Shake It! 250 Rep Workout with BodyRocker Jess :)

Hi BodyRockers,

Today we have a completely new workout for you – a 250 Rep time challenge that BodyRocker Jess took on full force. First of all we all know that these workouts are killer. Zuzana put this one together to jump start our training again after working through some of our older routines these past few weeks. Now imagine it… you drive almost 5 hours from home and arrive in a city that you have never been to before to meet people that you have never met in person, go through a whirlwind 2 hours at lululemon trying on everything in the store and then hit a workout that promises to be brutal in front of some people with cameras pointed at you – knowing full well that BodyRockers all over the world will be watching you sweat it out. It’s a lot for anyone to take on – and I think it would take just about anyone out of their comfort level. Jess handled it like a true BodyRocker. Bringing in someone directly out of the community – someone just like you who has been doing these routines at home – just felt right. We will be bringing in all kinds of BodyRockers to lead these routines and share their experiences and help our family grow. A big thank you to Jess for having the courage to step forward as the first BodyRocker guest host to help inspire the rest of us Rockers to push it to the next level.

If you thought that this routine was tough, my brother Sean will be leading us through a full body routine tomorrow that had him completely gassed out in just minutes :) Some of you guys will remember that Sean and Zuzana did about 10 workouts together last year here on the site.

Best,

Freddy.

Workout Breakdown

Time: ?min.Workout Type: Time ChallengeExercises: 5

Instructions:

Set your Interval Timer as a stop watch because today’s workout is a time challenge. Your goal is to complete all of the exercises as fast as you can – there are 50 reps for each exercise as you can see it in the workout breakdown. You can try to beat my time – I did it in 13 minutes and 11 seconds. I was using my pink sandbag with about 35lbs of weight in it and the Dip Station.

I also explain each exercise, proper form and easier variations for beginners in the video above. Jess is the one who leads us through the workout and shows how to push yourself. I think she did a great job and she deserves our support.

Enjoy your workout and do a Burpee for Erin and everyone who needs it!

Best,

Zuzka.

Whew!  Just did this, followed by the first part of The One That Got Away (just the 4 minute sequence).  I got 14:05 this time–last time I got 17:59, but I did the knee raise in the first exercise.  This time I had limited equipment, so I just did the knee raise and lunge with an imaginary dip station, and instead of core splits I did leg raises (like knee raises but with straight legs) from my pull up bar.

    14:05!

Just finished this one today in 11:14 with a 30 pound sandbag and a walker as my dip station :) It actually works very well with these workouts and the best part is that it was free!

My time was 22:55.  I had to take breaks.  I’m sorta a beginner, but let me tell you, I was a dripping wet mess ‘ O ‘ SwEaT after this workout.

I did the dip station combo the way Zuzka did it…I didn’t see Jess do the leg lift after each reverse lunge, maybe its just me.  I’ll watch the video again.  BTW, Jess, you did spectacular.  I’m really happy to see the various faces of Bodyrock.  Thanks very much Freddie and Zuzka, you two are my fitness superheros. Have a great day all my fellow bodyrockers!!!

  • Vivi

Thanks a lot for your words. But I use only 10kg(I can’t use more and It’s enough to be in pain hahaha) for all my workouts. So you can be very proud of your score !!

Cool for your skinniest jeans !!

Damn too many comments to read through them all & reply BUT I guess I agree, good job everyone we love you all :D

and I did it in 13’46″! 30# in my bag but did V-ups instead of core split. still lacking that dip station…

  • ranahip

    Good job Jess, inspiring!!

  • Wilma 1986

This was Nice video :) But i love how Zuzka do her work out and her accent when she speak. Her smile make even hard work out feeling Comfortable ;)

19:51 for me. I lost some time by rebuilding my apartment. I don´t have any of the original equipment and sometimes it´s a funny story how I´m quickly trying to invent something to work for me because I often forget on something important before starting the wo. It´s always a big panic :)

I have always so stupid thoughts before doing a new workout. Today I was thinking: “Hmmm, only half burpees? Looks easy, I will do normal burpees.” One big hahahaha on my stupidity again ;) Of course I ended doing “only” half burpees and I was so glad when I finished :) I used 13kg for squats and 9kg for the swings. I wish I could use more for the swings but my lower back keeeps telling me I shouldn´t…
    Thank you!

Good workout! my face was as red as a tomato. first workout after 5 days of no working out due to stomach problems.

it took me 17:30 min. doing this
    1. Knee raise + kick over lunge
    2. Half burpee
    3. Squats + 1 pulse when down (no weight)
    4. core splits
    5. 1 arm swing with 13 lb/ 6kg

I think the exercise that took me the most was the first one, not sure tho. Then i did some pull ups with my new bar :D, burpee for erin and some stretching! now off to study history! D:

  • tee

interesting video doug.  I suppose if you were prone to lean forward like that it might be better to hold it in front.  one thing I noticed was when this girl, jessica, squatted the second time her back was slightly more upright but both times she is not making sure her hips go way back like zuzana recommends and both times her knees went in front of her toes, which is really bad for the knees.  zuzana I believe also tells you to keep your back upright.  in looking at this video,  I don’t think this girl should be adding weight to her squats until she can do them with her hips back so her toes don’t go forward.  I guess that is what mirrors in the gym are handy for, so you can see your form

It’s funny but I’ve sort of wondered about injuring your shoulder or stress on your elbows from holding the bag like that in the back, but not that it might bother your back.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alana-Stacy/698175600 Alana Stacy

So I didn’t time it, and I omitted the burpees and sandbag swings, because my new boobies still can’t handle them! :D So I substituted Pilates 100 and my thighmaster, like at least 100 of those bastards! Yess to Jess! She’s awesome! More Jess! :D

  • tee

wow!  I haven’t had time to workout all week, so I thought I would do this one plus another!  wrong! I am totally wiped!  ha ha!  It took me 7 1/2 minutes just to do the half burpees!   all together 19min 48sec!

OK now my burpee for erin and anyone else needing good vibes!

oh and I did kick over lunge back and toe touch, since I don’t have a dip station & core split off edge of a high stool!  and my duffel bag has 14 lbs of medicine balls & I used a 15lb dumbell for swings.

ha ha I’m looking at what I just wrote and the only move I didn’t modify was the half burpee! (which I tried to touch the ceiling every jump!)   so to all you bodyrockers, see you can do these even if you don’t have the “right” tools!

  • V.I.G.

    15 min..:)

  • lala

So jess did it in 14:03 minutes and zuzana in 13minutes 11seconds, what about you freddy?

I’m on my way for this workout. (The one sean did will have to wait a couple of days, i don’t want to be worn out)

I would have loved to hear what jess had to say about this workout and her experience of all this.

Anyway very glad to see zuzana on the video too.

Thank you all for this good work.

  • Vivi

    10.30 min for me !!!

  • Kelly_C

That was really hard. Well done jess I felt your pain!!! Xx

  • Kelly_C

Oh my god that was tough!!! Absolutely loved it!!! Thanks guys. Well done jess I felt your pain!!! Xx

  • Lisa

13:19 was my time. I haven’t been body rocking much lately and I am definitely noticing a difference strength-wise and clothing fit-wise. I am going to get back on the train.

Jess, very awesome first video. You looked great and it was good to see you sweating and working so hard, it makes the rest of us feel normal! Freddy and Zuzana, I hope you both are finding your days less difficult and are feeling better about your new lives. It’s amazing what the passage of time can do to heal and help us move on. Great friends help too, and you have that with us body rockers! Looking forward to the new workouts to come…

  • Lenka Slovakia

23 min 44 uff Was doing the exercise in  sweat suit. All exercise proper form… Loved it, thank you guys

  • Giuliana

This is my first workout using the dip station I just got it today and not sure if it was a good idea, now I will need to use it often and i’m sooo tired!… it was such a good workout! Thank you Jess you did a great job! :) and Zuzana I just want to say I MISS YOU! …and for both of you thank you for this  community!

  • Anonymous

Way to go Jess!! You did good. Your struggle showed true strength! woohoo!! Nice to seeya in w the modifications as well Z!
Freddy great push / motivation for Jess!

  • Heather

Doing this one today… Jess – I know that for me the time challenges are MUCH harder for me to push hard all the way through compared to the interval training… so I think you did an amazing job of pushing… plus being in front of the camera would have me a little self conscious to say the least. I am looking forward to seeing more of your workouts! Great job! The reminder from Zuz about proper form and just resting a bit until you can do proper form were very timely for me. I start to just stand up and call my burpee done when I’m getting tired… so I’m going to try very hard to rest enough so that I can do the form correctly for every last one of the 50 half burpees. Wish me luck on that… ;-)

  • mohoppe

missed zu doing the workout but i felt there are to many close ups of jess and her body then the actual workout. thanks for the breakdowns. good job everyone.

  • PA Jess

It took me longer than I thought it would because I read all of your INCREDIBLE times before I tried it.  It took me 17:50.  I don’t have a dip station, so I used the arms of my couches.  I also added the knee raises for the kick over dip station combo like Z did.  I look forward to beating this time the next time I try it.

  • Cindy

Jess, Yo did great! I went to gym last night and I saw the same people doing the same long workout and they all look the same. Thanks God that I found Bodyrock .tv.  I did this workout in 16 minutes plus 15 minutes of skipping.

  • Charlie D.

I did this in 14:08 today.  I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m thinking about you.  I’m so sorry.

After 2 days running nose I can finally breathe by nose haha:)) I am still not 100% fit but I am adicted to BODYROCK!!!I did it exactly as Zuzka described. So my score for this workout is 14:28 minutes and I’m proud:)))

I think I deserved on Bodyrock Tank or T-shirt lol:))))

  • Samantha R

This is my first day back after 6 days off in a row with a stinking cold.  Finished in 13:52 with knee raises in the combo and two handed sb swing. Sx

    16:41

One day Zu, I’ll catch up to you.

  • Surfin’Smoothie

Brutal and wonderful! Thanks guys! I had to split this one up into segments and modify leg raises interspersed with core splits. 18:14 time.

  • Elibriru

    hi bodyrockers
i’ve been watching all the workouts for months and I started like 2 weeks ago i must say this feel really good thisthis community is very nice i already feel better doing this. hope to get a nice body after some time.. all of you are an inspiration for me.  by the way OMG this workout was hard lol but Im not gonna give up.!!! :D
this took like 14 min to jess it took me 25 min :p

sorry 4 my english im learning too :D

  • Suki

Hi Tish – thanks for the reply. It was reassuring to hear that they switched the bags to maintain quality because when I got my sandbag I thought would have a harder time training with it since it wasn’t the same as Z’s. ~ Cheers

  • Leilany

Just completed this today. Can’t say I was disappointed with my time as I didn’t modify anything and it felt great! Thank you Jess and Zuz for the video! 16:21!

  • Jennapresson

I like Jess. She seems like a neat person. But I would like it more if you would keep looking and Jess needs to eat. Also would prefer someone less Canadian to follow. Freddy may be the only Canadian  friend for me. I’m just playing!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alana-Stacy/698175600 Alana Stacy

Awww! Whats wrong with us Canadians! We’re awesome! :D :P

I’ve just finished this one, and I must say that you both (Zuzka and Jess) are crazy women!!!  :D :D
How on earth did you manage to finish under 15min?! Congrats to you both, you’re amazing! ;)
My time was 18:31, which is not that bad, I pushed really hard, and I had to go slower on the squats. I used my 14kg barbell and I had to watch my form. It was a lot of fun and very challenging, so I enjoyed it very much.
    Thanks!

  • Anonymous

I could only do 25 of the burpees, they always kill me but I’ll keep adding 5 until i can do 50 in a row.

  • Pamela

try it out but carefully first so you don´t hurt your self, good luck! :)

  • Lauren Day

    Freddy,

Do you want to travel to Germany to video a body rocker?? :)

  • http://fitbloganni.blogspot.com/ Anni

Lately I was having problems, with finishing my workouts… the little voice in my head was always telling me i can’t do it… and I listened….
But today I promised myself to do the entire workout, no matter what will happen…
I had to modify this workout: doing kick over a chair, lunge back without the knee raise; did only 15 half burpees and then mountan climbers instead (just do to something) and did star crunches insted of the core split.

I think I did really good! My time was 15:26min :)

Anyone some tipps for me to get motivated again?

    • Lisa

Hi Anni. I know what you mean about the lack of motivation. I found going back to my old workout logs helped and seeing how well I was doing. Maybe just browse the site as well and check out some workouts and see how much fun Zuzana is having. Also, maybe you could buy yourself a new workout top or something after doing a certain number of workouts…we all go through phases or ups and downs, so I think it’s normal.

  • Anonymous

Sweet workout! I love it when the workouts are short, yet leave me completely exhausted….almost doesn’t seem possible. I completed this one in 12:58, but I had to use pullup bars for the core splits.

  • Laura

Way to go, Jess!!!  You did really well!!  This workout is no joke.. I can’t imagine doing it in front of a camera!  Your squats are superb, btw.  ATG! Love it!   Hope to see you doing some more workouts in the future!

    Keep on bodyrocking :)

  • Ellavemia

This was the perfect blend of of Jess, Freddy, and Zuzana. I’m so glad it was balanced with Zuz doing the tutorial because I love seeing her on camera. It’s also really good to hear you Freddy. You’re a great motivator too. Jess, you did a wonderful job rocking the workout. It takes guts to be on camera in front of so many people. I have two pieces of advice anyway though; don’t be afraid to breathe, and put your hair up first! Mine is long so I do a single braid or pigtails and sometimes a hat to keep the flyaways away whenever I’m working out. If my hair was down I couldn’t focus on pushing as hard as I can. I hope this isn’t too critical, because you looked great and I can tell you were working hard. All in all, awesome first video! I can’t wait to see Sean today. Thanks for making these new videos, Freddy and Zuzana and any bodyrockers who are helping out.

  • bodyrockerGinaNYC

I missed you freddy, although I will admit I miss seeing you and zuzana together during coffee talks and during the workouts its not the same but I will get use to it. At least I hope I will. Thanks for the workout it was great. I just did it this morning. Hopefully we see you and zuzka together on bodyrock even if it just as friends.

  • sebastien LEBLOND

    Hi

Zuzana and Jess are very pretty women.

It is very nice to see them in the same video.

    Keep on bodyrocking.

    18:55
    so hard! :P
    thanks!

  • http://ofdreamsandseams.blogspot.com/ Katja

Is everyone forgetting to actually DO the workout because of all the discussions?? Because – I don’t see anybody posting their times?! :-)

It took me 19:41 to do this (with the knee raises in the first exercise), so WAY long – I felt out of shape today, probably due to a couple nights of not sleeping enough. In good shape it would have taken me less for sure, but Jess certainly rocked it! Thank you!

  • Pavlina

Thanks for that, Juan, I suspected that is the case :)

Loved this workout! Jess, you did such an awesome job!!!  I can’t wait to see your next workout :)
I did this wo today with 25 lbs. and finished in 13:38 mins :) So, I beat your time Jess ;) My legs are still sore from Hotel Room Workout I did yesterday and the 50 reps ofSandbag  Squats really made them feel like jell-o lol.

  • Vanessa Girard

I like the new formula.  I can’t wait to see Jess progress.  It will comes with time as our progress.  I can’t imagine my self doing workouts video for Bodyrocker’s as a new personnage (if I can say) on that site.  It is super to have Zuzka proper form.  Personnaly, I feel more in touch with the web site.

  • ZoeRocker

I think its going to be a brand new workout anyway but watching Zuz kick Sean’s butt is funny :)

Hi there:) love your workouts , I started bodyrocking a month ago and I love it:)

  • http://www.carolynbellpilates.com Carolyn Pilates

Today was one of those days where its hard to carve time in for the workout. So…jumped in the car and joined hubby for 30 min cardio intervals at the gym. Between making dinner and wrapping up computer work, I completed the 50 ea of the sandbag squats and half burpees. Since I don’t have a dip station, substituted sandbag sit ups.

I did the exercises 10 here, 25 there as I completed other tasks. I didn’t want to miss Jesse’s first w/o!

Surprised and delighted to see Zuzana intro the video!

  • Caity

    awesome thanks so much :)

Here is a workout I did yesterday outside on my lunch break completely barefoot that worked out really well. I call it 21 JUMP STREET. It was 70 degrees outside yesterday. Today…it snowed. It’s 21 minutes long and has 5 parts.

    Part 1. 5 minutes. Set interval timer to 6 X 10/40 (6 rounds of 10 sec and 40 sec)
Jump Rope Sprint. Max reps. Jump rope feet together as fast a possible. My score 110, 100, 103
Diver Bombers. Max reps. My score: 5, 4, 4

Part 2. Set timer as stopwatch for 3 minutes. Complete max reps of…NINJA JUMBLE. One rep of Ninja Jumble looks like this:  Do one ninja jump (no jump tuck). Hop forward twice. Do one Half Burpee (burpee without the pushup). Hop backwards twice. Do another half burpee. That’s one set. My score: 9

    Part 3. 5 minutes. Set timer to 6 X 10/40 again.
Jump rope left leg. Max reps. My score 73, 57, 51
Rollover Commando Pushups. Max reps. My score 5, 4, 6

    Part 4. 5 minutes. Set timer to 6 X 10/40.
Jump rope right leg. Max reps. My score 72, 41, 45
PTTVL (plank, toe touch, vertical leap) My score 4, 5, 6 1/2

Part 5. Set timer to 3 minutes again. Do max sets of Sandbag Combo from this workout http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/10/24/butt-fat-melt-down/  My score 10

Zuzana, you should do this workout sometime and see if you like it.

LOVE the new format. What a graceful, exciting, supportive introduction to the growing BodyRock.tv TEAM! Wonderful to see Zuzka, hear Freddy and watch somebody new sweat it out and push for all they are worth! YES to JESS! Looking forward to Sean tomorrow and whoever else joins the team down the line. Well done, everyone!

Does anyone know why I can’t sign in using my facebook account anymore?

    • Sasha Haidei

that’s the problem that I was having, but I thought it was something wrong with my browser so I just signed in using google account. Still can’t =(

  • Jen

I think Jess did a great job! And I also loved that Z was right there with us.  I am curious why Jess did different variations of the exercises though (ie-no leg lifts with the kick overs, one armed sandbag swings??) no big deal, just curious!

love you guys!  So far I’ve lost almost 15 lbs and I’m still going strong and couldn’t be happier!! Thanks for changing my life :)

  • http://tattoosnob.com Julene

Good first video with Jess! I’m sure as she gets more comfortable she’ll talk more – being personable when you’re sweating and out of breath takes time to adjust to, I’m sure. :)

I don’t have a dip station, so I did the kickover at the right height but without the knee raise. And I did the core split hanging off a door in my apartment… for the first 10, until the door moved too much. Moved to the floor and did leg lift/butt lifts for the last 40. Sandbag loaded with 25# of rice.

    Total time: 20:28

  • Charlie

    I miss Zuzana :'(

I did it this morning in 13:55 then did an ab workout, a trx workout and 3×10 clapping pushups with hands and feet clapping.  This was the first time I could do all 3 sets clapping hands and feet!

I’ll do 20 minutes interval skipping this afternoon.

  • Anonymous

Can’t wait for my dip station to come in the mail!

  • irreverend

18 minutes. Could have been better, but I finished with modified core split. Maybe I will get a dip station for Christmas…

This was so awesome!  I did it in 19:23.  I was aiming for a shorter time, but I’ll take it.  I used a 25 lb sandbag.

  • Jenn

This had me dripping in sweat! :)

I didn’t do as well as I would have liked, though.  It took me 20:30 to finish, and I could not finish my squats with the sandbag today.  I had to finish them with no sandbag (I probably should have just made it a little lighter since I knew I was tired at the start of the workout).    I had already gone running and biking, and before that I spent more than an hour horseback riding.

I did want to check my form, so I filmed myself doing this workout.  For most of it my form was good, but for the kick overs at the start I noticed that my legs were bent- all this time I was thinking they were straight!  I’ll need to work on that.  More stretching, maybe?

Yes to Jess!  Great job Jess, I would have been terrified those are big shoes to fill!
I agree with the others lets hear Jess talk a little and get to know her more, it would make her seem more personable and then funner to watch do the workout.

Great to see Zuzka too really helps inject energy into it.

    Hi guys.

Nice workout.. Really different from what it was before.. i like seeing Jess.. and would love to hear her aswell.. i feel a bit more connected because I can see her struggeling with the workout just as i do. But still I am not in the shape Jess is in.. I wish :(  I have to work harder to get there.. So RESPECT.. for Jess.. For having the nerve to do this.. Me Like :D
My time was 19.59.. i am not proud.. Feel a bit sad..
Thanx for the workout guys.. Was great.. Lots of love for all bodyrockers…<3

  • Pavlina

Guys, what sort of weight did you use for the squats and swings? I used dumbbells, 15kg and 7.5kg, respectively and nearly killed myself.

My result was way over my ‘planned’ goal of 15min – 18min 06sec. However, I did take Zuzi’s advice into account and I made sure I powered up like crazy on those burpees as opposite to just making small jumps. Doing the abs exercises holding on a table and another surface instead of the dip station, as I usually do, was brutal as well. Damn, wasn’t I feeling on top of the world after the workout! :))

    Yeeeah for Jess :))
Freddy it was nice to hear you again :)) that makes my whole day *haha*

This was a great workout :) It took me exactly 13:07!
+ Burpee for Erin, Zuzka, Freddy and Jess :))

Looking forward for today´s Workout … nice to see Sean again :)

    nice day, bodyrockers!

It’s great to see a new workout! Jess did a fantastic job! I agree with some of the other Body Rockers, it would be nice to hear Jess introduce the workout or speak afterwards. I think we all would love to get to know Jess’ personality. That’s one thing that I really enjoy about seeing Zuzka, her personality shines through her introductions and closures with the videos.

  • Anonymous

I like it when we (bodyrockers) get creative when we don’t have the equipment required to do the workouts. :) I use 2 chairs instead of dip station and my table for reverse push ups. :)

  • T_oftheangels

Wow, nothing against Jess as I’m sure she was nervous being her 1st time but Zuzka is one of a kind.  Her pesosnality & ability are a fierce act to follow.  HMMMMMMMMM wonder if anyone will be able to take the stage like our homegirl Zuzana xo

Did you rock your body today?  I was in the mood to use my ball so I decided to do only 25 reps of this workout, instead of 50 and then I did some other exercises.  Fantastic!  Thank you all, and have a grrrrreat day!

Did Zuz version too… I mentioned on my blog that I hope we are not gonna turn into some kind of Team Zuzana and Team Jess kinda thing :D I meant it as a joke, but now this seems like it :D :D :D (in a good way of course)

What could I do instead of Core Split when I don’t have the dip station? Maybe leg raises?

    Very well done Jess! :)

  • http://www.dheana.com Dheana

Great job on everyone’s part…First, a big KUDOs to Jess for your Bodyrock premier. You did a great job! I agree with others that it would be nice to have a few introductory words. Freddy. maybe you could ask “How are you feeling?” or “Are you ready to do this?” – just to give Jess, or the next host, a chance to respond and provide a little bit of a personal connection before launching in to the workout. Just a thought…
So wonderful to see Zuzka incorporated in to the new format in such an important and central way. Who called her “the Queen?” in a previous post – brilliant! :) And on a side note – your energy in the tutorial Zuzka speaks to your new-found peace. Nice to see your energy back – you must be receiving all the love being sent your way.
Freddy, great job making this new format work. It couldn’t have been easy for you filming a new person doing the workout. Thank you for forging forward.
Can’t wait to see Sean in tomorrow’s video. I’ll never forget the time he almost puked! lol Good times! :)
I think everyone deserves a round of *high fives*!

  • Hege Vindstad

You know what? At first I was sceptic to these changes, but now I think this is GREAT!

Jess, you should be proud of yourself being able to do this! You did a great job in front of the camera! :)
I can’t even do my Bodyrocking in front of my friends without feeling awkward and getting all shy! *LOL*
It was good to hear Freddy pushing her. Actually, I hear Freddys voice in my head saying “push iiiiit” or “Come on, one more! You can do it!” whenever I feel exhausted during my workouts! It helps :)
And I am so glad to see Zuzana in the end, explaining the exercises! :-)
I liked this alot! Can’t wait for tomorrows video of Sean! :-D

  • Bodyrocker_Audra

Way proud of you Jess! ;)

Ohh Zuzka, it’s great to hear and see you from behind the camera.  It did help me get some of that Bodyrock spark back and well, I’m ready for some more friendly competition, tehe.

And Fredster, great to hear your supportive voice behind the camera and kudos for putting it all together in a nice little package ;)

With 35lbs my time is 11:53.  + healing burpees for Erin!
    Go Bodyrocker’s!

    • Lily Zinchuk

I completely agree Audra! With out Zuzka on camera during workouts, the Bodyrock ‘spark’ is missing….its back! :D

  • ZoeRocker

Yes!! Hilarious! I loved those vidoes!

  • ZoeRocker

Type “Sexy Beast Workout” in the search box. You will see an older workout there where she is using two chairs and a broomstick for reverse push ups. For dips and knee raises just put two sturdy chairs back to back and voila!

  • Amanda Haskin

Great job, Jess!!  Thanks for leading the way…I hope to see other Bodyrockers hosting soon, too!  Change is good :)  Getting ready  to rock this one now.  It’s going to be awesome!

I am with you on this Marie! :) She is always gonna be the face of Bodyrock.tv to me :)

    Yes to Jess  rock on!!

So I was just curious, the first exercise is explained differently by Zuzka than it was done by Jess… I was just wondering if it was meant to be that way? Cause there was no knee raise on Jess’s video, but I will do it since Zuzka did it on her part :D!!

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

THANK YOU JESS, you did a terrific job :) So cute and shy you are – VERY understandable!!! You look amazing and so does your beautiful slim body, wow!

My time: 09:50 with my 15 kilo sandbag.

I still don’t have access to any Dip Station, so I made 50 Star Crunches on the floor, after the first 50 reps of Kick Over & BW Lunge. I made sure to go very deep in the lunges and jump up with POWER in the Half Burpees. Thanks for reminding me, Zuzka. It makes the exercise so much harder on the thighs – which is a GOOD thing. Therefore, I had to take some short breaks in between them. I tried to make Core Splits on the arms of my sofa chair, but my hands kept sliding off. I managed 25 reps that way and made 25 Hanging Knee Raises on my Pull-up bar after.

Thanks for a short, great and intense sweat :)
I am SO thrilled to have you guys back on the cam again!!!!

    Love, Maria

I was so curious to see!  You did a good job Jess!  I blame the hair for the “improper” half burpee form.  I also have long hair and I need them to be out of the way in order for me to push hard. I do a french braid. I will do this one later today.  See  ya!

Hat off Jess, for nailing the challenge after such a busy day AND doing the exercises in front of Freddy Daddy’s camera – the eyes of thousands of Body Rocker Buddies. Good job, girl!

The routine took me 12:13 and my butt feels like a slab of rock. Better go and stretch.
    See you guys tomorrow!

I did this lovely workout this morning and my time was 17:14. Not too bad.
I was so excited to see the actual changes coming out of our community. Jess did a great job and it was so nice to hear Freddy on the video. Yeah!! Of course, to see Suzka back. I really missed you guys and hope everyone is doing well.
I shall see you all tomorrow, God Bless.

  • Gerrilee Schafer

Just finished…used 30 lb in my SB…took 14:31 ….the core splits really slowed me down….I did the knee raise version of the dip station combo, and 2 hand SB swing.

It’s great everything is back on track and i really loved this workout .
my score was 14:50 could have gone faster if my improvised dip station wasn’t so temperamental today:/
congrats to jess on your first workout wohoo!

  • GoustiFruit

Jess: I don’t know you, but somehow I’m very proud of you: you did what a lot of us wouldn’t have the b*lls to do, I’m totally impressed :-) You looked a little shy at first but as Freddy stated, with all you had to face at once, you did great ! I would have liked to have your impressions on the workout though, like what you liked, what was too hard or maybe not enough, …

Freddy: good job with Jess, maybe a little short… a few more movements would have been nice. But hey, it was a first, I’m sure you were also out of you comfort zone ;-)

Zuzana: you’re doing good with the cam all by yourself, looks like a pro :-)

  • Anonymous

It was good to see everyone and hear Freddy. I feel like I have my family back and then some! If you can get Jess and Sean to compete the way Zuzana and he did – I loved that, it made for good watching and we saw the same technique on two different body types.

I’m happy to have seen Jess in Action. Jess you did a very good job – I admit after 10 burpees my jumps looks very much like yours ;-P. It’s hard to maintain ones enthusiasm to jump once you start to fatigue. Thanks for the rest tip Zuzana.

Thanks everyone, hugs n’ kisses all round.  I’ll do this one at the gym where they have the bars I use as a dipstaion for the splits (which are killer) and the kick over combo. Rock on everyone

The new era of Bodyrock.tv The transition is working well. Go Jess you were great.

    Another great and effective workout.

My time is 17.59 with the knee raise if the first combo.

Have a good day all, looking forward the next wo.

  • Mary Lou

Excellent Job Jess! I finished in 15:20 but after 25 half burpees I realized I should split the rounds 25/25 or I would fizzle and pop. So 50 kicks overs, then 2 rounds of 25 each for the remaining exercises for me. And burpees for Erin and everyone!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

    Hello everyone.
I did this workout in 22:45 :( The problem that I am having is my asthma, I have this since a little girl but as I grew up it became better and no problems anymore, in fact since I started bodyrock I have not have any “attack” ( I dont know how to translate it ) even though the workouts really take all your breath away.

Anyway, now the story have changed a bit, lately I have been having difficulties to breath what makes me way slower, those half burpees and squats (10kg) took me an eternity because I was out of breath. This doesnt discourage me and it motivates me to continue. I will go to the doctor soon anyway to find out how to stop this asthma levels, honestly I can´t laugh very hard either because right away I am out of breath and I really need my medication :( which I hate. I don´t take medication on a daily basis. I was just fine!

Jess, thank you for leading us, you did a very good job, I really like it. Maybe you should talk a bit more :)
I can´t wait to see Sean´s workout hehehe. Zuzka I must admit it was very pleasant to “see you” again, I am looking forward for more recipes XD

    Take care guys,

    • Anonymous

I don’t know what you use to control your asthma, but I’ve been using advair for a couple of years now.  I use it once in the morning and once at night and almost never have to use ventolin any more.

  • Krustysnuggums1

After watching this, I feel like working out right now! As a matter of fact, I think I will….
Love and blessings to Zuzka, Freddy, Jess and the entire Bodyrock community! YAY!

  • AmBoaksy

Ive been living in a lab for almost 2 months now (gettin way too little sleep) but I still find a way to fit in BodyRocks here and there.  After all the setbacks Ive had  in the lab, I need something physical to push me along and prove that I can do something!  This workout was definitely it.  Those half burpees took me forever to get done.

I had to change the workout bc I don’t have a dipstation so I did the kick overs standing on one leg and before I put my foot down, I’d do a knee tuck.  Then for the core splits, I did it on the floor and as I did the core split, I pulled a bag of sugar (wrapped in several shoppin bags) forward and reached through my legs.  I know you don’t work your arms as well doing that as on the dip station, but something is always better than nothing in these workouts.

All in all, it took me 19:56 to complete this workout.  Not as good as Jess’ time ;)  Great job Jess!!!!!  You looked great and you pushed hard; an inspiration for all of us following behind you!

  • Lvette #1

I’m as giddy as I was the first time I discovered BodyRock.Tv February 2009. Got 5 hours sleep because I waited past my bedtime just to witness Jess debut.

I completed this routine in  17:11 using a 22lb home bag for squats, 10lb kettlebell for swing. I killed myself trying to beat Jess score. I did the routine exactly as Jess did on the video since I wanted to compare my score with hers. Jess, you’re in great shape (you must have been going like the energizer bunny during the shoot).  I hope you’d fun and was able to enjoy this whole experience.

LOL!  a Dr. Pain even contributed to the making of this video. Thanks to all the folks at The Live Well Centre in Kingston for their kindness.

I can’t wait to see Sean’s workout. Bring it on, Sean.

  • Sabrina

Yess!!! I remember :) brought a smile to my face to think of it. That is also when Zuzanna had a plastic thing over her teeth that made them look a bit brownish and Freddy kept callilng her brownie :D
    Good times.
    Sabs.

19:41 with a 22lb sandbag.  Those 50 half burpees were a struggle but I tried made sure I did good form. Sometimes I just did 2-5 at time, took a quick breather & shook out my limbs, and kept going (thanks for the reminder to do that, Zuzka).

    Ok Jess!

Watching you made me feel so good… ’cause I understood that hard is good, imperfect is better!

Burpees are a killer to me, watching you having trouble with them made me realise I’m not alone!!!

But seriously, you were wonderful in the WO! Keep going girl!

    XXX from team Portugal

  • Pavlina

Honestly, what was the drama all about :) Great job, guys, you pulled it all together as a team and with passion, hence the fantastic end result. It can only get better from here. I’m proud to be part of this community!

P.S. Zuzka made a pretty good remark on the jump of the burpees – I have a tendency to slack off as well when I get tired but that was a nice reminder, thanks!

  • Daniela(Duovka)

Jess, you can be proud of yourself…It was good job for the first time and after 5 hours traveling and all around busy day!!!I prefer to workout at mornings, because I have more power and I can see difference between morning and late score…..hope next time you will smile a bit and give more power into it:)))

good job Jess…I know that lot of us were thinking “How would I handle this?”…in my job I perform in front of live audience, but of course it is not like this, here you have to match up with Zuzana, and girl, let me tell you…you are so brave to do this…and you are cute!

  • Zouzou_polpapitchou

I thought GG’s comment down there was a little harsh on Zuzana, Freddy who is filming and Jess! 1.Zuzana took her decision not to present the workouts any more: let’s respect her. Plus, she still explains the whole movements after Jess’ workout (movements we can find in so many workouts over and over again for those who don’t have yet the hang of them). 2. Second, Freddy and Jess need to find their chemistry working together. They need a bit of time ! Chemistry builds slowly and based on trust. They are new to each other! 3. Third, Jess is super nice looking AND athletic, did the whole movements very well. She also looks like a sweet girl and has her own style that will be more and more assertive. Me too, In Zuzana and Freddy’s vision I trust!!!

    :)I say:
Yes to Jess, I remember how shy Zuzana was back in her first videos!
Yay to Sean! This is awesome – I really enjoyed the workouts with him last year. Let’s see if he improved himself *evilgrin*
Awww to Freddy – this was just cute.
And sighing in relief to Zuz: I’m glad we will still see you!

So, just an idea: What about a second filmer? I mean, you take in some new bodyrocker-hosts, why not some new bodyrocker-filmers? This way you will be more flexible and maybe you don’t have to drive this far and so on…

18:54 min. No wonder my time is so slow – I did first exercise with knee raises. But what slowed me down most, are half burpees. Damn, they’re exhausting! :)

    • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

Hey masage, I experienced the same with halfburpees! Also did with knee raises and half burpees doomed my score big time :D

      • Anonymous

Hehe, yeah! The important thing is we did it! :)

    • Kendra Lee Oberhauser

Ha!  I actually went seeking out for other people that got in the 18-min range, like me, because I felt like I was really doing well and then I checked my time adn I was like, “whhhhaaaaa???”  But I did the knee raises, too, and I also took Zuz’s advice and did a nice jump up, and my burpees went pretty sloooowww.  But the important thing, of course, is that we pushed ourselves.

Maybe I’ll try again tonight after Sean’s workout…though I doubt I’ll have energy, looking at the comments from that workout!

  • JoannaKonieczna

Jess is soooo cute ! :)
And .. good to see Zuzka too :)

    Hi Guys,

You all deserve a lot of praise and it was an amazing collaboration with a great deal of time and distance separating you folks.  Zuzka you might want to check the fps and try to match what Freddy was using if possible.

    Jess you are fabulous!

    –Chris

  • V.I.G.

Jess I’m so impressed, you are and cute…..Really inspiring….:)

Nice Job Jess! I liked the fact that your face gets red (still nothing compared to mine…) – but you still looked great and hope to see you again…
Zuzana it’s nice to see you, I don’t care if camera isn’t mooving around you…

and yeah – looking forward to see Sean again!!!!!!

  • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

Ooooh, let me tell you this was SOMETHING!!!
My time is 19:51 and I was really hoping to get it faster! But I noticed (correct me if I am wrong) that Jess was not doing the knee raise at the first exercise? I did (go, me!). I was writing down my time after each set of exercises, so I can see what slowed me down and what I need to work on, so it was like this:
    (time after 50 reps):
    1) Kick Over+LungeBack+Knee Raises (did all 50 at once): 3:40
    2) Half Burpees: 10:30!!! (THESE slowed me down, I really wasn’t good today, haha)
    3) Sandbag Squats: 13:20 (did 2 sets of 25 with a waterbreak in between)
    4) Core Splits: 17:25 (did sets of 10 reps with a tiny fewsecond breaks – ab killer!)
    5) Sandbag Swings: 19:51 (did 2 sets of 20 and 1 set of 10 with a short “arm shakes” between)

So not so great time, but I am still proud that I did it! :) 8am :) Didn’t exercise in the morning for such a long time and I really miss it. Now I am gonna have a shower and I will get ready for a killer day at work! :) My first evening shift today! :) Thank you for this workout. Sweat is all over me, need to go :)

  • tee

stand under the monkey bars and do a kickover, lunge back and then hang from the bars to do knee raise.  same for core split, try to hang from the bars to do them.  If you are beginner squats can be done without weight.  sandbag swings,  you can bring a milk jug full of water with you, then you could drink it after.  or use a couple water bottles, find a rock to pick up etc.  just use your imagination!

  • Anonymous

Well done, Jess! :) So nice to see you stopping during exercises – I am doing so, too, when it’s too exhausting for me to continue. Performing in front of a camera must have felt really strange. Please, share with us your experience! Hope to see you again doing Zuzana’s workouts, and speaking more! ;)
Congratulations on your debut as a new bodyrock star! :)

  • tee

    zuzana filmed herself in L.A

  • tee

    hi riza,
I do a kickover, lunge and then front toe touch.   other times I have split them up.  kickover, lunge do all reps then do 50 reps of knee raises on the floor or off a chair.you can do the core split the same way, either on floor or sit on edge of a chair or high stool and balance yourself by holding on with your hands.  or if you have two surfaces (like 2 stools, or in the corner of a cupboard, or the cupboard and the kitchen table)  and put one hand on each and do the core split that way.

  • Vivi

    Hi
I see this new one too late. I did mine before. An old one “”Hotel room wo”.
So this one will be for tomorrow.

Good job Jess. Good luck in this new way ;)

It’s just a little bit strange to have you both (Zuzka & Freddy) in two different places…But what a pleasure to see you smile Zuzka !!!
And now you say that Sean come back ?!!! Whoot !! In more only new workouts this week!!
I ‘m sure I gonna love this new week !!!

  • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

Zu! I missed you so much! It made my day when I saw you in the video, yay, so happy.
Freddy, just out of curiosity, was it weird to film and push somebody else??? I am so glad you guys came out with this option, otherwise you would have to film yourself, haha.
Jess! Great job here! I was expecting to see more of you and learn more about you, but I am sure we are going to get you know better soon, since this was your first time. See you next time!

It is 7am now, I have my first afternoon shift at work today (well, from 10am to 8pm) so I can do this workout now, just had my breakfast, watched the video, wait for a while (so I am not gonna puke all over the place) and I am gonna go beat one of the scores hopefully! :D

    • ZoeRocker

Good for you Nina! Ha ha! I know that puking feeling after eating and working out. Not a good idea :)

      • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

LOL Zoe, it happened to me once, it was a Hot Mess workout and it stopped me in the middle of it :D I don’t wanna go through that again :D (for that reason I am never gonna forget the name of that workout ever!) :D

        • ZoeRocker

Hahahahahaha!!!! No kidding hot mess!! that’s hilarious! I’ve almost puked but haven’t yet thankfully. Well I hope this time you won’t puke and you’ll beat these fine ladies’ times. Good luck!

        • ZoeRocker

    11/1/11
This workout was awesome, & Jess did great!  Are you guys sponsored by Lululemon, or do you just prefer it?  Maybe I’ll rethink this host thing now that I know it includes a shopping trip!  I already have 2 drawers full of Lululemon…but there’s always cute new things.

Time =   16:27 I really focused on keeping my chest out & reaching up on the 1/2 burpees; thanks Zuzana.   I did the kickover lunges with a knee raise, & held the sandbag (full of 25#) with both hands.  Followed with 20 min skipping broken into 6/6/5/3 min 10/20 sec intervals.  Sandbag swings are SO much harder than the dumbbell swings which I’ve done since March.

I lug my equipment on a 5 min walk from my apartment to the apartment gym (trying to be nice to my downstairs neighbors, & I like the apartment gym patio).  I thought the dip station & fitball was a lot to carry…the sandbag + dip station were like a second workout on the way back!  It’s a pain, but worth it.

Thank you for a great workout!

  • MariaM

GOOD JOB JESS!!! I think she did great for her first time! And we still get to see zuzka! :) Good job you guys, this is gonna be awesome! :) keep it up!!

  • Jazzy

OHH Sean comes on tomorrow…. I do not miss those “Sean’s push-up” Cant wait to see you rock it out Sean!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Maria-Davleeva/100001702041662 Мария Давлеева

Jess you did great!!! it seemed to me that you’ve been a little bit nervous.. Remember you don’t owe anything to us!!!! we are just the bodyrockers, people like you!!! I didn’t even think of comparing you with Zuzka, you are different like all people. While watching the video I kept on saying Go girl!!! you are amazing! thanks for the video!!! the routine looks really brutal and I’m gonna do it and try to beat your scores, both of you guys!!! :-)))
Zuzi it was such a pleasure to see and hear you again!!! I love your videos!!! thanks for appearing in it! BTW, I guess all the feminine part of bodyrockers is waiting for your Face treatment tutorial video)))))  that’s another opportunity to see ya again)))
P.S. What’s there with BR brand tops?????

  • Jazzy

GOOD JOB JESS!!…you look great. man i think if i was to host, i would make some fugly faces and Freddy would have to bleep some parts out. I will do this workout tomorrow, my body wants a rest.

Great to see you Zuzana! Freddy good job on pushing Jess: “Lets go rock it out. you know what the people say about you  on the site? YES to  JESS!

  • KIMBERLAKE93

CANNOT WAIT to do this one tomorrow!!

Jess- You ROCKED it girl!!  Soooo proud of you!!  What a tough position to be in, you did fantastic!  I    doubt the whole “spending 2 hours in LuLuLemon” was a drag though, I’m so jealous of that lol!!  WELCOME again and CONGRATS, you did so so sooooo great!  And I’m SUUUUPER curious how on earth you kept your composure…..the workout looks crazy tough…..I’d have a truckers mouth for sure….. EARMUFFS!!  lol

Freddy- Awesome hearing your voice again on the video!  And you are too cute with how much you supported her, I luvs it!!  :)

Zuzka- SOooooo happy to see you lots in the video!  Selfishly for me/us, it seems like it’s gonna be a lot easier to adjust to the changes on the site cause YOU’RE still so active in the video portion of everything.  I really think this is a fantastic idea for BODYROCKERS to lead us through these routines, makes the site so much more exciting!  Positive changes for sure…..but still thinking of you and Freddy LOTS.  I keep a picture of the two of you on my phone as my screensaver (kinda creepy but it’s all with a good heart and lotsa LUV!  Hahahaha)  Sending the two of you lots of strong & happy energy daily!!  Thoughts and prayers go out to the both of you!

Sean- I’ve yet to see a video with you yet so I’m looking forward to this week!  I started BodyRocking at the end of March 2011……so either I missed the workout vids you were in or they were prior to that.  I’m sure the workouts this week are tough as hell but I KNOW they’ll be easy on the eyes…..bahahahahahaha!  Just sayin’.  LOL

    Luv to you all!!
    CHEERS!  xoxoxoxo  :)

    • KIMBERLAKE93

BLAAAAAAAAAH!!!!  Soooo disappointed in my time….. 17:07.

My Dip Station is being delivered as I write this and I KNOW my time would’ve been better if I had the proper equipment.  I did the “Core Splits” on my pull up bar and my lordy….sooo much harder….utilizing smaller muscles in the forearms plus I was slipping off the pull up bar quite frequently wasting lots of time  :(

Next time, my score will be so much better!
      5 daily burpees too!
Have a great day BODYROCKERS!!!  SMILE! :)  CHEERS!

Yay, first full workout back without major modifications!!
After a knee injury 18 days ago swelling and bruising has greatly reduced and with it strapped I managed this workout enough to get a good sweat and burn..yay!!
i did kick over knee raises without the lunge back (as it didn’t feel good) and squats as low as i could get without a sandbag and sandbag swing was with a 5kg bag (normally 11kg) and everything else was with proper form! My time: 13m 49s

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

O-Kay!  I just did this workout, and let me tell you, Jess, you did an INCREDIBLE job!  I figured I would get in the 14-min range but NO…I got 17:59.  And I’ve been BR-ing for a while now (5 mos), so I’m no chump.

Now, I DID do the extra knee lift that Zuzana did in the tutorial…a lot people mentioned how Jess just did the leg over and lunge, but Zuzana added a knee lift after that.  So that might have added on time.  Plus, I took Zuzana’s advice to heart and reeeeaaallly made a nice jump up in the burpees (it was hard!), and I went on a 3.5 mile run beforehand.

But still.  Jess got a good 4 minutes less than me, so that means I have to kick her butt next time I do this! ;)

Fantastic job, Jess!  I love seeing you do the workouts.  You seem like a really cool, down-to-earth lady, and I think you fit perfectly in to BodyRock.  Congrats!!!

  • Michellekay76

    Good job! Well done!

  • Lvette #1

For a first run, a perfect balance was achieved.
Jess you were glorious …yes to Jess for sure.
Zuzana you were brilliant as usual … hail to the queen.
Maestro Freddy, I salute you … top notch. Bravo!!

I liked that Zuzana introduced  Jess on this video, it was a good way to pass the torch. If Jess is willing and comfortable speaking in front of the  camera then I feel she should do the introduces to her following  videos. Loved Zuzana in her new role, genius for her  doing the tutorial at the end …that segment is a definite keeper on all videos.

Judging from this video, I look forward to this new era of BodyRock.Tv.  In  Freddy’s and Zuzana’s vision I trust.

Merci , Zuzana; Freddy  and Jess.

    • Mmghia

Well said especially ‘hail to the queen’ Loved it!! Congrats to all Zuzka, Freddy and Jess great start I’m sure it will only get better.

I think we need to make a workout to this song! I love it! Maybe Jess can come up with something??? :)

Welcome Jess! You did an amazing job. Hi Zuzka! I sure do miss you. I completed this workout with the knee raises in 13 minutes. Awesome workout.

Hi Sean, looking forward to seeing you again! Such a warm and genuine guy. Love you!

  • Elle

I am just so happy and excited to see you Zuzka! I hope you can continue doing the tutorials at least every now and then. Great job Jess!!!!

  • Heath

Took me 19:48. Jess beat me by a lot.

  • http://www.youasamachine.com You As A Machine

This BR workout wasn’t up earlier today when I did mine so I chose one of my own combos, I call it Tabata Face-Off.

3 Parts of 4 Minute Tabatas (short rest between Parts just enough to catch my breath)

    Part 1: 8 Rounds, 10 sec. Rest + 20 sec.max effort/reps
    Mountain Climbers: 55 – 54 – 55 – 55 – 55 – 55 – 56 – 55

Part 2: set timer as above
Squat + Side Hop + Side Step Lunge: 6 sets each round

Part 3: set timer as above
    Kick Ups: 34 – 33 – 33 – 33 – 33 – 34 – 34 – 36

    4×100 skipping + 30 Minutes Ashtanga Yoga Standing Postures + first 4 seated + backbends + close.

Last time I did this was in January, I made some good improvements except I can’t seem to do any more than 6 sets of the Squat + Side Hop + Side Step Lunge in 20 seconds!

  • Anonymous

i loved this workout!! my ass feels great! hahaha

  • Sarah Spencer

GRR!!! I have no dips station!! I’m sad…

    • Alana6

use 2 chairs and just lunge back and knee raise if you can’t kick over them

  • Gangster1

Great to see Jess on camera for the first time for the workouts. I just want to point out that when I watched one of my very first bodyrock videos it was one of Zuzanna’s originals and she was so camera shy and not the champ she is today. EVERYONE starts somewhere, and that being said Jess is beautiful and talented and pretty badass for a starting place. Bravo. Excited to see how this will progress!

  • Amanda

it says that we’re doing a new workout, so I guess we just have to wait until they post it tomorrow.

  • Vicko García

Great job Jess ! you are so pretty and Glad to know about Zuzana and Freddy, thank you !

You rock, Jess!  Thanks!  Great job!  You’re a very courageous and fit woman, beautiful and strong, and I’m happy to follow you.
I’m glad to see Zuzana, too… thanks for the tutorial.

YES to JESS! Those gorgeous blue eyes could pierce through Brutus’ soul in a second! I think I just heard him crap his pants, running out the back door… Wait… Oh, yep. He’s gone.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/empowart Jessica Lynn

      lol! :)

  • Courtney

Yay Jess! I’m glad to see you exercise with a lot of grunts and sweat, like I do. Fantastic job on your first workout. Keep rockin’ it!

    • Courtney

I’m a little disappointed with my time. The half burpees killed me! I did this in 21:41, plus a burpee for Erin.

  • Anonymous

Yay Ashley this is the first time I’ve seen you post! This is Corey!!!

  • Anonymous

Me too!! Also in response to this – I’m having trouble getting my sandbag to hold a good shape. All of the sand shifts to the left or right making it hard to work with and it’s not all sturdy looking like Zuzka’s. Help!

  • CanadianBushPilot

Good job Jess!!  like a boss.

Where have I been? I’m pretty sure I haven’t missed this many wrkouts (even though I supplement my routine w/these wrkout plans) but who is Sean? Geez I feel left out lol o_O

    • tee

sean is freddy’s brother, and he worked out with zuzana back in 2010  march maybe? or maybe it was 2009?

  • Nicole Elsholz

AWW FREDDY!   IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR YOUR VOICE ON A VIDEO AGAIN.  :)

      thanks! :)

    • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

YEAH IT DID !!! LOL :D

  • abby

    Good job jess!!

  • Eliane

Actually there are 2 differences, for the 1st exercise, Jess does a kick over and a backward lunge, but Zuzana adds a knee raise. Also for the sandbag swing, Jess uses one arm but Zuzana uses both, it’s just a bit confusing. Jess still did a great job though!

    • Sabrina

I was going to post the same thing but then I figured I would see if someone else had posted it first. I am now wondering what I will do, half of me (brutus) is saying if Jess didnt do knee raises I dont have to either! But I probably will add them since I am a slave to what Zuzanna says :)
      YES TO JESS!
      Sabs.

    • Evren

Come on guys these are 2 very minor differences. Use of initiative and modifications to suit personal abilities or preferences have always been advocated by Zuka ( as long as form is not compromised of course). I have seen Zuzana use just one hand for the swings before in other workouts and if you want to add the knee…knock yourself out!  I think it’s a bit harsh on Jess to criticise. She is after all doing a workout designed by someone else and she hasn’t watched the tutorial before doing the workout!!! GREAT JOB JESS

that being said I do like that Zuzka pointed out imperfections in form. I think thats almost like getting an interactive personal training session……we can see it being done with some imperfection and know when we are doing it imperfectly ourselves and aim to correct ourselves.

I think this is all just great. I had no doubt it would be!

All bubbles no troubles folks, have a good day x

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Welbeloved-Akulas/100000592647853 Welbeloved Akulas

What is this Zuzka? When I 1st saw it I thought it was a type-O…

  • Woahdessa

She’s a very pretty girl : ) Good job, Jess! I’m sure it was pretty nerve cracking!

  • Yoga_forhealth

Hi, this is the first time I have posted.  Been following along now for a couple of months.  Just wanted to say I love Zuzana and no one can replace her BUT watching Jess’s first workout made me realise what a great choice she is to lead the workouts.  I immediately got a feeling of genuiness from her and for that i love her already too!!

  • http://twitter.com/IttyBittyImpact Tonia

Great job, Jess! Can’t wait to try this workout tomorrow! Looks brutal, I love it.

  • Laura Dial

YEAH Jess! It makes me feel better to see someone else going through these workouts.

Zuzana, I love, love and Love see you back in front of the camera, you make my life shine/exciting,sorry, I am elderly female. I am not sure I could be inspired without you,   I am super excited now to get back workout! after hearing your power up voice  and  seeing your peaceful inner strength,   I will do burpee for you everyday!!!!!!  I was soooo happy to see you in the video!. Great! It seems like people want to see Sean again :)

    • KIMBERLAKE93

      …..kinda……lol

    • Liliya

indeed Freddy!! And it would really be nice to see you doing some exercises in the workout too :)
      love love

  • tee

Zuz has been doing that lately, she probably just forgot as she’s not used to filming herself, and trying to remember everything!

  • tee

I think this was so cool, with both Zuzana and Jess on the video,  I think they both did such a good job!  As well as Freddy!

    Loved seeing you again Zuz!
You are so brave Jess!  You did awesome!  I listened to this video with headphones on and could hear your breathing start shaking with the effort!  Those core splits are nasty buggers! (Plus I would not want anyone filming me doing them!) Good pushing through!

    Can’t wait for Sean tomorrow!

I also think the guest host should say a little more, just because its a little “impersonal” (I don’t know if that is the correct word, for what I mean)  to just start with her working out and then ending with time.  I’m not sure what she should say,  maybe just say hi to the bodyrockers and wave or something, and say lets do this!  Or something!  Ha Ha!  Or maybe she could say who she is and where she’s from and how long she’s been rockin’.   So in the future when someone looks at the video they know something about the guest host.

    love ya guys!

  • Anonymous

Thanks Jess, you did great!!! That takes courage to step up and host after zuzka, thats a tough act to follow. I admire your bravery, you were awesome!!!

  • irreverend

good job Jess- was very excited to see you filmed in the livewell centre where I have had a couple of training sessions. The kinesiologist there was impressed when I told her that I am a committed bodyrocker. Very excited to have a new workout up. Did an old one today after my run but will give this one a shot tomorrow. Thanks for all you do you guys.  I hope this strikes the right balance for all concerned! Also, so grateful to know that we can all keep bodyrocking!

  • Tawni Nordstrand

Jess!! You did an amazing job!  It takes so much courage to get in front of the camera like you did. You are such an inspiration to us all :o) It was so good to see you again Zuzana! We have missed you madley! Looking forward to this new chapter. Excited to see how Sean takes it on tomorrow!

WOW, Jess, I’m impressed.  I said you did well before I did the routine.  Now after, my esteem of you goes up.

    18min & 18 seconds.  What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, right…………..anyone?   :)

Good work Freddy, Zuz & Jess for putting this together.  For those who are stating that there are some differences in Zuzka’s & Jess’s routine and want Zuz doing the workouts again, give it a go.  This is the first one, there is always going to be fine tuning to do & some room for improvement.

  • Anonymous

    Heck Yes!!!! Well done Jess.

  • elisa

Jess, you did a magnificent job!  It was good to see Zuzanna also in the tutorial.  Thank you Freddy.  Can’t wait to see the rest of the workouts.

  • Siriuslysaucy422

Jess you did a great job! I hope we get to hear/learn more about you. Looking forward to your next workout. In the mean time, I can’t wait to see Sean’s workout :=) This was a great idea Z & F. Loving the awesomeness of our new BR trajectory

As someone who is about to be a physical therapist I think it is important that Zuzana continues to show the proper technique, most training injuries occur from poor technique and Zuzana’s advise and technique is on point 99% of the time even when she is tired.  As others step in whose form is not as impeccable it is important to have that connect to avoid contributing to injuries.
I commend Jess for stepping in, so this is not a criticism of her more so than that the general population will have technique deficits.  I personally love this site because Zuzana is so hellbent on proper form no matter how tired she gets, please continue this shining example with all guest hosts:-).

  • Anonymous

yay I love this workout:) it looks exciting, as always, and cooldos to Jess for her first workout:)) she did a great job! And hehe I’m so glad to see Zuzka explaining to us the workout in detail. I kinda miss hearing her talk on video :p Shall bodyrock soon and look forward to more workouts this week:))

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=706388249 Tori Larson Bradford

Great job everyone!  Jess that had to have been nerve racking.  Great job.  Zuzana, it was so nice to see you too.  If we have to have someone new I really like this format.  I can’t wait to try the workout tomorrow.

  • GG

    Zuzana,
Please do the work out video, it’s confussing since Jess does differently.
I know your difficult situations but we are missing something here seriously!

    • Isabelle G.

Oh, come on!  You know what?  Zuzka is doing what she thinks is best for her.  For her life.  Is it so difficult to understand?  And Jess is the wonderful bodyrocker who is leading us for now!  Just follow Zuzana’s advice with the tutorial, and you won’t be wrong.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_OXENO5XUZJUVSKFFJZE5W2MTOU Irina

      Dear GG,
I hear you and understand you! But maybe we  haver to understand Zuzi as well) It is her decision and we need to respect it!!! What I do- is I watch her older routines and do them with her – there are plenty on this site – you can do this once in a while when you do miss Zuzana!!!) And I think when some time passes by, we will get used to new rules…new hosts… We will love it and appreciate it! That’s life and it’s moving on! Let’s rock it together for Zuzana!!!!!!!!!!

    • ZoeRocker

I think perhaps there was a a small miscommunication. I really don’t think its a “huge” difference. So Jess missed out on a knee raise or fifty… so what! They are miles and miles apart! I think the fact that they even got it together is a great success! Its a first time video. There will be more to come and they will only get better!!

  • ZoeRocker

Jess you did a great job! I really enjoyed watching you push through. Zuzka!!!!!! I was soooo happy to see you in the video! I think it is really great that you are still doing the tutorial and modifications for beginners. You are a huge inspiration and I think it is important to everyone to see you. I can’t wait to try this workout. I can’t wait to see Sean sweat it out tomorrow. I really like the workouts that he did with Zuz before.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/empowart Jessica Lynn

      Thanks so much ZoeRocker! :)

  • Anonymous

Good to see you Jess !:)) You did great ! Really ! It was a lot of “new” for you, but you are a great bodyrocker !
Zuzka ! I am so glad to see you ! You look happy ! As I said in a previous message, you shine when you do this and you should never stop doing it .
Freddy, great job, young man ! Looking forward to see Sean breaking some sweat :D.
You all have my full support and for the next 2 weeks I am going to watch you, and watch you only that is, because I injured a hip and I am supposed to rest for at least 2 weeks and then start slowly to train again. Once again, not stretching properly comes at a very high price to me.
All the bests to you guys ! Keep rocking !

  • Anonymous

And please clarify if we are supposed to do a lift following the kickover and lunge on the first exercise.  Jess didn’t do one, but Zuzana demonstrated that way.

  • Shannon Forsyth

Welcome Jess! I am excited to try this tomorrow.  I gave thought to hosting one of the videos then halfway through one of the workouts, huffing and puffing and almost falling over, I decided it takes a BRAVE person to do this for all the world to see!   Great job!

  • Maja

    Jess is amazing! LOVE her

  • KateM

I love this format!  It’s really great to see other people doing the workout, you get a sense of just how difficult they are, get to see different body types and we still get Zuzana’s tutorial.
Great job Jess, I can’t imagine how anxious I would feel.

  • Benzogexonii

The best thing – we can see you Zuzka!!!! We missed you so much!!!!

    • Lily Zinchuk

I absolutely agree! I was SO thrilled to see Zuzka will b in each of the new workouts….Jess did an amazing job and was sweating bullets which I loved :D She is really cute. But to tell the truth I havnt been inspired at all to workout the last week or two. To tell the truth I felt like no one was pushing me. :( But today seeing Zuzka and her happy face and hearing her adorable voice really re-inspired me! I will continue to push and try to match or beat Zuzka’s scores and get in shape for the best holidays of the year! Thank you SO so so so much Zuzka! Your truly an inspiration and a beautiful loving soul!

  • Anonymous

Welcome Jess!  You did an amazing job.  I’m sure it took a lot of courage.  I agree with other posters that we want more screen time with you and to hear you speak!

  • kat

It was Great seeing you Zuzka =) Hang in there Jess!!  Thanks for being the first Bodyrock Host!

  • Anonymous

Great job, Jess! I’d love to hear Jess speak a little as well (if she’s comfortable, that is) Maybe Jess could do the first intro?. In a perfect world I’ve love to see Jess and Zuzka in the workout tutorial together, but of course that’s not possible. Also, this is not a criticism, but some of the exercises were different in the video and tutorial. Someone else pointed out the lack of knee raise in the kick over dip station combo, but also the sandbag swing: Jess did it using one-hand, Zuzana used both hands.
Overall, it’s great to have some different hosts, I just wish there was more a sense of connectedness between the two presenters.

  • Anonymous

Great job Jess :) Thats no easy feat first doing a workout like that, but then having it videoed for all of us.  Thanks :)

Thanks also Zuzka for giving us the proper form.  It was good to see she commented on a Jess’s burpee, telling us about the proper form (Jess, that was something I do as well)

  • Sass

I look like Jess when I do these workouts. LOL! It’s kinda good to see a “regular” person try out a Zuzana beast workout. Can’t wait to get my chance! I was so happy to see Zu in the video…keep doing these!!! Good work Jess. I saw that Fred took it easy on you…I didn’t hear too many pushes from him. Can’t wait to see the other workouts.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

Jess did an AWESOME job!  So great to have you on board, Jess!  I hope next time we get to hear a little more from you!

I think I may do this workout tonight…we shall see!

  • Candygirl777

Great video with Zuzka demonstrating the proper form & beginner tutorial, complimented by Jess’ “bodyrocker execution” – already looking forward to tomorrow with Sean!!

  • Anza Hacker&Lee

It’s great to see Jess as a new host. She did a great job! I hope she will get some more talk time in videos as well that we could really get to know her better :o) …and off course can’t wait to see Sean again – I absolutely loved those workouts that He did with Zuzka and was wondering if He will be back some day.

    • Anonymous

His workout is going to be posted tomorrow. He has been bodyrocking for a year now. He is very good now!!

    • Lila Alejandra ♥

I also was wondering when Sean would be back! I had such a great time when I saw Zuzanita and Sean in the videos together. Zuzana kicked his butt LoL!! Can´t wait to see him tomorrow and his progress. We love you Zuzanita!!

Great job Jess, you already look like a pro!!

      Greetings from Mexico!! :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/ashley.roy2 Ashley Roy

I’ve been so excited for this all day! I stopped doing one of the old workouts halfway through just cuz I was worried this would come on right after- and it did! Jess- you did awesome!
I realize now how hard this workouts must look to other people now that we’re seeing a normal person and not Zuzana doing them ;) haha

  • Tont38

I did notice that.  I also think Jess did a good job.  Maybe this will not be so bad.  I was very happy to see Zuzana giving the instructions at the end.   Cant wait to do this in the morning.

  • Margot

Yay for a new workout!  I’m gonna get right on it!

  • Penny

Jess, where you nervous! I would have been! D: If you were nervous you overcame it and did a good job! It’s a good thing we have so many nice people here (especially Zuzka and Freddy) so you won’t be deprecated.
I too want to see you talk more. =)And thankyou Zuzka for the tutorial! It was less of a shock with you still in the video.

  • http://renajoy.com Rena Phillips

Good one Jess! You handled it just like a pro! :-)

  • Lucie

Great vid!:) Nice to see Zuzka again. Jess was awesome! I wouldnt handle working out while being recorded! Plus I would be freaking out about the number of views its going to get – so many people watching! So.. she was really good! Thanx Jess for taking time to shoot the vid for us!

  • Mariealoria

A little introduction would be nice. Great workout.

  • aniaPL

That was awesome, Jess! Your first workout! Congrats! And keep it up!

    Zuzka, I MISS YOU!!!!!!!! :*

  • laura

Cant wait to do this workout tomorrrow! It looks fun and its just what I’m looking for!

  • Liliya

Thank you so much for the tutorial video, Zuzka ^.^
Adore watching you in the videos and can’t really imagine not seeing you doing or at least showing the way how to do a workout :) lol you’re amazing! xx
Great job, Jess and congrads on your first bodyrock workout video!! yay! :)
    love – love :}

  • Julia A.

Very well done Jess!!!! I’d been rather falling into my bed after such a day than doing such a great workout in a very good form. Congrats! And keep going. Its nice to hear Freddy’s voice in the videos by the way. I think that creates a nice atmophsphere in the videos.

Keep on rocking. Zuzana, Jess and Freddy! :)

  • Jacowley

Good job Jess!  You really worked hard and it takes a lot of courage to do what you are doing.  Keep it up and I look forward to seeing you in the next video.

  • BodyRocker Angela :)

Nice work Jess!! :) I’m looking forward to this workout tomorrow!

  • Gerrilee Schafer

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Nice camera work and of course, great explanation from Zum Zum….keep them coming…think I wore out my refresh key today…lol

  • Myfoursonz

Wonderful job, Jess! They sure started you out with a brutal one, didn’t they??!!

Zuzana you look absolutely stunning. I sure have missed your workouts! Thanks to you all!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QJJI6SPNRUINPFKBU6S6TX6LJI Pav

I want to see more of her! It was a short clip with Jess and I would like to hear her talk a little! I know you have to give time to Zuzana in the clips, but it felt like Jess’s time on camera was cut bit too short. This is just my opinion, but I think she is beautiful and she rocked it like a champ! YES TO JESS!

    • BODYROCK JUNCKIE

Roger that Pav, YES TO JESS!  Awesome!!!  That’s all I can say :)   I think that under the circumstances of all these changes, you guys are doing a great job even via long distance!!  Wish you all the best!!  Freddy, Zuzka, Jess, & Shawn, keep up the fantastic work.
Jess, I think you’ll be a total pro in no time, you did a great job, AMAZING!!!
      BEST REGARDS,
      BODYROCK JUNCKIE

Don’t be shy, Jess ! Just be yourself !
If this is any help, I do some of the workouts at the gym, where many people walk around and looking like “whoa, lady ! what are you doing there ?”. But after the first 2 minutes, when I start sweating like a river and I need to pace my breath, I don’t even see them anymore. It’s just me and the timer. And my Ipod :D.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YRMLC7QLHYZ4Q3ZKCJOH2EZLMQ agnes

        You are so brave!
I was thinking about Bodyrocking at the gym, but I’m just too shy for that. It’s silly, i know, there is nothing to be afraid of, but I wouldn’t be able to fully focus on my workout. Still I hope one day I will make it

        • Anonymous

Agnes, the first couple of times I was a bit self-conscious. And some people do look funny at you anyways, but I came to the point where I don’t care. It works for me, it’s good for me, that’s all it matters.
I actually go in a corner where I think not many people can see me, but there were times when my corner was taken and I worked out on a little spot next to the running track, where the whole gym could see me. Having the Ipod and listening to some interesting stuff on it really helps ( I usually listen to lectures ). So between paying attention to my exercises, the timer and the Ipod, there’s nothing left for the people who would watch.
It’s a big gym and many people do their own thing , so after a while, I’m just “the one that works out in the corner”. The weirdest thing is probably the way I breath ( ha ha ), because with the earphones and the timer, I not trying to control the level of noise at all. But then again, when I hear other guys groaning and moaning when they lift weights, I actually sound pretty decent.
Really, if the gym is the only place in time and space where you can have a workout, my advice is “dance like nobody’s watching “. Good luck !

        • Bachondo

The same happens to me Agnes! I’m really shy, and so the first time I had to bpdyrock in my gym  I was soooo embarrased! But then one of the trainers start staring at me, and then he said: Hey! is that bodyrock??? And I was sweating, and couldn’t stop (it was a time challenge), and was only able to nod to him! So he congratulated me and gave me a couple of tips about some movements I was failing on, so at the end it was a really good thing! and I didn’t felt shy any longer!

        • Anonymous

Nobody came to ask me anything yet at the gym, but when I teach my aerobic classes many ladies came to ask me how long it took me to get a body like that, or what do I do to have such toned arms and I have been recommending this website like the best thing ever happened to me.
Thing is most of the people working out at the gym are guys…but let me tell you… it’s quite interesting, I have seen some guys I can learn stuff from and that’s the fun thing for me when I go to the gym. I see some of them doing bodyweight exercises I have never seen before.
I also workout at home, but going to the gym allows me to have a workout without having the kids running around my legs while I do burpees and also gives me the variety of having some extra equipment which I don’t have at home.
But to be honest with you guys, I really go by “dance like nobody’s watching”, I am not just preaching it. Life is way too short to care about what others might think of you. And being healthy and fit is the best thing I can give myself and to my family. Because when I am healthy and fit, i am the best of me; I am happier, think clearer, I am energetic, all  good things.
So yeah…don’t be shy, just rock it ! :)

          • Charlie D.

That’s such really great advice.  I have a hard time trying to squeeze in workouts and I know that part of that is my schedule, but I also know that part is not wanting to look weird in front of people.  You’re going to be my inspiration this week.  Thanks.

    • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

Im a  bit disspointed… I really wanted to hear Jess… I thought she supposed to lead the WO? :)

      <3 BR Beth

      • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

I also felt disappointed a bit, but I feel like I am torn apart :D Half of me wants to see MORE JESS, hear her, see her, get to know her personality, but my other half begs for Zuzana to be the only one doing BR workouts! :D This is so hard :D

        • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

yeah LOL… it’s yoiu donn’a know who’s better/more suitable for you? :D Im feelin’ the same.
It’s time to let Jess talk to us :) we would know nothing if we won’t give her the try, Im sure she comed w/ something to say for us ! maybe it’s a good start, just to see her visually & not immediately throw on her everything too “responsibility” etc… I hope we would meet her again :)

Great day – you Nina & All bodyrockers !!! !!!

          <3 BR Beth

          • http://makavelina.mplicka.cz/ Nina_CZ

Well to be honest, I am pretty sure who is more suitable for me :D
I really like Jess, but a) I am used to Zuzana, b) My body will never look like Jess’s, her body is gorgeous, but I think Zuzana has a more similar bodytype as I do, I am petite too and since we are both Czech Girls, we still have some nice curves even though we lose weight, haha, and c) Zuzana (and Freddy too) helped me to be where I am now. But I would LOVE to learn more about Jess and her story, her life and her background! :) But if I have to pick, my choice is quite clear :D

Great day to you, Beth!!! :)

You have a great body jess! It will be easy for me to get used to see you do some workouts :)

Wow, Jess you knocked those out like a boss. :) Thanks for your effort! ^_^

  • Melissa P.

Great Job Jess! I know I definitely would have buckled under the pressure and you pushed through beautifully!

Is it just my computer or was the video quality off?

so glad to have new workouts back up and cant wait to start bodyrocking on daily basis after volleyball season is over tomorrow.  I will send u before and after pics soon!
(it still breaks my heart to see zuz alone but im so glad we get to see her still)

  • Miss Ram

We love you Jess! thanks so much for pushing through! So encouraging!

  • http://aphrodiitee.deviantart.com/ Isidora

Good work jess!! This workout looks fun! theres only one thing im worried. In the first exercise, Jess forgot to do the knee raise. am i wrong? i saw zuzana’s instruction and she did it with a knee raise…

anyway great job all of you!

    • Anonymous

I noticed that too!  I’m glad to see Zuzana….especially explaining each exercise.  Overall, considering that Jess is new to all of this…she really did a great job!  Must have been sooooo nerve-wrecking!!!!  I could only imagine!
You know, I really didn’t know what to expect with all the changes that have been going on lately…..however, I think that it’s all going on quite smoothly….and there’s bound to be some hiccups and bumps in the round in this new journey….great job everybody!!!!
