Dead Man’s Burpee Challenge

Hi BodyRockers,

In 1954 Roger Bannister became the first athlete to break the 4 minute mile. He completed it in 3.59.4 – since then numerous athletes have managed to break this barrier and now it is the standard for professional distance runners (thanks Wikipedia). Reading about this today got me thinking that there is probably a Burpee Barrier :) I’m not sure what that barrier is, but as a starting point I’m placing it at 100 in 10 minutes. This is today’s challenge, and I hope at least a few BodyRockers out there will step up and smash this barrier and post your reps in the comments below. If we find that many of you manage to do 100 Dead Man’s Burpees in 10 minutes we might have to raise the barrier higher, but for now I think that 100 is a reasonable goal. Make sure you watch Zuzana perform the Burpee in the video to get the proper form, set your interval timers to stop watch mode and push it to the max. For all of you beginners out there, just try to reach as close to 100 as possible. If you manage 30 but you honestly gave it your all then be proud of your efforts and post your reps as well :)

Good luck and remember often the hardest barriers to overcome are the ones we place on ourselves.

Best,

Freddy and Zuzana

I love your new sneakers!!! They are awesome, sky blue is one of my favourite colours!! :)
I’m looking forward to doing this challenge tomorrow!
And I love your exercises pants as well!! :)

P.S. So did you break the barrier? :)

  • Dana Kocis

Eeeeep! Lol – I’m off for my first jog in well over a year (I find the pavement too hard on the knees). My Gymboss is coming with because I’ll be doing 30 minutes = 45 (10 + 30) intervals to make it better on my joints. It’s too gorgeous out to have spent the whole day in my windowless office and not get something out of it!

Guess I’ll be testing my barrier all warmed up :)

P.S. Turquoise rockkkkks :D I’ve got so many neon combo socks and laces

  • AudraFit

Well you sure do set the bar high Zuzana:) I love this tho and I’m always up for a challenge. What makes these seem tough is the momentum breaker of resting your body on the floor and arms out to the side. Hmmm…. Let’s see. Should I give this a go even tho I did my training for the day? Of course I should cuz I’m your loyal Bodyrocker ;-) Can you tell us how you did?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alana-Stacy/698175600 Alana Stacy

Whoohoo! I broke the barrier! 100 in 10 minutes. Wow am I wiped! :)

  • Kat:)

    gonna do this tonight ;)

  • Ela

Awsome challenge…I’ m doing it tomorrow, pushing hard to break the barrier! :)

  • Aletinita

definitely trying this one! will let you know my time…mmmm hehehe!

  • Maria

Oh this is a real challenge for me. I’m a beginner and I’m guessing the “laying-down-on-the-floor”-part is where Brutus will join me. I will try, I will push hard!
Love to all Body Rockers from Sweden!

  • AudraFit

I’m back. I survived. 102 and let me tell you the last 10 were just brutal Zuzana. If you raise the bar any higher I might have to do it again, OK so I’m gonna make dinner and chill cuz now I feel like a dead woman walkin lol. Either that or crawl into fetal position.

    • Anonymous

Congrats, Audra. I made the mistake of looking at your score before I started. Your scores are always exceptional. Next time I will just do the workout before I look.

      • AudraFit

Thanks! You and all the Bodyrockers here did and will do great!

    • susana

you’re so funny … mommies rock don’t we?

  • http://twitter.com/kmsdove Kathy Schneider

60 of these things..damn after the rooster kicked my a&& this morning.

  • Anonymous

100! that was brutal. Really, 99.5 when the beeper beeped…I had to finish though.

  • Maude R Villeneuve

My score is 83.. not bad :) I think i’m gonna do another work out ( I feel bad because I cheated on the diet challenge.. ) I really have to earn the carbs that I have eated…

  • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

I already did one of your older workout from 2009 Hot Burn Workout today with some slight modification (did 50 freestyle skips instead 30 toe touch and 20 deadlift with 35 lbs backpack instead 10 One Leg deadlift per leg) so will save this for tomorrow.. btw yesterday I finally did my FIRST unassisted one leg squat!! *so happy*

    • Catsnp

      Congrats :)

      • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

        Thanks!

    Zuzana and Freddy:

This is my workout for tomorrow morning. Whoooo!

  • Anonymous

I did 101 in 10 minutes.  By the time I got to 80, I thought there was no way I was going to make it.  But I did somehow.  YAAAAYYY!!!!  Thanks for that push Zuzana!!!

  • http://twitter.com/Mariechelon Marie

I’ve been able to do only 63 dead man’s burpees, but one day I’ll make it to the hundred!

  • Stephitza

This looks fun!  I’m glad there are no push-ups involved with the dead man burpee because that part of burpees can slow me down!

  • Kamillzyna

Any chance this was named after Dead Man’s Chest? But seriously though, I can’t wait to try this and break down! the barrier

  • Anonymous

Tough challenge, 92 in 10 minutes for me. Great goal for me to beat this challenge,

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Welbeloved-Akulas/100000592647853 Welbeloved Akulas

  • kat

100 sweating like crazy now!!!  Thank you Z & F

  • Anonymous

I have some workouts to make up since I was sick last week, so I’ll save this challenge for tomorrow (lunchtime at work) since it’s body weight only. Getting ready to do the Give Me Everything I missed last Monday. I did do an older body weight one already at lunch today, ’09′s 15 Minute Killer Cardio, which was a lot of fun.

  • Cppascual

I almost didn’t make it to 10 minutes.  I did 70 with all the stops to catch my breath.  Go Go Go!

  • http://profiles.google.com/punknfit Andy haros

i can’t believe i did it!! 9:95!!! whoooHOOOOOO!!! feels amazing to accomplish it!

  • Lisa

Set my interval timer for 1 round at 10:00, and I did 106!! When I hit 50, I looked at the time and it said 5:36, I thought that I was more than halfway and started to get discouraged, didn’t think I would get to 100 in time. But, now I realize, I had 5:36 left, which meant I did 50 in less than 5 min. I wish I would have figured that out mid-workout, but I must have been too tired to think straight!

Good challenge today, Zuzana and Freddy!

So…how many did you do in 10 min? Did Freddy do it too?

  • http://Bodyrock.tv Ivette

I did 60 in 10min :( I wish I could’ve done more, but i feel so accomplished even though I’m the under dog

  • Hal

Thought I was going to make the 100 but the damn beep came in at 95.  Oh well….maybe next time.

  • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Oh I wanna do this now! :D Too bad I am at work :)) I can’t wait!
I was wondering if Zuzi is going to buy this bra, I saw it on a website a while ago and really didn’t like how it looks, but it looks great if you are “bigger up there” :D Looks great on you Zuzi :)
I just came to work, boooo, 8 more hours here, then I have an appointment in a bank and then STRAIGHT TO IT! :)))

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=516411708 Sasha Haidei

    93) not a 100 but still feels amazing to acomplish this challenge, all sweaty and shaky after 10min)

as always thank you guys for the vid, by the way love how you did the ending, made me feel wonderful already being part of this strong community =)

132…. including some short “catch-my-breath-breaks” that I maybe could have let out, hmmm… But at least I did not throw up, ha ha :) HOW did you and Freddy do, Zuz???
    Much love, Maria

    • http://www.janetspreiter.com Janet

      You are a machine, Maria!!

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

Cynthia beat me by over 30 reps!!!!! Then I should not have taken those 2 short breaks ;) I am thrilled to hear your score, Janeth :)
        Love, Maria

    • Vivi

Maria…you need to put the higher bar still! haha you’re incredible !
I bring my children to the school and I try to beat you….at least to move closer to me to it :D

It’s funny I rode you couln’t do the “amazing abs” yesterday, me too I couldn’t. I made just elliptical & push up and abs exercises (to work “transverse” abs more exactly) ! I will do it perhaps after this challenge!

    • Vivi

You WIN !!! Grr my gymboss rung before I am raised !!!!
If only I didn’t have a break 3 time to take my breath !!! but it’s intensive, so very difficult to not stop at all ;)

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

Yeah, I really did not want to stop, but I guess I thought I needed 2 short breaks. I was not on the very limit to throw up, so I guess I COULD have pushed even more…. Grrrrr!!!!! Cynthia beat my with 36 reps!!!! That is f……. incredible :)
But WELL DONE with 131,5 reps and be PROUD, my dear!

        • Vivi

It is really the breath which missed me!! My arms was good. On the other hand I felt my butt, with the jump squat.

To work my breath perhaps I’m going to try to run (but I don’t like it! haha), I made a little elliptical in more workout but not enough apparently !!!

        • Vivi

    • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Wow Maria, that score is mindblowing!!! HOW??? :D

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

Thank you so much, sweet Nina :) Actually, I think a part of me pushed even harder, because my boyfriend said: I’ll give you a present/surprise you if you get over 100 reps, ha ha! But next time it will be even more fun for me, if I have other Bodyrockers’ scores to aim for, if you know what I mean? I was one of the first ones posting. I only knew I had to cross the 100 to be satisfied :) It is great to have someone like Cynthia Hannah who can make me push even more next time!
How is it going with your blogging?
        Much love, Maria

      • Anonymous

thanks Dheana, it definitely did !  :)
I did another workout just now because I felt sooooo good after the dead mans burpeesand besides, today was a general strike in Prague, so everything was somehow more peaceful, more people walking in the streets, more bikes and roller-skaters less cars… Just a perfect day :)

I only managed 84 burpees for my 2nd ever BodyRock work out :)  Was pretty happy with the result however frustrated I needed to pause so many times to catch my breath.  Have certainly kept the score written down and will be trying to beat it at some stage soon!  Well done everyone on your scores – best inspiration ever :)

      Welcome bodyrocker Jenn ;) It’s a great score for a beginner. =)

114 only :/ I tried to beat Vivi and Maria but it was hopeless… But thanks for telling us your reps! It was very inspiring! ;)

  • Donna

I didn’t feel like a workout today because my legs have been really sore, all muscles just above my knees have been hurting really bad for the last three days. I saw this and thought 10 min is not that long and my leg pain had eased late afternoon on both legs. I started this and wanted to stop on the 24th burpee because I felt pain near my left knee, but I am to stubborn for my own good.

Once I start something I can never bring myself to stop until the job is done. I did 77 reps and burst a blood vessel in the process (just above my
left knee). I must of burst it on the 24th.I now know I push myself very hard in all my workouts!!!!! I have
to rest for 5 days with no exercise. So upset with myself:( The doctor was very impressed that I kept on going and got to 77…lol

    • Anonymous

Oh! Listen to you’re body Donna…. Rest and then comeback at you’re best!

      • Donna

Hey larofski, ‘it’s a crying shame when you got yourself to blame’…Thank-you, I plan on posting a picture to show you guys what can happen if you don’t listen to your body…

Take all the time the doctor says Donna, you are very brave and you have been doing more than your best (if thats possible) give your body a chance, its for the best :)
We will all be waiting for you.

      • Donna

Thanks Mily!!! I believe certain things happen for a reason. I need to listen to my body and stop pushing it way beyond it’s limits before I really do some serious damage…

    115

I think today is the day when I can confidently say that I’ve become a true BodyRocker. I started in mid January. The few workouts I missed since then (due to illness) I caught up with on the days off (or at times when I did 2 workouts on the same day), and my scores are steadily improving until the very day. Although I’m still way behind the pros like our Godess Zuzana, AudraFit, Vivi, MariaBjørgJepsen, etc., but by breaking the officially 100 burpee threshold today, I think I can celebrate.Besides, I pushed extra-super hard today, I wanted to dedicate this workout to one of my best friends, Adrienn, who has her birthday today. She does the odd BR exercises herself with her two small children, so I’m sure she’ll know what 115 burpees mean and she’ll appreciate my efforts :-).

    • Vivi

Your compliment touch me but I ‘m not a pro at all ! I began in february , so  have to work as you a lot again !!
But it’s exciting to motivate himself with other’s score!!!

    • Mafer

WOW…I ALSO STARTED IN MID JANUARY, THE 15TH TO BE EXACT AND I ALSO DID 115 BURPEES, I WANTED TO DO AT LEAST 120 BUT MAYBE NEXT TIME. I’M A BODYROCKER ALL THE WAY AND I WILL NEVER STOP, I’M COMPLETLY ADDICTED TO IT, JUST LOOOOOOVE IT!!!!
THANK YOU ZUZANA, FREDDY AND ALL BODYROCKERS, YOU ARE A GREAT INSPIRATION TO ME!!!

    • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Congrats Ildi!!! I am so happy for you :) You rock, yoooou are a true Bodyrocker! :) I started in August 2010 and I still don’t feel as strong as you are!!! You go, I wanna see some burpees from your wedding day :D :D :D :D

      • http://www.facebook.com/ildiko.mazar Ildikó Sünci Mázár

You bet, Nina. I already know the spot where I’ll do my first burpee as a newly wed. :-)

Maria and Vivi must’ve been like bouncing springs! Boing boing! That’s fast esp after lying flat. Seriously tho, very inspiring!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

I’m scared to do this one, I usually do the workouts upstairs and I hate to jump because of the people downstairs (family). But too bad, I’m going to do this one now.
Sometimes I’m scared to bring all the floor down with me because so many jumps….

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

      105!!!! I never thought I was going to make 100, I wanted so bad…

When I reach 43 I stayed on the ground for 3 seconds and push, then 60 (I was so tired)
When I made 76 I was so amazed and scared that I was not going to make 100,
I stopped thinking and just moving and moving then 88, I said to myself “come on you are so close”
then 102 and then 105. ppfffffffffffffff

      • Donna

        Great number Mily:)

  • Anonymous

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Rosalie-Salemink/618241291 Rosalie Salemink

I survived, omg this was a tough one, especially mentally!
I did 100 in 8:55, and 112 total in the 10 minutes. I think I could have done a little better, but not today! I was already kind of wiped when starting :P

  • Mary Lou

Aaarrgghh! 97! I did 3 more anyway. Congrats to @Vivi_bodyrocker:disqus and @d7086caed004c5dcd963452cb7f1e9c5:disqus and @facebook-732267114:disqus  on fantastic scores! I WILL break this barrier next time.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ildiko.mazar Ildikó Sünci Mázár

Oh, I don’t deserve the praise, you’re making me blush, Mary Lou. Look at the scores of @facebook-100001544872752:disqus and @facebook-1746562272:disqus …I’m in awe.

  • http://twitter.com/misathemeb m

::92:: i know i can do 100, i’m so close! next time! my heart was thumping when that timer went off haha. i say this everyday i think haha but it’s very important for me to hit the right technique and i was focusing on the power up into that wide squat and then jumping. i like to make sure i breathe through the movement. it’s actually quite centering in a way! i’m ready to rock my day! x thanks guys!!

  • http://twitter.com/GabayC Gabija D.C.

69… I seemed to be pushing so hard but today I feel so heavy headed I’m happy I overall decided to workout. I felt ‘done’ after 20 reps when I couldn’t even get off the floor!
    Oh well… I guess it’s just a difficult day.
I know I can do WAY better and I will try this soon again.

What was really annoying and just outrageous is that I yawned while doing my stretching after the workout!! I have no idea how it happened! I seem to have given my all and that yawn just caught me off guard!

  • AmberRose31

I can’t wait until my knees heel (stress fracture on both knees) and I can do these workouts without modifications.I can’t do the jumping…so I did as many push-ups as possible.  I’m still on my knees but the first 10 I did using the chair.  I did the first 100 in 5 min, my arms started shaking but I pushed myself as hard as I could and got to 178 by the 10min mark.  I feel SOOO much stronger now that I did when I first started BodyRocking!  I started doing this every day almost 3 weeks ago now. I commited to the nutrition plan, and I feel so healthy, so strong, so invincible (minus the stress fractures last week!!).  I’ve lost so much fat and can actually start to see my muscles…it looks and FEELS better than I thought it would.  I really do feel  like if I accomplish this…I can accomplish anything!

Thank you so much Zuzana and Freddy for creating this, for inspiring us, for giving us all the tools to use to be the healthiest we can be!  The confidence you’ve given me in the last month is priceless!!  THANK YOU!!

  • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

    113, auu…my arms!

    • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

      ugh, i’m sweating :)

  • Mary

Oh man, this is going to be awful! Can’t wait to try when I get off work though. I’m going to be physically wiped out again today…but I’m going to do my best. I’m setting my personal goal at 70 so let’s see if that happens. :)

I got a new job that’s really physically challenging. When I get home I have no energy and am sore and tired…I have to zone out with the TV/videogames/napping for like two hours before I can do anything else! Kind of hate it. This week I’ve been having to modify workouts or compile my own to make short ones…last night I did the first part of If You Really Want More and shaved a whole minute off my first time!!!

Anyway…I’ll be back to post my scores after work…congrats to EVERYONE for finishing it!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1746562272 Cynthia Hannah

Hi guys ,I completed the challenge last night and I did  168 in 10 minutes. Woo-Hooo!!
I hit the 100 mark at  6minutes ,1 second, and I have to admit I did slightly lower my pace once I hit the mark . Tough stuff and man was I sweating bullets ! This was awesome and I am happy with my score ;-) I followed this up with some Vinyasa Yoga . Can hardly wait to do the next workout!!
Zuzana , you got the shoes I want! The Nike AirMax+ are so highly rated as a fantastic shoe and the colors are sweet! I just ordered some other Nikes that were on sale , but man , now you have me thinking about these again,LOL.

          :-D I agree with Audra: how the…?!
I cannot find the right word, machine is NOTHING to describe what you achieved. Seriously, I cannot for the life of me imagine how on Earth it is possible to be so fast. Incredible!!!
You guys make us ‘laggers’ feel like cucumbers – but I gladly accept that. We’re in the same team still, and I’m proud to belong to such a community.

        • MariaBjørgJepsen

You are a true motivation and inspiration, Cynthia :) I always, always watch your awesome scores! What have you been training for all those years? I have noticed you really are no. 1 when it comes to cardio!!!
          Love, Maria

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1746562272 Cynthia Hannah

You know ,I just train because it is a part of who I am, it literally is a need in me. I feel like a caged animal if I don’t ,LOL.

        • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

Wow you’re just a super woman! I wish I started my training as early as you do..guess I’ll have to wait another 20 year to catch up to your stamina :D Great score btw

  • steffi

can’t wait to try this this morning, but i was wondering if u are going to/ will post more recipes and diet tips because i have been struggling in that area lately and a layer of belly fat has begun to build up on my stomach :( thanks!

  • Lulu

Wow, what a high!  I’ve been bodyrocking for the past 3 weeks and this was the first burpee challenge I’ve tried – I only managed to do 71 (after the first 10 I didn’t think I’d get past 50!).  Your scores all motivated me and I picked up the pace when I realised after 5 minutes that if I kept going the same rate I was only going to get to 60.  You guys amaze me!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lauren-Lafitte/1123341759 Lauren Lafitte

I just did this and all I can say is WOW! I completed 100 reps in 9:37 … this one was hard..really wiped out after I was done. Thanks guys!

  • Gerrilee Schafer

101….I did take some breathers though..did 25..stood there for a few seconds…did 15 more..a few seconds…then did them in sets of 10 with a very short rest period..I’ll do better next time..when I started in February I couldn’t do more than about 15 without wanting to puke…thanks you guys

and finally i worked out again today.. :) :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001544872752 Anna Carolina F

    Wowww…I reached the 100 barrier @ 5:28 min .
I pushed so fast that I got dizzy after this. I catch my breath for a minute and went on->141 total in 10min.

You had to have seen me…I looked like a snake :P

    • Vivi

haha ! I see exactly what you means about “snake” !
      Congratulations for your score !

    • Patrick

141!  Looks like wikipedia is going to need a new entry with anna’s name.  congrats!

Wow, that´s awesome!!! 141 reps … that´s very very cool :) congrats, dear anna!!

Ouu mmy arrms are hurt… I manage to do 66  for  10 mints…  next time i will push hard to get it in  10  mints 100 Burpees …  It was nice,…

  • Anonymous

I have to cut most of my bodyrock workouts to under 5 minutes do to time constraints…..so 4:30 I did 50 dead man burpees.  The heart was racing pretty good so goal accomplished.  I will do another one or two 5 minute power workouts later today.  AWESOME!!!!

  • http://twitter.com/theNLridersWife theNLridersWife

90 and proud! Last time I did a burpee challenge (last week) I only got 77. Woop!

  • Bohdanam

    105

  • Ioana_mo86

Well, I must admit after reading the comments here I wasn’t that proud of me anymore…But anyway. I did exactly 100 burpees today. I set my goal for 100 at least, so I was pretty happy I managed to reach it. I’ll keep this workout in mind and repeat it in a few weeks, if so many people managed to do 20-30 over 100, I gotta be able to do it too. Regardless, I loved this short and super efficient workout. Thanks Zuzana :)

    • Vivi

Scores put here are not to discourage but to motivate !!! I too was beaten well, but it is not grave!
      I will “ROCK” again & again !!!!

And You should not either forget that we have each the own capital of departure of faculties, training, breath etc….It is necessary to compete with an “equal” person and then to try to exceed her.
I noticed that Maria is a good motivation for me because she’s better than me, but for the moment It should be impossible for me to try to beat Cinthia Hanna !!!! I’m just a human me not a robot !!hahaha

      • MariaBjørgJepsen

What a sweet comment for Ioana, Vivi :) And for me too, because I can motivate you. But YOU motivate me too, to keep on pushing, because our scores are so close. I know it is completely ridiculous, but I got so angry at myself, just because I got beaten in my score today. So silly! I have very high expectations when it comes to my very own perfomance. So I just “punished” myself by beating my first scores in the “Amazing Abs” workout. Cynthia is def my greatest cardio motivator :)

        • Vivi

Me I made See your abs (yesterday’s workout) after this one and me was so angry to still put my feet in my jump rope  !!!!Grrr ….At first because that whips arms (hahaha) and then because that breaks all the ryhtme of the interval ! :(
It is true that Cynthia is a redoubtable competitor but it’s too early for me “to rub” me there! haha

  • Catherine

I have been seriously bodyrocking for one week. This was my seventh workout. But today I ate really bad….. Chocolate cake and Lots of bread with butter. I hav been trying really hard with my diet since I started but I gave in today and felt miserable. But I pushed my self really hard with this workout and I feel much better. Tomorrow I will strive to eat way better and push myself farther than my limit!!

    • Anonymous

I have days like that too but every now and then you gotta treat yourself! just not too often haha.

    • Heather

I had about a month like that – after 5 months of bodyrocking! I’m back on track and you’re going to make it, too! I find that sore muscles help me remember to ‘fuel’ my body instead of over feed it! You can do it!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1262670015 Emma Kuzda

I ate really bad this week, much worse than you, since I ate chocolate cake with enough cookies to last me the entire year thrown in there.  Here’s to getting back on track and staying on it!

    • Armriley

Catherine, try reading “The Coconut Diet” by Cherie Calbom. It’s a great book that’s not just a “diet” but it really helps retrain you on how to eat to stay healthy for the rest of your life. After having my two children I dropped from 185 to 145 in three months – and this was by consuming 1500+ calories a day and moderate exercise. So I was not starving myself, or over-exerting myself. I felt so alive, full of energy, my headaches disappeared, and EVERYTHING about me improved. It’s hard, because the knowledge it the book will completely rock your world, but it’s so worth it because it completely annihilates junk food cravings. Get it cheap on ebay or amazon. Best of luck to you!!!

84 only, and I am dying!!! Out of breath, red like a tomato, but sooooo happy. I really though I was gonna make it till 100 :( At 5:00 mark I was at 52, and I slowed down after that a little.. :(
    Next time, Brutus!!!!

    • MariaBjørgJepsen

Nina, you should be very, very proud! If you really felt like dying or “just” puking, then it means you pushed to the max, my dear :) ROCK ON!!!!
Much love, Marrrrria (rolling on the “r” as if I was a hot latina, lol, I wish)

      • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Thank you Marrrrrrria :) I feel like dying A LOT, especially now, when it is so hot outside. My apartment is right under the roof so most of the time it is VERY HOT here, even with all windows opened. I have a low blood pressure and low iron level in my blood which (doctor told me) makes me tired and exhausted more quickly. But it has always been my excuse for not working out, while truly I was lazy :D

    • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

Ninka, be proud of yourself as Maria said! :) It’s great score…! and remember that you CAN always may worse day to keep physical level. :) I’m sure that next time you do more than 100 (with face like a strawberry :))) :*). NICE!!! :)

      • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

        Thank you, Dorka :)))
I was a couch potato for 25 years of my life, so I cannot expect to hit the records all the time after a few months, in takes some time to “undo” that lazy life I had in the past :)))

“[...]remember often the hardest barriers to overcome are the ones we place on ourselves.”
yeah, that is the case with me – afterwards I think that I could do the 100 reps but somehow I was not able to put my whole energy into it – there was a barrier I was not able to break. So I did “only” 89….only one rep more per minute….*sigh*….but next time! :)

  • Samanthina

I have just did 110 .I’m out of breath and my heart is going to blow up.It’s a hard challenge.

  • Janessa Reimer

i just did 85 burpees, i was pushing at my very max effort! i am so out of breath! this was a very hard challenge, but i was pretty close to doing 100 reps! next time i do this challenge i am going to do 100 reps! good job everyone!!!

    Hi there,

as I was going through the comments I decided to do this latter, although I did my workout for today..and I now have some girls to catch with the scores..they know who they are…

    kisses to you all

    • MariaBjørgJepsen

I like you very, very much, dearest girlfriend :*

  • Rusty81_99

So how many did you guys do, Zuzana and Freddy? I was hoping to see your scores… :)

  • zsukam

That was pretty close :) 101 I hit the score! wohooo when I was doing the 25th I was thinking how will I do 100 reps?? And time has gone and did it :) yesss! Thanks for the great workout Z & F :)

    • MariaBjørgJepsen

      Beautiful – be proud!!!!! :D

      • zsukam

        Thanks! :)

  • Maria Sweden

Woohoo! 78 burpees in 10 minutes. I’m happy with that because I did my best. Next time I’ll do 22 more = 100. =)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paulina-Stoyanova/1317375741 Paulina Stoyanova

100 exactly!! I did my 100th jump and the alarm went off. So close!! I was absolutely certain I couldn’t do it. I was thinking I’d be happy if I’m able to do 60 but I guess I underestimated myself :D My pace was 10 burpees a minute then. I’m hoping I can raise it even higher next time :]

  • Heather

106 from a person who had decided to take a ‘rest day’. Woo! Take that, Brutus! Thanks for the inspiration everyone! i couldn’t have done it without you!!!

  • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

I completed 92 reps – argh so darn close! I did this prior breakfast and not to mention I didn’t have dinner the night before plus my buns and legs are still sore from unassisted one leg squats that I’ve been practicing lately. Will do this challenge again! :D

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001544872752 Anna Carolina F

I´m pretty sure you will make it! You re having mostly great scores here ;)

      • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

        Aww thanks! :D

Oh man. I so want to do this but I am currently down with the flu and a bad case of sinusitis. I guess I will keep this one in mind when I recover, don’t want to exert my body at the moment. Nice scores bodyrockers…keep it up!  love and blessings <3

  • Mo

96  reps in 10 min! I’m exhausted but happy. This was my first time doing this exercise. I enjoyed this workout so much because I thought it was too challenging for me but I decided to give it a try because Zuzana said to do our best, no matter what the score was. In only two weeks I’m completely changing the way I see and feel my body. Thank you!

    • Anonymous

I did also 96 reps!!! :) When I was done about 20, I though I couldn’t never reach for 100. Then I realize that I have done 50! …60…70…80… Just 20 more!!! And I push it like crazy! :D It was so much fun! Next time we can do over 100 reps! ;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1262670015 Emma Kuzda

I managed to complete 60, but without any jumping since I didn’t want the house to shake (I’m on the second story)

  • Bodyrocker from Virginia

OMG! Just finished and that was a great challenge!  It was a race with the timer.  I got 100 in 9:35 secs.  Thanks for setting a goal for me to be challenged but also feel satisfied with a great workout!

Burpees is something I can’t seem to improve, I did the Burpee Fusion 3 or 4 times and I’m always stuck at the same numbers. Other workouts I usually improve little by little, but burpees are no go.

I was actually able to complete 97!!!  I am shocked to say the least.  I have been doing these workouts for about 2 1/2 weeks now, so I still consider myself somewhat new at this.  I never thought I would do that many.  I started out pretty cocky about it but then about 20 seconds in, realized I would really have to push through, which I did!  I was breathing so hard and was totally wiped out after.  I still managed to do some ab work and go for a 30 minute power walk somehow.  I don’t have time to go to the gym so I am super excited about finding you guys!  I was working out on my own at home before, but this has offered me the knowledge and motivation to get to where I want to be physically.  I am an almost 40 (shhhhh), working full time, finishing college online, single mom and desperately needed this workout routine to keep me going throughout the day!!!  Thanks for being here!!! :):)

83!!! that’s great! for me! I pushed real hard… I tried to squeak out 2 more, but the timer went… Oh well! Next time!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001076654777 Stephani Livingston

80 for me today! Next time I will get 100!!! Great job everyone :)

  • Dheana

You guys put me to shame! …Ok, no – you INSPIRE me! (that’s better)

I messed up my timer, so when I looked down at 50 and saw it wasn’t running I almost died! I decided to “break the barrier” and go for 100, which took me *approx* 10 mins…maybe 11! ;) Guess I’ll have to try this one again soon to know for sure and to try to push past into some of the numbers you guys are pulling off…141 Anna? 132 Maria? And Cynthia, 168?! Wow! You guys are ROCKSTARS!

Actually, anyone who put their sweaty best on the mat today is a rock star, so let’s all celebrate!

PS, Donna inspired me with her tales of doubling up, so I decided to do Epic Abs after a ten minute rest! Whew! Thanks for the inspiration Donna!

    • MariaBjørgJepsen

Dheana, you’re “Simply the Best” :)

    • Donna

Hey Dheana, I am really glad I inspired you but go easy girl and listen to your body. I found it very rewarding working out twice a day and that week I was really pumped but stopped when my body told me it had enough. This week I didn’t listen to the warning signs and they were there. My body has never ached like it did yesterday but I ignored it. I should of taken a rest day yesterday and didn’t and ended up bursting a blood vessel in the dead man burpee challenge:( You did great with the burpee challenge!!!

      • Dheana

Yikes! I hope you are okay!

Thanks for the warning. You’re right. It’s so important to find that balance between pushing the boundaries and respecting our bodies reqirement for rest.

“Hmm, is that Brutus or my biceps talking?” :)

        • Donna

Hey Dheana, thanks for your concern:) I’m just disappointed in myself for not listening to my body but some good will come out of it because I learned a valuable lesson and wont be doing this again.

Hubby, mum and my sister are on my case and I am sure I will hear more from the rest of the family tonight.

“It’s o.k to skip a workout if you are in physical pain”. Something I need to tell myself when I fell pain in my body…

    • http://www.facebook.com/dana.vanbeneden Dana Grace Van Beneden

DOH!  That sucks!  I was worried I did that during this workout.  I didn’t but it was in the back of my head the whole time

  • Anonymous

Unfortunately my headaches get in the way of all this jumping. :( With breaks for my head to stop pounding, I got to exactly 51. Pretty decent; by 6 I was already winded, haha. That’s better than I could have done a month ago though!

  • Caw316

excited about this one! though will have to begin it tomorrow, bootcamp tonight :-D Rock on!

I can´t believe it – I reached the 100 barriere *yeah* In ten minutes I did 107 Dead Man´s Burpees :) My shoulders burn so much *haha* amazing :)

With hurting calves from yesterday skipping :) 124! super intense :) love it :)

  • Anonymous

    125.  Whew!  weird, but the part of me that hurts the most now is my feet, so i finished off with a 1 1/2 minute headstand.  that’s the longest i could hold it yet!

  • MeaghanIsobel

I did 60 reps! When I was reading the intro where freddy said even just 30 I was worried that was all I would be able to do but I pushed really hard and did 60! That means next time maybe I will even be able to do 100! Im so proud of myself! I’ve been doing your workouts for a year and have been getting stronger and able to do more and more but I’ve never been consistent with them. One week I”ll do three or four workouts and the next week maybe none but for the past month or so I’ve been doing several per week and have made more progress in that month that in the whole year! Working out feels amazing and I honestly never want to stop!

  • Anonymous

Just finished. Yes, I did it! 103!

Interesting observation though: I think I could have squeezed in a few more reps but once I passed that 100 mark I noticed I slowed down a bit knowing that I passed the barrier. My mind stopped me; my body could have gone a bit further (although I was panting like crazy once the timer beeped).

  • Anonymous

    okay bodyrockers!!!!! I did…

    143 !!!!

o yea, at 20 i was thinking about just quitting at the pace i started at i was going to do over 200, then i was thinking that was way too much so i slowed myself down :( idk y i do that , but even with 3 breaks i think (pauses more than breaks) i still got 143.  this was rly challenging, but i know i can beat this next time.  I wont psych myself out our overwhelm myself by thinking about how many are left.

On another note, i just conducted the summer’s first “fat” camp lmao.  Im helping my friend get in shape, but she is NOT fat at all, just an unathletic weakling.  i hope to transform her into a bodyrocker! We have a long way to go lol her, her boyfriend, and her mini 4 year old niece did a modified version of the 365 rep workout, with 30 seconds per exercise and 2 rounds.  They were DYING, even though we took a rly long break between the 2 8 minute rounds lol.  I need to get a video of her niece because she is so flippin adorable,  and shes like the size of a doll! i taught her burpees and she loves them so much!!!

  • Carly

Man, reading some of others numbers makes me see I have a lot of work ahead of me. I did 78 and I felt like I wanted to throw up mid way.  Legs were sore from jumping them in then jumping again. I think I used me knees a little too much as well when going back up because they have little bruises on them. Oops! Hope to do a challenge like this in the future and hopefully see improvements.

Good job everyone! Can’t wait to see Zuzana results.

    • Anonymous

      Carly
I find the cardio requirement of burpees killer diller too. I’ll post tomorrow, but I doubt I’m going to hit 100. I think 75 is a very proud number!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Deleena-Noble/100001972292620 Deleena Noble

I did 51!  I will beat that next time!

  • sselcann

omg people you all rock!! most of you are over 100. amazing. burpees are my nightmare. it is still a very tiring exercise for me. i couldnt dare doing this one yet. i think i can do max 50 and then i will get disappointed with myself. but this week i ll give it a try anyways. i m just trying to mentally prepare myself to burpees :P it is the scariest exercise for me :S

    • Anonymous

      Sselcann

Just set your goal for 50 then but like rene05 said go for the full 10-minutes. If you go over it’ll be fantastic, but if you make 50 it’ll be perfect too. Of if you’re kinda sure you’d get 50, then set the bar at 60 to give yourself a bit more incentive.

I bet you do better than you think.

  • Mo

All I can say is that you have to force yourself to start… These workouts are so short that if you manage to start you are already halfway! Maybe you won’t be able to do your workout at best but you’ll feel better after exercising, I promise!

    • Carmen1vr

Since I started BR my period doesn’t bothers me as before. Whenever I doing my workout I also stick to my healthy food intake…….is something that naturally comes together, at least for me. Anyhow, this keep my cramps at bay and the nasty bloating feeling under control.

      • Mo

ITA. Since I’ve started bodyrocking I’ve been feeling better and eating better. I’m not overweight but my problem has always been emotional eating and it’s easier to cope with it since I’ve started with these workouts.

  • Anonymous

tell yourself that u will feel beyond amazing afterwards, so much better than u do now.  and u may not even want to feel good at that point, but just move your body, and your mind will follow:)

  • Anonymous

GAHHHH blast you, Dead Man burpees!

If it were regular burpees, I could have done more than 100 for sure.

    Until next time….

  • Donna

I love bodyrocking and hate to miss a workout. I had an ankle injury not related to exercising and had to take 5 days off which was very hard for me. I did what the doctor told me and was so pumped to begin working out again that I did two and three workouts in one day to catch up. I enjoyed that week and had no muscular pain at all.

This week I went back to one a day and by the third day I really felt my body was tired and run down. I had severe pain in both my legs above the knees. I couldn’t even lean my arm or elbows on my legs that’s how bad it was. I decided to take a day off yesterday because I knew my body would not allow me to do the fat destroyer or amazing fat burn which I had missed so I saw the dead man’s burpee challenge and my legs were not hurting as much as they were in the morning. I could walk, I could bend and kick with slight pain, so I told myself you can do a 10 min challenge. Boy was I wrong I should of listened because all the warning signs were there. I did the challenge and burst a blood vessel in my left leg just above my knee. I am always careful and have never had an injury with exercising. I truly thought I could only get more muscular pain and the worst would be I would walk like a cowboy for two days. I never knew I could burst a blood vessel working out. I have attached a photo so you can see my sore leg…

READ THIS, it blew my mind
“ It just so happens that many of the foods that are our favorites tend to be the ones that make us sick. Why? When you eat a food that makes your body ill, it releases endorphins (feel good hormones) to neutralize and offset the uncomfortable symptoms. Thus you equate this “high and happy” feeling with the food, producing an addiction.”

    from http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-2585/Is-Food-Affecting-Your-Yoga-Practice.html

    • tee

you quite often crave foods that you are allergic to as well!

  • Patrick

Beer before Burpees, not really as good an idea as it would seem.  94 reps.

Hey Zuzana, I wonder if you’ve ever heard of the new line of shoes that are out there. They resemble toe socks, but are more structured than just fabric. One brand is called Vibrams. I just thought it would be cool to see you in those types of ‘shoes.’ :-)

  • Dana Kocis

I have a helpful hint for this time, or any future time you guys do this Challenge!

I did this in the morning before work – I actually planned it out in a way to keep my bearings on where i am within the time barrier:

I set my Gymboss to 5 rounds with 2 intervals each of 1:00 minute sooo… 5 (1:00 + 1:00) = 10 minutes. Since obviously 100 reps in 10 minutes are approximately 10 reps each individual minute, my Gymboss let me know how I was doing on my way to the minimum goal.

I kept up 2 reps ahead of the beeps up until minute 7 or 8 when I desperately took a sip of water to help me out.

I did 101 dead girl’s burpees in the 10 mins – YAY! :) Next time going for 105+

  • Jennifer

Ok, only made it to 75 reps in 10 minutes!!!  But I gave it my all, and I know I will improve next time!  :)

  • Stephitza

I loved this challenge!  107.  I’ll be doing this one again!  Fun!!!  ;)

  • Jennifer

I usually drink coffee or have a handful of trailmix and then wait about 10 minutes for it to kick in.  But I still have to push myself to get through the barrier.  It is mostly mental, even though it feels so physical… so I just tell myself that I have to do something, even if I can’t finish the workout.  I usually find that I do more than I thought I could anyway, because once I get started, it gets a little easier.  Another thing I do is allow myself to indulge in something I am craving only if I workout first.  I know this may be naughty, haha, but I figure whatever gets me through it!  :)  But after some time, I have found it has gotten better, and my cramps have lessened over all and my energy has increased too.  So that helps me!  Good luck, and remember every woman faces this, you are not alone!!!  Here cheering you on! :)

  • Anonymous

I finally had time to post my score from doing this challenge this morning.  I was so paranoid that I wasn’t going to make the 100 in the 10 minutes that I kept up quite a steady pace…..and….I managed to do 33 1/2 of these Dead Man’s Burpees……wow…what an awesome workout!  I was whooped when I finished…but, then recovered quite readily……ready for the next challenge Zuzana and Freddy…bring it on!!!!

  • Jyesenia23

hey Zuzana How can I loss my belly fat?

  • Anonymous

I did it!! I broke the barrier with 105 :) Great job to everyone!

  • Anonymous

14 minutes, 28 seconds.  I thought I had this one until the end.  I manged to follow it up with some sandbag squats and box stepvups/calf raises.  Kind reminded me of the 300 workout, but not as difficult.

  • Melissa

I was excited to break the 100 mark!! I got 106!!

  • Donna

Hi Linda, I only started working out with mine the past 6 months. I always thought you had to rest your body on these days but my doctor told me it is actually better for you to workout during your cycle as it helps the body cope with it better. (Not for Pilates of Yoga) I have always had a light blood flow 3 – 4 days max but I found it helps with the cramps because I don’t get any anymore. This helps me because I can continue working out. I agree with Jennifer that’s it’s more mental than physical… Good luck with whatever you decide!!!

  • menia

    hi jorge, welcome!

if you look at the “about” tab near the top of the page next to facebook link. there is information for new people there.  also you can look on the right side of the page where it says “all exercises”  there are demo’s of many of the exercises, with beginner moves.

but basically you can just join in and make sure you watch the video and look at the pictures and copy the exercises at whatever level you are at. make sure you go slow enough so that you do the exercise well, and do as many as you can!

  • Anonymous

I sincerely believe that these workouts are as much a mind challenge as they are a body challenge.

I started the challenge with a goal of 50. Mind: “you can’t possibly do 100″
By the time I was at 20, Mind: “you are in trouble now, might not make it to 50″
25, decided I would count by 25. Mind: “Focus on your form, and do the best you can.”
50 OMG! Mind: “time is not up! How much more can I push past what I thought was my limit? GO 25 more!”
75, now I am high! Mind: “PUUUUUUSH YOU HAVE ALMOST 2 MINUTES, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!”

    BEEP, BEEP, BEEP…..99!!!!!!!

I love the 100 number! It makes us beginners feel like its a goal we can attain NOT a number only the fastest most fit can strive for.

Again, THANK ZUZ FOR HELPING ME PUSH MY MIND AND BODY!!!!!!

  • http://www.pure2raw.com Pure2raw Twins

great 10 minute workout! just did under 100 :( maybe next time we will break 100 burpees! still a little sore from workouts earlier in the week, but pushed through! way to go to all the other bodyrockers who broke 100, great job!

  • Zouzou

I have no idea either how I made it….but for sure 100% with you Ynieves, the mind makes a huge difference!

After 20 reps I told myself: “ok, you pathetic piece of marshmallow, it will be a miracle if you reach 50″. After 50 I got completely galvanized, and told myself “come on, do it 10 by 10 and see if you can push more, come on baby!”
Around 70 I got super high, sweaty, and making noises that surely my neighbor will interpret the wrong way!!! I I also clapped my hands every time I jumped up. At 90 it became heaven, with no breathe left…an asthmatic horse! I did just 100 in 10 minutes. The fun part is that I kind of slowed down half way and then pushed myself thinking of what a Body Rocker mind set should be on the second half.Zouzou

100 in 10min 30 sec…At the 10min mark I was at 96!!!! Kept going.  Dang! Now on to todays workout ;)

  • Cindy

I combined this one with the Pump it workout. 100 Dead-man burpees in 11 minutes followed by  4 sets of 21 reps of Barbell squat  (20 pounds) and 4 sets of 19 reps of Reverse push ups. I finished with 16 minutes medium intensity treamill running. I was shoking with my own sweat. Total workout time was about 35 minutes. Thanks!

Wooooooooooooooow!! You must have been very very fast! Good job =)

  • Lila Alejandra ♥

Arrrrggggg I’m disappointed!! I’ve been bodyrocking for some time now, how come I could only do 80?????? At the begining I thought it was going to be a pice of cake, because by the minute 5 I had done 50 already so I thought I could do it. When I got to 80 time was up and I’m like…what?????? Any way…I finshed 100 burpees in 12:51 sec :( :( :( It’s definitely a challenge to do 100 in 10 min for next time. Congrats to all who did make it!!

    Go team Mexico!!

  • Lila Alejandra ♥

    Amazing!!

  • Lisa

Holy, you rocked it then! You definitely beat the challenge! I wonder how many more you could have done in that last minute…

  • Lisa

You didn’t struggle. The challenge was really hard! And remember, YOU DID 99 BURPEES IN 10 MINUTES!! 99!

  • Lisa

    Nice work, Marina!

  • Lisa

    Not bad at all!

  • Lisa

    That’s ok, just keep going!

  • Lisa

Nice Jessica! 101 and you are quitting! Have you found “Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Quit Smoking”? Check it out if you haven’t. It’s awesome.

You are right, too much fruit and not enough protein and other carbohydrates like whole grains. You need to replenish your body when you are working out like you do and the fruit is just not cutting it. Fruit also has a lot of natural sugar in it too, so we have to be careful with portions. Try having a handful of the grapes, along with a handful of nuts like almonds or walnuts. (Keep the veggies in there!) That is one snack during the day. You should be eating more lean protein with each meal, try hard-boiled eggs, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, fish, chicken, etc. For complex carbs, the steel cut oats are good. Try brown rice, multi-grain bread. Don’t be afraid of carbs! Some people think eating less food will help them lose weight, but if you aren’t getting enough calories in a day and you are working out hard, your body will go into starvation mode and you won’t tone up at all. A snack I have been into lately is 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese with 2/3 c frozen berries. I make it or my snack later at work, and by the time I eat it, the berries have thawed. Add a 1/2 c cucumber or other veggie and you have a great snack.

Check out the “Food and Diet” section of this site for more ideas on Superfoods and how much and when you should be eating during the day. Good luck, hope this helped a bit.

  • Patrick

disappointed? you did 66 of those ridiculous (but good) evil burpees…. you worked hard, and you are confident.  nothing to be disappointed about.  :)

  • Zouzou

Did the dead man burpee workout yesterday afternoon and woke up this morning….feeling each centimeter of my body (nothing felt it was at the right place like a messed up puzzle)!!! …..One of those workouts I am afraid to try again because I know I could easily NOT beat myself next time!

  • http://twitter.com/JuJu2047 Renae Chartres

    Phew! did 123!!! :)

  • Annebel Wind

Mmmm I only did 84 reps… And here are people who did over 100, so I feel a bit sad.. But did my best, so…. Thanx for the workout guys….

    • Donna

Hey Annebel, please don’t feel sad:) You did your best and this was a tough challenge…

It is even harder than regular or reptile burpees, my arms were in fire

  • Anonymous

    yeah, I did 111 burpees :)

  • mbc3

my arms were pretty sore from the burpee fusion i did two days ago so i feel like i couldn’t push as hard but i managed exactly 100 in 10 min :)

I have the dip station & jump rope, but that’s all prop-wise.  I use dumbbells as a sandbag substitute.  I also search for body-weight-only workouts, & there are a ton of them!  For the workouts that involve the dip station, pull up bars, or sandbag, you can modify all of those or just substitute something else.  For example, at work I have no equipment, so if my group does a workout that should have knee raises on the dip station plus kicks over the dip station, I make it two separate exercises: roundhouse kicks (alternating sides), then lying leg raises.  To make it more intense, I may add high knees between.  Another dip-station-less modification I do: for burpee-knee raises on dip station, I’ll do burpee-knee hugs.  After the push-up in the burpee, roll over & do a knee hug, then roll over & complete your burpee.  At home, you can make a dip station using two chairs & a broomstick.  I used this before I had a dip station for reverse push-ups.  Also, if you have a park nearby your home, there may be gymnastic rings or parallel bars…that’s a great place to take your workout!   Many BRockers write about using duffel bags full of stuff instead of a sandbag.  See the bottom photo on the following link for a picture of Zuzana using chairs/broomstick.  I hope that helps!

  • Migoshman

    hi from Normandy, everybodyrockers :)

when I read that a lot of bodyrockers had reached the 100 reps, I wanted to reach it too ^^ so I began : my goal was to make the first 50 as quick as possible and then economize my breath. Because it is all a question of cardio, once again ^^ even if at the end, it is difficult to get up from the ground :D
When I reached the 100, I had already another mark in head : 125 ^^
    I had a few minutes left, so I did a few more to finally reach… 131 !
Maybe with the few seconds I lost to remove first my sweat then my tee-shirt I could have made 2 or 3 more xD
Well, I love burpees too, I love zuzana and freddy, I love you all ^^
    A la prochaine !

WOW you guys! You did 132, 126, 113 and 98….. you are awesome! I feel like a loser against you…. I did only 69… and I’m done!!!

  • Julia

    hey guys,

i just finishes this workout, ’cause i’ve been ill during the last week. i don’t now, but that might be the reason why i still felt weak today. i only was able to complete 35 burpees today.

and i have a question, maybe someone can give me an advice. i don’t know why but it happens very often, that i am not motivated enough to do sports. and if i’m doing then i always feel bored or weak so that i lose my motivatin during the exercices. Can you give me an advise how get more motivation?

but i still love this site, cause otherwise i wouldn’t do any sport :)

    greetings from germany

I did 84 of these yesterday and I PUSHED myself so hard!! I wanted to reach 100 but its ok…I did my best!! And I have bruises today on my knees to prove it!! LOL

  • Charlie D.

Ok, I’m taking a different tack.  Because I’m a total burpee whiner, I know I’m going to putz around and write something like, “so disappointed, I only managed 3.5 burpees – next time I’ll try harder…” so I’m going to do 100 if it takes me all day.  I’ll let you know my time.

  • Charlie D.

I just did 100 in 9:22!  That’s funny – I thought this would work better for me – the last time I tried to do “as many as i could” in 10 minutes I got somewhere in the 30s.  Eat that, burpees.

  • Tanya_rogozhina

I have been bodyrocking for a while now, but I’m on vacation in Poland seeing my family, so I’ve been slacking a bit :P I hit 85 in 10, but kept going at my own pace to finish atleast 100. I’m trying to keep up with some workouts atleast, but I can’t say I’ll do all of them and eat great, cuz I mean, I AM on vacation. And I’m sure many here know how hospitable Europeans are and would like you to eat and eat! :P

Did this killer today – 95! Damn so close! I really tried to push. Aiming for 100 soon, just need to keep on rockin’!

Hey everyone, I just did this workout today and being new I was trying to shoot for as many as I could do. Seeing all the people who reached 115+ amazes me! What an amazing workout for you guys! I only got 80 burpees in this time but I will definitely keep working. Who knows maybe next time I will reach 100!

    Way to go everyone!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Samantha-Robinson/1573777458 Samantha Robinson

In the 10 mins I did 47. I pushed it with all I had in me. My boyfriend did it right after I did and he did 52 in the 10 mins. But I was mad that he did more so I set my timer as a stopwatch and did 53 more just to get to 100 and i finished the 53 in 15:03. I am very happy I pushed myself to the 100 even after the 10 mins!

  • Brittany Beedle

I hit 80 burpees exactly as my arms went up in the air the alarm went off. Felt so victorious! I never thought I would do that many! woohoo!

54 and I am exhausted. I completely underestimated this exercise. The weakest point of my body are my arms and I truly felt that during this work out. I am going to focus more on them in upcoming work outs and look forward to beating my score next time!

Yeah, the counting made it feel harder.

damn, dropped from 107 to 100 this time. maybe it was due to the long day of working and the everlasting pain in my legs from the cardio legs & core workout :)

Um…I only got to 35 before I almost puked :(. I’ve been doing this for over a month and I couldn’t even do ONE pushup. So I’m improving sort of :)!!

hey!  I did this challenge right after finishing work tonight!  I tried as hard as I could and managed to get to 80 reps.  I had to take a few breathers in order to live but I just can’t understand how some people are doing like 170!  I mean you actually have to lay down and spread your hands out in between, not like a regular burpee which you don’t touch the floor!  wow, I sure would have liked to see video of some of these people!  Last time I did this challenge was august/11 and I only made it to 63 reps, so good improvement even though I was tired from work!  I’m happy!

    • sselcann

170 is crazy!!! maybe it’s not with the best form?? it should be “quality over quantity”, isn’t it? :))

      • Anonymous

That’s what I was wondering, I mean how do you actually lay down going that fast without slamming yourself into the floor? lol
