BodyRocker Rossina – Team Colombia

It’s not common to associate exercise and healthy habits with the artist’s lifestyle. Nevertheless: I’m an artist, and I’ve become as disciplined with my Bodyrock’s workouts as I am with my profession. Your workouts have helped me not only to be in the best shape I’ve ever been, but also to deal with depression and to feel more empowered. That’s why I’d like to share my latest art video with you http://vimeo.com/22207166, for which I trained during six months, alternating Bodyrock workouts and free style dance routines.

Thank you for the inspiration and the amazing workouts!

Hi Rossina!  I was very impressed by your strong willpower. You do kick asses!. And so do BodyRockers!

I was VERY interested by your sentence: “it’s not common to associate exercise and healthy habits with the artist’s lifestyle. ” I had never thought about it. (ok we have to leave aside dancers as they also are artists and their main instrument is their body).

I write and illustrate. I could not live without doing this. I would slowly suffocate, probably lose interest in all the rest. But same with sport.

In fact, I always have had a sporty activity and an artistic activity. I started ballet at the age of 4 and at that age I was already drawing every day of my life. Throughout my life I never felt that artistic activities could stop me from doing sport or vice versa. Personally art is not leading me to unhealthy life habits at all – even if hours are consumed in drawing and writing (therefore sitting for hours) I always discipline myself to train – I could not stop it either, and the BodyRock method is ideal to be efficient and not waste time. So I found this comment of yours very interesting and it raised questions in me.

How about other BR? Ever experimented one or the other?

I’m a dedicated piano player, though I never aspired to becoming a professional pianist. My first teachers all taught me a not so very healthy technique and I developed a sort of tennis elbow with really bad muscle inflammation in both forearms. So I began playing under a new teacher who taught me a new technique and started intensifying my workouts to unburden the strained muscles. Since then this inflammation has all but disappeared.
I also remember reading the post of a violinist on BodyRock some time ago. So yes, definately artists here :)

Hi Hanna! I unfortunately stopped piano after 10 years practice. I still regret it but it would be a little hard now – I would not be ready to give it the time needed. be careful to your hands while body rocking ;-) :-) It is nice to read that you play piano. I think it is one of the most beautiful instruments in the world!

Good luck with the inflammation. I know how painful some “wounds” are.

I am a dancer, I did ballet for many years and now I do pole dancing and some other variations on modern dance.

Nonetheless, for all the dancing I do, my body has responded in such an amazing way to Bodyrocking. I’m hooked. And like you, I need to move, I need to sweat and I need to release this energy inside :)

This was truly beautiful! A completely free expression of the human aesthetic, and a powerful demonstration of functional beauty. Very nice!
