Fashion Haul – My Exercise Clothes

Hi Guys,

One of the most common questions that I get here is about where I get my exercise clothes. I thought it would be fun to start sharing my new workout clothes with you when I go shopping. It has been quite a while since I have bought anything new to wear for my workouts, and now that we are moving into the spring I decided it was time to update with some new pieces.

Most of the time I find it really challenging to find exercise pants that look cool and actually fit me well. The biggest challenge I run into is that a lot workout tights tend to be cut in a way that flattens your butt like a pancake. I have a common sense approach to shopping now – if I am not 100% sure about an item I leave it behind and look for something else. The faintest hint in the dressing room that I may have second thoughts about it later and I won’t buy it. Most of the time this results in me leaving a heap of clothes behind in the changing room and walking away with nothing.

Thankfully when I tried these new Adidas pants on they fit perfectly and there was no second guessing. They are super comfortable on and I really enjoyed working out in them. They also are those rare pants that give you a really nice shaped bum. They don’t flatten your cheeks :) These pants were ridiculously expensive in the store – they came to $154 – but I found them later online for $89 here: http://www.zappos.com/adidas-by-stella-mccartney-running-7-8-tight-pant-black-black

After I moaned over the price difference I decided that I would start shopping for my exercise clothes online a lot more often :)

I spotted the Puma top on a mannequin from across the store and I immediately loved it. I love the way they iced up the logo and made it sparkly. It’s a great top and super comfortable to wear for working out.

My old Nike trainers were starting to look a bit worn out, and even tho I love them, it was time for a new pair. I find shopping for exercise shoes very similar to shopping for tooth paste. There are a million different options, and each one is for a very specific purpose. What I have learned about my own training and the workouts that we do here on BodyRock.Tv, is that I prefer to wear shoes with flat soles. I have also read that flat soles are recommended for working out with kettle bells. I used to wear athletic shoes that had much more elevated heels (packed with air pockets, gel, springs and a small nuclear reactor) but I found that the extra height made the shoes less stable. The great thing about these shoes is that they are not made from any kind of mesh fabric that gets dirty easily. At $70 I was very pleased with this purchase.

I hope you enjoyed the haul and if you have any tips for where to get great stuff let me know.

Zuzana.

  • Margarinchik

I congratulate on a new thing!)))

Thank Zuzana I was trying to figure out what your top was in the workout vid. it is a really great cut I agree, I love Puma stuff and it looks amazing on you.

Hi Zuzana, what a great site you guys have here, keep up the good work.

Also, have you tried the Vibram 5 fingers? Those shoes are awesome (if you enjoy being barefoot), I been doing crossfit for about the last 3 months with my Vibrams and I simply love them.

    Saludos from Mexico

Hi Suzanna! I just wanted to say thank you!! Today I have got my new Nikon! I’m so happy! Thank you for share with me which camera model do you use )) You two are so cute! I love you! Thanks again!

  • http://www.bodyrock.tv Andreea

    HI Zuzana,

I have a question for you and i hope you won’t mind:why do you move so much?!…in your daily life whit what do you do?as in work?!!!of…and for the clothes i don’t find here in Romania what i want…or their are too expensive and not even original…made in china…things like that…so i ask my mother or when i go visit her in london i buy myself t-shirts and pants because they have such nice models…thanks…please reply!!!!:*

  • Nicole D Lopez

I love this outfit! Even my boyfriend said your pants were cool, which means a lot because he rarely comments on clothes. (He owns about 5 shirts, a pair of pants, and a pair of shorts lol) I am just now getting back into the whole “dressing nice” thing because I got this sudden urge to be extremely springy this spring ;)

As far as advice on where to buy more cute workout clothes, I would just like to say that since I am working out almost all day (I run, bike, climb, jump, and of course, do your workouts) I always like to be comfortable yet “athletically stylish.” So when I go shopping, I never limit myself to just the sporty athletic stores because you can often times find something cute that can serve multiple purposes. For example, I recently got a lime green sleeveless racer-back shirt and it’s one of my favorite things to work out in, even though it’s not labeled as workout clothes.

P.S. You two are ridiculously great. Thank you again for part of my life :)

  • Jana

Those are some sweet pants….I also have problems finding pants, especially jeans, that don’t flatten my butt. I just had a question about your diet….I’m having trouble sticking to several small meals a day. I’m a grazer, so I like to eat a apple here, a piece of cheese there…..the problem is I end up eating too much and not realizing it until after I’ve eaten…..I tried diet journals but I usually don’t make it past the first day….Any suggestions??

It costs $5 to make a pair of Nike shoes:
Why pick on Nike, if all shoe companies are the same?

1- The Asian-American Free Labor Institute in Indonesia says Nike factory workers file more complaints about wage violations than any other shoe company.

2- Nike has been in Vietnam for less than two years and already one factory official has been convicted of physically abusing workers, another fled the country during a police investigation of sexual-abuse charges and a third is under indictment for abusing workers, as reported in the New York Times.

3- Nike, the biggest shoe company in the world, spends $978 million a year on marketing ploys that “empower” women and inner-city youth to buy overpriced shoes that are made with sweatshop labor.

4- Nike has a responsibility to abide by humane labor practices as defined by their Code of Conduct which says “in the area of human rights…in the communities in which we do business – we seek to do not only what is required, but what is expected of a leader.” A leader would not lower human rights standards to maximize profits.

  • jospeh

Hay Zuzana, I love the clothing, I would like to see a little less cleavage though. And please don’t get a tattoo.

NOw that your body is beautifully dressed, don’t forget to dress your Spirit. 2 Cor 5:17 If anyone is in Christ Jesus he is a new creation old things are passed away behold all things have become new. God wants to dress you up and show you off better than Solomon.

    LOL Be Blessed

  • Léa

    Hi Zuzana,
thank you for all the good advice.

  • thomas

the nike cost only 70 bucks? half the price of the replay shoes… boy you wasted your money on the replays ;)

  • Ashley P

Hi Zuzana, I was wondering how do you find neat workout clothes. I’ve looked but I’m having trouble finding tops like that and bottoms. Do you have any recommendations for any online stores? Something that’s also good for a budget?

  • Anuta

I love you, guys! Thank you for doing what you are doing! Looking great as always!Haven’t seen Frederick though. How is he?

  • Dai

What site did you find the shoes on?

  • Tiffany Stephens

Thanks for the FYI. That poor little mannequin you just put it to the worst kind of shame …LOL Hey, I was wondering if you and Fredrick would add a couple full length workouts once or twice a week, maybe with the new upgrade? Also, I’m having tummy issues do you have thoughts on how to get rid of the buldge more quickly, everything else is coming along nicely. Oh, inner thighs Thanks, Ta Ta

  • Audrey

Zuzanna, thanks for sharing the details on your new workout clothes. I love the look! My question is where did you get your new exercise mat and what is the brand? I need a new one and I like the look of this one. Thanks!

  • MERCY

“…and a small nuclear reactor.” Very funny.

  • rob

hi i was just looking for great work outs and came acrossed this website through a web link i wanna say first you have an amazing body and i like the work outs u do iam a gym freak so when i learn mew work outs i like to thank the person who showed me them and second how old are u if u dont mind me asking ?

    Hi Zuzana,

I’ve always find it hard to buy new shoes and have often left the store without any even when the old ones were falling apart.

I have a high arch and wide feet making the selection that much harder And as you point out there is as many selections as there are people it would seem.

I generally like Adidas and Nike shoes and sometimes off brands. What I look for in a shoe is stiffness throughout the sole and a solid heel. I often will buy running shoes over others because they are light and sturdy. If I buy ones with mesh I will throw them in the wash once in a while, but always air dry them.

BTW, I really like your Stella pants! The pattern is wild and they do look nice on you! 8-)

    –Chris

  • Leena

Nice, Stella McCartney for Adidas :)

If you want more of her stuff, sweatybetty.com (UK website) has uptodate collections by her. As well as a lot of cute workout clothes by other brands.

  • cutie

I really like the outfit…i like the short and the top ;) reaallly nice :)

  • Chris K

    One word: eBay.

  • Lvette

    Hi Zuzana & Fredrick,

Hurray Hurray!! the site is working again. Z, I love the whole outfit on you. Too bad my butt and thighs would look gigantic in the pant due to the graphics on it…more inspiration for me to push even harder.

For completing my 30 days sugar challenge I’m buying tickets tomorrow to see lady gaga concert in Edmonton this August. My initial reward was a dress then I found out tickets for gaga go on sale tomorrow, so I am dumping the dress for gaga.

I am happy to hear about the growth of our community. Congratulations on your successes, it is well earned by the both of you. I know I speak for more than myself and not wrong in saying let us know if there is more we (your fans) can do to further contribute to the betterment of the bodyrock community.

    Take care.

hi zuzy i like your clothes and your shoes , i want ask you do you think that the new shoes of reebok REETONE served?

  • RN

    Hi Zuzana,

Just wanted to know if you ever experience plateaus and how you deal with them. Also, do you believe in cheat meals or cheat days? Do they actually help progress with fat loss or hinder them? I’d love to know your opinion and experience. I’ve never experienced such of love of working out before discovering your site. I feel like working out all the time now. You are such an inspiration.

  • sunny

Hi, I just want to say that I really like your outfits. Most of the work-out clothings are plain colored but the new pants you got has unique text design on it and I think it’s stylish. If I may, can I ask where you shop for your fitness clothing? I have shopped at some nike and adidas outlets stores but most of the times, they don’t have the styles that I want and as I was looking on your exercise videos, I think your outfits look great and it looks very stylish. Also, I’ve been just following on some of your exercises on the website recently and I gotta say that I like how you mix different exercises and it’s never boring to follow them. I’ve just started working out and I find your website very informative and fun to make reference to.

  • Barb

You’re right Zuzana, for Kettlebells it’s better to wear no shoes, or flat sole shoes, My goal is to see how fit I can get with just body weights and Kettlebell workouts, I’ll love to send you some pictures after I reach my goal hopefully by 8/2010, Thanks for the link, I shop on Zappos all the time but never new they sold workout clothes. Thank you for the kettlebell workouts they great as are you…Stay blessed you and Fredrick

  • Hayley

I really love the pants! Will check out the link :)

  • Tina

    Hi Zuzana,

haha, and I always buy Nike`s with higher hills cause they made me look taller, they made my legs look longer, haha! OMG, I am so crazy :)).
I really love Nike also. Otrherwise, great stuff, you bought! But expensive, I agree. Well, you deserve it!

    Hi Larry,

All good points. But, what do you suggest we do? Other than simply boycotting Nike or any other shoe manufacture.

  • Antonia

They move because most people like to travel the world but it sucks to stay in motels and easier just to settle for awhile. Fred owns a bowling alley out here in vegas called ” in and out all night bowling” when he comes to town he can be also found hittin the crap tables and playin the horses and every once in a while he plays roulette but he only bets on red..makes for a fun day and ..keeps him going.

    Valerie,

People usually know what size they are…
Plus workout clothes dont have the tendency of being “proper” sizes. So if it is a 36 or an M, then they probably fit someone who is that size.

  • Valerie

I know what you mean by that.
I meant if they would be flattering or not :).

  • Alys

    Hi Zuzana !

It’s can be cool if you show us what do you eat in a normal day for all your lunch, I make a lot of sport but sometime I have difficulty with what food to eat…

Thanks for answering my request and posting this! It is refreshing to hear that even someone with a body as perfect as yours still has trouble finding exercise clothes that fit and flatter.
One question though, how do you get the top you bought to stay down at the waist when you are working your abs? I love wearing cute clothes to the gym (because it’s fun to show off what you work hard for), but I am constantly checking that my underwear isn’t showing.
    Thanks,
    Erin

  • http://rathernotsay Sabrina

hey Ashley, I can answer this one. Most of Zuzanna’s pants are Lululemon which can be ordered on line from their site http://www.lululemon.com Lululemon pants sell very fast from the site when new colours come in so check daily! I’ve seen the pants I want sell out in less then a day. You can also find lots of lululemon at ebay.com. Another cool brand is Margarita Active wear. Zuzanna weres a pair with the big daisy on the leg. Its best to google thier name to find online sites which will ship to you. They have a awsome selection though and you can find some on ebay.com as well.

  • Lvette

Question for the ladies, does anyone know of a workout bra for the small breasted that does not flatten the chest like pancakes ( a bra that lifts and separates)and is as cute and sexy like Zuzana. I wear a 34A cup, please let me know the brands that have worked for you ladies in the same situation. My body is starting to look amazing and I don’t want to cover it with a t-shirt any more. I’m ready to start showing off the results of my hard work lol.

  • Lvette

p.s. what is the name of those Nike shoes

    The pants are stunning…fun!

The new workout didn’t get loaded until after I did mine today. I went thru the 500-600 reps workouts and put a workout that I could do at the hotel gym.

I chose 10 exercises with 50 reps. I am happy that I was able to get thru all the 50 Squat with Side Leg Lifts, Sit Ups and Reptiles without stopping!

Looking forward to the new workout tomorrow.

I Had so much fun relaxing and watching your two latest videos. I will try the new workout first thing tomorrow morning! I LUV you guys, you are making such a difference in my attitude and approach to my workouts. I am loving my new toner body and my goal is to become a personal trainer by 2011 before my boys start school. I am revved up and you guys are the main reason for my better moods and healthier body and nicer outlook on life. And the good Lord. I treasure my body and want it to feel good, look good, and be good :) I feel priveledged to be a part of this site and to know you both. Smiling~ Lish

  • westham

When do you show the results of your workouts? I think we all want to know how big your biceps are and your abs.

  • Melina

    Lisa,

This may or may not help you, but I get my bras from a store in Nashville, TN called Scarlet Begonia. They are amazing for small chested. Here is the link http://www.scarlettbegonia.com/merch.htm if you are ever in the area.

  • Carmen

I had a look on the zappos website for some pants, but unfortunatly they only ship in the U.S and candada. Or am I wrong?

love all your outfits and your workouts.

    You are great!

  • Michelle

Zuzana–not sure if you’d be interested, but this is a link to a website that sells really nice designer clothing at really great discounts; this weekend they had a lot of fitness stuff on sale–yoga clothes, mats, etc.–though I’m sure a lot of it is already sold out. Theres a ton of other stuff as well, for both men and women–if you wanna check it out here’s my link; http://www.gilt.com/invite/mellybelly9
It’s free to sign up,hope you find it useful!

  • Joanna

Hello Zuzana, nice pants you have there! I wonder if I could pull those off :)

Have you ever tried on running thights and capris? I really think that most of those have really flattering cuts and they are so comfortable. Only downside is that it’s hard to find nice colours, they tend to be mostly black/blue/grey with little colorful efects.. Anyways, my current favourites are Puma and Craft tights.

I also want to thank you for your videos. Because of those I found my long lost inspiration to work out. Now I have been working out regularly for about two weeks and I already feel so much better overall and about my self (and also from the mirrow:)).

    Keep up the good work!

  • Audrey

Really want those flower power pinky exercise pants… can you tell me where I can buy them?

  • Antonia

    Hi Chris,

Yes, I am sorry to tell you this is all I can confirm at this time. I have no other data to say otherwise although I have my suspicions. We are carefully observing them and we do not know what the future may manifest latter. Over and out-

    Hi Zuzanna,

I am interested in finding the v-neck sports bras you wear, like the one you are wearing in the “Damn Sexy Body” workout. I really like the v-neck type but cannot find them at the website you mentioned or anywhere on the web.

Can you provide some websites to find them at?

Thanks & great website! I love the exercises! I try to incorporate some of your moves into the P90X routines I do as well as my own (whatever feels good to me on a particular day).

  • annabelle

**Correction** I meant the V-neck on the “Body on Fire” workout.

  • Amber

    You should try http://www.lucy.com/ :)
It is where I get all my work out clothing and they fit wonderfully and look great.

  • nirta

thank you for sharing this nice idea
sounds more sympathetic and less obsessive than writing everything down
and might as well make you want to have a nice picture and therefore make your food and the place look nice and thus enjoy your meal and take your time like z&f were discussing in previous articles
at least for us eye-persons out there…

  • Antonia

    Hi Jana,

Yes that is a good way to loose tract and gain wieght. I have trouble with that myself since I live by myself I can graze. Best sugestion is to “plate” your food. want to eat 5-6 small meals a day like Zuzana? Plate even the apple and small piece of cheese as one meal( this is an example ). Studies show that visually seeing what you eat helps a lot in contrast with taking directly from a bag you can wind up eating too many portions. If we take one minute to put it on a plate, even an apple, it can think of it different. Oh and also the portion should be small. Not a whole plate.

  • Dakota

I’m sticking to Champion clothes. There are great for men and do not cost a fortune. I’m comfortable in anything I look decent in. Zuzana, you look marvelous in just about anything!

  • therese

I just purchased the stella adidas pants online and ordered a small according to the size chart. What size do you wear? You are leaner than I but I am a 26 in guess jeans so do you think these will fit?

  • Moni

Hey I am in the same boat…Lululemon has them sometimes, not always so you gotta keep checking.I don’t know where you live but in Canada we have a store called Winners(similar to T.J Max – USA) and I bought some tops that fit me perfect and they are very cheap(under 24$)

Frankly, with a body like that, do you really need clothes anymore ?!? You remind me of a steppe horse woman, maybe from one of those Kurgan tribes. Where are you from Zuzana ? I am curious as I have travelled twice in the steppe lands. Bashkortostan and Mongolia. Both really memorable trips.

    Regards,

I know that Zuzana is the STAR of the show and with good reason :) But I heard the camera man speak for the first time in the Zuzuna Banana recipe video and I just want to see the man who get to film you all day long Zuzana. Could there possibly be a better job in this worl :D Tell him to poke is head into the scene one time.

  • Tim

I wouldnt wory about your breast size too much.Alot of people make a big deal about it but to be perfectly honest guys realy dont care that much.Guys in the bar might care…but most of us couldnt care less.Work on being as healthy as you can and be comfortable in your own skin.Thats alot more important to men than breast size.

  • Claudiu

You look fantastic, I like your new training shoes.

    Lvette,
Lululemon has bras for all breast sizes, many of them are shaping, and a lot of their bras have molded cups. I do everything from plyometrics, running, weight lifting, yoga, to lounging in their clothes. They have a website as well just google lululemon and it should come up. Enjoy

Well, I had this whole scenario going were they where in Prague for….oh but I shouldn’t tell…8-)

Anyway, I can mention this…in my daydreaming…Frederick was a peep for CSIS and Zuzana a femme fatale for BIS or maybe they both worked for CSIS.

Tim – and to all the ladies,

I take this same stand point – it does not matter what a breast size is, as long as you’re healthy. Much like everything else about the elusive female – it isn’t so much about what a man or any men thinks. It is self image. If a woman works out hard, and ‘feels’ she isn’t portraying a girliesque figure… you can tell her until your blue in the face. It’s how she feels. That doesn’t mean to stop supporting her, your love is reciprocating – so go and help her pick out that sexy bra. Who knows where it can lead! :p

Good thing that even in exersicing, fashion is still there!

  • Tammy

I know what you mean. I don’t want to look like I have no breasts because my sports bra smashes what I have down. I have found sports bras at Victoria’s Secret that actually have some light padding in them. I don’t see them on their website currently. I would suggest going to a local department store that has a lingerie section and looking for lightly padded sports bras. The padding is enough to offset the affect of the smash-down support they give.

  • Tammy

Sure, I agree, but we like to look curvy for ourselves, not necessarily to catch a guy’s attention. Just a part of being a woman.

  • Kev

I agree with the comments about the pants. Those are stunning :)

  • Kev

I agree with Claudiu, You look gorgeous in this picture.

  • Emliy

I was looking for the web sight where your nike shoes were from and I didn’t see it. Could you let me know where I can order them…or what name and style they are…

    Thanks!

  • Diego

I am a new fan of yours. You have been great inspiration for me. Thank you for your videos and for your guidance. I hope to continue along in this great journey!

  • Lexi Fuji

This may not be what you are looking for but I use two bras one for support and one for the lift and beauty. I use a regular old bra underneath the sports bra. the regular bra provides the separation and the lift, then the sports bra keeps it in place.

  • Joseph

Do you ever get tired of people complimenting you on your beauty? It’s almost as if you should be modeling for Adidas, would you have been interested if they offered?

  • Nicky

Do you do fitness competitions? you should!! My next show is this september, would love some tips on getting abs like yours!

  • Menard Pineda

you are so sexy of that outfit!

  • Bryan

She is from Czech Rep. and her husband is from Canada.

  • Andrew

Outfit is great! It is so cool. Couldn’t be better.

    You Rock!

  • Simone

I often do the same when working out. I normally wear a normal bra under my sports bra so I can keep them lifted while holding them down, when jogging or doing the normal workouts.

  • Carol

    Zuzana’s outfit rocks!

I believe that when people shop for clothing, they want to feel beautiful for themselves, not just to impress the people around them. I think that fun exercise clothing gives me more inspiration to workout and do my best!
I shop at FeelFitWear.com, they are multi-brand company with great fitness clothing. Many of their products are made of this special fabric that comes from Brazil; it fits great and has an amazing feel!!!! They tend to run a little small; I think they would have something for a 34 A breast.

  • Catherine

This was an unpredictable look, for you!
You did very well, well done! The pants are fantastic. They carry a funk/retro vibe and really indicate you are having fun with it(:])

  • Kandi

    Hehe…nuclear reactor…that made me giggle.. :P

  • Inez

Besides the one outfit where do you usually get your exersize clothes or what brand??? And what size are you in jeans and your measurements i need inspiration

  • Kate

Hi everybody. Just wanted to say that i love athleta clothing brand. I think their clothes is very comfortable and wears forever.

    Kate :)

I found just as nice stuff in Walmart….Danskin has some great style sports bras. When it comes to workout clothes I’m pretty frugal for a piece of material I’m going to sweat up and wash about 100 times….LOL! I work out at home, I don’t really care what people think where my boobs are flat or not…they’ll be too busy looking at the rest of me to notice….LOL! Next to developing legs, abs are one of the most difficult muscles to get developed. Guys have always been jealous the I could develop mine so easily. Since I’ve been training with Zuzana, my abs are coming back in full force!!!! Thank you Zuzana!!!!

I ordered those online, but I can’t remember the name of the brand – I cut the tags off :( I think it was Margarita or something like that.
