The Calm Before the Storm :)

Hi BodyRockers,

Today we took it relatively easy by doing 1000 free-style skips at a moderate pace. Just something to keep moving before launching tomorrow into the first new workout of 2011 with incredible fury. You can either rest today in preparation for what is coming tomorrow, or you can go back and try one of the older routines. We are starting the run up to summer tomorrow – so that we have ample time to make some massive improvements before the summer arrives. By giving ourselves this much runway we stand the best chance of getting in the best shape possible in time to really live the summer the way it was meant to be experienced – in health and with confidence and high self esteem. It’s important to remember that it is not just about looking better and changing our body compositions. Everything about who and what we are is interwoven and intertwined. Feeling better about yourself effects everything in your life, from your relationships, to your job and career – none of it is separate from how we feel about ourselves. Starting tomorrow we are going to push really hard towards the summer, and I hope that you guys will pull together as BodyRockers wherever you are and make these next few months really count for yourselves. I have a new strategy that I am going to share with you guys tomorrow about how we can make extra progress towards our fitness goals each day – and Freddy and I are really looking forward to getting started.

See you guys tomorrow!

I need A LOT more practice with the jump rope. For some reason I CANNOT do it! I can only do 1, mayyyybe 2 jumps before I whip myself with the rope! So, I have a lot of practicing ahead of me, especially if we’re going to be doing 20 minutes of moderate jump-roping after each workout!!

I ended up doing the jump rope movement without the rope for 1,000 jumps, which I know was not as intense… :(

I completed this workout today. I walked two miles in the morning than took two ten minute breaks during the work day to get in my 1000 skips. I do not have an actual jump rope so for variety I alternated between regular hops, jumping jacks, high knees, side to side, front to back, single leg (left then right), nordic, and heel toes. It was fun!
