Wow Booty Workout 2010 – Beating Our Records

Hi BodyRockers,

As I mentioned in the video our little competitions around these workouts are suppose to be just for fun. Some of you have posted in the comments that you are embarrassed to post your scores because as a beginners you guys feel like your times or scores are not good enough. Let me tell you that each one of you should be proud of whatever you accomplish with your workouts as long as you are pushing yourself and beating your own personal bests. It is fun to compete with others and you might get some extra drive out of it, but the race that matters is with yourself. Do not compare yourself to anyone. For Freddy and I it is fun to compete against each other in these workouts, but we know that we each have our own strengths and weaknesses. I really encourage you to post your times and scores in the comments even if you see that others are faster or stronger. Personally I find it incredibly inspiring when I see my old posts and scores because it shows not only my improvement, but also my history of working out. You guys can leave a little piece of your sweat and effort here on the site as a testament to your efforts and dedication in the comments.

Enjoy your workout!
Zuzana & Freddy

Get your gear for this workout here:

Instructions:

You will need your Interval Timer and your Sandbag. This workout is made up of 3 parts. The first and the last part is the same and you have to set your timer for 16 rounds and two intervals. The first interval is 5 seconds (rest) and the second interval is 10 seconds (your max effort). You will push hard for the high knees and then you will get down onto your exercise mat and rest for 5 seconds before your power up and continue. The second part of this workout is Full Body Exercise with Sandbag and your goal is to complete 30 set as fast as you can. The last time I did this workout I finished the second part in 7 minutes and 54 seconds, so today I will try to be faster. Check out the video tutorial below to see how to do each exercise properly and also the easier variations for beginners.

Ok, this was my 2nd workout from bodyrock. I am definitely out of shape but I trudged through it. I am a 43yr old male 6’1″ about 195lb but no muscle. This really made me sweat. I did all 3 parts except I did the easy pushups. My time in Part 2 was 9 minutes and 36 seconds.

I have always had trouble disciplining myself to workout. Hopefully, since I am sweating a bunch in this small amount of time, I can motivate myself to continue.

  • Kirry

Im going to start this work-out in a hour, but im very confused about the 4 minute interval training: (maybe it has been discussed, but i dont see any comments yet). 16 rounds of 10 + 5 sec is 2 min and 40 seconds. Now.. I’m the worst in math upto an embarrassing level, so I kept trying to find my own mistake. Am I overlooking something?

    Kind Regards.

  • Kirry

Oh, nevermind. I found out what I did wrong: It has 32 rounds (16x 5sec and 16×10 sec), so together it’s 4 mins. I’ll just ..euhm…shut it and go do this exercise. :)

Btw, have a pleasant new years eve.

  • Kathy

    Yeeesss…I beat my last score.
My time for the second part of this workout was 5:04min and I really gave my max. effort!!!
    The last time was 7:19!
It´s so amazing to see the improvement!

Thank you Zuzana and Freddy – have a happy new year!!
And happy new year for all the bodyrockers!!!

    All the best for 2011!!!

  • Elena Ioan

He-Hey! Happy New Year from Canada!

  • Rachael

Oh my that was hard. The last 6 rounds of the highknees seemed to last forever. I havent been that sweaty for a very long time. It felt great though afterwords. Thanks for that Booster at the end of the year. Now we can start all energyzed right into 2011.

Wish you and Freddy and all the other Bodyrockers a great New Years Eve and all the best for 2011!
Hope you guys will enjoy the last night of the year.

You are right – things never go planned on this night – thats why I invited a bunch of friends to my place and after dinner, everything is possible. =)

  • Samantha R

I love this workout, especially now I have my sandbag. It had 12k in it today and I finished the second part in 5:09 – over 2 mins quicker than my previous time. Happy New Year to everyone – hope you all have a fab New Years Eve. Sx

  • Slobodanka

  • Nino_nonna

I loved the full body exercise! I can almost do a push up and my legs felt so much stronger in the squats. They took me 12 minutes to complete but I did them ALL!!!

Health and Happiness to all the BodyRockers!!!

  • Irene

8,27. Did not count the reps in the 4 minutes part. Amazing how you always put together a super workout. So impresse…..this is the best thing that happened to me this year finding your incredible site. Thank you for all the great workouts of 2010:o)) May 2011 give you all you wish for…

    Best Irene

  • hilary

Does anyone have any advice for planning/learning/watching these workouts while actually working out?
Some of the moves are not ones I am familiar with and having the tutorials as a go to in my workout room would be a huge help. I have a TV, DVR and DVD player in there, but no computer. My Droid X would be too small to follow along with while I work out. Any ideas?

  • Mary Lou

Brutus is alive and well in Central Mass, but I pushed past him in 8:09 with 20 lbs of dumbbells in a bag.

  • AudraFit

    Hi Zuzana,

I used my 35lb duffelbag and have a new PB of 7:29 and that’s 30 seconds faster than back in September. I’m gonna catch up with ya & do Epic Abs later on today.

happy new year!!!! thanku for everything

This was a fun workout :-)

  • Cricri from the French Riviera

Hi Zu and Freddy, and Bodyrockers,

    Happy new year !!!

  • Barb

I love this workout! I loved it the first time back in September, and was excited to see it again. I have no idea how, but I beat my old time on Part 2 by almost 2 minutes! I must have messed up my counting, so I did a few extra to make sure I did all 30. My old time was 8:20 and today was 6:34. I REALLY pushed to get that. I stopped for a couple of breaths (more like gasps!) after each 10. When I saw my time after the 2nd 10, I thought I might have miscounted because there is no way I could drop that much time.

Can’t wait to do another workout!

  • Dee

    Hello, Zuzana, Freddy, and BodyRockers,

First thank-you Z & F for all the hard work and dedication u guys give to this site and all the encouragement u give us. I’ve been following ur workouts for the past couple of weeks and they have been tons of help ( I’ll be sending u before and after pic’s in a couple of months). I was really thinking of skipping this workout b/c of all the activities I had planed for today, but instead I decided to get up earlier to do my run and to do ur workout…. Now I’m off to the beach for the rest of the day and to celebrate the New Year this evening w/ friends, and I’m looking forward to tomorrows workout.

P.S. I do ur Workouts the following day after u post them.

  • Heather

This was perfect! Intense enough but not over the top. Didn’t have much energy or time to do more than this. As always, thank you so much.

  • Sinersgirl

Great! Thanks for the workout. Perfect!!
    Part two: 5:34

    Happy New Year! whoo hoo

My two year old son loves working out with me. He squats, runs around and grunts like mommy. funny.

  • http://delightfultastebuds.wordpress.com Jos

I’ll postpone this workout until next month since I just did it 2 weeks back. Instead I did Bang Bang Workout and overall I beat my personal record :)

Happy New Year 2011 to you and Freddy and to all of the BodyRockers!

  • Renchux

Thank you for the awesome workouts. I’m sore all over and I’ve been following your workout schedule for 2 weeks now. I love it. I did this workout yesterday and i finished the second part in 7:48 min with a 20lb dumbbell (no sandbag).

  • http://jim-wandering.blogspot.com/ Jim

Well, made this my first BodyRock.Tv workout. And also my first for 2011. Killed me. [smile]

Had to do the Sandbag Full Body Exercise in 3 parts (x10) and got a combined time of 4:19 with 5 kilos

The hardest part is keeping good form when you really get fatigued.

Thanks Zuzana & Freddy. Happy New Year to you both from chilly Mongolia (-35C/-31F)

  • Ilovesta Rosa

    part 1 – done
    part 2 14 mins and 17 secs
    part 3 -done

  • Camille

This is going to be my New Year’s day workout. I LOVE high-knees, they always KILL ME!

Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year to you and Freddy!

  • Camille

    16 rounds X 15 seconds = 240 seconds = 4 mins

    240 seconds /60 seconds per minute = 4 mins

Good luck and happy new year!

  • Michelle (SA)

Great workout. Completed exercise challenge in 8 minutes 14 seconds.

    Txs

  • Jamest

I have the same problem. I think I spend more time watching the videos than doing the actual workout.

What I do is watch the videos a few times (some camera angles cut out feet/arms). Then do a dry run to make sure my form is correct, and I’m not wasting time during the workout thinking “is that right?”

I feel better knowing I’m not the only one.

  • Polina

Zuzana, you loook amazing in both videos!

  • Jessica Entrekin

5:59!! (we all know parts 1 and 3 took 4 minutes). Loved this one!

  • Stephanie

5:22, I did it with two 10lb weights since I don’t have a sandbag. 24 then 24 1/2 for parts 1 and 3 for high knee reps. I find it really helpful to know a good time for these exercises since I work harder when there’s an outside goal. Then the 2nd time, I try to beat my own time but still shoot to achieve the better time.

  • Anonymous

Hi and congratulations! There are exercises that will work your chest muscles, however women can never get tight chest like guys from exercising. When it gets saggy, it’s saggy forever. I do not suggest that you get implants tho. If I had to choose right now I wouldn’t have done it.

  • Anonymous

Mine was 14:30. The bookbag I used with added water jugs wasn’t 30lbs but it was heavy-ish for me. I’ll work up to it being heavier. I think it was 10lbs?

I did this before but I didn’t log the time. I remember it being hard that first time. It still is hard but I made it!

  • Zoe Quixote

ok…so, i was going to do the amazing fat burn today, but instead i did 9/6 seconds with the high knees and commando push-ups for the first interval training, then after the 30 sandbag things (5:33; again, my weight is only 10 pounds), i did this 10/5 interval training. awesome!
after a few minutes rest, i did 4 pull-ups, twenty air kicks; 1 minute rest, 4 pull-ups, 20 air kicks.
    i am
    ..
    destroyed…

    :D

  • http://zoe-in-wonderland.blogspot.com Zoe Quixote

ok! i did it again, same way, but this time, 4:33!! still only ten pounds, but i beat my time!! :DDDD
i finished with pull-ups and air-kicks yesterday, so today, 25 reverse push-ups. yay!
    thanks!!

  • ♥ BodyRocker Rachel ♥

    Zuzana and Freddy,

    Exercise challenge: 9:42

I have to admit, I didn’t push myself as hard as I could have. When I looked at the time and saw how long it was taking me, I sped things up in order to finish the last few reps. Had I been pushing at that higher level of effort from the beginning, I could have reaped more benefits. Now I know!

  • Zouzou

One of my favorite workouts EVER.Never get tired of it.

  • Anonymous

    Short but effective workout.

    Old score 30 June 2011 with 5kg Sandbag 6.34
    Today with 8kg Sandbag 6.12
    So happy with my progress.

    Have a wonderful day all.

This one for me on Thuesday 6.10.11

    + 15 min Skipping (10/30)

  • http://www.facebook.com/ildiko.mazar Ildikó Sünci Mázár

What the heck, I did this one today as well after the Quantum of Sweat workout. The two together were major dehydrators, so they also helped me decide about what we’re having for dinner tonight – soup :-)
My time for part 2 was 5:23, and my parts 1 and 3 were not as bad as I anticipated (I thought my legs would be too heavy to lift after 2 minutes or so, but I was quite stable and steady all the way through).

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

First time for this workout and LOVED it!!  used 22lb sandbag for Part 2 – 6:07  Followed with a big burpee for Erin and then 5 sets of the following:  10 ball passes with 8lb ugi & 5 alternating 1-leg pike press push ups.  I feel great going into my day.  I hope you all do too.

    Thanks Zuzka & Freddy! :)

  • jacky~

omg i only finished the first and second exercise… i couldn’t bring myself to do the third exercise… hopefully next time i’ll be able to accomplish more… it’s unfortunate that i just recovered from a week and a half long flu.. my body still feels weak and guess it shows on the scores of my exercise as i lacked the endurance that I used to have :(

here is my score for part 2:
7:17 improvised with a 3.78L juice jug as my sandbag.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

    Thanks Gwyn!!  :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Gwyn, toooo funny…I can’t workout with my dog Katie watching me.  She usually gives me concerned looks, cocks her head or comes and flops next to me to play – all which make me limp with laughter.   Attached is a pic of us today on top of Carlton Peak in the Sawtooth Mountain range along Lake Superior.  It was a four hour rounder…very steep…my hips are hollering for a rest day tomorrow (and they will get it) :) !

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

I’ve been spending a LOT of time in a boat fishing this week since my husband and I have vacation together.  Yesterday was a 12 hour day on the water and I think that was the fuel behind my good workout today…I have to seize my time on land to workout when I can.  But I was pretty proud to rock this nice walleye…functional fitness for ya!

  • http://www.facebook.com/felinemenina Anna Carolina F

    Part 2:
    30reps in 5:32 min
    +20more in 8:53min

I had to skip my skipping because of pain in my shinbones :( . Perhaps it´s better to add the skipping routine on Monday again.
    Instead of that:

    15min time challenge:
    1) Hanging Knee Raises- 10reps
    2) Wide High Knees (after 5th round I had to cut the High Knees->shinpain) -SB Dead Lifts -10reps

    completed 11round, 10HKR, 7 DL

    *SB= 15kg

Hopefully I´m not getting ill…feeling weak today.

3:54 with a 15kg sand bag.  The second set of high knees killed me!

  • Anonymous

ok, last time, i didn’t remember there’s a full stand-up between the push-up and the low-jack with weight… i pulled up the sandbag with me. this time, i stood up fully, then went down for the sandbag.and also i did the 9/6, high knees and commando push-ups, instead of on-your-belly.
    5:58
burpee for erin, 10 lunges for kristin.
thanks guys, i love this one!!

  • Gerrilee Schafer

Well, that’s one way to wake up on a Sunday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I averaged 23-25 high knees in the first round, 24 in the second round.  I used 25 lb in my SB and had the exact same time as my last go with this work out.  6:21
