Ive always wanted to have a six pack and be toned, and with your workouts I’m finally getting where I want to be.  I have been doing your workouts 4 times a week for two months now, and I’m loving the results.  Every time I start feeling lazy I look at all the bodyrockers and I get the motivation I need to keep going, makes me feel I’m not alone.  Not only am I following your workouts but also some of your diet challenges, but I have to admit that my biggest weakness is ice cream, I love it and I can’t get enough, I eat it all year long.  But again with the help of your workouts and your inspiration I’ve been able to cut down in ice cream, I’m not eating as often as I used to or as much as I used to.  People tell me that I shouldn’t worry about eating ice cream, that I’m skinny and therefore can eat all the ice cream I want.  I don’t believe that’s right, because if I have the body I have its because I take care of it and I know that ice cream is not the best way to go when I’m trying to get a six pack.

    Thanks for your post! I´m a bodyrocker too, I´m not quite were you are yet, I just do the workout 2-3 times a week, but you inspire me to do more! My biggest weakness ist icecream too. Rock on, you look fantastic!

    I am truly inspired by what you have done with your body. I have been falling your workouts from the begining. I wish that I could be as dedicated as you but I have a weakness for food in general. I am trying though. Hey, don’t let Freddy go away anymore. We miss the awesome picture taking he does.     It’s important not to listen to those people telling you that you can eat whatever you want because you’re skinny! I was one of those people telling that to myself. All was fine until I got older and my metabolism slowed down a bit, then fat started sneaking onto my body and I didn’t notice until I had gained 17 pounds (I was actually losing muscle, too, so it was even worse than 17 pounds).

    So true! I’m also one of those skinny type and people often tell me to just eat whatever I want…BLAH! I did that once before I gained about 15 lbs and I hated how I looked! Getting 6 packs abs is not an overnight job, and not because eating whatever, but eat healthy, nutritious food will get us there. You look great!

    Hi Janeth,

    If you have a low body fat percentage right now probably building muscle is more important than losing more fat to achieve definition. But, ice cream does have a high potential to increase body fat depending on how your body uses it’s carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. I think if you do Zuzana’s workouts you should be ready for summer.

    I agree on the ice cream. My downfall was (!!!) peanut butter and chocolate Haagen Dazs by the pint. I went cold turkey and now when I try a taste it amazes me how it feels and tastes like concentrated sugar and fat. UGH!
    I am always working on ways to clean up my diet. Sometimes I have to fast for a day or two to understand what I am eating. Now I try to focus on how I feel after the meal rather than just the meal itself. I want to feel great AFTER I eat…I hate feeling overstuffed, sleepy, and oversugared and I am becoming much more aware of that shift. I get really happy after I avoid temptations (everywhere!) and I eat clean and feel good. It is an ongoing process…

    I agree on both accounts.

    There are people who seem to be able to eat whatever they like and never gain. But do you want to have their cardiovascular system at age 40?

    I think all of us tuned into bodyrock want to stay healthy and well. We watch our diets not so much to stay or be slim, but because we have respect for this fabulous body that carries us around, breaths, recovers, heals, dances, bodyrocks …

    Yes sadly as we age we naturally begin to lose muscle – and it does begin in our mid thirties (women, men too but more in their 40′s and 50′s). The muscle loss becomes significantly more rapid as we get into our 50′s. So great idea to bodyrock and have some muscle to lose!

    There is nothing wrong with occasional treats. Heck you have to give yourself a bit of love and if that’s an ice cream or a beer once in a while I say go for it. What is life about if you live it jonesing for something all the time.

    I was a big fan of Pistachio Ice Cream and quit a few years ago. Now when I eat Ice Cream it seems to be mostly fat and it leave me feeling a bit unsettled usually afterward. A bit like really greasy meats.

    Hey Janeth,
    reading your comments, (and most bodyrockers’) below, makes me a bit sad that the marketing campaigns of diet-aimed products have managed to consolidate certain myths about diet and fitness. Not that being deprived of ice-cream is a life tragedy or anything, but it’s also largely irrelevant, so it’s a shame that people feel obliged to not enjoy (responsibly, of course) their favourite things. I like Zuzana’s ‘weakness’ challenge because I feel it’s more about discipline, and also the chance to identify a weakness and assess whether you’re overdoing it, and sabotaging your efforts as a result. But the truth is, you could go on an ice-cream only diet if you really wanted to, and, while not necessarily the healthiest, you’d still end up losing weight if you did the right things alongside. I’ve lost 8 kg (and gained some muscle) in the last 4 months by following proper advice (not very dissimilar to Zuzana’s), and I can honestly say I’ve never felt deprived of any favourite food. Obviously I haven’t splurged irresponsibly on anything, but I’ve had my doughnut or cake (my weakness is those pecan caramel bites from Starbucks!) when I really wanted one. And this, to the dismay of my flatmate who has been on a fruit-and-salad-only diet and still looks flabby, because he’s relying on myths and doing it all wrong!

    So, +1 in the marketing vs facts war, I guess.

    Anyway, having said all that, you look amazing, so you must be doing ‘something’ right.

    and just like Jessy said muscles are hard to get (Ive been struggling to get them) you’ll start seeing results as you work out and you can decide how far you want to take your work outs and your results, as far as what I do; I do Zuzana’s work outs 4 times a week plus some running, not much just 2 miles two times a week and I watch what I eat

    First of all I sprout them… take a look at this site: http://sproutpeople.org/seeds/nuts.html
    Secondly, just draining off the water (after the overnight soaking), the nuts R much softer now, their texture & taste like ice cream when frozen !!! I just pop them in their close jar in the freeze. It is that simple !!!
    (when I put them in the refrigerator they just don’t stay fresh so long, & they might smell bad, the freezing can keep them up fresh to 3 weeks…! but I like making my nuts twice a week / every 3 days, cose it’s D*mn so easy to do..) I also sprout a LOT of legumes: lentils, beans, etc etc…

    Im very motivated by your story but I dont plan on giving up my ice cream completely Im definitely cutting back on it, now I can go a month without any ice cream but when I eat it Ive also cut down the portion I dont eat as much as I used to and on the contrary for me it tastes so much better after all the time that I go without it….
