Exercise Challenge – 60 High Knee Get Ups

Hi BodyRockers,

Freddy is feeling much better today and it looks like he will be alright. He wanted me to say thanks for the well wishes from you guys and that he promises he will never let me edit the videos ever again :) Today I have for you this mini challenge that will keep you moving and give your metabolism a solid boost. It is just one exercise and I always find it easier on a psychological level to push myself when I am just dealing with one set of movements. Update: My time for this challenge was 7:54 :)

Workout Breakdown

Time: ? min.Workout Type: Time ChallengeExercises: 1

Get your gear for this workout here:

    Instructions:

Set your interval timer as a stop watch and get your exercise mat ready. Start with 10 high knees as fast as you can. Drive your knees as high as possible while keeping your core tight, chest up and shoulders back and down. A very common mistake that I have seen people making is to shrug their shoulders so that they are almost touching their ears :)

This throws off your form completely so please stay focused the entire time to get the most benefits from this challenge. As soon as you complete 1o high knees drop down onto your exercise mat so that your belly and chest touch down. Then power up into the standing position. This is one round. Your goal is to complete 60 rounds as fast as you can while keeping proper form. Enjoy this challenge and share your score in the comments below.

    10 high knees

I just did this workout challenge! I gotta say, it was challenging towards to the end to keep my pace up. My time was 13 minutes and 45 seconds. I just started your workouts and so far your workouts have been so inspiring because it proves you dont always have to go to a fancy gym to work out! Thanks so much Zuzana and Frederick!

    • Ameliee

      took me 7:39

    • Sola

      My time: 12:40

I truly hate doing these in the evening, especially when I feel as full & bloated & unfit as I feel today. Guess my lunch portion was too big today…

    • Anonymous

No we have never had it. I love video games. Maybe we will get our own BodyRock.Tv game produced one day. It will feature Zuzana kicking out butts…

    • Silke

      Hi Sola,

I totally understand …. I fell the same :-). But after working out I´m always so thankful that both inspire us with there excellent homepage!!! Thank you!!!

    • Irene

My score. 8,5 Loved it…so simple and so great:))

    • Valentine

It was a really great challenge and i have to say, it was more wearying that i’ve expected ;). I got 13.45

    • Nina_CZ

I have the same problem here, I just cannot clearly imagine somebody doing it that fast! I have exactly the same chair as Zuzka has, and it was SO HARD, and so high :D I can imagine doing it on a lower step, box or something, can be much muuuuch easier, but with this height I was not able to be so fast. I wanna see realtime :D

    • Tanya

This would be a great category to include in your site along with your makeup bits!! I would be very interested in hearing/seeing your routine :)
      Great idea!

    • Jo

      9.32 mins

    • Charlyne

    • audrinasmommy

Is there any way you could do a video tutorial for these exercise challenges? Maybe its just me, but I cannot for the life of me understand the moves based the descriptions :/
I am a very visual person and with just 2 pictures, I am not understand the movement for any of them. I have not been able to do an exercise challenge since the jump ropes :(

    • Bodyrocker Melinda

      8:57 and I did 61 reps

So hard to keep counting the high knees plus the sets. I just kept marking strokes on my paper everytime after I completed 2 rounds.

    • Anu

OMG.. i hate knee ups!! my time was 12mins….can’t imagine doing in in 7mins!! one of those days when the body doesn’t listen to the mind :(

    • Stephanie

      9:13, tough one. Thanks!

    • Erica

Whew, 10.45 for me! That was tougher than it looked…but I find that’s often the case with your workouts Zuz, I always think “yeah I can do that” and then I do it and it kicks my butt!! Fun challenge :) keep ‘em coming!

14.59…I love your workouts and try to implement them as much as possible. I think this one was harder because I just got done shoveling snow but next time it will be a better time.

I did 600 in 30 mins was thinking the same either Zuzana is a “freak” in a nice way of course or just forgot a digit in front of her 9?? I’m sure its the later. I would like to know whether Zuzana you do some hard core weights? Big Fan.

Nice video – titles on the bottom are cool – it looks cold there!!!

      You earned your carbs!!!

    • Emily

First try at this workout yielded a 9:51 time. I’m new to BodyRock, but I’ve been running for years. I feel like I probably could have pushed the pace a bit more. Great way to get the sweat going before a cold winter run!

    • Michelle

7:27!! Although I may have done 61, lol. Kinda lost count near the end.

    • The Pink Ninja

It means you suck your belly button in towards your spine. Imagine you have a tight dress on and you want your stomach to look as flat as possible (and if you’re a guy, then I apologize for the dress analogy, since it won’t help you at all ;)

    • AnnaSirena

      I can’t catch me breathe…..
      Fuf)
      My time is 8:25

    • Victoriamesparza

Got it in 15 min 3 sec…. this is my first challenge so I am pretty happy

    • cucumber

I did this challenge today instead of the pull up bar-exercise, because I dont have any. haha, when my boyfriend saw me doing it, he said, it reminded him of his time in military ;)

    • Vanessa

It took me an hour to actually stop procrastinating and start this workout and 8:57 to complete it.
Pain and Sweat!! Every time I wanted to quit or slowdown I would tell myself that this is what I need to do to have a toned stomach like Zuzana’s.

      HI Zazana :D

what are the mistakes that I might make while doing your workouts which can HARM my knees??
and can warming up “alone” before exercising protect my knees from injuries?
BTW :BEST WORKOUT WEBSITE ON EARTH!!

    • AdamXcore

jesus. My time was 9:24, I was fairly happy with it until I seen some of the other times! But glad I did it under 10 minutes =] Ordered an interval timer today too so I can do the 20min cardio challenge, asif this workout wasn’t intense enough. My throat was on FIRE in the cold weather

    • Mary Lou

‘tossing items on the floor’, I like that, I think I’ll try it!

Unfortunately that’s not true. I wish it were. But a lot of it is genetic also. I’ve struggled with this – no matter how clean I eat and how much I exercise.

    • ange

In about a month, I shaved 1:14 off my time! I went from 9:46 to 8:32. Next time, I have to get under 8. Loving the progress… and the awesome defined abs I’m starting to see! Haven’t weighed myself or measured but I see such a difference. (Don’t care much about the weight anyway)

    • Renske

I did in 10:54 :) It was my first time. I thought I did it pretty quickly, but when I saw my time I was a bit disappointed. But … The next time I can improve :D

    • Renske

I did 60 rounds.. 10 knee ups and 1 down I count as 1 round. I think this is the way to do this..

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Gabby-Rodriguez/790883617 Gabby Rodriguez

      completed in 16min 48secs!

10:47… This was the first workout after 4 days doing nothing. So I’m not really happy with the result. It was really hard. But next time I will beat that score! :)

    • Laurie Skora

9:37 and I was dripping sweat at the end! Awesome :)

hey guys!  did this one at work tonight!  wasn’t sure what was going to explode first – my lungs or my heart!  lol
finished in 10 min 47 sec   somehow only a minute better than my previous score!
maybe it was the fact I decided to wear my pants that are too big for me tonight so I found out really quick that I needed to hold them up the whole time! lol
