Exercise Challenge – Side Plank Lift 200 Reps!

Hi BodyRockers!

Freddy and I are updating this exercise challenge from Barcelona Spain where we are exploring the city and doing Burpees Everywhere! We are taking a lot of pictures and some videos so we will be able to share our trip with you on Monday when we return home to Prague. If you ever get the chance to spend some time in Barcelona then be sure and experience this magical city for yourself. The food and atmosphere here is very warm and welcoming, and after the snow and cold of Prague it feels like we have stepped back into early October :)

Instructions:

Today we are doing Side Plank Lift exercise which will target your core, and your upper body. This exercise improves your strength,balance, and flexibility. Get into the starting position (see the featured image above) with your right hip down and your right hand on the floor underneath your shoulder for support. Your right arm is fully extended and all of the muscles on your body should be engaged. Lift your hips up off of the ground to position your body into a straight line (see the image below). Lower your hips down into the starting position in a controlled manner – this means that you are not dropping your hips down. People cheat this exercise by going for speed and not touching down with their hips for each rep. Another cheat is not going up high enough so that your body is in a straight line. Don’t be a cheater – be a BodyRocker and get the full benefits of this exercise. We are doing a 100 reps on each side. You can switch sides after 10, 20, or 50 reps depending on your strength and strategy. I was switching sides every 20 reps to give my other side a bit of recovery. I managed to complete the full 200 reps in 6 minutes and 51 seconds – without cheating. Freddy took 9 minutes and 5 seconds although he claims his strategy of going for 50 reps at a time slowed him down by burning him out early. I say it’s another point for the girls team :)

    O my goodness!!! This is going to b an absolute killer!!!! I remember having to do 50 one time on each side and i about died! Really looking forward to this challenge and to u two Sharon ur trip! I cannot wait to start traveling and exploring myself! You two be blessed and may ur spirits stay up :))))

    How it is possible you have big breasts even though you are exercising? I read we lose fat from breast during exercising…and i’m afraid to lose them :(

    I did it!!! Woohoo! That was so hard! My arms were shaking so bad. So funny. My score was 6.47!!! I tried really really hard not to cheat. I took your advice Zuzana and did it in 20′s. Good strategy ;)

    I’m in Spain too but somewhere a little warmer than Barcelona, the Canary Islands, I hope you have a good time in my country is a great country .. and unfortunately you can eat very well so I need your training …..

    Wow, that was tough! I did it in 8 min. 32 sec., but my form was not ideal, though I did not cheat. I did sets of 20 like you Zuzana. I am a guy, just in case you can’t tell from my fake name. More importantly I am a BodyRocker as of today.

    This was a good workout. Took me awhile cause my wrists kept wanting to give out and I consentrated on proper form. I’ve been a BodyRocker for about a week now. I’m so glad I found you though, I sweat more doing these workouts than when I lift and run in the gym. I look forward to seeing what the workout is each day. :)

    6min and 21sec :) Not going to lie I’d speed up at times because my arm felt on fire and barely touching my hip to the ground (which you consider cheating, tehe).
    I had to take a semi-break this week because my dog decided to bit my hand and leave a rather big hole in my hand. I’m back in action though!

    I am a bit behind on my workouts, I’ve been trying to do two a day to get ‘caught’ up (honestly I just wanna say i have done all the workouts since I started in Sept). I will be gone Mon-Fri this coming week, so I have written down all the workouts I am ‘behind’ on and will be doing them (and some of my previous ones) while in the hotel. I love that you don’t have to have all sorts of equipment to do these great workouts. And I love that quote “don’t be a cheater; be a Bodyrocker!” I will have that in my mind during each rep :D

    A few of us are lucky…major majority lose them depending on how small or fit your trying to get..you’ll never completely lose them don’t worry :)..I lost like half my size and they still look great!..it’s just the way of life and the name of the game, you will look great!!

    Interesting. I started doing these workouts on a regularly basis at the end of August and now I am taking my first week off. I needed this break; I lost some motivation, although the results of doing these exercises are great. I need time to rest, regroup, do some Christmas shopping and come back next week stronger.

    I missed my workout friday and Saturday, so i tried to do this yesterday after doing doing the workout that was scheduled for Friday. One word: Painful, especially the next day. It was my first time ever doing planks. I think I am hooked though.

    My time for this challenge is 7:31 and after 20 I switched every 10 reps. Can’t wait for a video of Barcelona. Did you & Frederick go on a fashion haul while you were there?

    i sprained my ankle badly last month and since then i havent done any workouts, and together with it my diet slacked…and in three weeks’ time it brought me back to my body state 3 months ago…
    but i’m happy that my foot is a lot better and at LEAST i still can exercise with it, and i did this workout for a head start
    although my time is really slow (okay it’s 18:38), i’m very happy that i can get back into bodyrocking again
    AND the fact that my body could regress back means that i CAN improve it if i really want to!
    so, many thanks to Zuzana and Freddie for your awesome workouts and your constant encouragements :)

    It looks easier than it is !!! My time 13 min. I thougt I am in a good shape. But that shows me that I have to get better ;-)

    it’s alright, I am not hurt. I do have augmentation on my breasts for over 3 years already, because I was flat as a pancake on my chest plus I had zero self confidence when I did that. I can’t say that I would recommend this kind of operation to other women – it’s painful and you might get complications, visible scars, etc.

    I did this last night as my second challenge of the day. I was going to do a challange in the morning and a workout at night but that didnt workout. I ended up with a sick kid and my day grew very long.
    My time was 7min30sec

    I dont know if I cheated or not, I got very tired at the end. I think I was not going high enough in the last 25 reps on each side. :-( My arm and shoulder started to feel it too! 7:20 min was my time.

    I did it in 8min…but i had to do most of the reps on my elbows :(
    I’ll do this more often until I can do most (or of course all) of the reps on my arm :)

    10:03 min. Huh, hard! ;) Have to did these like, that my lowers legs knee was on the ground.
