Hi BodyRockers,

First,
Sorry that we missed you yesterday. We left our house in Prague before dawn, and 17.5 hours later we put down our bags at our hotel in Los Angeles. Everything about the trip went smoothly, it was just really long.

Our first celebrity encounter didn’t take very long – while we were fishing for our luggage at the baggage carosel at LAX, Brad Pitt stolled up and right by Zuzana. I was a bit further off but I think maybe I was the one who was the most excited. We are taking it as a good sign that we will have a fun trip here.

We are staying right on Sunset Blouvard for the duration of our trip here, and we will be talking lots of pictures of everything we see and do here.

I just wanted to tell you about our first night here in L.A. Last night we had dinner with BodyRocker Kaja (you can see her post here) and her husband.We went to Katana Sushi Restaurant which was jammed with people and rightly so – the food, service and atmosphere was amazing. It was one of the best restaurants that I have ever been to and I really enjoyed the company of our new friends. Kaja and I seem to click because we are both Taurus and have a very similar interests. She looks great in her pictures, but even better in person – she has 3 kids and looks fantastic, always smiling, and full of positive energy. It’s so great to have a friend here already :)

Today we are meeting with Will from CAA for a quick bite (CAA is not the Canadian Automobile Association like my Aunt thought – haha) to go over our itinerary for this week. After lunch we are going to meet back up with Kaja and hang out with her for a bit. We will take lot’s of pictues and keep you guys updated on what is going on here.

Our hotel room is really nice, and it turned out to be roomy enough for us to workout in, so we will be posting from here all this week. We are going to revisit some of our favorite body weight workouts all this week which are perfect if you are traveling, on the run from the law, or just have a small workout space :)

Freddy took this picture by the pool – I realluy like it, because it is a perfect reflection of the atmosphere that you can sense in this hotel.

    As a poor university student, I am totally envious of all the trips you two take! But I love following along, and dream of the day when I can travel so much!

    P.S. I rocked my 5k race today and it was all because of bodyrock!! My time was 25:44 and being the first race of 2011, I have my standards set and I am ready to beat my time on the next one! I plan on doing this by being consistent with my high intensity training!

    I am SO stoked to hear that you guys are meeting up with bodyrockers while jet-setting. Its kind of like the start to your overall plan of meeting up with bodyrockers from all over.     Ah! I am kicking myself for not being in LA right now, as I just moved away after living there for 2 years :( But I know you have plenty of Bodyrockers who can take my job of trying to stalk you while you’re there ;)

    I know you’re going to get a million different suggestions for things to do, places to see, etc. But nevertheless I’d still like to shoot you guys a recommendation for an experience that is incomparable to anything else you’ll likely come across in LA or anywhere else in the world for that matter. If you have a spare moment & are in the mood for letting someone else kick your awesome bodyrock behinds for a change, check out the Xflowsion class at the Yogashelter in Studio City. The class is somewhat of a Celeb favorite, & I can say from personal experience, it rivals the intensity, challenge, & (fun!) of the workouts we do here. You will be ‘swimming in a pool of your own sweat,’ as Zuzana would say ;) But more than just an amazingly brutal workout, is the community at this VERY non-standard, atypical, yoga studio, which reminds me so much of this community here on bodyrock. The owners who are both centrally involved at the shelter, Eric & Lisa, are AMAZING, the ESSENCE of positive energy & spreading it to others, & such inspirational characters who challenge their friends (because you become far more than just students here) to be the best and to go after the life they want. I just feel like your energies would just mesh so well together, & know that Zu would just love it!
    If your schedule is just to jam packed, I’d definitely say make another trip to LA just to try this class ;)
    I’m counting the days until I can move back juuust so I can get back to the yogashelter :) Hope you guys have a blast in LA & do many burpees across my beautiful home!
    (Oh & lastly, Zuma beach in Malibu is by far more beautiful, clean, relaxing than Santa Monica, & Paradise Cove is an awesome place to catch a bite to eat RIGHT on the beach–with your toes in the sand, doesn’t get much better)

    I’m glade everything is going well. And I see there are what half a million people who want you to visit personally with them while you’re in LA! That seems reasonable! :-) I guess the next time you’re only a few hour ferry ride away I will have to get you to visit with us Seattleites!

Living just 20min from Hollywood/LA area I know there’s more then plenty enough to keep you guys busy and active during your trip.     Definitely go to Venice beach. Muscle beach has Golds gym were bodybuilders workout at. On the boardwalk you will see lots of people exercising, running, rollerblading, surfing, bikeing. You can also rent bikes on the beach. If you check out meetup.com it is a website you put in your zipcode or city and then your interest ie yoga and it will show classes in the area. On my last trip to Newport Beach I found a beach workout. Will you be going to Universal Studios or Disneyland on your trip. Have FUN!!!!!

    If the creative agency has any sense, they’ll be falling over themselves to sign you up! I can just imagine something like a series to tie in with your website, where Zuzana has a slot that includes a special 10-minute workout you can follow on TV live every day, and answers a couple of viewer workout/diet questions. How cool would that be? As long as you still have the time to continue the fantastic work on this site, of course ;0D

    Oh, and I hope that sports brand CEO who changed his mind about working with you because of your past is REALLY kicking himself now!
