Let It Go! Workout

Hi BodyRockers,

So you have heard of the fountain of youth? We found the fountain of weight loss and it’s located here in the Mount Blanc region of France. This miraculous fountain springs from the mouth of a bronze lion and it’s clear, refreshing waters run down from some hidden snow peaked mountain pool high above. I stopped on our trek through the narrow alley ways of Annecy’s old town and bent to quench my thirst in it’s crystal stream – then spent the next 48 hours huddled and shivering on the toilet. So if you have 10 pounds of stubborn weight to lose I suggest you set out on a quest to find this incredible liquid cleanse. I can’t claim that it is “gentle” or quiet for that matter, but it does work. I’m not giving out the specific directions to this wonder of weight loss because we have plans to bottle it and import it to the North American market. Word to the wise – invest heavily in stocks of companies that produce bathroom tissues. Travel tip: Do not drink from public fountains :)

Freddy

P.S.

We have just a few days left here in France, and now that I have recovered we are planning on continuing our Burpees Everywhere tour :) You can follow Zuzana & I on our facebook page here – we will be posting pictures and little updates there as well as all of our new workouts :) It’s the best way to subscribe to BodyRock.Tv and keep up on new posts.

Instructions:

I explained each exercise including modifications in the video above.

This workout is only 12 minute long interval training so it’s up to you to make it as intense as you can in order to burn maximum calories and get the maximum benefits of all exercises. Set your Interval Timer for 24 rounds of 10 and 20 second intervals. This workout is a circuit of 4 exercises that you will repeat 6 times. You have just 20 seconds for each exercise and 10 seconds of rest in between so try to really push at your max effort. Just a little tip at the end. Write down your reps after each round and focus on beating those reps in the next round – it will help you to keep the pace up if you have a specific goal in your mind. As you can see I did 17 reps of Side Jump Lunge in the first round and in the second round I managed to improve by one rep because I was being focused on beating my own score.

My scores:

1) Side Jump Lunge – 17, 18, 18, 16, 18, 17 (with Fit Ball)

2) Pendulum – 36, 35, 35, 32, 34, 34 (with Fit Ball)

3) Sandbag Clean – 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6 (with Sandbag)

4) Ugi Squeeze – 34, 34, 36, 34, 35, 33 (with Fit Ball)

Enjoy your workout!

haha oh wow, I’m so sorry. Being tied to the pot is no fun at home or abroad.

  • Stephanie.W

Can’t wait too do this work out tonight =)

  • BodyRockAddict

I haven’t yet watched this. But I see it has the UGI again. I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to this amazing piece of equipment. I actually try to find ways of incorporating it into some of my old favorite BodyRock routines. It just adds so much intensity and burn!!!!

Enjoy your vacation! You’ve got my feet twitching to some of those places!

Whoa, Freddie, you are hardcore. Ha ha. I’m glad your distress passed ;)

I want to ask you why do you where bra under sportbra?

    • Anonymous

Because I don’t find this particular sportbra to be that supportive :)

      • Anonymous

Hi Zuzana and all girls actually, I have been using sports bras made by Moving Comfort and they are really good, very supportive. They actually have them on different levels of support ( like most companies do now days ), and they are very comfortable too. Also the Champion 360 is pretty good and sometimes they have sales, buy one get one. The Moving Comfort ones are made of a softer material though.

        • Anonymous

yes moving comfort bra that i have is amazing! i think its called juno.  nike bras give like no support

          • Anonymous

Yes, they really are the best. I buy them online at sometimes half the price they are in the store. They are crazy coloured ( probably that’s why they go on sales like that ), but I really don’t care. There are also the CW-X, these ones are like wow ! I was really impressed with the support.

    Hi everyone!

    Freddy, you are hilarious!
Good to know you are feeling better, that means you can get the new business running and I can invest me some in cleaning devices :)

I am starting a new wkout routine tomorrow, so I am going to get behind on my bodyrocks for a while – however once I get back to normal I have the goal to do all the BR wkouts I missedt and catch up with the schedule (I will love it)

    take care!

It looks like French microbes are a miracle of weight loss and gastrointestinal discomfort as well lmao. I’ve lost 32lbs since Feb doing your workouts and playing in a city basketball league. Thanks so much and I plan on doing this work out as soon my food digests. I can see my abs!

  • Amstrub

Zuzana, I have a question. Do you ONLY do this one work out a day to stay so fit? I am wondering if eating right and doing just one of these exercises a day can really transform my body – or do I need to do more?  I would like to know if you do more in one day, what else do you do for exercise?

We just do the workouts that we post :) No exercising behind your back. The diet is a big part of it – see the posts in the diet section – and we take the basic supplements listed here on the site.

  • Angela

Poor Freddy! :( That is the worst! I hope you are feeling better!!

I don’t have my Ugi ball yet (It’s being shipped next week, YES!!) so I did the exercises without the ball. Here were my scores:

    Pendulum: 29 30 32 35 40 32

This is not really related to this post, but I don’t know where to write it. For all of us who are looking for great and healthy snack/sweet substitute, here are some great recipes from Jamie Eason http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/get-lean-eat-clean-with-jamie-eason-main-page.htm
I’ve tried her carrot cake and it’s delicious AND super healthy!! I really like her, cos she’s is super cute and down to earth, just like “our” Zuzi! And I’ve only recently found out she has survived breast cancer, so she is really inspiring! :)

    • AudraG

I made her Cinnamon bread and it was to die for.

      • Anonymous

        @AudraG:disqus ,
I wanted to make that next, so now I know it’s definitely gooood! Doing it first thing in the morning! :) I also want to try the rest of her recipes, they sound and look really good!

  • AudraG

Rats!  Already did my leg training for the day and showered too.  I will have to save this booty blaster for Friday ;)  So you had a little Montezuma’s Revenge eh Freddy?  Note to self:  Stick with bottled water when traveling  :)

  • jea

However you can drink the local water in Rome because of the volcanic ash that sits underneath the soil. In case you question next time. :)

  • Flyrn04

Nice to have you back!  This was a great short burst workout.  Sweat is pouring now after I finished.

Hey Freddy, it is awsome to see the lengths that you guys will go to to keep us Bodyrockers entertained… I think you gave us all a great laugh and reminded us of our own fond travel tummy misfortunes.  Many thanks! …And you are looking super cool as always.

  • Tammy77

Awwwwwww! Sorry to hear you were sick Freddy :(

  • Anonymous

Oh dude that’s the worst! Take it easy rehydrating you can get a real tummy ache. We’re so spoiled with fountains being a given for clean water in North America.

  • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

Aw sorry to hear your water poisoning story, Freddy. Hope you feel much better now. Yikes, having tummy problem during vacation surely no bueno

I had a “weight loss burger” in Vegas last year.  I guess I shouldn’t have asked for medium-rare (legally, we can only serve them well-done in Canada), but I thought “how bad could it be?”.  Maybe we could market that burger with your water?  Dragon’s Den, here we come!

  • Anonymous

Aaww man. Just looking at that fountain you could see that you would be ‘loosing some weight’. Sorry to hear about your mishap, but glad to know you’re alright. I am sure Zuzana took good care of you!

  • Donna chiotis

Freddy will never drink from a fountain ever again no matter how thirsty he is or how tempting or crystal clear the water looks;) Sorry to hear about your misfortune and glad to hear you have lived to tell the tale…

Hi guys, thanks for new workout! :)

I just wanted to say that I made a small tool to search for bodyrock workouts from archive – http://fitness.litealloy.ru/workouts/tags . I created it for myself, but maybe it will be useful for someone else too (information about workouts is not full yet, but I’m working on it).

    • Glowmerida

       hi lightalloy!
your site is great!!! it’s always hard to find a “fitting” workout when there are no new ones at the moment, and this makes it a lot easier! thanks!
I also have a suggestion: could you include tags about equipment, so that it’s easier to find workouts without equipment or with certain equipment? that would be absolutely fantastic! maybe zuzanna and freddy want to use something like this for the new bodyrock-site?! ;)

      • Anonymous

Yes, I plan to create such kinds of tags and to work on other tags too.
I suppose Zuzana and Freddy will have smth like this on their site in future, but maybe it won’t be soon, cause they and their developers are very busy) so I decided to create it for current use.

        • Mary Lou

Fabulous! That will be great when you’re on vacation, or where ever, and don’t have all the equipment with you!

        • pstania

That is very nice from you it is great tool if you dont know which you will do it today and just pick one.Thank you

    • Vivi

Very nice! I often look to archive, & my computer is so slow! With your site it should be faster with all on the same page!
Thanks to share it with us <3

    • Anonymous

This is so great ! Thanks so much ! So often I just have time for a 12 minutes workout and I wish they were all listed under a “12 minutes ” category. This makes it so much easier !

Wow! What a great tool lightalloy – thanks SOOOO much for sharing!

        • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

Good Job Im sure Zuzana & Freddy are really appreciate your efforts :)
I think that the easiest way to look around the WOs is simply by viweing them as photos at the “All Workouts” category like that: http://www.bodyrock.tv/category/daily-workouts/all-workouts/?view=gallery&pagesize=80&sort=date&order=desc

Have a great day !!! Keep up Rockin’ it :D

I love this!! I do find the search function on the site a bit weak as it doesn’t always pick up a title I enter right away and I have to search through pages and pages of information and the ctrl-F function doesn’t help. Thanks so much for putting this together!!!! I also agree with Glowmerida, if it’s not too tough to add, a note about the equipment needed (as we don’t all have everything she uses). SUCH a great idea!

      • Anonymous

        Thanks )
I think about adding some equipment-pieces tags, but I also want to keep tags list short and simple, so I’m still thinking about it)

  • Vivi

Poor Freddy… I really hope your better today.
I would have prefered that you had another souvenir of France :p

Just I would like to say to you that It is very pleasant to see you answer more and more to bodyrockers ;)
It is pleasant to exchange with you and to have your precision :D

  • Vivi

Could you just answer me Zuzana or Freddy to a question which stay in my head without answer, about your diet plan ;)
You talked about drink green tea, and no more coffee, WHY ?
I drink coffee without sugar or milk, so no calorie.
In a diet what is the impact of green tea instead of coffee ?
Thanks to give me precision about it. <3 Kiss

i did sandbag squats instead of sandbag cllean becasue i used a bagpack as my sandbag and i used my wheely computer chair t give me the unstability of the exercise ball for pendulum

    side jump lunge-34/30/33/36/34/36
    pendulum-50/49/54/51/50

    ugi squeeze-34/40/35/40/41/41

  • AmberRose31

this was such a killer on my legs!!!  I pushed so hard…still didn’t come close to some of the scores posted on here.  Used 2 5lb hand weights for the lunges, bodyweight for pendulums, did the jump squat that was demonstrated in the video for the sandbag clean, and used my stability ball for the ugi squeeze.  I did this workout twice, (24min) for an extra challenge!

    Side Jump Lunge: 16,12,12,11,10,10   12,10,12,10,12,12
    Pendulum:              28,19,19,20,20,20  20,24,27,26,26,32
    Sandbag Clean:     6,8,9,8,8,7               8,9,8,9,8,8
    Ugi Squeeze:          14,17,15,15,13,13   12,14,15,11,17,17

Thanks guys, Hope you feel better Freddy.

    Have a good day all.

Just finished this one….phew…and not bad after being up since around 2 a.m. with an 11 month old that apparently thought it was morning rather early….’lil stinker!!!

    Anyways, here’s my scores:
    1) Side Jump Lunge  – 17, 17, 18, 17, 17, 16
    2) Pendulum - 30, 29, 32, 33, 32, 32
    3) Sandbag Clean – 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6
    4) Ugi Squeeze - 28, 31, 31, 33, 31, 33

I used my homemade 8 lb. Ugi ball and my duffel bag filled with 30 lbs. of weight for the cleans.  Awesome workout!

Hope you’re feeling better Freddy…..I think we’ve all had a ‘weight-loss’ experience at least once in our lives……sometimes it’s so easy to forget that you’re not at home when you’re away from home……kind of reminds me of that part in the Sex in the City movie……always funny when it happens to someone else….

Looking forward to trying this workout at lunch today but first just wanted to say Thank You for suggesting alternative exercises for those of us who don’t have an Ugi or Sandbag (actually I do have a sandbag at home but will be working out at the gym today). I can usually figure out some way to modify or use a different piece of equipment, but just wanted to express appreciation for you taking the time to give us an alternative. You guys are the best!

Also, poor Freddy. Can’t help but laughing, but poor Freddy! Have to say though, looking pretty hot in that photograph buddy! Love your style! :)

    Happy Bodyrocking team! :)

I did this one today. I am also on vacation, no fancy equipment here, but I do have the most important equipment with me : my body and the floor :). I modified and replaced exercises; I did the side jump lunge without anything, pendulum on the floor, then squats and pike press. Went through this over the 12 minutes and it was quite intense.
Thanks for inspiring me and for sharing your adventures ! :)

    Hi everyone!!!
So I’ve been bodyrocking for 2 weeks (5 times a week) now and it’s been great, I’m still struggling with the food, I looove sweets and chocolate.. so it’s been a little hard to forget about them, but I think I’ll get there! …
so today without the equipment this is what I did :
    Side jump lunge = 24 24 25 28 25 24
    Pendulum = 29 19 29 27 39 40
    Sandbag Clean  = 13 12 12 11 11 11
    Ugi squeeze = 15 14 16 20 20 24 —> (variation without ugi was a hard one)

I love all of your workouts Zuzana and Freddy, they give me a lot of energy for the day :D
I have to get my equipment soon!!!

  • Mary Lou

Ugh. I’m glad you are feeling better. It reminds me of the time my husband was in India and had to deal with Delhi Belly… Ugh. I used the kids kickball for the jump lunges and ugi squeezes, did regular pendulums and had 20 lbs in the sandbag for the cleans.
    side lunge jumps: 16, 16, 16, 15, 16, 16
    pendulum: 38, 38, 38, 38, 37, 38
    sandbag clean: 5, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5
    ugi squeeze: 34, 31, 29, 30, 30, 31
I’ve had my helpers writing down numbers for me the last few days, I think I’d be jello if they weren’t. Now I have to get back into the swing of doing it myself…

    Hi guys!!!!! great workout
please can you answer a question that I have been asking it but maybe you doesn’t check it, I want to know what happend with fruits?? are we aboiding it on this diet plan?? or what?? I am a fanatic of fruits, so I want to know if I keep eating them everyday or not??, and how much of them are good??
PLEASE ANSWER TO ME :) FREDDY OR ZU!!
    my score:Side jump lunge = 17 16 16 16 15 15 (with my sandbag but with less weight)
    Pendulum = 39 31 40 36 44 33 (no ball)
    Sandbag Clean  =   4 5 6 6 7 6 (with sandbag)
Ugi squeeze = 32 29 33 28 28 26 (without the ball so I did the vertion without it and it was hard too!)

I am sad, because last year I lose weight but too much, (unhealthy) , so this year I started to eat to gain weight and working out, and it works! but last week I go to the balance and I feel that I gain too much weight! I don’t feel good to myself so I want to lose a little bit that I gain but my family is worry about me because maybe I can go to the extreme and lose too much, some advice guys??

    thanks I love you!!

    • ulla

Get rid of the scale as soon as you can.
Scales are evil, they make you believe in numbers. Instead, you’ll want to believe in what you see in the mirror, in the perfect fit of your favorite pair of jeans, and in body composition, if you need numbers somewhere. Focussing on weight is misleading, muscle is a whole lot heavier than fatty tissue.
Hope that helped. If there are other things, just ask. :-)

    • tee

yes you can eat fruit!  you should try to eat more vegetables than fruit generally. and zuzana’s diet are suggestions not law!  do what works for you!
I agree with ulla, numbers are very misleading.  Look at yourself in the mirror.  If you liked how you looked before you got on that scale, then don’t worry about that number!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Hi Zuzana, what are you using for weight in your sandbag instead of your usual garden rocks?  It’s so quiet and I imagine you don’t risk bruising your forearms like you did once before doing cleans.  I use 20lbs of small smooth stones from the shore of Lake Superior.  I really like that it is easy to adjust the weight but it sure makes a racket! Thanks! off to go do this one.

    • ulla

Might help if you stuffed them into cotton bags and wrap it all in and old towel before you put the whole shebang into the sandbag. Not just with the noise, but also with the bruising, I’d guess – but cannot give it a try. I use bottles in a duffel bag, myself.

      • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Ulla, thank you for making this suggestion.  I did wrap the inner bags of stones in handtowels (top, middle, and bottom) and it has made a huge difference. I’ll call it my Ulla wrap.  Cheers!

        • ulla

          I’m glad I could help :-)

What I love about the BodyRock concept is that Zuzana and Frederick are sporty, healthy, but they also love their family and their pets, they are open minded, and they travel extensively – always showing how inquisitive they are about the beauties of the world. They also added now on the website a “spiritual” path to BodyRock with Diana’s chronicle. Sometimes,  I noticed that some people think because you are sporty you are super compartmentalized in your life; that you are “obsessed with your weight”, that you have a limited social life because you don’t like to go out and eat, that you are not interested in cultural events, etcetcetc. I heard and read that many times and it always made me  wonder why on earth sporty people are seen like being obsessive and so narrow minded, just because they make their body move and fight the fat! Like if this meant they have no brains and no intelligence, and no friends. Fred and Zuzana are proving the exact opposite – and so do we bodyrockers. BodyRock RULES!!!

Finally! :) I was able to do my first workout at my new apartment! Today was my first day at my new job, and I enjoyed it very much! On my way home I bought a book :) and then I headed home to do my workout. But I have to admit that 8 days with NO WORKOUT made me very weak and sloppy, PLUS it is so hot here I can hardly breath, PLUS I have to admit that I was veeeeeeeeeeeeeery slacky with my diet last week and I still didn’t get really back on track. That is why I was so out of breath and I had to stop this after 3rd round. I feel so bad about it :( But at the same time I know I have to listen to my body and when it says STOP, I have to go like “No, you can handle few more minutes,” but when it says: SERIOUSLY, STOP, I have to stop or I might end up unable to move for a few days. That is what happened with my last 1000 Jumprope Highknees + 300 Squats on time, I was not able to move for 3 days straight. So I stopped today after round 3 with pretty good score, but my throat disagree… I know I am responsible for this, and I am gonna fix it. I was doing great and I was feeling like the most powerful person in the world when I was 100% on a paleo diet, so I am getting back there NOW. I am completely moved here, so all my stuff is here, I got a new oven so I am testing it, my fridge is full of veggies and meat, everything in my kitchen is paleo friendly, so I have no excuses now.
I will still post my half-done score, so you can see what bad food choices can do, haha.

    My score:
    1) Side Jump Lunge (bodyweight only) 19-19-15
    2) Pendulum (no ugi) 20-22-26
    3) Sandbag Clean 7-7-6
    4) Ballance Ball Squeeze 23-20-24

And I am done for today. :(

  • Anonymous

Short, sweet and awesome! My scores:

    side jump lunge w/bosu: 20-20-20-16-18-18
    Pendulum w/ bosu:  44-43-44-42-44-42
    SB Clean (13kg):  9-9-8-7-7-6
    Ugi Squeeze (no ugi):  37-38-35-34-31-36

for the last one i pushed my hands against the opposite knee.  it didn’t have the weight of the ugi, but i really felt it in my inner thighs.

    thanks for the workout!

what is this place you work out in?  It’s so pretty!  Is it a great room in an apartment building or is it at your workplace?  who works out where there is chandeliers?

Freddy, you’re friggin’ hilarious!!!  Sorry to hear you were sicky, hope you’re all better now!!

I started my day with a 5K run…it started to rain while I was on the trial and I absolutely luv’d it.  I know others feel down when it’s gloomy, raining and storming out but I actually feel the opposite. I LUV the rain and storms- it makes me happy…. and I think the overcast/rain is the BEST to run in, hate running in sunny hot weather- infact I refuse to!  I had a big ball of energy today, my ran went so well when normally I struggle every second just to get through it.  Perhaps my mind and energy was elsewhere…..with the BELAK family today :( When I heard the tragic news about Wade’s death yesterday,  I was beside myself.  And to hear reports all over the media that it was a possible suicide, leaves me dumbfounded!!!!!  I had the pleasure to meet Wade and his wife several times as I attended an Annual Charity Dinner for four consecutive years.  I could not sleep a wink last night thinking of Jen, his wife and their two daughters.  People who barely knew him can’t comprehend or wrap their heads around it, I CANNOT imagine how his wife is doing!!  My thoughts and prayers have not left them since I heard the tragic news.  So after my run, burpee for Erin and burpee for the BODYROCK Community, I did 3 extra Burpees for Jennifer, Andie & Alex.  I will continue to do 3 every day JUST for them!  My workouts will never be the same.  All my luv, strength and prayers go to the Belak Family- yesterday, today, tomorrow and always…..  R.I.P Wade!  xo  :(  ♥♥♥♥

    My results:
    Side Jump Lunge (w exercise ball)= 20/20/22/20/22/20
    Pendulum (w exercise ball)= 24/29/31/36/34/30
    SB Clean (25 lbs bag)= 7/6/7/5/5/6
    Ugi Squeeze (w 2 pillows)= 25/30/32/30/29/31

    Have a great day BodyRockers!

I’m so so sorry to hear about your GI upset.  Isn’t it the worst?  I hope you’re on the mend.  I loved this workout.  I had about the same reps as Z, except I got a lot higher on the pendulums (although that may be because I was just doing them on the floor).

Hey, I have a question for bodyrocking runners: do you guys ever want to do a race as a team?  I think it’d be super fun.  Minneapolis/St. Paul anyone?

    • KIMBERLAKE93

I wish I lived in the States, Charlie……I’d be up for that!  I just recently started running and I’m enjoying it more than I ever thought I would.  Good Luck with it….you should organize something!  :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Maybe I could have used a rest day today but it is just hard to resist a new workout that pops up!  Being familiar with all the moves I thought this would be pretty do-able but I was wrong, I was dyyyyying, esp with the Ugi squeezes, ouch.  Used 8lb Ugi and 20lb SB.

    Side Jump Lunge  17/16/15/14/13/13
    Pendulums 30/30/29/21/28/29
SB cleans (I had to do squats instead, don’t enjoy these with rocks in the SB!) 6/6/6/6/7/6
    Ugi Squeezes 14/10/11/15/11/15

Plus 10 all-I-got Burpees for Erin and family.

I’ll do a burpee for Freddy too…hope you are feeling better :)

Thank You! A 12 minute workout!

Just did this one after running around tidying the house, laundry etc.
Ran up and down the stairs 10x as my warm up and did a few stretches.

    1. Side Jump Lunge with 8lb. medicine ball: 18-18-19-18-18-17
    2. Pendulums with hands on medicine ball:  37-37-39-40-40-36
    3. Sandbag Cleans: 6-6-6-7-6-6
4.Ugi Squeezes (no Fit ball, used my hands as resistance): 22-27–32-28-31-29

4x 100 skips (10 second rest between intervals) Starting to be able to skip much faster and tripping less over the rope.

    Full body stretches.
    One burpee for Erin.

Freddy you poor thing – I’m pleased you’re feeling better now.  We just returned to the UK today from two weeks in Sharm el Sheikh during which time both myself and hubby had the most horrendous stomach/toilet problems mine resulting in needing the pharmacist!!  We had a fab time though but I missed Bodyrock so so much as we had the slowest internet which cost a fortune so it wasn’t worth trying – I’m having a Bodyrock fest this evening catching up with everything.  Managed to put in six workouts and swimming everyday so overall I’m pleased with my efforts but dying to do this one tomorrow.  Sx

That was a strange time distribution, we never had 10 sec rest – 20 sec workout breakdowns before, am I wrong? I’m not saying that I didn’t sweat like a horse, but I certainly wasn’t as dead by the end of the 12th minute as normally. …so I followed this up with an older workout, the Metabolic Inferno (http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/12/08/metabolic-inferno-workout/) These two were a great pair.
Anyway, my scores for the “Let it go” were:

    Side jump lunge: 20, 20, 22, 22, 22, 22
    Pendulum 41, 44, 42, 44, 45, 45
    Sandbag clean 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6
    Ugi squeeze 34, 36, 36, 38, 38, 38

    • Bohdanam

we did some 20 sec 10sec intervals before , just not that offten:)

    • Mary Lou

Nice numbers @facebook-732267114:disqus ! We’ve done 10/20 intervals before and I actually like them, it seems to make the workout ‘go faster’, if you know what I mean! Now I have to check out the Metabolic Inferno.

      • tee

they are my favourite intervals! the workout does seem faster this way!  I think these are like tabata training and supposed to be really good for fat loss.  zuzana doesn’t use them very often though. but I love it when she does! lol

    • Vivi

You’ll find this kind of interval, mostly in older workout (as “Hotel room”, “sexiest Abs”etc..).
As you for this one I didn’t sweat too much. So I did 2 others one after. Perhaps because I should have to add weight for the sandbag clean, but I don’t want to have to much thighs either !!
I don’t know the Metabolic inferno, i’m going to look at it, as I don’t know  which ones to do today.

    Hi Guys,

Freddy, for some reason I get the same effect from local water, just not to that extreme! :-)

But, if you think about it the pipes are old and bacteria grows inside and unless your exposed to it on a regular bases you’re not equipped with the adaptions that protect  you!

Probably you could now drink from it and have no effect, but I’m willing to bet you won’t!  :-)

    Take care,
    –Chris

  • tee

hi guys!  great workout, you weren’t kidding about cardio!  I used just bodyweight for side lunge and pendulums, 2 ten lb weights for cleans, and small stability ball for squeezes.

    side jump touch lunge – 23, 23, 24, 18, 20, 21
    pendulum – 38, 37, 32, 35, 36, 37
    20lb cleans – 3, 4.5, 3, 4, 4, 4
    ball squeeze – 24, 20, 23, 24, 25, 23

20 seconds is not much time for cleans! lol
I was really glad when the last round was on, I was really breathless!  took a 5 min walkaround to get air then did “somewhere I belong workout!”  which was definately a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.  trying to hold the knee for 5 seconds was really hard!  I managed 24.5 sets.  I wasn’t trying for speed but trying to concentrate on really good form,  which I didn’t do! but I tried too!  lol

glad you are feeling better freddy!

Today I did this workout late. About 8 o’clock . And now it’s 2 am and few minutes ago I was doing 10 reps for Erin :)…I’m not crazy I just wanted to do it :)

I am so excited I just have to share with the BodyRock community. Today, for the first time since I’ve been BodyRocking, I did the Ninja Jump Tucks as they are supposed to be done. No assitance, proper form, powerful movement. I can’t believe it, I was really worried I would always have to do the modified version because of how difficult, dare I say impossible, the exercise seemed to me. But today when I was doing the Hot Viral Sweat (needed a bodyweight only workout since at work on my lunch break) I set my mind that “today was the day I was going to do this without any modifications.” I had gradually improved by assistnce with first a chair, then one hand, then “mini ninja jumps” and so I toldy myself that today I was ready. I’m so thrilled that when I get home I’m going to do a few more just to ease any worries of it being a fluke ;-) Okay next to conquer: Unassisted One Leg Squats and Pull-Ups!

Zuzana and Freddy your Burpees Everywhere Tour is just wonderful. Thank you for sharing, and for everything else that you do. My little conquest today is all due to the amazing work that you do.

    • AudraG

It’s an awesome personal accomplishment those ninjas!

I swear Zuzana, you make things look so easy! I was still sore from the last workout… but I managed to complete it and let me tell you it was intense.

    Side Jump Lunge (w/o ball)
    17, 19, 18, 17, 19, 20

Pendulum (I used my first stair for elevation)
    30, 25, 25, 33, 27, 29

    Sandbag Clean (w/o sandbag)
    10, 10, 10, 8, 8, 10

    Ugi Squeeze (w/o ball)
    17, 16, 17, 18, 16, 20

I burned 184 calories with this workout!

  • Zouzou

Hey Anaho I lived 12 years in Geneva Eaux Vives!!! So many great memories there!! Hope you BodyRock for the whole city!!!

  • Zouzou

One of my favorites workouts ever. In love with it!

  • tee

    hi

I also had some knee issues when I first started, not severe but annoying!
I recommend not jumping too much or at all depending on your knee issue.  step it rather than jump.  slowly increase the intensity.  perhaps don’t do squats too low, and don’t add weight until you can do these exercises fully without aching or pain.  and sometimes slow and under control is better than fast!

  • tee

I agree, great results!  welcome another canadian!

  • Anonymous

So awesome workout – THANKS !!!! :) Side Jump Lunge (6kg bookbag): 17,18,18,17,19,18 Pendulum (hands on bookbag): 47,42,45,43,44,46 Sandbag Clean: 6,7,7,8,10,10 Ugi squeeze (6kg bookbag): 30,32,33,32,32,34

  • tee

you can do the burpee without the pushup!  It is the effort and the thought behind it rather than the form!

I couldn’t finish a lot of my first workouts and I work a physical job and have worked out most my life.  I also got frustrated but I found that if I just went a little slower and worked on the best form I could do, with the modifications that I needed. Eventually I got where I could finish the workouts and it is amazing how fast you can get stronger!

I kept doing them even if I only got through 5 min because of how I felt afterwards, whether that was exhausted, exhilerated, sore and stiff, or like I was going to die!  because I knew that meant it was working!  I had never done any activity for only 5 min and thought I would die before!

  • tee

    47!

The next day (yesterday) , he told me he was very sored! So now, my other roomate (also male, we are 6 here: 3 males and 3 females) who is even more sceptical might give it a try today. Can’t wait!

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! This one was quick, effective and wiped my a$$…or quads should I say? I am dripping in sweat right now….and I am happy to say I let EVERYTHING go in order to give my best to this workout. I had to modify the Sandbag clean and the Ugi sqeeze because I’m staying in a hotel with my girls back to school shopping. have fun shopping!  did mine today with my two teenage boys! made them try on all their clothes last night, they feel they have enough, they don’t want any more.  both needed new sneakers, one pair for PE and one pair to wear outside, cost $100.  then $15 for school supplies!  gotta love having boys!

  • Vivi

    Today I did
    1/ 300rep awesome routine workout
    2/ Beg for Mercy workout

Have a great weekend all BR ;D

  • AudraG

I finally got to this one.  I love the 20 seconds work because it’s just enough before you totally burn out the muscle and then beep!  Next exercise!  I rest too much in between with the 50 seconds.  I used my 10lb medicine ball, 40lb barbell and, a 12lb backpack for the squeezes.

    SideLungeJump:  17/20/22/22/21/21
    Pendulum:  39/38/40/38/40/40
    BarbellClean:  5/5/7/6/7/7
    BackpackSqueeze:  30/33/32/32/30/28
    + Healing burpees for Erin
Followed this up with weights on shoulders & abs :)  Thanks Zuzana!

  • http://www.facebook.com/ildiko.mazar Ildikó Sünci Mázár

Today I made up my own challenge. I did 4 rounds of the following routine:
    - 20 backward lunges with 8kg sandbag
    - 20 sandbag squats
    - 20 step up combos, aka stand on the right side of chair, step up with right foot sideways, pull left knee up (while stretching right leg) twice (stepping back down on the floor between the knee lifts), hop and switch feet on the top of the chair and step down on the left side of the chair – that’s one rep; repeat with other leg from left side to right
    - 15 knee raises on dip station
    - 100 UGI climbers
    - 15 sit ups with 8kg sandbag (arms stretched at all times: when laying horizontal, the sandbag’s touching the ground, when sat up, sandbag is lifted into the air over the head)
    - 10 dive bombers
It was a fun little sweater. My time for the 4 rounds was 28:38 today, but I didn’t hurry at all, I bet I could easily go below 25 min. Maybe one day.

    + 22 minutes skipping
    + 5 burpees for Erin

8 sleeps until my wedding – yay!

    Hi Guys,

I just wanted to take a second to thank you two for your commitment to bodyrocking and to your kindness to us fellow bodyrockers.  I haven’t been big on supplements, but because you two are using them and seem to have good results maybe I will try them as well.

    Take care,

PS  A tangent: I’m currently listening to LMFAO – Sexy and I Know It!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N30dQ-MU0Y seems to fit here… I quote: “I’m sexy and I know it…I work out…”  A great workout tune if you can stop laughing long enough to do one! :-)

Just finished!  I feel pumped up!  I did this one on 9/1/11, and I always make it a point to write down on my journal the highest rep for each exercise so I have something to beat in each interval.  And it really works–I beat all of them except the ugi squeeze, but that’s because I used to do micro squeezes, and now I do them a little larger–mini squeezes, like Z does them.  :)  I also notice that the second time I do a workout, especially one that I don’t find to be a toootal wipeout, I find it harder the second time.  I think that’s because the second time around I know my form better and know how to make it challenging and keep with it and not cop out!

10lb ugly ball, 35lb sandbag.  I also used a partially deflated soccer ball for the pendulums!  Made the balance more challenging. :)

    side jump lunge: 19-19-18-16-18-18
    pendulum: 42-42-39-33-39-39sb clean: 6-6-6-6-6-6
    ugi squeeze: 31-30-29-28-29-32

Have a wonderful evening (or day, morning, depending on where you are)!

I think it’s the first time I do it with my alternative to Ugi Ball so my scores are a little bit lower than previously.

    Side Jump Lunge: 24 – 25 – 26 – 27 – 26 – 27
    Pendulum: 40 – 40 – 40 – 39 – 39 – 39
