Romantic Burpees in Verona – I Burpeed Juliet!
Hi BodyRockers,
So we have been discovering all kinds of interesting cultural phenomenon on our trip so far. Italians look at you like you are crazy if you order coffee before your meal. Italians look at you like you are crazy if you add water to your white wine to make a spritzer. Actually some of them wince and mutter “mama mia what are you doing to the wine?” Italians think you are crazy and yell at you when you drive the wrong way up a narrow one way road… but that’s another story :) In Verona it’s custom to cup Juliet’s boob in your hand while you pose for a picture with her (see the video). Can anyone please explain this one? What does it mean and why do people do it? We not only grabbed her boob but we also Burpeed her too which I am pretty sure is a first :) All in all we had an amazing time in Verona – and we Burpeed in possibly the most romantic spot yet…
Hope you enjoy our video :)
Best,
Freddy & Zuzana
It’s been quite a while since we’ve done a Fashion Haul, so we decided to do a mini-haul in the video. We went to Freddy’s favourite store and I tried some things on in the women’s section. I have been looking for a cool pair of boy-shorts and a jean skirt for quite a while so I decided to gives these a try.
I also found a tank top that I really liked. To see what I bought and where I was shopping you will have to watch the video :)
Here I am having a white wine spritzer in the main square just inside the city gates.
The arena in Verona is quite pretty but very small when you compare it to the Colosseum in Rome. I’m not sure what went on here for entertainment, but it has a much softer vibe than the Colosseum. Maybe they just BodyRocked in there?
This grand looking building is right next to the arena. It is quite impressive looking with all of the columns, but it doesn’t come across as very old.
Here is Freddy snapping away pictures on his iphone. He has become even more passionate about iphoneography as is just constantly seeing little wonders that he needs to shoot :)
Same church – it’s so pretty we had to take photos from every angle :)
I think one of the reasons that we loved Verona is that it has managed to retain an authentic feeling despite the tourists and souvenir shops. You feel like you are in a real place – not something that has been put on as a cheap tourist trap.
Everywhere you look people have planted little gardens of flowers and greens in the window boxes that decorate their balconies…
Here if Freddy cameras in hand :)
There are banks of scooters everywhere in the city – it’s a very popular way to get around town, but you have to be careful because when you are driving a car they can sneak up on you and they tend to weave in and out of traffic.
Here I am following our map up yet another side street determined to find Juliet’s balcony :)
Here it is! I was so excited to finally see Juliet’s balcony even tho it was nothing like in the movie. This place is increadibly loud and jammed with tourists.
Everyone was touching her boob. Why?
Although we didn’t know the answer, we both felt like we had to do that as well. I did it on the video and Freddy in this picture.
Have you ever seen so many love messages?
I had a hard time to find at least a little spot for us BodyRockers :)
We don’t know the name of this piazza, but we Burpeed it anyways because it’s so pretty.
I snapped this picture just because I think that there is something increadibly sweet and romantic about a young couple driving a scooter. I actually kind of miss the summer times when we used to drive our torture machine (that’s what we used to call our scooter).
The same street and the same couple through the iphone lense.
We were just on the way to Giardini Guisti when Freddy snapped this picture with his iphone.
I was trying to compete with my camera. Which one do you like more? Say mine please :)
This is Giardini Guisti – a place that I really wanted to see right after Juliet’s balcony.
It was even better than the balcony. This place is just beutiful, peaceful, and romantic. It’s the most beautiful garden that I have ever seen.
This is probably one of the most romantic places on earth. At least it felt like that to me. Freddy was hungry at the time so his thoughts were milling around Pasta Carbonara :)
We really wanted to stay for the sunset, but the opening hours are only until 8pm so we had to leave before the sun went completely down.
We saw this as we were leaving the Garden.
This face reminded us of Brutus – this is how I imagine the voice in my head that I often battle with during my workouts.
