You are an inspiration and the fact that you help us all for FREE is incredibly generous; I also love the fact that as a beginner I can take pieces of your work outs and still get my butt kicked! So thank you for that and thank you for giving me something different everyday to help me get to that future me!!

“…There is only ever right now.”

In contrast, it could be said that there is also only always. And once we realize this — that ‘now’ is [also] a continuum — then we can approach each moment with the awareness of its impact.

  • LaTonia

When I try to veiw your video’s a message pops up error establishing a database connection do you know why this is happening? • Jen

I also keep getting the database error. It’s when I click on anything, not just videos. Sometimes just trying to visit bodyrock.tv gives me that message. I’m getting frustrated, because I want to view the diet section of the site & it’s not letting me. :( Please help!!

  • Valeria

ok, well said, bye. I will be back soon!!!

  • Frederick

    Hi Jen,
We are working on it – the site has been overloaded by visitors and that is what is causing the errors. We have started the process of building a new site that can handle these traffic spikes.

  • Frederick

Hi Stacy – just follow the blue link in post :)

  • MIKE

    Hello, your body is beautiful

  • D

Great! Inspiring! I love you guys! ;) I was just thinking if you are planning to do any workouts with a resistance band/ mat? I’m looking for some more exercises with it! :)

Zuzana you are a modern fitness idol, i want to meet you.

  • Geri

Hi Zuzana! You have been an inspiration to me for well over a year now! -o^ So I have this off the wall question. Do you ever run marathons or even anything of lesser distance? If you do, I wanted to know what are your times? Like I said, very off the wall but I was just really curious. BTW, today I started your, Damn Sexy Body workout. Three words can only describe what kind of workout that was……That-was-killer! Loved it and it’s my new addition now! Thanks!

  • Maja

    Dear Zuzana,

I wanted to raise a question on PMS, not sure if it was already mentioned somewhere on the site before, but what I experience is like a week in a month when I feel like I lost all my energy and desire to look good and work hard for that, so I always brake my diet and workout routine in that period…I wonder if it’s just me being lazy or there are hormonal impacts in it too. What do you think about hormones and how they influence your routines?

Will really appreciate getting a reply from you and other women reading this.

I really liked this article/fitness tip. Though I’m in reasonably good shape, I always feel like I can improve. I’m taking a boxing class and getting really in to it, but I’m tiny compared to some of the guys that I spar, so I’m always asking myself what I can do to give myself a bit of an advantage or at least level the playing field a bit. Succinctly, you’ve pretty much stated my fitness philosophy, and said it well. I love your workouts and they definitely are a part of my attempting to get faster and stronger.

  • Brenda

Thanx a lot!! This article was a real slap in the face for me. I usually tend to leave things for tomorrow thinking today really woulnd’t make a difference but now I’m determined to work out Everyday!:)

  • Maja

It is exactly what I wondered in my previous comment…

How long have you been working out?

  • Raetona

This is exactly what I need to hear, because I am the QUEEN of putting anything and everything, especially the most important things, off until some vague future. Anytime I feel the least bit tired I say I’ll feel more like working out tomorrow… I need to stop. I need to truly make this part of my life because it is my health and my body in the balance. Thank you for the reminder.

Realizing your potential is not the same as accomplishing your goal(s), but it is often a precursor to it.

  • Neeki

    Hey Zuzana,
i have started working out again, and i was wondering what exercises would be really good to get rid of love handles and flatten the lower ab section. if you could respond, i would be supper happy.(i am 15 years old by the way.)
    thankks!!

  • Ivan

    Hey,
About working out every day, it is not necessarily the best idea. Sure you must not procrastinate, but one has to be careful not to overtrain especially if you’re doing high intensity training.
I usually take a day off between my workouts but my workout can easily be over 2 hours. So maybe it depends on the workout.
If you have any insight regarding this, it’s welcome.

  • Tanya

Are the shoes Suzanna is wearing on the “Fat Ass Burn Off” sketchers, or what brand? Thanks.
