Give Me Everything Workout

Hi BodyRockers,

Zuzana and I were thinking about how cool it was when we first read in the comments one of you reffer to yourself as a ”BodyRocker”. In that moment I think that our little blog turned into a true community. What we love most about being BodyRockers is the real connection that we have with the other people who are supportive, and share similar interests.

On the weekend while Zuzana and I were strolling through the Lacma museum in Los Angeles a girl approach me and started doing Burpees right in front of me. You can’t even imagine how cool that experience was to randomely bump into another BodyRocker who instead of saying ”hi guys” just immediately started popping Burpees in the middle of the museum without a second thought. This was super original and we will never forget this. Fortunatelly BodyRocker Tia was willing to be on the video with Zuzana and they both tried a Burpee together. Zuzana’s attempt at a Burpee was unfortunately foiled when her ass crack popped out mid Burpee. You can check out the Burpee video of Zuzana and Tia on our Facebook page here. For those of you who are interested in our new house tour video it’s on our facebook page as well :)

Best,

Freddy & Zuzana

Workout Breakdown

Time: 12min.Workout Type: Interval trainingExercises: 4
  • One Leg Dead Lift with Sandbagmax. reps
  • Jump Jacks with Jump Ropemax. reps
  • Knee Raisesmax. reps
  • Breakdance Push Upsmax. reps

Get your gear for this workout here:

Instructions:

Set your timer for 12 rounds of two intervals. The first interval is 10 seconds and the second (work) interval is 50 seconds. There is a circuit of 4 different exercises and your goal is to complete as many reps as you can during each 50 second interval. The circuit looks like this:

1. One Leg Dead Lift with Sandbag Left Leg

2. One Leg Dead Lift with Sandbag Right Leg

3. Jump Jacks with Jump Rope

4. Knee Raises on Dip Station

5. Jump Jacks

6. Breakdance Push Up (alternating sides)

This circuit is 6 minutes long so you will go through it twice to complete the 12 minutes.

One Leg Deadlift with Sandbag

Stand on one leg, bend over pushing your hips back and grab the handles of your Sandbag. Your back is straight and the knee of your standing leg is slightly bend. Engage your core and butt and lift the Sandbag off of the ground. If you are leaning towards one side then you are not tensing the muscles on your leg properly. Focus on your form instead of rushing for the sake of beating me in reps ;)

My score:

Round one – 17 reps on both legs

Round two – 14 reps on both legs

Jump Jacks (with jump rope)

These are basically jumping jacks with a jump rope so you will be jumping your feet appart. Keep your knees bent a little throughout this exercise.

My Score:

Round One – 48, 48

Round Two – 47, 45

Knee Raises (on Dip Station)

This is an amazing exercise for sculpting your abs.

My Score:

Round One – 22

Round Two – 20

Breakdance Push Up

Start in the Crab pose and then rotate your body towards the left side sliding your left leg under your right leg. Get into the one leg push up position and do a push up. Reverse the movement to get to the starting position and alternate sides for each rep.

Beginners can do the push up off of their knees, intermediates will do a regular push up and everyone else will try for the one leg push up.

My Score:

Round One – 11

Round Two – 10

I like this workout, it is “simple”. I ‘m going to make it with “Survivor workout “ that you give today.

Oherwise, it would be good to have a post about Diet(like a forum or one which stay on the top). Because I noticed that Bodyrockers don’t return on old post. And when we (new bodyrockers) have questions, or need precision, there are often no answers of the blow…:-(

WHat do you think about this ?

    • http://www.facebook.com/indomavel Patricia Grade

Vivi, I actually think you’re absolutely right!

We should get our own forum on the diet matter. Old posts are hard to track here, but we could get some arrangement to talk about our problems with the diet in a forum just for that…
If we could get the other bodyrockers in…

I’m very proud to be a bodyrocker and my kids always remind me that I’m a cool mom ’cause they can’t imagine other moms burpeeing like I do…

Thanks Zuzie and freddy for that, and all other bodyrockers for keeping me company on those hard days when the workout and diet get so haaaaard!

      • Vivi

I am well conscious that already makes it to you a lot, and a forum ask a lot of time, with moderator to valid comments etc…but perhaps it could be easier to put a picture on the right on your site, as you already put with “all workout” or when you presents us bodyrocker. So the picture can stay all the time on the right, and I think bodyrockers will be more tempted to look at it ad so can directly clik on to put comments, and answers to our questions.
And recipes continue to appear on your part “Food & Diet” with your Diet challenge and your advice Zuzy

What do you think about it Zuzy and Freddy ?

    Hi Freddy and Zuzana,

I love this community and that Tia used the Bodyrocker “handshake” we had talked about!  So now Burpees are our secret handshake!  :-)

Seriously we need to have a summer meet up Zuzana and Freddy.  I think it would be great  fun if done right.

  • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

Zuzanka! :) I noticed that now you can look at yourself in mirror during the workout. Do you like it? During my workout I like look on my reflection (?), but I have only small mirror and tv screen :D for this. I like it even though I’m super concentrate on my exercises at the same time. :)
You and Freddy have a beautiful, nice house! :) Have a good time in this space. :) I think it’s so great that You have stand-alone space for workouts. :) NICE! :)

Cool workout, I’ll do it today. :)

    Greetings!

recently I put up a big mirrow in “the training area of my bedroom” and it is really good motivation. Not only can you allways see if you are keeping the good form, but it also motivates and you feel proud when you see yourself dripping in sweat :) hehehe

      • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

yes! I feel exactly the same. :)

  • Ramonapetto

Where are you guys getting your sandbags and how much weight are you using?

    • http://twitter.com/GoustiFruit GoustiFruit

I’m using a little backpack and filling it with books. About 8kg only but the bag is not easy to grab so it does compensate ;-)

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kavita-Doodnauth/513104005 Kavita Doodnauth

I have a blue Ikea shopping bag full of 8kg of kitty litter bound with rope and sealed with duct tape. Lol. Homemade!

    • Vivi

      I don’t have sandbag too, i use a dumbbells (10kg). It is cheaper ;-)

    • http://thedelicateplace.wordpress.com/ melissa @ the delicate place

i use my dumbbells as well as i dont have a sandbag, you can use a gym bag with rice etc. be creative and don’t let it keep you from doing a workout. my dip station is made out of pvc pipe!

      • Vivi

lol ! Me my dip station is 2 chairs for knee raises, and for reverse push up, i go under my table or  put a big wooden handle between 2 bar stool !! homemade too !!

        • http://www.facebook.com/indomavel Patricia Grade

I do the same, except for the reverse push up, ’cause I use my broomstick in two chairs…
Nothing like bodyrocking to ut your imagination at work, right?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kavita-Doodnauth/513104005 Kavita Doodnauth

During the first round I had a few interruptions from the little princess who so I did three rounds and was so  wiped by the end.
    One Leg Dead Lift with Sandbag R 16,18,13L  16,16,15Jump Jacks with Jump Rope 36, 43, 43Knee Raises 26,25,21Breakdance Push Ups 8, 12, 10

Today I tried really hard to get a pelvic tilt in when I did the knee raises and I could feel the difference vs just pulling up. It was definitely harder.

I am so happy with my jumping jack w/rope results. The first time I tried them I really felt like my legs were made of lead and it was such a struggle. What a difference!

We tell you all the time and I know you know this Zuzana and Freddy but you are really changing lives. It’s amazing.

  • http://www.themusicofyoga.com Laura

    Zuzana,

I have been working out with you for over a year and I am happy with the way my upper body looks, but can’t seem to get stubborn fat off my hips and thighs. Can you help me?

  • http://thedelicateplace.wordpress.com/ melissa @ the delicate place

hahaha that’s great! well i vow if my path ever crosses yours i will salute with burpees too! this site has done so much for my overall physical & emotional health, i think a ‘burpees everywhere’ is the least i can do :) my scores:

Tia was so cool!  I can understand how it must blow your minds when thing like this happen but we’re all so grateful to you both and on top of that you’re such a fantastic couple too. Your new pad is gorgeous too . I wonder if you are finding it more difficult to workout in the heat – I always find it harder.  I enjoyed this workout today, I did this while my poor husband fought his way through the new 600 rep killer that I’d challenged him to (which he finished both rounds in 41 mins).

    1. 1 Leg Deadlift 16k Sandbag L: 18, 20

Loving these workouts! I have a quick question, anyone can answer. I am flat footed, and I have been all my life, and when I do sprints, jumping jacks, jump rope or even high knees, the inside of my ankles really start to get tender and painful, exactly where the weak part of my foot meets the ankle. I was always told I needed arch supports but somewhere I read said that arch supports are actually bad for flat feet because the weak muscles & tendons just get weaker with the arch and that you have to build strength, and by doing that to try to be bare foot as much as possible, well I am ALWAYS bare foot when I do these workouts, but I do interval running in the morning and of course I run outside so I wear shoes, do you think if I started to run in just thick socks that might make things worse? thanks to any answers! :)

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

I LOVE your new house!!! So cozy and pretty, congrats guys :)
I am very, very happy for you. That intimate dining table is so awesome and romantic.
Today’s workout looks fun, but I already did “Cherry Cherry Boom-Boom” early this morning, so I will crack this one tomorrow. http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/01/10/cherry-cherry-boom-boom-workout/.
I managed to beat my old scores BIG time and pushed myself SO f……. hard, ha ha. Sweat all over my mat and floor. God, how I love that feeling of being all drenched and exhausted. Very addicting!
    Love, Maria

  • Felisha

    L: 12, 14

    Jacks w/ rope: 40, 43
    Hanging knee raises: 15, 17

    Bd push ups: 9, 10

I used two 10lb dumbbells for the deadlift. I wore my gloves and it felt really weird with the rope. They are really hot, too. Does any one have a recommendation for some super lightweight gloves?

  • Annie_B

  • http://kenjibankhead.posterous.com/ ashtromanius

i somehow didn’t write down to do the 2nd jumpjacks… so when I was done with the 2 rounds I still had 2 mins left so I just squatted because I didn’t know what I skipped on till I got back on here. Oh well. Here are my scores ( I had to modify the knee raises because my baby bump gets in the way, so I sat on the edge of a chair and did knee crunches that way)

    SLRDL:17,16
    “”        :17,16
    Jump jacks: 53,54
    knee raises: 30,26
    Breakdance: 6,6
    then 21 full squats

@Sarah Bowie Catto- nice work on doing it 2x! :) You bodyrocker, you!

Go easy on those ab exercise with a growing baby bump, especially as you get near the end!

      • http://kenjibankhead.posterous.com/ ashtromanius

This isn’t my first rodeo… this is baby #4. It gets irritating when I forget that it’s there and try to do something and then bump into it! ha!

Thank you for being thoughtful! :)

  • AudraFit

Hi guys, I forget how coordinated you have to be for those breakdance pushups lol. So here’s my numbers:
    Oneleg40LBDeadlift(L): 19/17
    Oneleg40LBDeadlift(R): 19/16
Jumping Jacks: 109/105/102/101 not enough clearance for rope in garage :(
    Knee Raises: 23/21
    BD Pushups: 11/11

  • Stephanie

    I can’t see you video…am I doing something wrong?

  • http://twitter.com/GoustiFruit GoustiFruit

Oww, I’m always losing time on those exercises that require balance ! By the numbers of other BR, it seems that using a bigger weight can help, I think my bag was to light and I kept leaning left and right :-p I finally focused on one precise spot on the ground and it helped me a lot…

    1 Leg Deadlift (L): 13 / 14
    1 Leg Deadlift (R): 14 / 15
    Jumping Jack (no rope): 47 / 48
“Leg raises and up” on the floor: 18 / 20
    Jumping Jack: 47 / 49
    Breakdance Push Ups: 13 / 14

I like to have an easier workout from time to time ;-) Should have done a third circuit like Annie_B…

  • Bohdanam

Another workout done wrong. I really need to pay more attention when writing down the workout. Instead of doing Jump Jacks between the deadlifts, knee lifts, and break-dance push-ups, I did a circuit of deadlifts, jump jacks, knee-lifts, and break-dance push-ups. Didn’t realize I did it wrong till my beeper went off before I finished the whole workout. So I did a few extra sets to balance out a total of three sets for the strength moves and six sets for the jump jacks. My scores:

This looks great – I can’t wait to do it. I’m currently doing a 30-day workout program for myself using some dvds, and HOPED to BodyRock also… but i’m too tired to begin at the moment… heh, i am missing BodyRock though and hope i get fit enough to do them along side my program. If not, i’ll be way excited to keep up with the workouts again when i’m finished!

GO BODYROCKERS!!! (And thank you as always Z&F!)xx

  • Ma Lauand

I have been measuring my heart rate and my calories burn during the day (with a monitor) and I realized my metabolism is 4 times faster when I do this 12 minutes work outs!
def bodyrock.tv makes me 4 times happier everyday :)

  • Mary Lou

I absolutely LOVE your floors! They are always so beautiful. I did this one this morning and tried really hard to be rock solid and still on the deadlifts. I also got all discombobulated on the last set of breakdance push ups and did them wrong, so I did 7 more the correct way at the end.
    dead lift L: 11, 11
    dead lift R: 12, 12
    jump jacks: 87, 81
    knee raises: 26, 27
    jump jacks: 92, 81
    breakdance: 7, 7, 7

Thank you, everyone!!!! It’s awsome to have a comunity like this! And I also love to have a bodyrock fellow with me: my sister :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/indomavel Patricia Grade

        Go team Portugal!

Espero que melhores depressa para começarmos a colocar esta malta toda na linha!

Um abraço e um beijinho respeitoso…

This looks like so much fun but I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow, just came home from the chiropractor.

Your house is modern, yet comfy.  And uncluttered!!  Love the coffee maker! Anyone tell you how to use it yet?

I was just learning how to jump rope with high knees, I think I’ll just do regular jumping jacks, I’m not that coordinated yet……

  • http://delightfultastebuds.wordpress.com Jos

    Woot, I did this today!

    Here are my scores!
    One Leg Deadlift (Left) 14-10
    One Leg Deadlift (Right) 14-12
    Jump Rope Jack 49-50
Knee Raise on Dip Station (I subbed it with Knee Hugs) 25-25
    Jump Rope Jack 48-40
    Breakdance Push Up 10-11

For One Leg Deadlift I used one 15lbs dumbbell and I had enough trouble to keep my balance already.

Then I did my own upper body strength training workout
    3 rounds of:
12 dumbbell overhead press (I used a pair of 8lbs)
12 Dumbbell deadlifts (I used a pair of 15 lbs)

Plus I did 5 Assisted One Leg Squat (each leg). I’m planning to do this everyday so one day I’d be able to do unassisted One leg squat.

    • Anonymous

Keep it up! Great scores Jos ;)

  • Lena

This looks great! I had some extra time yesterday and wanted to do a slightly longer workout so I did one of my favourites – Sexy and Jacked up – an managed to shave almost 4 minutes of my personal best time :D SO happy!! I did it in 18:03.

I will try to squeeze this one in this afternoon. Looking forward to it!

I am so glad I was able to do the BreakDance Pushup- I always think because I am unable at this time to do a full pushup I can only do them on my knees. Boy what a thrill. My scores:

    Deadlift
    L  18/15
    R  16/14

    Jumping Jacks w/Jump Rope
48/15 (I was disturbed more than once by my family Ugh)

    Knee Raises w/Dip Station
    20/20

    Jumping Jacks
    45/49

    Breakdance PushUP
    10/9

  • Donna

I just finished this and then enjoyed a breakfast of runny eggs on toast – YUMMY, I earned it and looking even YUMMIER in the mirror…lol
These were my scores with sore left toes and sore arms – maybe the 600 rep fat burner that I did yesterday has something to do with it that…
    1. One leg dead lift with 10 kilo sandbag left leg 20,20
    2. One leg dead lift with 10 kilo sandbag right leg19,20
    3. Jump jacks with jump rope 33,43
    4. Knee raises 21,17
5.Jump jack with jump rope 35,48
    6. Breakdance push up 8,11
Was going to do the survivor workout today as well but I feel to sore:) Maybe tonight:)

    • Anonymous

I also did the 600rep workout yesterday.lol. And I was a little sore in my arms…3d push ups are hard lol.
Nice scores…they are similar to mine ;)
      kisses dear bodyrocker Donna ;)

      • Donna

I had to talk myself through the 3D push ups and the side burpee’s which seem to go on forever. The second round went very quick after I got through the burpee’s because I knew there was only one more hard exercise to push myself through. I got through all the rest of the 8 exercises without stopping once so that helped greatly with my time:)

    Hi

Will you guys maintain this site? I hope so because I’m not a Facebook fan – putting in mildly. This site is so nice and peaceful. I find FB too busy and well, hateful.

I get why you’d do it that way for fans but pls don’t forget about the non-bookers.

    XO M

I agree. I have a FB page I made just for Bodyrock, but I still prefer this site and not visit FB very ofter. I usually forget I have it and then some friend request appears in my mailbox and it reminds me of it. I always though that people who don’t have or dislike FB are kinda disadvantaged, which IMHO is not fair. I personaly thing that FB became something more that it was supposed to be and I DON’T LIKE IT :D

        Hi Nina_CZ

I did have a FB account but I had a busy email account at work, email at home and was using a WebCT for an online course. I couldn’t cope with FB friends sending me drinks and aliens and inviting me to take quizzes about things I could care less about.

I don’t think I’m at a disadvantage, I have a lot more time on my hands because I’m not on FB all the time. LOL

        M

        • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Yes, I agree with you, I used to have a FB account which I deleted a year ago and I felt more “free” after that. The disadvantage I was thinking about is that many informations are only shared on FB and people without FB will never get to know these informations. But living FB-free life is much more convenient :D
          “Where were you yesterday?”
          “I was at home.”
“No you were not, I didn’t see you on Facebook!” :D

Since I don’t have an interval timer, I’m improvising this workout a little ;)
And this might be helpful for other bodyrockers who have no equipment whatsoever (my case, ESPECIALLY since we’re in the middle of moving).
I don’t have a dip station, sandbag, or anything except for a home-made jump rope and an abandoned child backyard playground which I will use for the hanging knee raises :)

I’m turning this into a 300 rep workout. I do each of the moves:
left leg dead leg: 20 reps
right leg dead lift: 20 reps
    jumprope jacks: 40 reps
    hanging knee raises: 20 reps
    Jumprope jacks: 40 reps
    Breakfance pushups: 10 reps
    total for one round: 150
so you do the routine twice as you would originally and the objective is to get 12 minutes or BEAT 12 minutes.

This is my little modification because I lack the interval timer and I like working outside, and in order for me to do intervals I have to use the computer and stay indoors.. but I want to go outside! … This is what I’m doing so I’ll come back with my time!
If anybody likes it feel free to try and tell me your times :)

    Pamela

My time was 12:15 :) I’m sweating like crazy!
Another suggestion is do as many rounds in 12-15 minutes if some of you are super fit!
Im gonna go do some cardio now… Gotta work hard to lose it ;)
      Have a great day!

one leg dead lift w/25 lbs sandbag (left):18, 16
one leg dead lift w/25 lbs sandbag (left):17, 15
    jump jacks w/jump rope: 34, 31
knee raises on dip station: 23, 20
    jump jacks w/jump rope: 32, 30
    breakdance push up: 6, 7

This is my first time posting my scores. I’ve only been bodyrocking for a little over a month, but I’m pretty proud of my progress both physically and mentally. I used to be so self conscious and never felt good about myself, but somehow doing these workouts and following all of the bodyrockers’ progress has made me feel better. Having a healthy body combined with a supportive community really does wonders for the mind. I guess my self-esteem issues prevented me from posting scores sooner, but then I realized that these are bodyrockers I’m sharing these with. You guys don’t judge people and are the most supportive group I’ve ever been a part of (and I’ve been a part of many groups: school classes, dance classes, sports teams, and numerous clubs).

miaevt – I went through the same growth… I’m so happy that you were able to get to your internal point of being strong… strong to post it… you did great!! I believe that Zuzana and Freddy were put on earth together to help create a place of unity and growth through strength and love. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve told who have asked… what are you doing? and I say.. it’s not what I’m doing, it’s who I am. I AM…. and YOU ARE… a Bodyrocker! You go on with your bad self!

Thank you Michelle! Zuzana and Freddy are amazing. I honestly think they should get an award for the things they do. If the entire world bodyrocked, it would be a much better and more peaceful place.

Ohh, Andy boy, watch out for your back! I am only saying this in support and care. I injured my upper back around Christmas and it took me quite a while to recover. Every time I moved my arms in any kind of horizontal movement, I felt like a knife was stabbed in between my shoulder blades. Insanely painful :( I felt deeply handicapped and needed chiropractor help for many weeks (sooo expensive). I hope you will go easy on the back stimuation, my friend. Take care! You are so right, Zuz IS a true goddess :)

      @google-8e7afeccc023e123152495eeb6719afc:disqus ,

don’t you feel weird when you skip a workout?

I have jogging days when I skip the workout, but then I feel like I haven’t done anything and my jogging is always about 1h, no less… Even so, I feel like my work isn’t done!

I guess bodyrocking is like sugar and chocolate, you get addicted to it!

      • creedy2280

yes i think i would have felt worse not having worked out.  also helping me keep my stress levels down since my hubby is away at drill for a week.

        • Anonymous

          I feel ya

Played hooky yesterday and when I was at work, having a rather stressful day, I thought, I should have worked out, this would be easier mentally.

So glad i worked out yesterday. I needed the energy for today.. the library was bustling with kids and families and patrons needing lots of stuff plus programming.

waiting for baby to fall asleep so i can hit a new workout tonight!

For a change and an utter surprise my jump rope snapped again (didn’t even warm up, snapped after the 4th jack in the first round), so I basically did the whole workout with regular jumping jacks. Scores are:
    Dead lifts: 19, 18, 19, 20
    Jump jacks 1: 46 (w/ snap), 55
    Knee raises: 24, 27
    Jump jacks 2: 54, 55
    Break PUs: 11, 12

    • Anonymous

it is not nice when that happened…happened to me few days ago..but we just have to keep going..
      nice scores!

  • Anonymous

Did this one yesterday, and I enjoyed it a lot, especially breakdance push ups I really love those!

    1) 1Leg Deadlift Left Leg (+14kg barbell) 11, 9
    2) 1Leg Deadlift Right Leg 9, 7
    3) Jumpe Rope Jacks 50, 84 (I counted each jump, hence my score)
    4) Knee Raises 16, 18
    5) Jump Rope Jacks 84, 77
    6) Breakdance Push Up 9, 10

I did additional 10 minutes of skipping, and then a half hour weight training, cos I love my new barbell and I really enjoy challenging myself with weights.. :)

I love your photos, Freddy is really talented, so I really think you should add a gallery on your site where you could occasionally post pictures which are not workout related, cos Zuzi is really gorgeous, more than most of the fitness models I’ve seen!!! :)

            What a coincidence!!!!! lololololololl

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

This workout looked so nice and simple, but I could not help myself from changing it – a little bit :P
I doubled it to: 24 rounds 10/50 sec. and substituted 2. round of Jacks with Side Jump Lunges, for an extra variation. I used a 30Lb sandbag (15 kilos) and focused a lot on proper form, so I felt the stimulation on my leg, butt and back muscles intensely.

    My scores:

Do we have other fine dining/cooking nerds here, like me???
Have a nice Wednesday, all my dear supporters!
    Love, Maria

Well Maria, it seams to me that we are more alike than we think..if I got you right you love cooking??..this is my passion, I really like to spend time in kitchen, cooking, trying new stuff…now in Croatia there is first season of MASTERCHEF on TV (I am watching it on internet), and I am loving it..and I love to cook for others!
So if we get together one day it will be cooking and working out…hahahahahha

      kiss

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

I LOVE cooking and baking even more!!!! And that TV show is awesome, I agree :) I also always try to watch Jamie Oliver’s lovely cooking programs, as the only thing I watch on tv one time a week. Otherwise I really hate watching TV! In my old appartment I loved not having any. My boy likes it, though, ha ha. Seriously, I love baking so much, I’d wish I had a whole kinder garden to bake for, ha ha. It is my favourite hobby, besides BodyRock. But it is too much a time killer for me! I can sit by the computer and watch baking blogs all day long (along with Bodyrock), it is horrible ;)
I really want to cook more real, wholesome foods, but my boyfriend’s kitchen is teeny tiny and he only has a small combi-oven with no space for a real roasting pan and so on…. We have a LOT in common, I think!
        Love, Maria

      • Donna

Hi 1Ivana, hope you don’t mind me jumping in here but I am also a friend of the kitchen:) What is your favorite Croatian dish to cook1Ivana? I love trying new recipes from different cultures and cuisine:)

        • Anonymous

Hi Donna, you are more then welcome…to be honest I don’t know if I can call my cooking Croatian, but I like to experiment and make lots of vegies, risottos, stuffed vegies..I live near Italy so maybe I have that influence??..
And I never cook with an recipe…it is always something different…today I will be doing risotto with zucchini, carrot, sweet corn, onion, little bit of bacon ( or some kind of it) etc.

          • Anonymous

            …garlic, leek, ginger…

          • Donna

I can also throw things together without a recipe because I know what works well together and what doesn’t which is very important with the outcome of a meal. I do follow Nigella, Jamie Oliver and Ina Garten recipes because they have amazing flavour to their dishes and their recipes always work ot well:) I also am a huge fan of Master chef:) I have never made a risotto to be honest but I do make curried fried rice and the ingredient list is massive:) It’s one of the many favorites in my family:) I use to do a lot of baking:) I would bake bread, cupcakes, cakes, biscuits and slices. Pecan slices, Mars bar slices and chocolate coconut slices, shortbread, banana choc chip muffins, chocolate cake are my favorite to make and eat:) I stopped baking when I became a bodyrocker:) but there still is an endless supply of sweets in my home:( I just try stay away from them now…

Enjoy your risotto and I might make one soon:)

          • MariaBjørgJepsen

I can NOT stop baking, I love it too much. To experiment with fun combinations, and of course, to taste it. That is something I chose to never ever deny myself, even as a Bodyrocker. I love it too much :)

          • Donna

I have to deny myself if I want to obtain abs like our Zuzi. I am following all the diet challenges, sugars have gone completely from my diet,  I earn my carbs everyday now and I have seen major changes going on in my mid section. I just need to follow it long term. I don’t know how long it will take but the muscles are all formed and there – they just need to POP…

    • Manda_n_OK

I maxed out my legs weightlifting last night or I would repeat this workout again (supposed to give muscle groups a day rest between workouts) with your side jump lunges… I bet that was a great burnout!  I’m making notes in my workout journal to try this longer variation next time I want to do a sub workout!

I love all the great ideas I get here! :)

      • AudraFit

I also did a leg workout the day before I did this one and I cringed a little when I saw the one leg deadlifts but I managed. Next time I’ll modify the workout a little just like Maria did. Definately a lot of great suggestions here!

        • Manda_n_OK

I love it! The options are endless and BodyRockers are so creative! I switch them up here and there when I need to adjust to accommodate my weight workout schedules, and reading the comments makes it easy to do so!

          • MariaBjørgJepsen

I am so pleased we can help and inspire each other, darling ladies :)

    • Donna

Maria the kitchen is not nerdy:) I am a bit of a Nigella myself in the kitchen (not the over eating part at the moment:) Gone are those dreadful old days of barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen:) The kitchen is a passion of mine and I actually enjoy spending time there:) It is the IN thing at the moment:) Just turn on the t.v and look at all the fine cooking shows we have :) Gone are the days of keeping your recipe a secret, people now share what they know:)

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

I meant “nerdy” in a fun, positive way ;) Thankfully we are a lot of creative and passionate home chefs here on Bodyrock, ha ha. I absolutely adore Nigella, her amazing food and her selfconfidence. SO admirable :)

        • Donna

Hey Maria, just checking;) I was going to make my classic meat balls today but I forgot to defrost the mince overnight. I always have a plan B and C so I am making tuna croquettes with wasabi mayonnaise…

    • AudraFit

You might want to check your temperature….. Because you have Bodyrock fever!!! Lol really Awesome job Maria :D

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

Ha ha, thank you, dear Audra ;) I might have become kinda’ addicted to the very, VERY drenched-in-sweat feeling!!!

    • Anonymous

wow! Great scores ;) I thought about double it too, but I didn’t have the time. Tomorrow I’ll do the 400rep workout…Burpees for ever xD

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

Thanks Larofski :) Have fun with the Burpee Killer!

Missed you too, welcome back :)

    • AudraFit

Hey Maria, good to hear from you :)

  • Renske

OMG!!! I watched the home tour on Facebook. Did you get the paintings with the house? I love the style! And what a huge fridge!!!! That’s not normal haha ( at least not in the Netherlands). Omg, I want to live there too, it’s really a beautiful place.

  • Manda_n_OK

woot!  love the place, and the studio in the backyard – you’re right, the place was PERFECT for you!  and OF COURSE you got the house! All you should have to do is tell them your name & site and there’s no competition!  Perfect publicity for their rent house!!!

I did L.A. Hardbody workout again yesterday, so this morning I got this one done. :)

      Hi

So funny I always find it so stressful going on vacation for just the reasons you describe. It’s not like I don’t know about it months in advance but I’m always running like a chicken at the last minute.

Have a great – RELAXING, vacation

      M

Thanx…but I am going away to work, and I will be there for 3 months, so..you can imagine all the things I have to bring..!?

        • Anonymous

Oh my heck, now that takes a lot of organizing. Best of luck on the job, sounds like an adventure!

My sister is going to be better, And will start bodyrocking again. I made her start bodyrocking, and now we share our scores and push for each other. It’s nice to have a bodyrocker buddy with us :)

  • Micha79

Alrighty then! I was definitely excited to do this one… I even got my very unhealthy neice to do a workout with me… it’s a challenge to get her in the right mindset, but she was willing and did the whole thing with me, with beginner modifications… my scores could have been better, I understand that, but my form was off with trying to help explain to her… so I’ll do it again when my allergies ARE NOT attacking me.. :) here they are!

    Round 1
    Dead lift – L – 13 (16 lb)
Dead lift – R – 14 (16 lb) I definitely have better balance on my right leg!
Jump jacks – 69 (question for the ladies- do you ever have that um… feeling when you jump? like you have to run to the washroom very quickly?! Sorry for the candid question, but we’re all bodyrockers here… )
    Knee raises – I don’t have a dip yet, so I did knee hugs – 22
Jump jacks – did straight skipping – 75
    Breakdance PU – 7

    Round 2
    Dead lift – L – 13 (16 lb)
    Dead lift – R – 14 (16lb)
Jump jacks – did prisoner jacks this time – 51
Knee raises – (knee hugs) 19
Jump jacks – did prisoner jacks again – 47
    Breakdance PU – 7

    Thanks all!!!!

  • Micha79

alright! I posted, but it didn’t take – so here it goes again! hehehehe

I did pretty good… I know I could have had better form, but I got my niece to do a workout with me… she’s seen me workout on my patio, but she’s never done one… she did yesterday, with beginner modifications and did great! Below are my scores, with some modifications.. I don’t have a dip … yet… so I did knee hugs :) Also, lady bodyrockers… question: only when I do jump jacks with the rope, I feel like I have to RUN to the washroom right away… but no other jacks or jump roping or anything! do you ever get this problem?

    R1:
    DL – L 13 (16lbs)
    DL – R 14 (16lbs)
    Jump jacks – 69
    Knee raises (knee hugs) 22
    Jump jacks (regular skipping) 75
    Breakdance PU – 7

    R2:
    DL – L 13 (16lbs)
    DL – R 14 (16lbs)
Jump jacks – did prisoner jacks – 51
    Knee raises (knee hugs) 19
Jump jacks – did prisoner jacks – 47
    Breakdance PU – 7

    Thanks!

    • Micha79

that was a long post! sorry bout that! :)

    • Anonymous

I had the same problem when I was doing the jumping jacks today.  It probably effects some people more than others, but I bet it is more common than we realize.

      • Micha79

I wonder why it happens only on the jacks.. it’s weird though, it only happens with I do it with the jump rope jacks.. I’m wondering if it’s because I land harder when I use the rope, versus not.. like on my feet, and I think I jump higher.. hmm… I’m glad I’m not alone in this one! Thanks Bethany!!

        • Anonymous

No problem!  I’m not sure why it just happens with me and the jumping jacks either, but it does. haha

  • Anonymous

Most of my scores were close to Z’s!  I love when that happens!  But of course, then I start to doubt myself and think I must have done something wrong.  Haha!

    One Leg Dead Lift (L) – 12 / 12
One Leg Dead Lift (R) – 12 / 12  These dead lifts were NOT close to Z’s.  It took a couple of reps before I stopped looking like a drunken chicken!!!!!!

    Jump Jacks w/Jump Rope – 48 / 46 (for round 1) 44 / 45 (for round 2)
    Knee Raises – 21 / 24
Breakdance Push Ups – 10 / 11  I think these push ups are SO cool  :)

Then I did something I haven’t attempted yet, but I went for a run.  I usually run in the evenings when I get home from work, but I live in the good ol’ HOT state of Texas and I cannot seem to run in 100+ degree weather!!  So now my runs will be after my BodyRock workouts!  Which wasn’t very easy after doing this workout!

  • Anonymous

Just did this as an AM workout! Great one :) I love Break Dance Pushups (but i still call them MyPushUps as Zuzanka did in the past, I used to call them YourPushUps, when I was not able to do them, but now I can proudly call them MyPushUps as well). Great score for AM workout I think. I am reeeeally getting better with a jumprope, but Jumprope Jacks are still a problem for me, I am getting tangled everytime :D In last round I found a rythm a bit…

Did this workout rock anyone’s hamstrings? Mine are still sore 2 days after I did this workout. I do love when I do a new exercise and I feel it the next day.

Not to be a pooper, but I didn’t love this workout, but it may be because I don’t have a jumprope, so I had to substitute regular jumping jacks (until the last round, when I made the wider jump a squat) and I don’t think I had enough weight on the dead lifts.  I don’t have a sandbag, but instead I lifted 2 15-lb weights.  I think maybe I should have done 2 20 lb weights.  Anyway, it’s all good for 12 minutes, and this, in my normal workout schedule, would have been a day off.  So anything is definitely something.  Here are my scores:

one leg dead lift L: 12-16
one leg dead lift R: 13-15Jumping jacks (instead of having a jump rope):  58-56knee raises: 21-31jumping jacks: 57-37 (second time were squat jumping jacks)breakdance pushup: 10-??? I totally lost count on this one!Cheers and hugs to all BodyRockers and, of course, Zuzana and Freddy… Looks like good things are coming your way, and I am tickled that that is the case.

Finally got round to this one today. I absolutely loved this workout! I added a third round for an 18 min workout.

    My scores:
One Leg Deadlift R (12kgs) 12-13-10 (kept losing my balance on the last round)
    One Leg Deadlift L (12 kgs) 15-14-14
Jumping Jacks w Jump Rope 81-96-83 (I counted every jump, so feet apart = 1, feet together = 2, etc., Zuzana must have counted in and out as one)
    Knee Raises 18-20-20
    Jump Jacks 93-95-91
    Breakdance PushUps 7-9-8 (loved these!)

365 rep workout tomorrow :) Looking forward to it!

for doing knee raises, you can do on floor, I do off edge of a high stool, or hanging from chin up bar.  some people use arms of treadmill, railings, two stools, kitchen cupboards etc,  look around and use your imaination and you will probably find something.

when you need to do reverse pushup you can use pull up bar and do regular pullups, or put a tall chair under and do them like the reverse pull up, arms on treadmill, a broomstick across two chairs, or under the edge of a sturdy table

Hi Zayra. Welcome to Body Rock! You can start with looking at the Diet Challenges, starting with #1. Look at the Food and Diet section. As for the exercises, you can start with any of them, just start and go for it! Zuzana will have modifications for beginners in most of her workout videos. Most of us Body Rockers keep a log book, or notebook so you can write down the exercise you did that day and keep track of your reps. That way you can track your progress and when you try the exercises again, you can try to beat your score!

Have fun, this site rocks, and the people are amazing. You feel like you are part of a little community even though we are all over the world! Good luck!

One Leg Dead Lift (L): 14, 16 (Using approx. 35-40 lb backpack)
    One Leg Dead Lift (R): 15, 17
Jump Jacks with rope: 70, 85 (I kept tripping up, anyone else find this one awkward?)
Knee Raises with Dip Station: 24, 26
    Jump Jacks: 89, 93
Break Dance Pushups: 10, 11 (I like these ones)

I am going to do the 365 workout tomorrow…yikes!
ZUZANA, question for you. How does your makeup not run all over the place?! Man, if I workout at the end of a work day where I’m wearing makeup, my mascara is all over the place! Must be waterproof!! Is there a little secret make up crew touching up your makeup? Hee hee! :-)

    • Lisa

Just looking at other scores, I also counted the Jump Jacks in and out as 2…so half my score, and it’s the same as Zuzana, I think!

I think if you put the title in the search bar, but in quotation marks, it should work.

i did 3 rounds of these exercises to make the workout last 18 min :) and i have finally discovered that my kitchen chairs are stable enough to be used as a dip station!!! so today it’ was the first time i’d done knee raises :)) i also did Low Jacks instead of Skipping Rope Jacks and they killed my quads, lol

    and the score is:

    1. 13,13,14
    2. 14,14,15
    3. 43,44,46
    4. 19,20,23 (had to get used to the position :))
    5. 43,45,48 (squeezed those last reps out!)
    6. 8,8,9

thinking of either Backward Lunge Challenge or the 365 rep WO for later today ;)

WOW….this feels good!  Today was my first day working out in a week…..I’ve been working 7 days a week, some of those days being double shifts.  Life is crazy right now but I’m pushing to my max today cause quite frankly, I NEED to!!  I’m heading off to do some cardio on the treadmill then laps at the pool.  Zuz & Freddy, if you ever have time to film at a pool….could you post some of your favorite WATER/AQUA exercises that are challenging and rewarding???  Thanks so much!
    My results for today:
L Leg Deadlift with Sandbag: 17/22
R Leg Deadlift with Sandbag: 20/23
Jump Jacks (no rope today): 52/52
Knee Raises (my hands kept slipping :(  I did mine on my pull up bar today) :  15/12
    Jump Jacks: 53/45
Breakdance Pushup (Luv’d these!!!  But I was low on fuel towards the end of the circuit) : 9/10

Have a fantastic day BodyRockers!!  :)

You’re doing great! Congratulations on the weight loss. I’m so glad that you replied. I got my mom into doing these workouts and whenever she says that these are just for young people, I like to share some stories about people who are her age and doing them too. She just turned 52 a few days ago and I’m so proud of her for staying active even with all of the work and responsibilities in her life. And I’m 21 in case you were wondering :)

  • lUCy

ok, i did this one twice, back to back, and the second time i added jump-jack ropes in between the dead-lifts, too (which made them even harder, and i wasn’t doing all that hot with them in the first place :P).  so i have an odd number of jump-jacks, but here are my scores:

    right leg dl:6,6, 7 1/2, 7
    left leg dl: 8,8, 10, 6
jj ( i counted each time my feet hit the floor, so half of this):86, 105, 102, 92, 100,
    knee raises: 23, 26, 27, 24 (yay! i’ve been working on these :))
    jj:   96, 77, 102, 100, 106
bb push-ups:8, 9, 9, 10 (10 was my goal, so i finished the last one at the end even though the timer had gone off, haha)

Yeah I do the computer thing too, but when I want to work out outside I can’t do that cuz the computer is inside ,lol, so I just turn it into reps and sets challenge so I can enjoy the fresh air. And when my parents are home, they don’t like to hear the jumping and fussing so they’re like “take it outside!”

10/4/11: lunch workout at work.  I used 8# dumbbells & subbed lying leg raises.  We did 3 rounds.

    16# 1-leg deadlift
    LT 16-14-13
    RT 17-16-12
    jacks + rope 53-44-40
lying leg lift + butt lift 15-15-14
    jack ropes 488-46-34
    breakdance pu 15-11-11

My pregnant (2nd trimester) co-worker did the following subs (we followed Bodyrocker Kate Rita’s suggestions)
    deadlifts, no weight
jack + rope –> side lunges (no jump)
    side planks, 1 knee down
    monky pushups

    Thanks!

  • Mary Lou

I just did the 550 rep fat massacre a little while ago so I did this one today. I used a 30lb dumbbell instead of my 20 lb sandbag and wow! What a difference 10 lbs makes! Balance was tough because of the weight and clumsiness of the dumbbell, so my numbers dropped to reflect that, but the pushups and knee raises were comparable. Many thanks!

  • Miss Rebecca

Yet again, just posting to express my profound disappointment that the video for this workout has been removed.  I am just about to do this one, trying to beat my personal best score, and I wanted to watch the video before I started, but it is gone.  I am asking, yet again, that you PLEASE reconsider removing all of Zuzana’s videos from the site.  It is detrimental to our training.  I’m sure you have your reasons, but I really just don’t see what purpose it serves.  I understand that you want to move forward with new workouts and new trainers, but I am begging you to stop slowly removing her presence from the site.  It’s not fair to those of us who have been following you for three or four years and who still faithfully check the site every day, those of us who continue to “like” all of the youtube videos and facebook posts every day…we still utilize these older videos and every time you remove on of them, the quality of the site is compromised, because the library of available workouts is diminished.

Ok, I guess I have pleaded my case enough for today.  I hope you will consider this point of view moving forward.

I wonder who technically owns these videos?

      • Miss Rebecca

It would call for a lot of speculation into their personal lives, but I believe the website would be considered marital property so, when they were married, they both owned the site as well as the videos on it.  Of course I don’t know the details of their divorce settlement, but it would appear that Freddy has retained ownership of bodyrock, so I would imagine that he now is the sole owner of the videos as well.  But like I said, I’m not trying to speculate about their personal lives..I just want the old videos back!
