Today’s challenge is the first of a series of jump rope challenges that we will be doing this week in addition to our regular workouts. I hope you guys are excited about skipping because it is one of the best exercises for overall conditioning – plus as an added bonus it will improve your agility, co-ordination and endurance. BodyRockers want more for themselves than just to look pretty or handsome. The truth is there are a million physical challenges out there that you can face on any given day, and BodyRockers can handle them because we train for life.

- Jump Rope Jacks1000 reps (each jump counts as 1 rep)

Jump Rope Jacks are basically Jumping Jacks with a Jump Rope. Set your interval timer as a stop watch and complete 1000 reps as fast as you can (each time your feet touch the ground counts as 1 rep). If you have never skipped with a jump rope before or it’s been some time since you have, then take this challenge as a skill training instead of racing to get it done. Don’t get yourself frustrated, take your time and learn the skill, because we are going to be using this amazing exercise tool a lot and not only during this week. Remember to keep your core tight, elbows close to your body, chest up, and bend your knees slightly as you land to absorb the shock. Always land on the balls of your feet. It is recommended to wear cross training shoes with a good cushioning for your skipping.
