For The Haters Workout

Hi BodyRockers,

This is just a reminder not to let anything or anyone bring you down. No matter how focused you are on bringing about positive changes in yourself, it is almost a rite of passage to encounter those people who will dump on you or attempt in a variety of ways to ridicule you for making different choices that support your health goals and training. Don’t be discouraged – this is simply a test that everyone must pass to continue the training. Most often the biggest arseholes that we encounter in life can be our greatest teachers. They are there to test our mettle – to teach us compassion, to show us some strength inside of ourselves that we must access to pass their test and move forward in strength and with confidence. If people scoff at you or (sometimes even worse) make little jokes at your expense because you have chosen to train and not sit in front of the TV – please understand that it’s all just a test – keeping yourself centred and calm in the face of all these little slaps and provocations is teaching you a different kind of inner strength to match the new strength that you are bringing to your body.

Best,

Freddy & Zuzana

Instructions:

Watch the video above to see the exercise combo and easier variations for beginners.

This challenge is only 10 minutes long, but if you push yourself at your max. effort it will wipe you out. Trust me :) Set your Interval Timer to count down 10 minutes for you and your goal is to complete as many sets of the full body exercise combo as humanly possible. I used my purple ball for this challenge and completed 40 sets. You guys can try to beat my record ;)

Enjoy your training!

Zuzana.

Love you for these words of wisdom :-)
    Haters gonna hate.

    40 SETS??? That’s insane…. I will probably be managing 10 (if I’m lucky..)

Gonna try that one tomorrow, for today I chose “Hot Burn”.

  • Vivi

60 reps for me against the haters !!

  • GoustiFruit

60 ? T’es une vraie guedin ! Qu’est-ce que tu utilises pour remplacer la Ugi Ball ?

Trying that one in two hours…

  • Vivi

J’ai mis un bidon de 5L dans un sac à dos !! hahaha
C’est un sac pour ordinateur portable normalement et très rembourré ;)

  • Anonymous

60????? Are you kidding me? How can you be that fast? One rep will take me at least 20-30 seconds, I guess…

  • Vivi

I put my gymboss in stop watch to control, but no I’m good in my count as I do 1rep in 10s on average.

  • Anonymous

    Wow.

    Behind every hate there is
fear, fear that you might fall appart if you accept something or someone
    – it would mean that you are nod good enough, that your choices were
bad and therefore you are a bad person. Those who need hate to feel they
are ‘whole’, have very little space in their heart and are stuck in a
corner. And when they need to change, they fall deep, deep, deep and
fall appart completely. It must hurt to be hateful …

6 cans of cream of mushroom soup.

Stuffed into a big o’l backpack.

THAT’s my version of the Ugi ball. Ha!

Wow, I don’t think I have ever encountered someone who has negatively commented on me for working out. If anything it seems kind of stupid to, don’t you think? But then again, people lack common sense all the time, so no surprise. But funny thing is, I did got to thinking the last few days about people who harass runners and bikers on the roads. Have you ever heard of that? I have ran on the road before and so has my boyfriend, and both of us have been harassed on separate occasions. I have read online about other people who say they have as well, and how people would make fun of them, mock them, and pretend to hit them with their cars! So sad! I say, they’re all just jealous that we’re stronger than them, because they know if they stopped the cars and got out, we could do so much more damage than their words ever could :)

And to finish, I have two great quotes you reminded me of:

    “If
you can cultivate the right attitude, your enemies are your best
spiritual teachers because their presence provides you with the
opportunity to enhance and develop tolerance, patience and
    understanding.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV

“Pay no attention to what the critics say. A statue has never been erected in honor of a critic.” ~Jean Sibelius

    Ciao!~

  • DonnaChiotis

Great minds think alike;) I made up my own workout today and I used the side lunge twists also…

  • Anonymous

LOL I love it, what imagination! You must have had so much fun as a child ;-p

  • DonnaChiotis

I personally thank the haters because they keep me looking my best;)

Haters are just haters becuase it is easier to pick on your life than look at their own and realize it’s not what they thought it would be and they are unhappy but afraid of the change.

  • http://twitter.com/IttyBittyImpact Tonia

I did 34 1/2 in the 10 min. It was brutal! Great full-body workout. Time for a shower and then hitting the beach with my dog (probably the last beach-day here in Wisconsin…the weather is taking a turn for the cooler after this weekend!) Have a great day, everyone!

  • Vivi

    Yes I love this exercise.

  • GoustiFruit

5l, si c’est de l’eau, ça fait 5 kg, c’est énorme: la Ugi Ball de Zuzana fait 6 lbs soit 2,72 kg !

  • Anonymous

Yes the side lunge/twist made it into my workout. Spooky the bodyrockers are becoming one mind – Vivi I also used reptile and seated pullups today. I do love the Santana p/u too, maybe tomorrow.

I’ve been including a variation on a one legged squat. Because my balance isn’t great I allow a toe tap on the up move.
Put a weight in front of you. On one leg, bend your leg, keep your back straight, pickup the weight, i either use a 10 medicine ball or a 20 lb wt.
stand (toe of non-wt bearing leg touches for a toe tap then back up for the squat)
put the wt back down (I usually toe tap here too – but my non-st bearing leg is out almost as far as if I were doing a lunge – I’ve found this easier on my low back and it forces me to squat a bit lower),
stand without the wt. (toe of non-wt bearing leg down for a toe tap)
    That’s one rep.
repeat X’s 20 per leg for a big ouch but it really works your butt

I don’t normally comment on this sort of thing but I absolutely love the colour of your blue Nike exercise bra/top.

I know beginners might get a bit of flack from friends and family when they start exercising and changing their diet, but it’s just the change thing. People are used to you a certain way and they don’t want you to change because it may make them have to look at themselves.

As you maintain your path you’ll attract like people. The people who don’t want to change fall away – and that’s okay. You’ll find yourself surrounded by people who are like minded, who motivate and support you – like this wonderful collective of people on bodyrock.

I want people who support healthy me and give me a sideways look if I eat crappy food or do self defeating things, rather than the other way around.

On the rare occasion someone protests a decision I’ve made to better myself – school course, exercise, diet …I basically pretend I don’t understand the language they’re speaking and carry on. Never engage or defend – just look at them like “are you quite finished?” They really don’t want to hear your side they want you to hear theirs. I usually change the subject to something neutral. The more you engage and defend the more those people will poke and try to bug you.

I unfortunately have had people comment negatively on my fitness goals!  Felt their goal was to make me feel like I was over obsessed with it and I wasn’t normal for doing it!  I actually have lost (or drifted apart from) friends because of these goals!  Oh well! It is definitely a way of life and its my addiction!

  • Katie

There is this show on well for me it’s on Netflix.  Any way it’s called “Heavy”, and it’s about people who are very overweight and how they go through a program to lose it. I have posted about it before. It is great because it helps you see people, not just the weight. I know it is easy for people to just look at heavy people and say they are fat and nothing else.  My point is that after they go to a month of boot camp, they go home to try to continue to lose weight in their home environment and here’s the worst part.  The people in their life usually are pretty bad about helping them, they give them the worst food, they laugh at them, their own family and friends.  I guess people just see them the way they always have and can’t be comfortable seeing them in another way.  Anyway, this workout reminded me of their struggle.  I can’t imagine. If there are any people who are struggling to lose weight here, just remember that your fellow Bodyrockers are on your side.  We want to see you healthy, we love you.

First of all I don’t think it’s a good idea to run on the road due to safety reasons, unless there’s no sidewalk or something.   You should wear a  light behind if you do.   Bikes are different though they are suppose on the road.  I have been harassed many times, once I was biking with a room mate and the car ran him right off the road.  I just learn to ignore people who harass me.  I just get used to it and doesn’t bother me anymore.  I read somewhere people who are bothering you trying to get you down are actually below you and trying to pull you down on your level.  So, I guess since you’re above them why would you care what they have to do or say?
We should also look at ourselves, make sure that we don’t say that hurt others.  Maybe we unintentionally hurt others.  I don’t believe in “haters” or “trolls”.  I just think people are just lost and they just need the compassion that I should offer to them.   I dislike labeling people because in many ways it’s a form of attacking them.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

29 sets in 10 min with 8lb Ugi ball.  And I topped it off with one more, could not stand not to get to 30 when so close.  Great exercise challenge, Zuzana, thank you.   And thank you for your reminder to stay focused and strong in the face of those who would try to discourage you or in some way put you down.  I’m not on FB so I don’t know exactly what prompted this discussion, but I gather someone made a rude attack on you.  You are strong and vibrant and so loving and talented, and I really look up to you.  You have certainly helped me strive to make a decision to take good care of myself everyday and I am unapologetically dedicated to doing so!  Thank you!

    42. What a buurrrn !!!

I don’t know where your creativity comes from, where you get your inspiration, and how you manage to create those well balanced workouts and challenges but after soon one year of following you almost daily, I can’t get bored; each day I get the same excitement at discovering what you prepared for us, and the same thrill to actually do it. I just can’t get enough :o)

    Thanks.

Oh, and I’m gonna do my burpee for Erin now. Erin, we’re waiting for you.

Wow! you did 40 sets! I did not do this challenge, YET, but man… 40 sets? Yikes! Thank you for the inspiring note on haters, because they are out there. Sometimes, it’s the people close to you that might be the biggest obstacle in your quest to health, because they are so used to how you were, that changes can destabilize them a bit. As many out here I look up to you, and I just LOVE to bodyrock. You have no idea how much you influenced my life! THANK YOU!

I managed 35 with a bosu ball.  I can’t believe how fast that 10 minutes went.  I thought for sure I could get to 40, but then all of a sudden..beep, beep, beep!  I actually had to check to make sure I had set my timer properly.

    Great workout, thank you!

Some of the Facebook comments are so rude and vulgar. This community is so positive and supportive. I don’t understand why people even bother looking at BodyRock Facebook page if they aren’t there to keep in touch and get the workouts. Just my 2 cents.

  • tee

burpee for erin after and burpee for zuri.   then tried to do you as a machines workout after, made it through round 4 in 13min 15 sec.  then burpee for erin and zuri again!

  • http://www.facebook.com/allyxchan Ally Valdes

Very true, i totally agree. I actually don’t run on the physical road, I run on the side-walk. Maybe I should have detailed that in there. And yeah, I still have gotten nasty comments :S But I especially like when you said that we need to look at ourselves too. I know that sometimes I can say things to people that are nasty and mean and I don’t necessarily mean it, it may have slipped or came out in unbridled anger, and I’m not the only one who does that. Most of us do, and if we look into ourselves and see that our hatred and anger towards others is nothing but petty and unnecessary (and even harmful to our souls health), then perhaps a lot of this “hating” can stop :)

Great numbers people! I didn’t use a ball but touched the ceiling on the jumps and managed 35.5. I bought a cheap-o 8 lb ball today for the next go round though.

Aw, sorry people were being mean. :( Anyway, I completed 32 sets, bodyweight only. My first workout after some foot problems (I still had to jump back into plank landing on one set of toes only), but nice to work up a sweat again. Plus a (one-legged) burpee for Erin!

To the posters below this you guys really have some creative ways in using almost the same equipment as Zuzana! That’s awesome! I might have to try some of those!

Anyway I did this workout with just my bodyweight and that was intense enough. In 10 minutes I completed 29.5 sets. Not as good as Zu, but I’ll get there eventually.

    You’re hilarious!
But seriously, there is something we need to talk about…These short workouts are meant to be very intense and short for a reason.  There is a tendency to become addicted to HIIT and want to do more in one session than is required for the purpose.  The purpose is to become strong, agile, increase aerobic capacity and build power.  Keep it short and sweet and we will achieve these things.  Go beyond and we negate what we set out to do. Overuse injuries start to creep in slowly and we will be no further ahead.  Sure we may look more buff, but that is superficial and that will soon fade along with the inability to workout.I’ve been there, this happened to me too in the beginning…the high I got from my short HIIT workouts pumped me up so much that I wanted to do another workout right then and there.  I felt so powerful and fired up.  It is really important to identify this in ourselves and remember that these workouts are not meant to be endurance training.

  • tee

    thanks You!

Today your workout was on my schedule, I knew it would be very physical and demanding for me.  It was the only one planned for today.  but zuzana posted this one, so I did it first, gave it my all, was very wiped but as I still have a lot of weight to loose went ahead and decided to see how far I could go with yours.  burpees after burpees was not the best idea! lol  I did drop the push up!  normally I try to do one more aerobic so I can burn more fat.

Don’t worry, I am very concious of good form, been working out for 30 years already,  I also do a physical job, so I know about overuse injuries!

I’ve been trying to do two workouts per day to lose weight only, for the last month, as I have got my diet as good as I can personally handle.  I also skip for 5 min before and after.  Wouldn’t mind doing more of that but it makes my knees ache.

back in january/february I lost 8 pounds doing just one workout about 4 days a week,  then the fat loss stopped.  I was still doing one workout, tried to hit almost everyday, tried to fix my diet,  nothing worked, no more fat loss! so now I’m trying to do two/day to get the fat off.  I am a lot stronger, and I feel great, but can’t budge the fat.  If you have any ideas to how to burn the fat off rather than doing two of these workouts/day I would love to hear. by the looks of your picture, you know how to burn fat

I am only 5 ft 1 inch and weigh 159. I’ve been trying for 30 years to loose weight and all I’ve managed is to get heavier!  would love to hear suggestions as I cannot eat like zuzana, but I can workout!

    thanks for caring!

  • Isi

Hello Zuzana, great comment. It was just the right time to get some motivation and supporting words from you.I am in Sardinia right now with my boyfriend and my brother’s family and especially the family of my brother is trying to bringing me down. But with your heling words I will resist and hold on to my goals!!!!:-)))))))thxs

  • Zouzou

Zuzana’s comment works also for any other field you try to succeed in, in life. Some people seem to spend their time trying to discourage others and disagree with their attempts in life. But what is life, other than trying and trying? I faced a lot of those negative thinkers who constantly see the dark side of things and in the end do nothing by fear of failing or lack of faith. They keep “thinking” and never DO anything, because they constantly destroy every attempt to achieve something. Too much theory is not good. if you don’t try you will never know if it can work. BODYROCK your WHOLE LIFE!

  • Zouzou

Negative people are usually so jealous and small minded and have nothing better to do in life but try to bother others, put down their efforts and be destructive. I agree that the Bodyrockers here on the BodyRock site seem to be just like a wonderful flux of positive energy and perseverance. I always read some comments before to do a workout. It kind of multiplies my motivation by a hundred!!!

  • Zouzou

I just looked at the video of BodyRocker Tonia. I really liked it. A very nice looking young woman sharing her efforts and workout with us all. Great musics and nice little effects by sometimes modifying the speed of the movements, which makes it even nicer. Tonia I love how you do your hair!

  • DonnaChiotis

    Me too !!!

For me a very tiring 44:)

My mom is my main hater when it comes to working out. Everyone else in my life accepts it as a “quirk” (because being healthy and full of life and energy is a “quirk”) but she makes snide remarks about me being too skinny (I’m not) or working out as hard as I do. I try to get her to understand that working out makes me feel completely present in my body. I feel as if it’s the only thing in life that I can control- how many reps I can do, how much weight I lift, and how much I sweat. When it all boils down, no matter who is making the comments, it is nothing but jealousy. So I tune my mom and anyone else who has a problem with my lifestyle out and keep on rocking.
I took a break for a week because I was losing my motivation to work out. (A great lesson on listening to your body when it’s telling you to slow down. I needed to slow down for a minute and remember why I started working out in the first place.) I was just kind of going through the motions. Now I’m back! I did 41 sets… and that’s because I only had enough in me to complete just one more and beat you Zuzana. That freakin killed me.;)

  • NU-nu Nour

hi bodyrockrs,, speaking of not to let any thing put you down…i need some advice please.
i am 7 weeks pregnant with my third child,, my nausea is killing me :(
before the pregnancy i used to eat healthy and enjoyed my vegetables, green tea and all my healthy food. now i CAN’T stand them. it seems i can’t stand any food but salty and sour food and ice creams :( which of course not healthy at all. this is REALLY putting me down. i wasn’t that extreme with my nausea with my last 2 pregnancies!!
that, and as for working out,, i don’t have that energy, getting tired fast and being lazy and down because of my eatings :(  although i was and still very committed with bodyrocking..
so please bodyrockers especially moms who are expecting,, any advise??

sorry, i meant the score was ok–the workout was awesome!

    Hey Nu-nu

Give yourself a break girl. Hormones of pregnancy are very strong. Sadly nausea is a good sign, means good hcg levels and so good placental implantation.

During this time if your body doesn’t want what you previously liked – don’t eat it, don’t shame yourself, eat what you can. Look for salty foods that might be more on the healthy side.

At 7 to 12 weeks you are totally entitled to cravings. I worked with a woman who ate Fruitloop cereal and Kielbasa sandwiches with her second. And I’ve seen people who were really particular about diet just go crazy for surprising junk in the first trimester. Many women get turned off their coffee, tea or colas naturally, they just can’t tolerate them during pregnancy. Probably not a bad thing.

You’re growing a very complex structure, you’re increasing your blood volume, your body is being inundated with hormones. And you have two other children! Of course you’re tired!
On days when you have a bit more oomph, do some exercises; on days when you’re tired, rest and do what your body is asking and rest. It’s doing something very important. It’s not permanent, you’ll feel much better toward week 11/12 – promise

Yeah the 10 min flew by and I too thought I’d reach 40 easy but only 37 before I heard the beepbeepbeep.
    Now I gotta beat myself!

Exactly, Don’t bring yourself down because you can’t follow a strict diet while your pregnant. Just listen to your body and think about what is best for your child. Think of how much more committed you will be after your pregnancy :)

  • Samanthina

Hi everyone,at  today’s afternoon i did 37 sets for this challenge + a burpee for Erin ,this was hard.Thank you Zuzana and Freddy:)

  • Cindy

I used my basketball for this challenge, so I only managed to do 35 sets. I will try another time to beat this score. This is a wonderful total body exercise. Zuzana has the expertise to combine different moves in a a single exercise.
    Thanks!

I don’t waste any time on the ‘haters’ its usually due to some flaw in their personality, envy or something thats missing from their life.  Quite sad really.  Right my other half and I did this straight after the ‘Sexy Butt Buster’ workout so I wasn’t expecting a fabulous score as at one point I felt seriously pukey but I managed 35 reps.

I love the design and 60′s inspired decor in your new place its fab!  I’ve a Corbusier sofa and some Verner Panton chairs in my kitchen (copies obviously). Its lush!  Sx

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Its been a great weekend of working out.  Yesterday after I did this challenge (29 with Ugi) I also did Super Bass Booty Workout and improved on nearly all my reps, so I was stoked.  Today I did the On the Floor Abs Challenge (only 5 sets, same as last time I did it) and then I followed it with this For the Haters workout again, this time without my Ugi ball.  I only got 25 done…my little beagle/terrier Katie came in and started cocking her head at me after I had done about 10, and upon totally cracking up laughing I had to start over, so I was getting low on zip….but I’ve had fun and I feel refreshed and strong going into my week.  I hope you all do too! – Bonnie

Well I know in the past I upset a few family member it wasn’t mean really but negative in nature.  They took big offense about it when I was try to stop harm consuming it.  But I realized that even mentioning negativity isn’t good.  I’m still working on myself.
I no longer debate because most people get too upset.  I feel much better, less stress.  I try to avoid negativity especially when reading the news.  It’s an ongoing thing but slowly I’m making progress.
Here is a long video if you’re interested it shows how our mind can change your body.  It claims that water has memory.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that haters only hate because they hate themselves. Small inured people who feel inadequate and unloved lash out against others in an attempt to soothe themselves. When you view them in this way it takes any and all power out of their words. Poor souls. They don’t know they have all the love they could ever want within their grasp – right inside of them in fact. But we’re all here to walk our own journey.

I don’t experience people mocking my fitness or nutrition choices any more, but if any of you do, just know it’s because you making a positive choice in your life has shone a spotlight on the fact that they haven’t in theirs – and from a deep deep place within them, they know they should. It makes them feel guilty, shameful and small. Don’t try to convince them, and don’t worry about it. Just smile and carry on. I’ve found the less attention you give that type of energy, the less it wants to be around you.

Zuzana – just keep shining your beautiful light – don’t even give the ‘Haters’ another drop of your precious energy. Besides, you’ve managed to attract so many ‘Lovers’ to this community, the others are barely a blip on the radar!

With G*R*E*A*T love and appreciation for what you do,

    Dheana

There’s probably more positive and support comments that negative ones.  Do you get sad on rainy days and happy on sunny days?  Your happiness depends on you not other people or conditions.  In life there’s always positive and negative.

Doesn’t matter, if you’re not doing what the majority of people are doing you are considered nuts or weird.  Even raw foods who eat healthy are looked like they are strange people and people resist.  But  eventually when they see the results and they have problem they will come to you.  Sometimes people just need to hit rock bottom or close to it.

Isn’t pregnancy odd?  I swear how you feel and what you crave comes straight from the baby.  all three of my pregnancies were different.  my first – I wasn’t nauseaus hardly at all, but starving! I could eat anything & I was hungry all the time, and craved salty.  & I hate salty food!  I ate pringles chips, saltiest thing I could find (pickles & celery would have been better!)  my oldest child never stops eating, he ate us out of house and home, likes almost everything, and his favourite food is salt & vinegar chips!

my second child – I was a bit nauseaus, but not hungry at all!  I had to force myself to eat, nothing appealed to me.  I had trouble gaining the weight.  that child doesn’t eat anything!  he doesn’t like anything.  I swear he would like it better if he never had to eat.

my third child, I couldn’t get anything down.  I was so nauseas,  sweet food was all I could eat that didn’t make me want to throw up. & I was exhausted!  I ate way too many sweets – like pop tarts!  I didn’t eat much but what I ate was bad!   he is also quite picky and only wants to eat sweet food and he doesn’t like to do anything active!

I would try finding healthier things that are salty & sour and try eating them, such as celery and various types of pickles, and for the ice creams try to figure out what it is that you want, is it the coolness, or the creaminess,  and try substituting that,  like maybe homemade frozen yogurt pops or fruit ices, maybe its the fat you want, you could use coconut oil instead.  maybe you could make your own homemade ice cream.  If all that fails, then go ahead and eat what you’re craving, just enough to satisfy! and keep trying to et healthy.  as for exercise, maybe you need to rest and maybe just try to walk, when your energy comes back, do more then!

  • Felisha

How appropriate that this is my 100th Bodyrock workout! I’m down over 30lbs and so much stronger since I first found your site. Thank you so much for everything you do and all the information and inspiration you provide! I’ve had to deal with haters in my own pursuit to be healthy, but I know they just wish they had my dedication so that they could change their own lives!

    hey!
did drag me to hell workout.  followed with burpee for erin and burpee for zuri
then did abs & cardio workout followed with another burpee for erin and burpee for zuri!

I did 49 reps. It was only 10min, but in the end I was out of breath. I love this workouts!
I don’t have anyone that bring me down because I do exercise everyday. Actually my boyfriend and my family kind of supports me..but they don’t do exercise. I try to show them that they need it, but only my sister is now bodyrocking with me =)

For the haters…this one goes out to the people who give me the “too muscular for a girl” comment…i dont wanna be a stereotypical helpless little girl, sorry if i make you feel less manly doing more pushups than you :)

    41 sets!

i don’t have children but i do notice that when i feel sick/nauseous, i don’t feel like eating veggies either. i mostly just want carbs, comfort food, salty, sometimes fatty like lots of melted cheeses. what has helped me when i feel like this is that i’ll make a protein smoothie with unflavoured soy isolate powder. mine is 60 calories more than Zuzana’s. then i add whatever frozen fruit i want, lots of spinach, soy milk (vanilla if you want sweeter), then add whatever juice you like and sprinkle with cinnamon and put it in the blender.
maybe try some prenatal yoga to help stay in shape.
    hope this helps.

Haters will always remain haters cause they know they cannot achieve what most of us have achieved doing these workouts.

Tried out the haters workout managed to do 30 reps after a 45 min heavy chest workout, so i was happy with the result after 2 months of following bodyrock my body fat % down by 4% lost 8lbs and feeling better than ever.

  • Vivi

Yesterday I was really angry !!!
Not about you of course zuzana & Freddy ;)
You talked about haters, and you know what???, even me I had a message on FB about you, of course not a friendly message !!!
But what is the problem of these persons !!! To  keep rehearsing always the past, it’s really irritating. Why when someone became popular, some people need to  look for the slightest fault !
These people can’t accept the success  of the others, and they always need to make dirty vulgarly, free of charge.

Me, what interests me TODAY, is BODYROCK.tv, and the Zuzana’s workout, Zuzana’s advice.
What is healthier than all these resentful words !!!!

Thanks to Zuzana & Freddy we learn all to love our body more & more every days and learn to eat healthier.
    I don’t want in what that’s disturbing !

I love Bodyrocker’s community, where here there is  some listening, the sharing, the tolerance and the sportsmanship.
    <3 <3 <3 Much love to all Bodyrockers <3 <3<3

  • Vivi

Otherwise to return to what interests us here, I did 2 workouts these morning which were :
1/ Hotel room Workout (lot of push up !!!)
    2/ Sexiest abs workout
I changed the intervals instead of 24 round of 10x20s I did 12 round of 10x50s ;) Much challenging I find!
And after trainig of rows & abs and burpee for Erin !!!!

  • Anonymous

Still just traveling :) We should do hotel tours instead :)

Hi – there is always a bit of a delay for moderation – and it’s been a bit longer than usual because we have been traveling – but don’t worry we always post your comments!

  • Anonymous

we will still have all of the old routines :) it will just be easier to find them.

  • Anonymous

Hi there – we are making sure to include as many variations for beginners and bodyweight only variations in each of the video tutorials – there is always a way :)

  • Anonymous

Hi – we are working on some of the final details now. Keep your fingers crossed that it’s only a few weeks away :)

  • Sue

19 reps and with no ball. I am so slow! Feeling good now though and each day we get fitter and faster. Those forward jumps are the killer for me so I stepped up from the plank after the first 5.

We love you Zuzana. Haters will gather wherever someone is being successful and popular, especially if you are a woman.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Good Morning All!  Kicked off the day with Booty Meets Abs.  Will post there.  Have a great day :)

  • Monstrosity5

    Dang! 39 sets w/12# ball – next time (I was aiming for 45+) – then I did the side burpee challenge – 5:45 60 reps – whoohoo!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Maria-Davleeva/100001702041662 Мария Давлеева

I did this challenge without any equipment & completed 39 sets.

As for the haters I guess they are just jealous & weak.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Latifah.Nadiyah Nadiyah Abdul

32….whoa mama on those jump squats!

  • AudraG

Welcome Kelly!  It sounds like your fed up with your current situation and your ready for change.  You definately came to the right place!  Now that your motivated, start out with any workout or the current workout and choose beginner variations with no extra weight.  Also, give your body a day or two rest in between as it will be sore afterwards.  Don’t let that discourage you as well as it means it needs time to repair and build muscle for the next workout.  As you develop muscle memory you’ll get stronger and faster and want to add weight within time.  Be patient with your results as everyone is different.  There is a lot of positive support here and it sounds like your gf is someone who can help support you along the way as well which is great!  A clean diet is also key on how fast of results you will have as well.  Stick with Bodyrock and I’m sure you’ll have a fab body on your 30th! :)  Bodyrock is so much fun that your gonna get hooked!   =D

Unfortunately even the ones closest to me have in the past tried to put me down, my mom being one of them. I don’t really care because while she moans and complains everyday about how she needs to lose x and y amount of weight, I’m the one that’s actually making the effort to do it and it’s really really hard to make the right choices when your own family isn’t even being supportive.

  • http://www.makavelina.webnode.cz Nina_CZ

Wow, found out another great things:
    a) wrong food really makes you tired and weak
    b) not working out for a whole makes you tired and weak
    c) floor in my new living room is VERY SLIPPERY! I might try kitchen next time :D I tried the spiting tip from the old video (yes, I bought new Nike shoes on Friday and this was my first time using them, VERY SLIPPERY :D) and it only worked a little, I was slipping back while doing most of the exercises and while Side Lunging I almost crashed on the floor a few times :D Not a great score today, I feel like I am starting after long break, but it was only about 10 days of real slacking (slacking of both diet and exercising), and I can feel that I lost a lot of strenght, power and endurance… I still didn’t make my Ugly :) so I did it without it.

    1) Twist and Pop (without Ugi, just pretending) 6-5-5
    2) Reverse Pushup 9-8-9
    3) Side Lunge + Twist with Sandbag R 7-6-6
    4) Side Lunge + Twist R 8-7-7
    5) Plank Jack (no Ugi) 20-23-23

Time Challenge part – regular pushups + regular jumplunges
    5 minutes – 5 sets + 3 pushups

I always say that haters are just jealous people with no interests, so they are spending all of their free time on hating others. If you hate somebody so much, WHY do you even bother commenting on them? These people need to get a life. But usually they are not capable of anything themselves (that is mean, but true), so they focus their interest on somebody who can do A LOT :) And also I think haters can actually make fan community stronger :) so let them live, they make us more united :)))

  • Backtomobay

Not really sure how to take your comment — are you being sarcastic towards me?  Yes, there certainly is positive and negative EVERYWHERE you go.

  • AudraG

This was a great total body routine Zuzana, thank you!  It also was a thigh burner, ouch!  However, I did this body weight only and I can’t imagine doing this with extra weight lol!  Kudos to you and Bodyrocker’s for completing this with extra weight :)

     I completed 43 sets =D
    + healing burpees for Erin!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Kelly, if I could jump through this computer and give you a big hug I really
would.  I know you feel all up and down
at the same time, but I tell you what, you are in the right place and among
friends here.  I have been BR’ing just
since early July after years of working out and not feeling like I was making
the progress I wanted, and feeling affected in many of the ways that you
have.  Now almost three months later I
feel like I’ve made leaps and bounds both inside and out.  There is a whole lot more to this BodyRocking
that just working out and changing your body…it changes your whole life if you
open yourself up to it.  For me it has
brought me so much more in tune with my body and my mind and spirit because I’m
the one pushing myself and setting my goals higher – it’s just me and my
Gymboss interval timer…I’m not just watching a workout video and following
along.  Its pure focus.  And its fun.
Participating in the BodyRock community has also been hugely
inspirational and is amazing, so keep tapping into the energy here.  I recommend you order yourself a gymboss timer
if you can (they are a great deal at $20!) and a notebook to keep track of your
workouts.  When you find a few favorite
workouts, keep coming back to them and build some confidence and strength as
you begin to watch your reps get better and better.  I have a Word document that I created to fill
in the workouts I do every week in addition to my workout notebook, but I don’t
know how to attach that in this comment section.  But I can get it to you if you are
interested, or maybe your friend has a good tracking system she follows to
share with you.  On that note, boy you
are lucky to have her!  So nice to have a
good friend right there for guidance and support!

  • Sofi

WOW This post was made for me! Hahaha i have 7 weeks alcohol and cigar- free and people keep pushing me to drink… As weeks pass by, I want less and less to drink and they all look at me like I’m some sort of freak because I don’t do it as everyone else. It is annoying me a lot, but that doesn’t make me wanna drink, on the contrary, I like to keep it this way.. Thanks guys! I found the support that I need in your website :) love you!!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

from my last comment I can see that cutting and pasting text doesn’t work so good,  it looks like I was trying to write a poem with my text all over the place, ha :)

  • Christine Bastien

Finally did it! I did 34 reps, but after the 21st one, I stopped using the 6 lbs ball. I find it puts a lot of stress on my wrists when my hands are on a soft surface for push ups, planks, … THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

  • Christine Bastien

you’re not slow! you’re focusing on form ;)

  • Marta

.. Hello! I am one of those people that Zuzana describes as ”complete beguinners” X_D. After a long time lurking on the site, today I gathered the courage to start bodyrocking myself… well, as predicted, this has been a catastrophe, and I barely could complete 2 series of the 5 that were supposed to be done in the workout T_T. But… well, I guess one can’t give up so easily, isn’t it?  I’ve been a lot, lot of time doing nothing but being in a chair, and I feel so far from my own physique that I am almost ”disembodied”; to be so close to myself and feel that strange pain in my long time unused muscles has been really an interesting experience! Thank you everyone for giving me the motivation, of course to Zuzana and Fred for their amazing dedication, and, I promise, I will keep going. One can’t give up just with one try, can we?

This is going to be a long, long path…

    Hugs from Ireland!

Ok Tee, I’ve got a some info for you.  I just published a little blog post (which could probably use more editing…however) which may or may not be helpful to you, but within the post I’ve included a link to an article which I think is fantastic, by Tom Venuto.
Let me know what you think.  I’m thankful you took my comment as caring, because I Do.  I can feel the frustration from those working SO HARD, who put so much effort in but are just left without results.  Time for change.  Read Tom’s article, in fact read it many times until it really sinks in…because there is a flip side.
Here’s the link to my post. http://bit.ly/nscIB8

wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted here! I haven’t been totally slacking…I’ve been training for a race in October. I’ve missed you guys, though, so I tried this one today. Once again, you’ve made this look deceptively easy, zuzanna!
    5 minutes interval skipping
    workout (32 reps)
    5 minutes interval skipping
    5 minutes boxing
I was a puddle of sweat after this. Thank you!

Awesome muscles, obviously, with 41 sets.  Inspiring.

vivi, i think you made a typing mistake, 60?  :)  wow, very good!!

I think that no one is perfect, and sometimes we make decisions in the heat of the moment (or in the middle of a hangover)  that at the time we may feel we are going to feel that way forever, but at a later time we may just want a treat once in a while.  and I think this may be what happened.

It’s like if you decided to not eat sugar for a whole month, and then you cheat!  no one’s perfect and you just decide whether you are going to feel bad, eat enough to make yourself sick, or just going to enjoy that one piece and move on again!

at least their not hiding it!  I don’t think it is that big a deal!  It’s still their life and we enjoy when they share!

  • tee

I used to date a guy who couldn’t do squats without going on his toes, he used to put a thin board under his heels.  do you walk around on your tiptoes?  If so it probably is your calf muscles are too tight. the ones on the back of your legs.  you could try stretching them often.  stand on a stair and try to lower your heels below the level of the stair with just your toes on the stair.  also put a towel around your toes and pull your toes toward you.

  • tee

never thought of it that way! ha ha

  • Vivi

In waiting for the new one I did 2 old workouts :

    1/ 300 reps of brutality (I didn’t beat my time Grrrrrr !)

After been one week sig in bed, I feel better today and try to do this short workout.

I did 38 sets in 10 min – happy with that, cos I feel little weak still. :)

  • heliise16

My mom was pushing me through it, so I completed 42 sets and won Zuzana! Without the ball, though…
With completing a challenge of 10 minutes I was unable to do a thing for another 10 minutes – guess my “lower stomack” didn’t like me pushing so hard, so I got such a bad pain…
    Still so happy! :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Glad to hear you are feeling better, I was just down with a cold last week and this is the workout I returned to as well.  I got up to 29 with my Ugi ball and then 28 the next day with no added weight…(tired from the day before!) so way to go Hanna!

    Hi Nina,
Put tape on the soles of your shoes, like medical tape for band-aids. That helps. I too got myself some Nike shoes, but I am not impressed at all, they feel so rigid and slippery and make so much noise. I am still wearing my old Asics, much better, and when I jump it actually cushions my foot a little, unlike Nike.

  • KIMBERLAKE93

Can anyone give input on how to count DOWN on the interval timer?  If it’s to count down 10 minutes, I usually do 10 rounds of 10 and 50 seconds….cause I don’t know how to set it to count down.  Anyone….anyone….????

  • Anonymous

you just make one interval of 10 minutes…when you pres change, then next, then change again..you have only one interval…10 minutes…help?

  • KIMBERLAKE93

Wow, you toats have to PUSH yourself in this one…..at about 8 I was like, “seriously???….she did 40!???” LOL.  It’s tough and I had to stop for a small water break but in 10 minutes, I completed 37 sets!

Oh and I also did my 5K run today and 10 Burpees (5 for yesterday and 5 for today).  Thinking of Erin and the Belak family lots!

    Have a great day BodyRockers!!
Thanks Zuzana and Freddy for all that you do!  :)

you could also set it to do 10 rounds of one minute or 5 rounds and two intervals of one minute each and then it would beep every minute giving you a pace.  then you would have known that you needed to do 4 per minute to keep up with zuzana!

    Hey Marta,

Just wanted to say “Congratulations!” for starting on your path to fitness. I don’t know you, but from all the way across the pond, I can honestly tell you, I’m proud of you!

Those first few steps are the hardest. Don’t be discouraged, don’t compare yourself to others. Just be proud that you’re trying and know that you WILL get stronger, day by day, workout by workout. This is just the beginning my friend. Your body WILL respond. Just be gentle and kind to yourself. Feed yourself lots of praise and positivity. Know you’re on the right path – and before you know it, you’ll start to feel the evidence. Soon after, you’ll see it smiling back in the mirror at you.

The path is only long because it’s never-ending. No matter where you are, you can always get stronger. So don’t feel bad about being a “complete beginner”, be proud and happy that you’ve joined the ranks. You’re now a BodyRocker Marta – and your life will never be the same!

Hugs – and *High Fives* from Canada!

so i been away for awhile, and lurking at bodybuilding.com, trying to mix things up a bit. what i love about body rock besides zuzana, freddy and this tight community, is the intense short workouts, which are awesome compared to the longer lifting sessions i been doing at the gym for the past 2 months. anyway this was the first bodyrock vid i have done in a while, and omg it destroyed me. i couldnt believe how gone i was at 10 reps. I felt kinda bad i only managed to do 27. This made me realize that these workouts really use your whole body, they are more real life movements than lifting weights can be. Anyways it was an awesome workout, and i hope to incorporate more of these workouts, if im not so sore from lifting heavy.

  • Nicole Tmy

for some reason i thought you (aka Zunana) managed to do 70 sets and i was like DAMN how the hell did she do that….so after 10 mins had passed which i managed to only do 30 sets i decided to match your score somehow and decided to do 23 more and managed to do 53 in total. oh well i tricked my body to only do further good :D

  • Vivi

No new one???? Me impatient??Nooooooooooooooooo :p
So I did 2 others workouts.
1/ Bikini Beach (to beat my PB)
2/ Let it go ( but with modification : rows instead of clean sandbag & I added pick ups at the end, so 30 rounds of 10x20s)

    Very good sweat.

Zuzana & Freddy where are you with your project of Bodyrock’s clothes???? We go to winter…it will be most difficult to exiber with, so think perhaps to a sweat now !! hahaha :p

  • http://www.youasamachine.com You As A Machine

wonder where in the world you guys are right now…on your way back to LA?
Will look through my journal and decide on a workout for today…

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Nicole, this made me really laugh…good for you girl, you rocked it (extra!)

  • sakurambo

i notice negative comments about my need to work out! but a lot of positive too.
sometimes I think that the people who comment negativ… are the once who are not ready to see me change. i am ready !!!….  … i started bodyrock around x – mess last year .. im not totally fanathic because i prefer to make sure  that i will do this till im a grandmother…. during the colt months i trained with zuzana every time she was on, and made my neighbours wonder about the jump-robe noise in middel of the night… when the sun started to change i could not resist to go out. so i started to run.. first shorter distances .. then more and more…. i got addicted… im now in a running group and enjoy doing it 4-5 times a week 6-10km. today i started to combine zuzana with running …
my eating habits didnt change much… i inclluded salad for lunch.. and try to watch out for sweets… so i can progress quit much still.

okay now the big thing !!! i lost 15 kg in 8.5 months….
without feeling to be crazy sporty or hungry just by running and bodyrock…
i still would like to loose 5 kg.. but no pressure… im just going on and on…
i actually dont own a scale which is a good thing! so its always positiv news!!!

and the new mee feels soooo goood!

so i did 33 reps in 10 min today after 6k running on the beach.

    Hi Vivi,

Better not be impatient!  It’s something Zuzana does not like in people.

I’m sure they are just very busy.  Maybe the dogs needed them so they dropped everything to go back to LA.  I do worry that they have been away from them long enough that things could go wrong.

If there was a forum or something like that I would post this there…

This is an interesting image and good reinforcement of the “rules”…Darryn Lyons appeared in Celebrity Big Brother UK sporting a surgically-enhanced six-pack.

    hi guys!

decided to try another skipping workout again today!  this new rope is so hard to skip with.  I have a plastic one but it was making scuff marks on my floor so I bought one that is rope, but it is so light that I end up tripping on it all the time!  aaaah!  oh well!  I did two min skip and then 15 ugi ab exercise repeating until 10 min skipping was up!  busy today, not much time!
Burpee for erin, zuri, and anyone else needing the vibes!

hope you guys come back soon!

Today i did ”Six pack & love handles workout – this weeks theme” http://www.bodyrock.tv/2010/01/21/six-pack-and-love-handles-this-weeks-theme/ i did it like a year ago but sadly dont have my score :(. Today i finished it all in 27:53 min,
I did high knees with jump rope instead of jumping with feet together with the rope after the second round, that could be a reason why it took me so long.  nuff of excuses! cya

  • Vivi

    It was a joke…
I know that they can be busy. I like the old workout too. No problem for me
It’s just when they say to us that a new one is on the way, of course my curiosity wake up !!!

My husband always makes me feel bad when I work out because he says I am making him feel guilty because he isnt working out, I always try and rush my workouts so we can spend time together.  Doesnt help that he works away a lot and I feel guilty that I still need me time when he is home.  Oh well, at least I get to enjoy my workouts when he is away :-)
I did only 25 of these in 10 minutes, really shouldnt have went on the exercise bike first, my legs felt like jelly before I started, those jump squats were a killer.

I just got my new gymboss timer…might be a silly question..does anyone know how to get the timer to set the rest periods?

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Emily, I can relate to your situation.  My husband has a job with very erratic hours and when he is home I really try to catch good time with him..sometimes this derails my morning workouts and he doesn’t always understand when I make time after work to do my workout.  I feel like we have gotten better at finding balance of time together and me-time for each of us.  He does not work out, so he doesn’t fully understand how good working out makes me feel.  One day he found two workouts I was planning to do written down by the computer (Grab Your Balls Workout and Beat the Meat Suit Workout) and he asked me “what the #*!! kind of workouts are you doing??  OK, that was a funny and odd moment, me trying to explain there are 100s of workouts to name and sometimes they get a bit creative…(still laughing!) As long we balance the me-time and we-time things are OK.   Besides, he is seeing progress and is proud of me, so that is definitley helping when I say, I’m going to go workout for awhile, see you in 30 minutes, Honey!

  • Alotofrice

    Hi Vivi,

I was also just joking.  If I had a quarter million dollars for every time those two said a new workout was on it’s way… and it was a day or two later when it appeared!  I would be a millionaire! :-)

    Nice scores BTW!

I dont have an ugi ball but I did buy a medicine ball specifically to replace the ugi ball until I can get one( I really want one) I cant do any of the parts where it involves putting weight on the ball but I can still have it right there to jump up with. I have  a  6 lbs medicine ball. My reps were 23. I know not as good as you zuzana but it was soo-ooo fun!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Sunshine – when you are setting it, your first interval is your rest period.  For example, your first interval might be 10 seconds for rest, and then your next interval is 30 seconds for maximum effort.  The folks at Gymboss are super helpful if you need to call them and walk through it.   Zuzana always gives good instructions on how to set the interval timer for the rest period and effort period, so watch for that in her instructions :) have fun!

  • tee

I personally feel if you can do the full version then you should, even if you are slower.  It’s not about speed but about working the muscles to the most capacity, as you get fitter then you will get faster.

35 reps without equipment, sweating alot! love this workout!<3 now for the lovers!

  • Annie_B

So many times I saw rude comments at Bodyrock’s facebook page :( It’s pathetic how people want to take you down by saying mean things. They don’t realize that it has no impact with you or with us.We can prove they’re totally wrong :)  They’re like wind, just come and go. Haters hate others because they lack of self-esteem, they doubt themselves and they hate themselves. Just ignore them Zuzi, Freddy. What you are doing is the most wonderful and genourous thing that ones can do for others. Me and all bodyrockers are always here to support you guys :)

Anyhow, I completed this workout 41 sets with 10 lbs. medicine balls.  Dripping sweat!!! My heart beat very hard and fast :) Thank you so much guys!!

  • Sarah

I LOVE muscles!! The haters are just jealous.

  • Goalie

    Hi folks!
Well, I started a few weeks ago and today/tonight I tried this workout…
I don´t own a Fit Ball so I did this exercise on a waterpolo-ball. It´s really hard to keep your balance, but it works out great!
So far I pushed myself to 26 repititions.
It was awesome – my legs were burning but it was really great!
You guys keep up the great work!

  • ZoeRocker

Holy crap!! I did this workout with my beginner bodyrocker boyfriend tonight and it was tough! I managed 52 reps without the ball but I forgot the push-ups!! So I did 52 pushups when it was over. That was brutal but I did it. My BF couldn’t keep track of his reps because he had a hard enough time remembering the sequence:) We were both sweating buckets!! We did a burpee for Erin of course.

  • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

This workout killed my quads instantly even after only did 1 set!!! I completed 28 sets (no Ugi ball). I can’t imagine how Zuzi completed 40 sets with the Ugi ball

Hi Kim – Zuzana just does the workouts that we post :)

  • Gerrilee Schafer

Back to full time training…my body is still rebelling after 10 days of excess in Las Vegas, but I’m back at it.  Only managed 35 sets using my bosu ball upside down.  I almost choked laughing at one point….the little indent on the bottom where you fill it with air was full of sweat that had dripped off my face and head…keep it coming

  • http://www.facebook.com/Stefan.Korthals Stefan Korthals

5 days later and this time I did  31 reps WITH a ball.
MY legs are killing me right now, but that´s what it´s all about, right?!?

    Have a nice weekend everyone!

i did this exercise on my stability ball (i should have done this on the floor or a medicine ball because my wrist hurt) however, I completed 29 sets.

  • Annebel Wind

Hi everyone, I did this workout whitout the fitness ball, but still found it really heavy.. I completed 31 sets.. Will try to beat my score next time… Want to get to the 40 sets also…

I do these workouts once a day, if you feel your not getting the full benefit buy all the equipment and up the weight in your sandbag, im using 35lbs, if your doing these workouts at full intensity you shouldnt be able to do them more than once a day.

Did this as a first workout today (followed with Hot Body on Me) and did 42 and a half sets–weird, it was harder than last time, which probably means I had better form, right?  I also had a 10lb ugly ball.  Last time it may have been less.  Anyway, it was a good cardio burn, and a good quad burn too!  And strangely fun!

That purple one is 6 lbs. The pink one in some other videos is 8.
