Sandbag

The sandbag has become one of our favorite tools for  pushing the intensity in wide variety of exercises. You can see it now in almost all of our routines. We love it because it is incredibly versatile – you can add or remove weight easily (we use 1kg bags of rice instead of sand) and if you drop it on the floor you don’t have to worry about damaging anything. The weight inside the bag shifts around which activates the stabilizer muscles and the more muscles you can recruit the more intense your workout will be. It’s a great overall tool for adding resistance and getting that extra kick into your home workouts. Zuzana uses the “Power” model Sandbag which can be loaded with up to 45lbs of weight. You can get your own sandbag by clicking here.

    Hello,

I just found this website, and everything looks amazing and legit!  I want to get started but I have a major concern: I have scoliosis

I can’t recall what the degree of my curvature is, but I do know that my curvature is big enough to interfere with my health at times, but is not noticeable physically.  You can see the slight uneven curves on the sides and a little limp when i walk.

I really dont want my scoliosis to be the reason why I dont exercise or do something good for my health.

    Hello Guys,
I really love your workouts, I just feel like the stuff I need to buy is very expensive,is there a way to get a dip station or a sandbag a little less expensive…?Keep gooing,I love your workouts and the positivity you bring to it!
    Thanks a lot,

hey-were you able to get the hot pink one?  thanks-
I also agree that the dip station is a must have……..i got the Ugi ball but the 10 lb to start out with is a little challenging- even though I have decent body strength- if doing it over I’d get the 8 (plus you can get a pink one). In any case, the equip they use is minimal compared to the thousands I have spent on benches; free weights, and bar bells (and still have by the way). :)

    Zuzana,

I’m WAY excited to start using my new Sand Bag. I need a base for comparison. How many fillers do you use? Total kg or lbs of your bag? Thanks!

Hi – we tend to use loose sand or rice – mostly rice tho :) I’m guessing Z uses about 10-15kg depending on what she is doing :)

A Bodyrocker made a comment a few weeks ago that she was making her own sandbag out of a cooler bag. I am working on doing the same thing with a cheap cooler bag from my supermarket – I’m just re-sewing the handles shorter (and stronger to hold the weight!) and putting some new handles on too to be able to use it like Zuzana does (she holds it both longways and width ways to do certain exercises.) I am not the worlds best sewer, but it is coming along okay!
