Fashion Haul – My Exercise Clothes

Hi Guys,

One of the most common questions that I get here is about where I get my exercise clothes. I thought it would be fun to start sharing my new workout clothes with you when I go shopping. It has been quite a while since I have bought anything new to wear for my workouts, and now that we are moving into the spring I decided it was time to update with some new pieces.

Most of the time I find it really challenging to find exercise pants that look cool and actually fit me well. The biggest challenge I run into is that a lot workout tights tend to be cut in a way that flattens your butt like a pancake. I have a common sense approach to shopping now – if I am not 100% sure about an item I leave it behind and look for something else. The faintest hint in the dressing room that I may have second thoughts about it later and I won’t buy it. Most of the time this results in me leaving a heap of clothes behind in the changing room and walking away with nothing.

Thankfully when I tried these new Adidas pants on they fit perfectly and there was no second guessing. They are super comfortable on and I really enjoyed working out in them. They also are those rare pants that give you a really nice shaped bum. They don’t flatten your cheeks :) These pants were ridiculously expensive in the store – they came to $154 – but I found them later online for $89 here: http://www.zappos.com/adidas-by-stella-mccartney-running-7-8-tight-pant-black-black

After I moaned over the price difference I decided that I would start shopping for my exercise clothes online a lot more often :)

I spotted the Puma top on a mannequin from across the store and I immediately loved it. I love the way they iced up the logo and made it sparkly. It’s a great top and super comfortable to wear for working out.

My old Nike trainers were starting to look a bit worn out, and even tho I love them, it was time for a new pair. I find shopping for exercise shoes very similar to shopping for tooth paste. There are a million different options, and each one is for a very specific purpose. What I have learned about my own training and the workouts that we do here on BodyRock.Tv, is that I prefer to wear shoes with flat soles. I have also read that flat soles are recommended for working out with kettle bells. I used to wear athletic shoes that had much more elevated heels (packed with air pockets, gel, springs and a small nuclear reactor) but I found that the extra height made the shoes less stable. The great thing about these shoes is that they are not made from any kind of mesh fabric that gets dirty easily. At $70 I was very pleased with this purchase.

I hope you enjoyed the haul and if you have any tips for where to get great stuff let me know.

Zuzana.

Question for the ladies, does anyone know of a workout bra for the small breasted that does not flatten the chest like pancakes ( a bra that lifts and separates)and is as cute and sexy like Zuzana. I wear a 34A cup, please let me know the brands that have worked for you ladies in the same situation. My body is starting to look amazing and I don’t want to cover it with a t-shirt any more. I’m ready to start showing off the results of my hard work lol.

      Lisa,

This may or may not help you, but I get my bras from a store in Nashville, TN called Scarlet Begonia. They are amazing for small chested. Here is the link http://www.scarlettbegonia.com/merch.htm if you are ever in the area.

    • Moni says:

Hey I am in the same boat…Lululemon has them sometimes, not always so you gotta keep checking.I don’t know where you live but in Canada we have a store called Winners(similar to T.J Max – USA) and I bought some tops that fit me perfect and they are very cheap(under 24$)

    • Tim says:

I wouldnt wory about your breast size too much.Alot of people make a big deal about it but to be perfectly honest guys realy dont care that much.Guys in the bar might care…but most of us couldnt care less.Work on being as healthy as you can and be comfortable in your own skin.Thats alot more important to men than breast size.

      • Athanasy says:

Tim – and to all the ladies,

I take this same stand point – it does not matter what a breast size is, as long as you’re healthy. Much like everything else about the elusive female – it isn’t so much about what a man or any men thinks. It is self image. If a woman works out hard, and ‘feels’ she isn’t portraying a girliesque figure… you can tell her until your blue in the face. It’s how she feels. That doesn’t mean to stop supporting her, your love is reciprocating – so go and help her pick out that sexy bra. Who knows where it can lead! :p

Sure, I agree, but we like to look curvy for ourselves, not necessarily to catch a guy’s attention. Just a part of being a woman.

    • Tammy says:

I know what you mean. I don’t want to look like I have no breasts because my sports bra smashes what I have down. I have found sports bras at Victoria’s Secret that actually have some light padding in them. I don’t see them on their website currently. I would suggest going to a local department store that has a lingerie section and looking for lightly padded sports bras. The padding is enough to offset the affect of the smash-down support they give.

    • Lexi Fuji says:

This may not be what you are looking for but I use two bras one for support and one for the lift and beauty. I use a regular old bra underneath the sports bra. the regular bra provides the separation and the lift, then the sports bra keeps it in place.

      • Simone says:

I often do the same when working out. I normally wear a normal bra under my sports bra so I can keep them lifted while holding them down, when jogging or doing the normal workouts.

p.s. what is the name of those Nike shoes

    The pants are stunning…fun!

The new workout didn’t get loaded until after I did mine today. I went thru the 500-600 reps workouts and put a workout that I could do at the hotel gym.

I chose 10 exercises with 50 reps. I am happy that I was able to get thru all the 50 Squat with Side Leg Lifts, Sit Ups and Reptiles without stopping!

Looking forward to the new workout tomorrow.

Zuzana–not sure if you’d be interested, but this is a link to a website that sells really nice designer clothing at really great discounts; this weekend they had a lot of fitness stuff on sale–yoga clothes, mats, etc.–though I’m sure a lot of it is already sold out. Theres a ton of other stuff as well, for both men and women–if you wanna check it out here’s my link; http://www.gilt.com/invite/mellybelly9
It’s free to sign up,hope you find it useful!

  8. Joanna says:

Hello Zuzana, nice pants you have there! I wonder if I could pull those off :)

Have you ever tried on running thights and capris? I really think that most of those have really flattering cuts and they are so comfortable. Only downside is that it’s hard to find nice colours, they tend to be mostly black/blue/grey with little colorful efects.. Anyways, my current favourites are Puma and Craft tights.

I also want to thank you for your videos. Because of those I found my long lost inspiration to work out. Now I have been working out regularly for about two weeks and I already feel so much better overall and about my self (and also from the mirrow:)).

    Keep up the good work!

  9. Audrey says:

    Hi Zuzanna,

I am interested in finding the v-neck sports bras you wear, like the one you are wearing in the “Damn Sexy Body” workout. I really like the v-neck type but cannot find them at the website you mentioned or anywhere on the web.

Can you provide some websites to find them at?

Thanks & great website! I love the exercises! I try to incorporate some of your moves into the P90X routines I do as well as my own (whatever feels good to me on a particular day).

  12. Amber says:

    You should try http://www.lucy.com/ :)
It is where I get all my work out clothing and they fit wonderfully and look great.

  13. Dakota says:

  20. Andrew says:

Frankly, with a body like that, do you really need clothes anymore ?!? You remind me of a steppe horse woman, maybe from one of those Kurgan tribes. Where are you from Zuzana ? I am curious as I have travelled twice in the steppe lands. Bashkortostan and Mongolia. Both really memorable trips.

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Lvette,
Lululemon has bras for all breast sizes, many of them are shaping, and a lot of their bras have molded cups. I do everything from plyometrics, running, weight lifting, yoga, to lounging in their clothes. They have a website as well just google lululemon and it should come up. Enjoy

Outfit is great! It is so cool. Couldn’t be better.

    You Rock!

  42. Carol says:

    Zuzana’s outfit rocks!

I believe that when people shop for clothing, they want to feel beautiful for themselves, not just to impress the people around them. I think that fun exercise clothing gives me more inspiration to workout and do my best!
I shop at FeelFitWear.com, they are multi-brand company with great fitness clothing. Many of their products are made of this special fabric that comes from Brazil; it fits great and has an amazing feel!!!! They tend to run a little small; I think they would have something for a 34 A breast.

  43. Catherine says:

This was an unpredictable look, for you!
You did very well, well done! The pants are fantastic. They carry a funk/retro vibe and really indicate you are having fun with it(:])

    All the best,
    Kate :)

  47. Lori Cataudella says:

I found just as nice stuff in Walmart….Danskin has some great style sports bras. When it comes to workout clothes I’m pretty frugal for a piece of material I’m going to sweat up and wash about 100 times….LOL! I work out at home, I don’t really care what people think where my boobs are flat or not…they’ll be too busy looking at the rest of me to notice….LOL! Next to developing legs, abs are one of the most difficult muscles to get developed. Guys have always been jealous the I could develop mine so easily. Since I’ve been training with Zuzana, my abs are coming back in full force!!!! Thank you Zuzana!!!!
