Wedding Crashers in Naples Italy

Hi guys,

The two days in Rome were absolutely amazing and although we were enjoying the city immensely, we were looking forward to seeing Napoli. We took the fast train from Rome to Napoli and got there in about 45 minutes. The train ride cost us 80 euro. If you are not in a hurry (and you know better – sadly we did not) then take the regular train for less than half price. The scenery we saw from the train (when we weren’t asleep) was stunning, but when we arrived at Napoli, it wasn’t at all what we expected. The area around the train station was really rough and as we stepped off of the train a kind woman ahead of us warned us to be careful with our things because we might get robed. That kind of set the mood for our arrival.

We checked into the hotel for two nights and set off to explore. It didn’t take us long to start missing the warm hospitality and vibrant energy of Rome. We can’t honestly tell you that we would recommend Napoli, but as you see in the video we did manage to have some fun, and it is the launching point for the next stage of our Italian adventure.

If you are ever in Napoli, and you are looking for exceptional and friendly service (a rarity we discovered) give the restaurant Gusto Gusto a try. It is on the sea side boulevard near the harbour. Freddy claims it’s the best pizza he has ever had.

See you guys soon,

Zuzana and Freddy.

    Hi Freddy & Zuz,

I wonder if the camera had something to do with the way you guys were treated. Was the treatment the same in every place you visited in Naples or was it just the restaurants?

I hope you next stop is better..sad that Naples left a bad taste in your mouths. Deep breathes, the next stop will provide amazing experience.

    PEACE :)

  • RN

    Hi Zuzana,

Watching these videos, I almost feel as if I’m in Rome with you guys. It’s interesting what you said about always feeling hungry. Do you think it is because of all the walking around or because you are eating alot of junk foods which are not satisfying or is it just the atmosphere? After I started your workouts, I started becoming insanely hungry, and I couldn’t control my eating on some days. So I stopped doing them completely for the past two weeks. I no longer feel the huge pangs of hunger. If exercise makes you eat more, what’s the use of exercising? I’ve been working out for more than three years and this is the longest break I have taken. I’m so worried about starting again, because I don’t want to start overeating again.

  • Denise

Too bad all of us BodyRockers can’t be with ya’ll in person….group burpies :)

Zuzana-you are SO adorable at the last clip…..I LOVE IT….I will have to try that one with my husband too :) But he did just let me buy two suits last month.

  • http://rathernotsay Sabrina

Come to Florence!!!!!!!!!!! Florence loves you!! and If you want I will take you both to dinner to the very best places my treat for all you have done for me. :D or just come and enjoy the atmosphere. P.s. the cheaper train is about half price but it will also take you three times the time to get anywhere so is a bit of a trade off.

  • Stephanie

Ahhhh! So jealous of you guys’ trip! I so want to go “bag-packing” now.

Oh, just wondering…zuzana, where are you carrying all the new stuff that you’re buying?? lol

  • http://ozziepossum-diyhealthfitness.blogspot.com/ ozziepossum

Aah Naples, another wonderful Italian City. Just be careful of the guys on motorbikes who zoom past and steal your bags! I nearly got caught!

Be sure to visit Capri, an absolutely beautiful island off the coast of Naples. The Blue Grotto is something you should see when there.

I really wish I could go back to Italy :(

    Dee
Aussie Aussie Aussie, I want to go to Italy!

  • ciro piccola

Thanks for sharing the trip it nice it reminds me of when I went 20 years ago. The Colosseum blew me away too.
    Pizza looked great!!

  • Margaret from Chicago

I felt the same way when I visted Napoli. It felt dangerous…scary. I ended up having a horrible fight with the cab driver that charged us twice as much as he promised. What a horrible way to start your vacation. The highlight of our trip was visting pompeii. It was truly magical. I hope you guys are having a great time and don’t miss visting Florence, Venice, Cinque Terra which is close and the Amalfi Coast! Ciao!

  • Claudia

Thanks for keeping us posted, we really look forward to see what you guys are up to!!!! Keep up the positive attitude, and enjoy all your trip.

Ha ha so funny, I love the very last few seconds of today’s video – I totally recognize myself in that last comment Zuzana. You’ll have to buy a suitcase to bring everything back ;)

Wish you the perfect little island with nice beaches, friendly people and good restaurant. Enjoy !

    ~ Nathalie ~

  • Jordan

    How incredibly beautiful!

  • maria

zuzana, hi i am from naples it was good to see you at castel dell’ovo where i run every morning

  • Katia

    HI Zuzana and Freddy!

Glad you’re enjoying yourselves. I lived three years in a military base in Sicily (the southern island right under Italy) and I know the experience of being looked at wrong and given attitude. I can tell you that the problem is that since there is a military base right where you guys are, they might believe you two are american and they dont really “like” americans too much (because of behavior, beliefs, etc) I experienced that a lot and because I speak spanish I was better off speaking spanish out in the streets with my husbands so that we wouldnt get the looks and attitude, it worked out pretty well.

Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the trip :)

  • http://www.sisygarza.com sisy

oh my god I loved the shoes!!!!!

guys you are so cool! really you are ment for each other, keep it that way :o)

thanks for sharing this trip to all of us.

  • Hannah

Hey Zuzana and Freddy, it’s odd how Rome can be so friendly and Napoli can be the total opposite. I’ve heard that Italians are not very friendly to tourists but I guess there’s not much truth to that considering how friendly and welcoming Rome is. I love your videos when you take us with you on your trips. I can’t wait for the next one. I hope you guys continue to have a great and fun vacation.

  • Fafa

Love the blog about your travels. Actually liking it more than the workouts. If you’re going to do Europe, you should check out Croatian and the Dalmatian coast. Its cleaner, cheaper and just as beautiful. Cheers

  • cutie

Awwww Zuzanaaa!!! I really like the shoessssss!!! Thumbs up for Wedge shoessss, my newww thing for this summer ;)

I totally agree that when people make u feel unwelcome, it can ruin a day…but Freddy and u should keep enjoying ur trip and ur experience :) U look good 2gether

    Take care

  • Blaine

    Hey Freddy,
My wife and I will be travelling to Italy next year for our 20th Anniversary. I am getting some good tips from you guys. Keep them coming and have a fantastic vacation.

By the way, I love the look on your face when Zuzanna said she had to buy a new swimsuit. Priceless.

    No need to post.
    Take care from Calgary

  • Rosario

If you guys want to see the most beatiful sea, then you must go to Capri, it is an island, and the water is cristal clear, and the color is….well you better go and see yourselfs. Good luck and have an amazong trip. ;)

  • Lu

Hey, I felt the same way about Milano. I loved everywhere else thought. Hope you have a good trip.

  • John Seater

Your experience is surprising. Romans indeed are friendly people, but generally in Italy the farther south you go, the friendlier the people get. Try Sicily for really friendly and almost unbelievably generous people. It is also true, unfortunately, that the organized crime gets worse the farther south you go, and one of their minor industries is robbing tourists. If you take basic precautions, you can keep your possessions while enjoying yourself and the southern Italians.

Napoli doesn’t have nearly as much to offer the tourist as Rome does. Rome is one of the greatest (in the deepest meaning of the word) cities in the world with few equals and no superiors. Napoli is a big, big step down. There are some fine things to see both in and around the city (e.g., the archaeology museum, Pompeii, Capri), but you have to know where to go and where not go go. It’s not like Rome, where almost anywhere you go you are confronted with some great monument or amazing ruin or fantastic museum or glorious church. La Forcella, the part of Napoli that you saw in front of the train station, is a poor neighborhood, from which came many an immigrant to the New World. It has a bit of charm, and pizza originates from there, but there’s not a lot to see in it.

  • marianna

Check out Pompeii, it’s a must!

  • John Seater

I should also add that the farther south you go, the more traditional the people get. Zuzana’s clothes are provocative even for Rome. Slender Italian women like to dress sexy, and they look terrific, but they don’t look quite like Zuzana, whose clothes are not merely sexy but also immodest. I hope you didn’t go into any churches dressed like that.

  • Jenna

Make sure to visit the island of Capri…you guys will absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!! It has the most beautiful 360 views ever!!!!!!

  • Ava

    Hello Zuzana and Freddie,

Great workouts and definitly great and super sweet travel videos – you guys compliment each other perfectly as a couple!
I’m from Germany myself and live momentarily in the U.S.,
I wanted to move to Malta at one point, so your Gozo videos made me smile, and I have been to Italy many times so I know what you mean about Napoli ;)
Well continue with your beautiful trip and the great & funny commentary,
    love you both,
    Ava

  • Carolina

    Heya,

Just letting you know, I don’t know if you guys are going to Paris or France but there is BEAUTIFUL and I mean BEAUTIFUL beaches in Nice, France. It’s actually called that, “Nice” (pronounced neese, I think) and it’s very very south France…where you guys are now doesn’t seem too far with a train or something. I would recommend it, it’s gorgeous…like a hidden gem.

    Have fun!

    -Steph

  • hpunnett

    Agree with you about Naples.

Go just a bit south and spend a day or two in Positano. Gorgeous little town about an hour or so south on the Amalfi Coast.

  • Vickie

    Hey Guys!

Go to Capri!! You can go from Napoli and it is just beautiful….expensive but beautiful ;)

    Greetings from Melbourne Australia

  • Yaya

    Hi guys,

I follow your adventure in Italy – miss it so much! I used to live there and one tip I have is – when you leave big cities like Rome, Firenze, Venezia, Milan where there are lots of tourists and people are used to them in all shapes colors etc – you have to remember that Italy is a very Catholic country, and women do not dress there too sexy. The reason they treated you in a nasty way might be that they got a bit ticked off by Zuzana’s sexy body in very revealing sportswear. I may be wrong – but I learned during my travels (32 countries so far) that it is always a good idea to check out how the locals dress and sorta conform. As you are moving towards the south, it might be better it might be worse – depends on where you go – I would just buy two tops that would look more like the locals wear and you should be fine. I know, it’s freaking hot there, but you can always find something IN ITALY!:-)

  • Pikmin

Yes, Naples is a troubled town and has many bad sides :( you might wanna stay away from the heat of any big town and go to Amalfi, Capri, Ischia, islands, or, head up to Tuscany.

Freddy’s pizza is without tomato, I don’t really like it without :)
    Ciao!
    Pikmin

  • Nadia

Don’t be irritate by the Italians, its not their fault, the problem is the heat – its “meltdown their brains” (if you know what I mean :))

If you are looking for warm people & warm hospitality I wouldn’t recommend you Valencia, Spain. Don’t go there, ever! although the city is very charming.

I hope you two enjoy the rest of your adventure! :)

    Good luck

  • Filippo

Hi guys,I am glad that you are enjoying your Italian trip. I am Italian, I live in Milan in the North-West but I can confirm you the same negative impressions you felt in Naples. Some rude and sometimes conceiving attitude is not only towards foreign tourists but also towards the Italians from outside Naples, expecially coming from the North.
Anyway I am sure you will be enjoying the sightseeing of the isles of the Costiera Amalfitana and I will stay tuned for more of your videos.

    Ciao

    Filippo

  • http://coolsite.000a.biz Bogdan

Dudes – I heard bad things about Naples before, I was even thinking to myself… Naples?? what for? Now I know it’s bad… I heard great things about Cinque Terre tho, Vernazza and such – which is a land north of Rome along the western coastline – hope you still have time to check that out, or maybe in a future trip if you’re in the mood for it:). Not sure there are beaches there either, but the landscapes are breathtaking from whatever photos I saw.

Good luck guys and have a fun rest of the hollidays.

  • http://www.studionyx.webnode.cz Marika

    I love your videos! :-)

  • franzi

    haha new swimsuit:) youre cute.
my bf is italian and he really also does not recommend napoli, if you want to see really amazing beaches and athmosphere (and bikini shops) head up to “Liguria”, theres amazing coastline and cities to explore!
    cheers & whistles!

I love your site and what you show us.
    Have fun guys.

  • vanessa

So sad you did not like Napoli-pizza was invented here-the very best in the world, amazing cathedrals (all over Italy!) and Herculaneum (lost underground city) is so close to visit! Had fun and Italy (anywhere!) has such culture and charm! Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip more!

  • chapcai8

    Hey guys,

You should check Pomppei out if you’re still in Napoli.
Where the whole city got submerged in ashes from the Vesuvius volcano. It’s pretty amazing.
You can probably see the volcano from Naples.

    Andre

  • Lisa

Ciao! I am really enjoyng following your steps through italy!
I bet Freddy enjoyed the pizza there…Napoli si THE place to eat pizza, but you must also be very carefull with your things there…it is rough…I would move on soon if I was in your place…Florence is lovely!!!

    Ciao
    Lisa

  • Grace

Hi Zuzana and Frederick!I’m watching your Italian holiday-adventure, it’s amazing! I live in the North of Italy, if you are heading north at the end of your travel let me know! Rome is an amazing city, I have never been to Naples but I know that some areas are dangerous for robbery, anyway other areas of the city are charming!Where are you going next? The seaside in Calabria is very beatiful, as in Puglia and , of course, Sicily is amazing!!
Enjoy your travel and if you have any question please contact me!

  • RED

    Hey Guys ;-)

What a delight it is to be a part of your Italian Getaway. Shame about Napoli but its know to be a bit of a rough diamond. I hear Positano and Salerno are wonderful to visit. Good luck!

Still holding down the fort in terms of workouts and seeing great results. Increased times and best of all the weight is coming off!!! YAY

Not to be too sycophantic but the energy and positive changes bodyrock have given me are super smile inducing.

You guys make me laugh you're so cute :)

  • http://perfect-shape.ru/ Sportsmenka

Hi, Zuzanna. I didn’t check your website for long time, because I have to rest from exersizes. And yesterday I had a dream, how I visit you in the real life. You took me in tour of some old city. And today I decided to see how you are doing and you took me in tour to Italy :))) That is strange coincidence :))

  • Alex

I had a similar experience in Naples. The best things about Naples are the pizza, travelling to Pompei and taking the ferry to Capri.

  • Jonas T

It is true that taking the regular train in italy is much cheaper, but perhaps i can make you a bit happier by telling you that the regular trains can be a real hellride. While the trains aren’t exactly old, the have absolutely no Aircondition. When i went in it, i tried to open a window, but immediately a employee on the train came and closed it and started screaming at me for opening it. It was over 40 degress C inside the train and whenever the train stopped everyone stepped outside just to get some fresh air.
In addition to this you don’t have any seats so you might have to stand and they often intentionally “overbook” the trains just to fit more passengers. heheh

Anyhow, enjoy Napoli. I would have told you to please visist VENICE, which is the most beatiful city in the world and better than all other italian citys combined, but i guess its to late for you to change your journey :)

  • http://twitter.com/wordseater Gio

    Ciao Zuzy and Freddy!

It’s the first time I’m writing you (although I follow you and your workouts since at least a year), but I’m Italian (from Milan) and I was compelled to write you because I’d like you to have the best possible impression of my country so I decided to butt in and throw out some recommendations. :-)

First of all, you should seriously consider visiting Sorrento and Capri (even tho Capri is more “fashionable”, I like Sorrento better), they’re both beautiful places (the food, especially fish is aaaamazing!).

Also, if it’s not too out of the way I strongly, very strongly recommend going to Sicily, Taormina in particular (one of the most beautiful places in the world) and Siracusa (great culture, great food, beautiful sandy beaches).

If you plan to go back to the North, you should definitely visit the “cinque terre” in Liguria. Five villages where sea and land are founded forming a unique and evocative area… rocky coastline with abundant bays, beaches and deep sea, surrounded by mountains running parallel to the coast. Terracing cultivated with vineyards and olives, kept under control by old dry stone walls, paths and mule tracks look onto breathtaking views. (the Cinque Terre has been declared a World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 1997).

Finally, if you’ll ever feel like coming to Milan (which is a wonderful city!), I’d be more than happy to walk you around or point you to the right direction (regarding things to see and places to eat).
Anyway, sorry for the long post but I couldn’t stop myself… ;-)

Hope you’ll have a wonderful time wherever you’ll go, and thank you for your wonderful site (and inspiration)!

    Gio (short for Giovanna)

  • Taryn

Ah man, I hate the way taxi drivers overcharge just because you are a tourist, so unfair!!! And sorry to hear it wasn’t so friendly – you could see a difference in your moods compared to Rome – thanks for sharing the experience, its great!

  • http://www.mantecao.com Carolina

Hi guys, people in Napoli are like that, so don’t feel bad about it. You should go to the coast, Positano, Capri and La Costiera Amalfitana you’ll find it beautiful and the people there are very friendly, also the food it’s great, if you go, try the “Linguini al vongole”, or the shrimps are great. You can also enjoy the BEST lime gelato there, or a home made limoncello :) amazing.

Have fun you guys, and don’t feel bad because sometimes italians can be rude, that’s the way they are, my family i’ts from Napoli, so I know it very well. bye bye

  • Cricket

Nice sunglasses, Freddy! Aviators look better on you than the plain black ones.

Zuzana, hope you bought the smaller purse that was in your left hand in the video, it’s gorgeous.
Very convenient to not pack the bathing suit, a girl after my own heart…
Have fun shopping! Freddy looked a bit surprised, made me laugh

Have a great time on the islands. Let us know which workout you will do in the morning.
Maybe you’ll be able to workout on a beach…?
    Thx!

  • angelica

Happy that you are in my wonderfoul country : ITALY!!! Same feelings about Napoli……

Sorry to hear about all that poor attitude! I think it’s the hot blooded individuals! :)

I’m loving your Italy videos! Thanks for sharing!

PS .. Do you guys have the canadian flag on your backpacks ? Most Canadian backpackers have that.

I just got the answer to why they do that a few weeks back on TV.. They said that Canadians are often mistaken for Americans.. and sometimes(in many places) that’s not a good thing.. So the Canadian flag saves them from being mistaken for Americans and gives them a more pleasant experience (no offense to your American fans :))

I think it is very interesting and I totally understand the reasoning behind it.. Canadians are really nice people!!

  • Ellissab

    Hi,
I was digging through the archives and must admit your production has improved sevenfold. So, I have posted comments a few times now but watched countless hours of bodyrock.tv videos; can I say addicted. My husband hears all about you guys and your adventures, lol, he is a good listener. Thanks for being a free-site for me to come to because you have added some much needed inspiration in my life. I know I cannot be the only person who feels this way about bodyrock.tv, so what I am saying is thank you for all you do.

  • Canadian

Wow, thankyou guys for sharing the details of your trip with us! I have been to Italy also, and didn’t find it very safe..but yes it was beautiful and the food was wonderful.

One TIP- the most dangerous part of most cities is near the bus/train stations. We’re living in South America right now, and the same can be said for where we are.

We were held up at gunpoint a few weeks ago (!) and nearly had our bags stolen on a bus. So be aware of your things, and don’t leave your bag anywhere or with anyone.

All the best in your travels!

PS- some people carry a ‘dummy’ wallet, so you can give that to a robber -should you be caught in that situation.

  • imiz

Hey, Nature is so fine, you fit so nicely into each other. I read this and got upset, should I really be doing your exercises in an eternity until I get results. More than 22 years: O

    Hi Zuzana & Frederick,

I’m sure the rest of your Italian getaway will make up for the rude people you had to deal with recently.

I have a quick hotel workout for you two to try. I finished it in 12 minutes & 10 seconds and it’s 3 rounds of these 5 exercises:

    20-Prisoner Squat
    20-Close-grip PushUp
    30-Side Jump Lunge
    20-Mountain Climber
    15-One-Leg DeadLift Jump (per leg)

It seems to fit in nicely with your 12 minute themed workouts.

    Ciao!

Zuzu, I see that you two have been bitten by the “guess” bugg hahahahaha

I would have picked the bag on your right (my left). So much for traveling light huh? Love the shoes!

  • Diane Henrichon

Hi, My name is Diane and I’m from near Montréal, Qc. Canada. I think it’s very cool of you to share this trip with us.I realy like your training Zuzana.
Looking foward to have news from Italie! :)

  • Anaya

Me and my friend (both girls) were also in Napoli for two days and two days in Rome. To be honest we loved Napoli, way more than Roma! :) It’s pulsing with true Italian energy, the trick is to go see the little streets and find out the native food places. For example go visit EDER Fantasie di Napoli (Via Benedetto Croce, 44) and tell the old grandpa greetings from two Finnish girls! He’s very friendly and there’s lots of local wine and pasta there if you want souvenirs.

A tip, they’re being rude to you in Napoli because they hear you are from America – they don’t, I repeat, don’t like Americans. I suggest for Zuzana to do the talking :) In general they don’t like Americans in Italy but in Rome they just really want your money so they are polite…

Last but not least, I really suggest you go visit Sorrento while in Napoli. It was amazing, especially on a sunny day! Have fun there, I’ll start doing one of your workouts..

  • Monica Madeux

Great video and Thank you for sharing!!!
    Love,

    Monica

  • Marie

if you have time, and your budget allowes it, try to go to Sorrento, its very beautiful and from there you can go to the island Capri, very beautiful.
i totaly understand you, 2 years ago i did almost the same trip, i went from North- Italy to Napoli-Sorrento. Sorrento is OK but unfortunaly i had almost my purse stolen in Napoli, but i faught back ( im a strong woman :)) and the burgalor left ampty-handed, my friend was not so fortunate, she was waring very little almost unvisible yet golden earrings, a guy pulled them from her ears leaving her with cracked ears. Very sad i think and chocking to. Cause me as european i would (naïvely) think that european countries are safe for me, but thats whitout soud-italy taken in consideration. From my whole trip to Italy, Napoli
left a unpretty memery. Its a shame cause Napoli has a very strong history and lots of nice things to see and do, but the peoples mentality is not always ok.
anyway have a nice holiday and try to get tanned :)

  • Linda Forde

    Hi Zuzana & Freddy,
I can’t believe you were in Napoli, I was there the week before last when I got off cruise ship for the day. I am excited at the thought that I could have met you both, I would’ve been nervous! I agree that it is not my favourite place, I just did the city sightseeing tour and got back on our ship.
I have been a fan of yours for over a year at least now and have managed some of the workouts – my favourite is ‘Best Cardio workout’. However, I struggle with my motivation and healthy eating – I crave junk food. I keep hoping to get into your workouts again as I did see some results before when I did them.
    Safe travelling and enjoy yourselves!
    Love Linda (Ireland).

    Hi Zuzana, Freddy,

While you are in Napoli, try and head to Capri as it is incredibly beautiful and makes the trek to Napoli worthwhile! Good luck and be safe!

  • Stephanie

    Hi Zuzana and Frederick,
I’m glad you had a great time in Rome. I sympathize with your experience of Napoli. When my husband and I went to Rome, we were very young and our experience of it mirrored how you have been received in Napoli :( We were swindled at every corner, but hopefully if we ever go back, it will be a more pleasant experience! I hope you have a great time on your trip, and thank you for sharing it with all of us!
    -Stephanie

  • Heather

It’s great fun to see the two of you galavanting all over the world – especially because you’re enjoyable to watch, and so honest! About the rudeness you’ve experienced – perhaps being a city halfway between two volcanic areas has given people a case of the poopy pants! Or perhaps, because Naples is one of the largest historic cities in Europe, with one of the richest economies in the world…ahem…(they can largely thank tourists for that!)they feel an overly inflated sense of self-importance. Oh, and I suppose it doesn’t help that Napoli runneth over with black market corruption…
Whatever the case, the two of you need to treat yourselves to some spa action…or something. Either this, or next time, plan a trip to the African bush! Love, blessings and safe travels to you adorable peeps!

  • Sarah

Aww man, that’d be too funny if you crashed an Italian wedding! :P
It’s nice that you didn’t though. lol
Well, atleast now you know that Napoli isn’t the best tourist destination, and you don’t need to waste any more time there! other than that, I’m sure you guys will have a great time, and I look forward to seeing what other things your adventure will bring! :)

  • Ash

Be sure to take plenty of pictures of the islands for us.

    Hi;
I am a big fan of your workouts and love the fact that you are posting your travel adventures too. I really enjoy them.
Thank you for the great travel info and just pure enjoyment.

  • Stefano Tiburzi

Dear Zuzana and Freddy, Rome and south Italy are “the postcards” for tourists, and in similar way Florence and Venice. They are undoubtly beautiful and charming places, full of history, arts and astonishing landscapes.
Some zones of south Italy are not very raccomended, except those ready to suck your tourist-money. But there are more!
I’m from a little city in Marche, by the Adriatic Sea and it’s wonderful here all the year. The Middle Italy are less famous but americans, british and germans have discovered yet Tuscany and Umbria, that are similar to my place, excellent food and wines, kind people (not ready to rob you, if you understand), breathtaking landscapes.
If you like beaches and want not to give up on your workouts you should try the “Riviera Romagnola” especially Rimini or Riccione.
If you wanna see one of the most astounding and universal wonderful places you should go to Trentino-Alto Adige (or South Tirol, more precisely) in the Dolomiti region, I go there once a year and is always worth.
Enjoy Italy, all of it! And I hope some day we’ll meet!

    Stefano

haha! it is so nice to follow you guys around in this trip! I am going to italy in two weeks, to Lago di Garda, if you have the chance to go, just dont think about it! it is such a fascinating place to go! old small towns around a beautiful lake whith high mountains and great vegetation… I go every year to make a bike tour… well, what else to say, you both are so nice! keep enjoying the trip and spreading happiness around you!

  • Eric

    Hi Zuzana and Freddy,

I am following youre site (and yes doing the excercise ‘s) for a few months now and i think its incredible !! Im only a little curious about the following things that i couldn’t find in youre video’s or articles……

Do you live from the payments off the advertisments on the site, or do you have other jobs??

Why do you travel from place to place dont you guys have a permanent home adres??

Keep up the good work, and please respond!!

    Grtz,

    Eric

  • Camille

Hi guys ! Don’t be too disapointed with Napoli, you know, Roma is a really touristic place so people are more used to be warm with tourists. Napoli is also a southern italian city and I’m wsorry to say that it is more dangerous than Roma because of the mafias.

Next time you’re in Europe, try France ! I’m telling because I’m French, so it’s not an objective proposition at all ! But there are beautiful places everywhere in France and a lot of history too. Paris is not the only place to see, people should try the coasts more often. If you were to come one day, do’nt think French people are cold, actually a lot are scared by the idea of soeaking English lol.

By the way the shoes looked great on you Zuzana !
    Enjoy your trip !

the real beauty of italy is not because the turists hotspots, is actually far from it.go to ancona and see the beauty of the beachs,to numana and enjoy the hopitality of that little town -it’s gorgeus . I didn;t wanna go home from there, you can see the sea from the cliffs, it’s gorgeous, to puerto ricanati where on every Thursday people sell old stuff, antiquities . your mistake was this: you didn;t know the language. because of this tourists get a price and locals another. even if you had the bad experience in that restaurant, you should know that italians are really friendly and polite. next time, don;t go where everybody goes, not to all the “tourists polluted spots”.

    ps: I’m not an italian

  • Lloyd

Zuzana…don’t buy too much stuff now you hear. You will end up having to buy another backpack to fit it all in!

    lol

Take care and have fun you guys.

  • Antonia

you bad almost wedding crashers you!!! hahha!

I recently heard that most of all the statues before 1300 ad were accually in color and painted using eggwhites to make it stay…I dont know how true it is but I believe it.

wierd about the people at the resaurant, you think they would want to get a good tip! its wierd when people act like that when there is no basis that you give them and I do agree that its good and healthy to leave when you percieve anger …unkindness and the like metted out to you, I use to do the opposite and think I was being so strong and so good…it really took a toll on me to ignore basically my self for years and practically “thanked” people who not good to me!!!!! me). Trust me when I tell you for your own well being now and later….you did the right thing.

In the trains the air-conditionings have fallen out. Many people cannot leave her houses because the circulation does not take part in this. Especially older people it does not go well at all. But we wanted to have summer. Now he is there. Many greetings Christine

P.S. Your clothes looked fabulous! They were just jealous!

  • Melodie

You guys should check out Cinque Terra!
It’s a row of 5 cities and you can hike to each one. Don’t worry, when you’re done you can take a train back to the first one. Their are plenty of places to go swimming there too. It was a lot of fun!

  • Lina

    Hello!!
I´m sorry to hear that you didn´t have the best time at Italy. I love Italy, i lived there for some months, and i do agree with you about knowing and research before travelling in such a beautifull place. There are cities more vibrant, with very nice people, lots of culture, nice restaurants as Firenze, Milano, Lake como… i´m sorry and hope you might have another opportunity to go back to Italy and have a loook at the places i ´ve recomended.

  • Nicole

You guys look like you’re having so much fun! It’s awesome.

And those shoes were indeed amazing.

  • Charlene

You guys need to hop on a boat to Sorrento!!! It is just across the bay and it is soooo romantic and gorgeous and FRIENDLY!! It’s the home of Limoncello!!

  • Dawn

*sigh* While I really hope you guys are having the time of your life in Italy, I miss you all! LOL.
I didn’t realize HOW addicted I am to this site/your motivation until the workout updates stopped coming as often. I’m not complaining;) I am just saying you REALLY are a HUGE motivation for me. It took me nearly an hour to pick out a workout this morning. HAHA. ( I ended up doing the slap your ass from Feb. 18th. It was pretty intense!!! I worked up quite a sweat! It’s like when you post one, it takes part of the decision out of the process. I have found that on days that you post, I just do it. You posted a workout, there is no if’s or buts about it, it is what has to be done. When you don’t post one, I look for excuses. People like to have like to have it all laid out for them….. on low motivation days, you keep me going.
Miss you guys!!!! Have fun being happy and drunk Italy!!!

  • Katia

    meant to say husband.. lol

  • Gaby

Thank you guys for showing us your adventure,, every day I am looking forward to see what you are up to.

  • Assia

    Hi!
I want to ask you about nutrition: in one videos you’re saying that you eat 5-6 times a day, and on another – 6-8 times. I don’t get it: which one is better and which one do you use? and if I’ll eat 6-8 times a day (every 1,5 hours) won’t it slow down my metabolism instead of increasing it because the food I’ve ate is still in my stomach every time I’m going to eat again?

  • Julia

    Hi guys!!!
Your videos are very cool, funny and informative at the same time. Have a good holiday in every town of Italy from your list. Greetings from Poland! Come to us too:)
P.S: Great that you found bodyrockers almost everywhere you go! It’s very nice! And do not worry about unfriendly people, it happens everywhere. In Poland it also happens: Krakow is like Rome and Naples is more like our capital…:)

  • Lorena

Zuzana you are so lucky you get to drink wine cheese and pizza and not gain any weight. How can I loose 5 lbs in a week and what do I do about pms cravings?

  • Sandra

    Hey guys!

    I have a question :)

    how did you guys met!?

  • Vicky

    Hi guys :)

Hope you are enjoying your holiday still and can’t wait until your next instalment!

I was wondering if you’d ever tried bee pollen (or if any other members of the community had tried it)? I have started taking the granules as it is reported to increase energy levels and what with it being an entirely natural product, it is something I am happy to try. I am hoping that it will help my workout performance too. Just wondered if anyone had any experiences to share.

  • Sharon

Bee pollen is great! I know a few family and friends including myself that are taking it and it really has helped out alot. I’ve have been told that if your take bee pollen produced in the region you live in it also helps out with allergies.

    Hello, Zuzana and Freddy:

You guys are cool; I enjoy watching your Italian escapades. Freddy’s quips provide a good chuckle, like the sight of all those yachts squatting in Capri harbour “looking like D-Day.” (And hats off for visiting my Toronto). I stayed in Rome in 2008 for four nights, and I absolutely love Rome, too. (I’m overly infatuated with Roman Empire culture). I will definitely return. I hope you guys tossed a coin into the Trevi Fountain guaranteeing your return to the Eternal City!

Yes, even amongst Italians (I hail from the Calabria province), Naples (or “Neapolis” in its day) has the ignominious reputation of having the rudest and most arrogant people in Italy. Yes, it’s best to avoid the area! Whilst in Capri, I hope you had the opportunity to also visit the world-renowned Amalfi Coast, exploring its towns of Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Ravello, Praiano…you would LOVE this stretch of land (aka, “The Divine Coast.”) Sicily is breathtakingly awesome, too….I just love Italy…I’d better stop here!

I just wanted to say Hello (“Hello!”), offer my appreciation for BodyRock.tv, and share my love of Rome. Salute, Zuzana and Freddy!

  • dheana

    LOL!
My bf and I watched the end of this over and over…Zusana you’re so funny “I have to buy a swimsuit…I don’t have any” with such a look of feigned innocence! An excuse to shop!
It’s fun travelling vicariously through you guys! Thanks for sharing the adventure and being such an awesome example of thriving and possibility!
    Keep living your dream!

  • Amanda

Aw you guys are so cute!
So lucky to have gone to Italy.
I love love your videos of traving and working out!
    You guys are awesome.

  • Stephanie

    Hey Vicky,

Yes I eat Bee Pollen in the mornings with fruit and yogurt. I sprinkle some on top and it’s great. I don’t think I noticed an increase in energy but I just starting eating cause I also had heard about it’s benefits.

Another food that you should try and it’s truly a SuperFood is Quinoa(pronounced Keen-wah) it has sooooo many nutrients, minerals, vitamins, protein, iron…people could survive just on that. You can mix it into so many things and season it however you like.

    Anyways, hope that helped!

    Steph

    Hi Zuzana and Freddy,

Just want to say that your videos are outstanding. In fact, it is really cool to watch you guy’s talk and give you oppinion’s about your daily life on vacation. You guy’s rock and are a smart husband and wife team.
I would like to also say that you guy’s are a huge encouragement to me and others about fitness and lifestyle. Fitness and eating healthy has always been a priority with me.
Have a wonderful and blessed day!

    Hi Sabrina,

would you mind to tell us more about Florence? We couldn’t visit Florence this time, but we were thinking to come back to Italy soon and see other places like Tuscany and Genova.

  • Vicky

Thanks Sharon, glad you are liking bee pollen too. I am finding that I get an increased level of energy throughout the day, which is great. I will have to look for a source locally too, as I would benefit from a reduction in hayfever allergies too.
