Good Feeling Workout

Hi BodyRockers,

Jess here :) I just wanted to take the time to thank so many of you for your support and encouragement over the last couple weeks as I set out on this new and exciting path as a BodyRock host. There is so much that I still have to learn and I ask for your patience while I get comfortable in front of the camera :) My time in Kingston with Freddy and Sean has been awesome, as I am sure many have gathered from some of the photos and posts we have shared on Facebook. They have made me feel right at home and have taken the time to show me around. Kingston is beautiful! I also spoke with Zuz this past weekend who continues to inspire me on a daily basis. She was really sweet and encouraged me to just relax and be myself. I really appreciated our conversation :)

Zuz and Freddy are obviously the driving force of BodyRock and not matter who hosts the workouts, nothing is going to change that. I am so thankful to both of them for providing me with this incredible opportunity.

With that said, I am so excited to take my fitness to the next level and push harder than ever before. As a fellow BodyRocker, I too am trying to be the best me I can be. This journey has been incredible and I am so proud to look back and see how I have grown. There is so much I still want to accomplish… and this is just the beginning. I also recently created an Athletes page on Facebook through which I hope to interact with you guys on a regular basis and act somewhat as a forum for discussion and inspiration. If you’re interested, you can Like my page here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jessica-Lynn-BodyRockTv-Host/289911214366574. Feel free to say hi, ask questions and share your stories.

I look forward to training with you this week!

Jess

Have fun with this workout and do a Burpee for Erin – she wrote me today that she is at the hospital but everything is going well. She’s always in a good mood which I totally admire her for. This is what she wrote:

Hey! Just wanted to forward you this photo of me getting ready to start my stem cell collection! It will take 5 hours each day and maybe 2-3 days to get the amount I need. First step though!

Radiation therapy to my chest all next week and getting admitted into hospital on the 18th. Chemo on the 19th and 20th. Full body radiation 21st-23rd. The night of the 23rd I get my stem cells back and then I just stay in the hospital until my numbers go up (2-4 weeks).

Long road ahead, but at least there is a direction! Wish me luck!

Erin

Let’s dedicate this workout to her.

Best,

Zuzka

For some reason, today’s workout video almost makes me tear up a little bit.  I guess it makes me a little sad that Zuzana was not in it.  It’s like, the thing that you help build, and now you’re slowly not going to be a part of it anymore.  Sorry guys, I know their lives are not my business, and I know I will still keep BodyRocking, it’s just that I have been following them for quite a while now and the whole thing just makes me a little sad. It seems bittersweet.

    • Jace Daley

bittersweet? explain the sweet part to me because im just not getting it.

    • tee

      canadian!

      • Anonymous

Canada is in North America. I mean that she seems to be an “american” (or “canadian”) type of girl – that’s less close to me, than Zuzana. For others it may be the other way)

        • tee

I know that, but we canadians don’t like to be called “americans”,  north americans is OK though.

I’ve been wondering if freddy is going to be travelling around & filming bodyrockers from other countries.  I would find that interesting, since I’ve never been anywhere so have not met a lot of people from other countries!

          • Anonymous

Ah, sorry! I’m not well-informed about this american-canadian stuff, cause I’m far from there.

Yes, that would be very interesting, I think Z & F will tell us about it.

Fantastic, very impressive Sean and Jess. I think you are bringing some fresh new spirit to BodyRockTV.
And it seems like Sean is making Jess feel really comfortable…they both are so sweet:)

  • Anonymous

Can’t wait to do this one today! Great job you guys! Jess you definitely seem more confident and comfortable in front of the camera.
I really miss seeing Zuzka do the tutorial. I kinda looked forward to seeing her.. :( Hope we hear from her soon, some coffee talk or post of hers..
All the best to all of you! I’ll post my scores later when I finish the workout.

  • tee

    where’s zuzana? :(

  • tee

OK sean, explain why you are wearing your timer on your crotch!

looks like a good workout!  a couple moves there you really need to make sure you are holding your core really strong or it might be a little hard on your back.  the punch out with the ball you will really need to hold core strong, also when you are in the side lunge it is really hard not to lean forward and with that weight on your shoulder could be hard on lower back.  please make sure core is super tight!  and jess, make sure you squat down to pick up your bag off the floor!

I thought jess did a really good job, and its nice to see her talking!  She seemed a lot more comfortable this time!

It’s nice to hear news from erin!  she looks absolutely beautiful!

I was really sad not to see any zuzana in the video, other than the picture at the top.  I really look forward to seeing her.

    love you guys!

  • Jace Daley

I think Jess is great and she is doing a good job at trying, but its big shoes to fill. I really have tried to enjoy the change and embrace it but I can only be honest in sayng that the drive is not there anymore, its like watching someone elses random home video. I can understand that its a difficult time, but as a voice in the BR community, I can catagorically say that this is a potential disaster for me, I have lost most, if not all my motivation. I am not trying to make this any more difficult for you guys than it already is, please hear me, I love you guys to bits and truly want to be supportive but I feel like I have been emotionally manipulated and forced into being ok with all of this ad Im just not. Zuzana I MISS YOU!

    • Anonymous

Hi! I think that if you lack motivation, then your motivation to workout wasn’t your own motivation. It’s so easy to point at someone else if you stop working out, sticking to your diet, studying etc. The fact that the site is changing should not affect your training or any decision made, concidering healthy living. I’m sorry to say so, but it’s childish to complain and moan about wanting Zuzana ‘back’. If you really embraced what she’s been teaching all these years, then replacing a host isn’t something that you should be focusing on. It’s like if she decided to replace Charlie for another dog and you’d be complaining about it, saying you want Charlie back. I don’t mean to equate people and dogs, I just want to give an example of how all this sounds. Jace, this post is not meant just for you, but for all bodyrockers that feel in similar way. Regards, M

      • Anonymous

BTW I really enjoyed watching Jess pushing hard and the whole video is very energetic. Keep on doing so! :)

      • Jace Daley

your opinion on the matter is of no importance to me but thanks for your 2 cents worth. I am happy for you that you can be so detatched from the entire situation and that you can see this as just a site and Zuzana as just a host, but BodyRock is more than that to me, Zuzana is more than that to me.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, its unadvisable to make a direct attack on someones persona without knowing a thing about them.
        have yourself a good week.

        • Anonymous

My intention was not to be offensive. But like I said – your motivation should derive from within, not from changes that occur daily (on the outside). I see you’re emotional about this, I understand. But the site IS changing. Sooner you accept it, the better you can feel about it. Or not. That’s entirely up to you. Have a nice day.

          • Jace Daley

I appreciate your optimism, thank you, and your above comment would have been helpful if not for its obviousness … if you could just refer to my initial comment, I have honestly and truly tried to accept and embrace the change but as Im sure as any intelgent individual has gathered, im finding it quite difficult. you have to understand that I have been following Zuzana from when she first started, so I apologize if i am unable to just get over it, Its a massive adjustment and it does affect my motivation… my apologies if that bugs you.

      • Isabelle G.

Hi!  I think this is unfair to Zuz, and to Freddy.  It’s totally possible that you don’t like it as much as you did, but that’s not the point!!!  I absolutely love Zuzka, and I still do even when I don’t see her!!  Hey, if we like her, we want the best for her!  And appart from that, you still have the opportunity to be in the best shape you can be, even if Zuzana is not in the mood anymore to do it…..!  You know, they could have decided to stop the movement completely, stop the videos, the workouts, etc…
I feel privileged to still be a part of this movement.  I’m glad they didn’t let us down!  I thank them for that!  It’s a great gift, I hope you can enjoy it too……

        • Jace Daley

I have absolutely nothing against anyone who is enjoying the change, thats all fine and dandy, in fact im happy for you.. but its not an easy thing for me, why is that not ok? How is me missing Zuzana unfair? Im not forcing my feelings on anyone, its not like im planning a revolt.
Its not the same and Im not loving it. Im sorry that my feelings dont conform to the movement and arent in accordance with yours.

          • Isabelle G.

Yes, I can understand.  Your feelings are o.k., that’s for sure.  Not my intention to hurt you, or anyone else.  I wish you a good day, and I hope it’s gonna be easier for you to “enjoy” the new format soon!

          • Jace Daley

            thanks.

          • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

Hi Jace.  I totally understand, and I think it’s totally reasonable to reach out to fellow BodyRockers about these feelings.  I admit, it’s not comfortable.  I went through a week of serious funk myself, and though there were some other things going on in my life, I honestly think the catalyst for the whole thing was this whole BodyRock change.  It’s a big deal, and I understand if it bums you out.  I’m sorry if others are criticizing you–you were honest and not antagonistic at all in your statement.  If it helps, I think of it like this–I came to BodyRock in late May.  Now to me, all was fine and dandy, but of course Z and F have a lot more going on in their lives than they share with us, so they were actually dealing with a lot then.  And now, it’s news to us, and we’re getting use to a change, but I’m assuming all this has been months in the making for them, and so I trust that all will be well.  I miss Z too, but she’ll be back!  I like to think that she’s filling her days with wonderful activities, and more importantly–taking any time she needs.

Anyway, just wanted you to know I’m sorry you’re bummed out, and I hope it gets better for you.  :)

          • Jace Daley

Thank you Kendra, it does help :) Its nice to know that im not alone in this boat xx

    • Lila Alejandra ♥

I totally agree! I´m still bodyrocking of course and I´m still feeling great about my workouts, but it´s just not the same!!!! We miss Zuzanita so much. Good job to Sean, Jess and Freddy, I know you are doing the best for the site but I hope you understand and do not take it the wrong way. :( :( Changes are harder for some than others. Eventually I guess we will get used to the new changes :( :(

      • Jace Daley

        thanks Lila! x

    • Guest

I agree with you, Jace. Personally, I’m going to use the older, archive videos to work out to, which feature Zuzana, because she has a special magic something that is very motivating. I may also just watch and do her YouTube video workouts.

No offense to the replacement people, but I think a lot of people are here because of Zuzana’s special brand of motivation & inspiration, and feel disappointed.

  • Ricky 29

it’s me again reminding yout to vote for zuzka! :-)

No words!!!no comments, i can just can say, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazziinnngggggggggggg!!! it will change the things, and it´s good!! it´s very good to watch new people doing exercise and realize that everyone´s can do the same. You know, before seemed like it was impossible do these exercises, but now seeing more people doing and doing their best, sounds like anyone can do the same even though on diferent kind of strenght, that nobody has the same. Bring more and more hosts, Sean you will have a lots of girlfriends waiting for you!!! Guapooo!! keep on being host, you are fantastic here.!!! iupiiiiiiiii!!

wow! those ugi punches were really brutal!

    Ugi Punch : 30 24
    Frog Burpee :  27, 28
Side Forward Lunge – left leg:   10, 13
Side Forward Lunge – right leg:  12, 13
Sumo Push Up (keep hips still): 15, 13
    Side Knee Raises:  24, 24

thanks, guys, but where is zuzka?? nowhere??

i did two burpees for erin before i started, super-strong, and two burpees after i finished, for never-give-up :))
you got it, erin!! no worries!

    • Anonymous

you did good work, jess :)

  • Anonymous

    Good luck Erin!

What qualifications as a trainer do Jess and Sean have? I don’t want to follow a workout that isn’t presented by a trainer with a reputable certification. I wouldn’t do it at the gym and I’m not doing it at home.

    • Sabrina

A bit up tight are we? :D

    • ZoeRocker

Freddy is certified, Zuzana is certified, they are coaching Sean and Jess. Why would you even care? There are so many crappy trainers at gyms that don’t make people do proper form. I’ve witnessed it myself. If you don’t want to support the site and don’t want our support then you should not visit this site.

  • Lvette #1

Thanks Erin for the update. Keep triumphing!

Team Bodyrock you all are the best. Just remember no matter what is done; how hard the work and effort put into each video not everyone is going to be satisfied. All the hard work is very much appreciated.

    My Score:
    1. 34-22 ( 6lb ball)
    2. 20-17
    3. 6-6 (22lb bag)
    4. 5-6 (22 lb bag)
    5. 11-10
    6. 16-13
I had a brain fart during the second set of Ugi punch, could not remember how to squat and punch at the same time.

  • Christine Bastien

I keep on training, but I choose older workouts or some I create because I have a very neutral feeling toward this new way.  A huge thank you for everything!  I’m still a bodyrocker but more of a freelance bodyrocker.

  • Samantha R

A massive burpee for Erin!!  Its lovely to see you and wishing you all the best for your up and coming treatments.

    Ugi Push: 41, 34
    Frog Burpees: 35, 24
    Side/For Lungge 12k SB L: 11, 11 (counted each side/for as 1)
    R: 12, 12
    Sumo Push: 17, 14
    Diag Knee Raises: 22, 14

There seems to be a few bits of not so nice comments coming through to people who mention things aren’t the same without Zuzka and that they’re missing her.  Surely we all have and are entitled to our different feelings over the way things have panned out and its not the same without her….please lets all let each other have their say without getting defensive about it.  Freddy, Sean, Jess and Zuzana are doing a fabulous job!!  Lets get that Bodyrocker spirit back.  (Still miss you heaps though Zuzana;) Sx

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

      Your scores are so cool!

    • Miss Rebecca

Thank you for saying that!!  We are all entitled to our feelings and as a community, it would be nice if we could be supportive of one another instead of being so dismissive and telling people they need to grow up just because they are having a difficult time with the transition.

GREAT scores, by the way!!  :-)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Jess and Sean – AWESOME JOB!!  I thought this was a fantastic workout, and you two did such a great job working together.   Jess, you did great pushing through and it really kept me inspired while I was doing this. You look like a warrior in your sandbag picture above :)   Nice encouragement and pushing from Sean & Freddy.  I’m seriously wishing I was there with you guys:)

Question:  Jess what’s the weight of your SB?  Mine was 30lbs and it felt too heavy to really bust out the lunges without potentially hurting myself.  I just took my time and focused on form.   I will try this again later with less weight.

    Ugi Punch -  32, 30
    Frog Burpee – 22, 22
    Side/Fwd Lunge (L) – 7, 6
    Side/Fwd Lunge (R) – 8, 6
    Sumo Push Ups – 18, 17
    Side Knee Raises – 20, 20

And Hello to ERIN!  I did 5 burpees for you, one for each hour you will be going through your stem cell collection today. So good to see you, thanks for the update.  Carry on strong.

  • Anonymous

    hi

It’s so good to see you guys flop down too. When I’m working out and fall to my knees or flop on my tummy, I hear your voices (but I don’t need medication) say, get up, come on, push through and it does make me get up off my knees or tummy.

Erin – love, hugs, strength, peace, love. Love hugs, strength, peace, love and burpees for energy. All the best, we’re all there with you on your journey. Thank you for sharing this very personal time with us.

This one is great! Jess, you were pushing so hard I could almost feel the burn! :))
It’s obvious that you are not strangers anymore, so you could take the workout to a higher level.
Although I miss Zuzana, like many others do, I really appreciate what Jess, Freddy and Sean does to keep us motivated and make us rock our bodies!! So thank you !!

P.S: Waiting for Zuzanas new recipes (I’ve gained some weight :(. Seams like Brutus has been my cook lately )

  • Kat

Great Job Jess!  You did a Fantastic job today. Miss you Zuzka can’t wait to see you again in a video God willing soon :)  Gonna rock this workout here in a few.  Thanks again for all your efforts Freddy, Sean, Jess and Zuzka!

      UGI punch 27 23
      Frog Burpee 32 40
      side/forward lunge L 7 9
      side/forward lunge R 6 8
      sumo pushups 13 14
      plus

      10 skaters
      10 prisoner Getups
now I am BEAT!!  Thanks for the Motivation!

You two make  a great team :). I enjoyed watching you and actually now I see how helpful it is to have somebody cheer for you and push you through the workouts. I know I am slacking when I am out of breath and sometimes when I kind of think the timer is supposed beep, I’m like “oh come on, beep already !” I would like to see you two doing a workout simultaneously and kind of competing with each other :). That would be fun. And Freddy would have to push both of you :)). And then you two film Freddy doing the workout and take revenge :))).
I don’t have any of the equipment and sometimes I’m tired of my own improvisations :)) ( like doing the knee raises with my hands on the counter tops, which are not even at the same height ). I think I will have to bite the bullet and get the dip station at least. Can you fold it somehow to put it away ? ( I really don’t have space to leave it around the house ).

Erin, you are such a brave woman ! I wish you the best and will pray for you !

    • tee

I finally broke down and ordered it, it’s on its way!  I believe it said it was easy to either fold up or take apart,  I think I read you could put it under your bed, not positive on that though.  But it was supposidly on sale at $79.99 rather than its usual over $100 bucks.  I don’t know as I had never looked at the price before.  It’s my first actual piece of equipment (other that the gymboss)!  and I’ve been doing these workouts over a year!

      • Anonymous

I got the gymboss a long time ago after trying online timers or ipod timers and it’s a quite amazing little piece of equipment and not just for workouts.
But there are so many exercises I wish I would do and as much as I try to improvise , it’s simply not the same. I may put it on my Christmas list :D.
Please let me know about the folding part when you get it ! I am really considering getting it .

What a pretty comment, have a nice day! :)

  • Kirry_kaatje

Thats a very nice Gymboss timer you have there, Sean, lol! *winkwink* haha!

This video made me want to work out, (it’s my rest day), and darn it.. I will! Because the energy and motivation you guys gave me is enourmous. I like you as a team and I can’t get over the fact how beautiful Jess is.

Btw, small note: I kept looking around to find little miss Cali. Is she okay? We saw Charlie last week. Can we get a sneak peek of baby Cali? I miss her. <3

I have been following this thread of comments all day and all I can think is that whether or not it was intended this change in our community has not been an easy one. We are all going to experience this change differently. For some it will be simple for others more difficult and some of us the change might be impossible but I think all expressions of how we are feeling are normal. I know that the best thing in difficult situations is to keep talking because in the end that is what gets you through, so I want all you body rockers to know that I support all your feelings and Im gonna do a burpee for the community right now.
      Hugs and burpees,
      Sabrina.

I tried to send you a private message, but since I can’t I’ll post it here.
I would like to say that yesterday’s conversation was a bit harsh and emotional. I guess I was a bit straight forward and too hard in expressing my opinion. It was not correct to address you particularly and certainly not in a way I chose. I want to apologise for that. I was a bit emotional and irritated at the time (not because of bodyrock) and expressed my thoughts untactically. I still mean what I said, I just should have to choose another time and way to do so. Nevertheless, I think we started a pretty hot and interesting debate, don’t you think? ;)
Anyway, hope no hard feelings on your side? I think that everyone’s needs are different, along with time to ‘digest’ informations etc. I wish you a lot of positive energy – I think you need it, not just in terms of bodyrocking. Then again, don’t we all need it? :)
      Best, M

      • Jace Daley

        Hi M,
Thank you for that, I appreciate it. there are no hard feelings.
Thanks for your wishes of positive energy and I wish you the same.
enjoy the rest of the week.

I can totally understand that a lot of people miss zuzka. I miss her too and today it was a little strange not to see her being crazy about the form ;) but I feel like she needs a little rest and if that’s what’s good for her, it’s okay to me. I never considered that she’d propably totally disappear from the site and it’s still not what I think will be the case. so.. as long as I have the chance to see her in some coffee talk videos or just read something she wrote I guess I’m fine with it.
The whole bodyrock movement is kind of her baby, right? She always talked about the loving community and stuff.. so I don’t think she could ever leave us. Just be a little open minded! I personally think it’s nice to give Jess and Shawn a chance to have their say and I can still adore Zuzka and don’t have to choose between her or the change. (by the way.. every time somebody says “bodyrockers” I kind of hear “Zuzanas followers” lol)
And Freddy is still our amazing cameraman :)

    Hello everyone,

I am going to do this workout in 2 months or so because I am not happy with my scores, although I really gave all.

    Ugi Punch -  37, 33Frog Burpee – 22, 18Side/Fwd Lunge (L) – 6, 5Side/Fwd Lunge (R) – 7 and a half, 7 and a half (in the last one i drop the weight)Sumo Push Ups – 12, 12Side Knee Raises – 17, 13

After 5 minute break I did 5 burpees and after 6 or 8 minute break I did 10seconds and 50seconds just 3 rounds of jump rope, that was my bonus :P

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

You can lay on your back and lift your legs (straight) I used to do that when I didnt have my dip station. Good luck

Zuzana is ISSA certified. I’m going to ignore the personal attacks and stick to the facts.

    1. Zuzana is a qualified personal trainer through ISSA

2.Jess and Sean are either qualified or they are not

    3. It doesn’t matter if a service is free or not, It should still come with a level of assurance and
competence, which is law in the EU and I’m sure probably is in several other countries

    4. Yes it’s entirely my choice to partake in any exercise, either here or elsewhere.

However, given that I’m being asked to trust the trainer (In any setting) that the workout is generally safe and I’m not going to be put into any harmful positions (with regard to my fitness) Arching your back, knees beyond your toes, going outwith a range of motion would be harmful to me if the trainer did it and one might not necessarily know you shouldn’t do it, as they’re harmful to all.

Lifting a weight that’s too heavy or working too far above my fitness is completely down to me, I agree with that entirely.

    5. I was here because I found this a supportive, understanding community. I had fun, there was good advice, people became friends. I was really looking forward to the profiles and forums to build on that. However, given the mounting hostility to anyone who expresses a dissenting opinion or asks an awkward question, it’s rapidly becoming unfun.

So, I’ll just away now and leave you all to it. I’m pretty sure we won’t miss each other. Plenty other fun places to be and life’s too short to spend it miserable. You can reply or not to this post, I won’t be back to see it.

best of Luck to Freddy, Sean and Jess. I’m sure they’ll go far in the new incarnation of Bodyrock.

    • tee

Heather don’t go because of a couple people.  From what I understand from reading a lot on this site,  Zuzana was just interested in fitness, so she started this blog with freddy, along the way, like in the last year or so,  she has done her fitness certification.  So for a long time she was just a woman with a passion.  They do have a disclaimer on the site so they are not responsible for injuries.  That is the legal stuff.  I do not think freddy has a certificate, and I have not heard anything about sean.  and I think jess would have said so in her original video, if she did.  But it is always up to us to inform ourselves on things like this.  Certificates do not always mean anything, you can get one off the internet and have no experience whatsoever, but you can just exercise a lot and know more than someone with a certificate as well.  If you are uncomfortable with the exercises then don’t do them.

  • Anonymous

You are right. It seems though that all in all people just like to WATCH Zuzana, not so embrace what she says … But that is just an assumption and unfair of me to say. What I’m trying to point out is that Zuzana’s message is still there, whether her physique isn’t. If you decide to do bodyrocking because you like Zuzana, I don’t know how this matches with her coffee talks and wishes for the community to develop. I like Zuzana VERY MUCH and it is because of her great body and warm approach that I started following BR in the frst place. But now she’s gone (in sense of doing exercise videos), I see no point in moaning and being rude because people are disappointed – her (and Freddy’s) work continues and it’s our responsibility to accept the way things evolve and evolve with them, or leave because it does not serve our needs anymore. That’s it. What is really disrespectful is demanding and begging for them to do things the way they did untill now. Our decisions should be respectful – that’s what we all owe them – in return for their respectful attitude to all of us. Like I said before, the choice that is ours to make, is whether we stay with the community or search for another and let Zuzana and Freddy do their work the way they decided to do.

    • Lila Alejandra ♥

Mesage, people are just diferent, so this means we all see, feel and embrace changes diferently. Some get very emotional some don´t. You just see things and feel them in your own way. Eventually all of us will get used to the new BodyRock site, but we are just expressing how we feel with the fact of not seeing Zuzana as often as before. Zuzana does not inspire and motivate just beacuse of her body, she does it in so many ways from her charisma, her personality, her smile, her support, etc. It´s just difficult to let someone go when you get to love them. I´m positive we will get to love Sean and Jess also and will be very sad if some day they have to leave the site as well. Just let others be with their emotions and stop critizing if we are moaning about somebody we got to respect, love and cheris and are sad to see her go. BodyRock will still be BodyRock and I´m sure we will stick around to do our workouts and keep ourserlves motivated. Greetings from Mexico!

  • Speedbump614

This video was much better then Jess’s first video. I’m a personal trainer and her form in the “Shake It” workout was really awful. But this video really was much better cause she had someone reminding her of exactly what to keep tight and what to focus on. I really didn’t like the first video, but this one was rocked out! Fantastic job Jess!

Jess – I also wanted to say I appreciated in your writing that you are excited to take your fitness to the next level and push harder than ever before.  This has me thinking hard on what this means for me and how I’m going to focus on that.  I don’t want to just “work out” day to day…I am TRAINING to be better, stronger, more focused — all over.  So thanks a lot for including that :)

  • RebelQ

The dangling timer cracked me up.

    Good work, Jess.

I don’t play the compare game – I find it unhealthy – but I have observed something relevant for me as the BodyRock transition occurs. When I watch Z, I marvel at the body she has created as the ultimate body I could ever create in myself. I watch her push & do more than I can do, making it look so easy. Her passion & genuine personality motivate me to always strive to do better, push harder, and constantly work to improve myself…she’s been an instructor & mentor. Jess, on the other hand, is my girl that I am meeting at the gym. She’s struggling right with me. She’s taking a break every now & again, too. We’re catching our breaths together. It’s as if Z took us through the training, prepared us & instilled in us all that we need to achieve, and now she wants us to work together to use what we have learned. Z has been getting us ready to not need her to BodyRock. She has taught us well, and we love her & will always love her for everything she has done & continues to do. So, I’m gonna partner up with Jess & Sean (and always appreciate Freddy’s skill behind the lens) to push & work, and I will check out coffee talks & do Z workouts to get my Z fix because I believe in BR as a way of workout life. Let’s keep the movement rockin’!

    Hi guys,
I exactly remember my feelings when I got known what is going on. It was like something left me. I was sad, little bit scared of something new, cause I didn’t see that itcould be good. But after few weeks I am getting use to it, cause it’s their choice. I really really miss Zuzka cause she inspires me, because she is from neighbouring country. And when I first saw her I was like ”omg! someone like me became someone who does what she wants” you know there are lot of trianers mainly from Amerika but Zuzka isn’t. That motivates me firstly, but then I saw her life. I was fascinated and still I am. She is for me like older friend who wants to help me, encourage me. In the first months I didn’t have any support from anyone. But after maybe half an year I started to do workouts with enthusiasm and I have been looking forward to see new videos. I see results and I’m glad that she came to my life. For sure I keep bodyrocking because Zuzka shows us also to keep doing it cause of our health, better life and happiness. It’s true that the changes on the site disappointed me firstly but now I know why I am doing it. Zuzana pushes me cause I wasn’t so strong to do it by myself, now I feel more stronger to do it cause she taught me a lot and one of it was right this part. To keep going! So I am thankful for all what Zuzka has done for us.Thank you Jess that you have strenght to do it. It has to be hard for you, because people are sometimes very tough. But don’t be disappointed, let them to get use to it. I think that Zuzka had to do it as well when she started, cause she wasn’t a native speaker and she had to find bravery. So everytime you would feel bad cause others don’t support you try to think of Zuzka’s begginings.P.S. : I know that life is change, but I’ll be glad to see Zuzka as often as it is possible :) I wish you lot of nice bodyrockers and lot of encouragement. Your bodyrocker Katka :)

Actually, Zuzka did acquire an ISSA Personal Trainer Certification, they’ve mentioned it before in comments and in a video somewhat at the beginning of BodyRock.Tv. :)

  • Anonymous

Zuzka does create workouts, however Sean put these last few together. Zuzka said so at the beginning of the videos. :) But they are still in the BodyRock spirit.. :)

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I guessed so too. :)
It would be really great to see Zuzka on covers of fitness magazine. She is so right for it! I’ll keep on voting for her as the Physique of the year 2011 at http://www.fitnessgurls.com/gurls/physique2011/#pd_a_5609100 and hopefully soon enough we’ll see our favourite fitness girl on the cover!! :)
I’m really surprised no one has hired her yet! :)

      Hi marisarb,

I made one.  I went to the drugstore and bought about 60lb pea gravel/pea pebbles (small stones–people use them in gardens), 2 rolls of duct tape and contractor bags.  I put about 35lb of stones in one contractor bag, rolled it up, then I think I put that in ANOTHER contractor bag, then duct-taped the thing completely up so it’s all covered.  Some people stop there, but then I put it in a reusable shopping bag, wrapped it up in more duct tape and even made handles out of duct tape.

All in all, it cost $30 and I could make another whole sandbag out of what I bought for that amount. :)

        Hi Mily…
I take my protein shake after every workout, and for me is great, no side effects of any kind…I have one with chocolate taste, and I mix it with “grape sugar# (or glucose..don’t know the exact name),and I like it…

you can read something here, but you will find so many things written about this on internet…
I use it for a couple of months, and I can recommend it…
        good luck

      • tee

        hi mily,

I have been doing as zuzana suggested – having protein as soon as I get up.  I mix some with water and add 1 tsp of instant coffee for extra flavour,  then I have a glass of icewater, both to boost my metabolism.  then I eat a light breakfast, so that I can workout about a half hour later.  I eat lunch about an hour after my workout, then I’m off to work.  at work I usually don’t take a break for 5 to 6 hours, just because this is easier for me.  and before I used to take a handful of nuts to eat in between, now I have been making a green smoothie and take a moment to have it in between, usually about 4 or 5 hours in.  It makes me feel really good!  I still bring nuts, just in case I’m extra hungry.  I feel so much better now and healthier, more energy!

as a side note – I have really poor vision, and I have been having trouble with blurriness at night especially, I went to the eye doctor thinking she would have to increase my prescription yet again, and my vision has improved!!!!!!!!!!  she had to decrease my prescription!   love the greens+

        my green smoothie recipe

        about 1/2 cup coconut milk
about 1 -2 tsp flax oil
        1/2 scoop greens+
enough protein powder to equal 25 – 30g protein (I actually use 3 different kinds not sure why, I like the combination)
        1 tsp instant coffee
        1 – 2 tsp  cocoa powder
either 1/2 or 1 full avocado
(if I have it I may add spinach, kale or swiss chard)

I love how the avocado makes it thick and one of the proteins I use also makes it thick.  I actually eat it with a spoon!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Francisca-Nwoke/100002459303967 Francisca Nwoke

I said the same thing!  “Focus your emotions on yourself”, that is the perfect way to put it, this reminds me of how distraught some people are that Kim Kardashian got divorced because they watch her reality shows.  If you give your emotions away to others then what do you have left to push yourself to the next level?  Zuzana brought people here to improve their fitness, do her justice by showing that she taught you something, not making her your Lord and Savior;-)!

  • Vala

    Nice workout :)

@Jess:disqus: This is meant as constructive criticism :) I noticed that you push your head down, when you do Push Ups. Along with this your chest does not reach the floor. I used to do this as well – it is not proper form. Try to place your hands next to your chest (not in front of your face) and maybe focus your eyes somewhere in front of you (not to the bottom), so your head will stay higher and your chest will reach the floor first.
    Take care :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=706388249 Tori Larson Bradford

As always this workout rocked.  I tried to keep good form while pushing to the max. I am dead.  It would be nice to have someone working out with me to keep me in good form and keep me going.  It’s nice to see that you guys work so well together.

    Here are my scores:
UGI Punch:  I used a 12 lb medicine ball 23/21
Frog Burpee:  20/20  (these are harder then they look)
Side Forward Lunge (L):  8.5/7 with 25lb sandbag.  I tried to keep really good form.  For some reason side  burpees are hard for me.
Side Forward Lunge (R):  8/9 again using the 25 lb sandbag
Sumo Push Up:  8.5/9 (last 7 on round 2 were on my knees.  I’m really trying to keep proper form on pushups so I did them a bit slower.  I really wanted to go all the way down)
Side Knee Raise:  19/17 (I love knee raises, but my hands start to hurt after a bit.  Not sure whether this is because of my homemade dip station or if I’m doing something wrong).

  • Anonymous

true! thats a much better idea, I just used whatever was around but that would be much better, its getting very annoying at this point haha  and you will LOVE the dip station, I seriously cant believe how much better it has made my training!

Erin, I’m so impressed by your will: keep being strong, you will do it !

Jess: your so slim :-o I’m sure your sandbag is heavier than you !?

    My scores…

    Frog Burpee: 24 – 20
    Side Forward Lunge L: 10 – 12
    Side Forward Lunge Right: 11.5 – 11.5

You know, Meg, if you’re hurt, that’s fine. But accusing me (or anyone else) of being rude just because I suggested my point of view, that just affirms what you said, only for yourself. I do not appreciate you addressing me like that and especially telling me what to do at the end. It is not your place to be. I am opened for different kind of views, it’s interesting to participate in a discussion like that, but being offensive is out of the question. Be a part of the conversation, but know your place, boundaries. This was certainly not welcome. Good day.

I need a Sean in my living room during my workouts, Im the same as Jess, with no one there I know I dont give my total MAX, but the more bodyrocking I do the more I hear Zuz and Freddy in my head telling me to PUSH, its nice to add Sean and Jess to those voices too.
    Thanks guys.
ps. what is Sean doing with his interval timer at the beginning of the video? HAHA! Am I the only one to notice this….

thanks Meg, dont take note of some people, seems they are very quick to attack someones persona but when the favour is returned its too dificult to swallow.

Come on Ladies this conversation is certainly not one that promotes the bodyrocker spirit whatever your view point.  Someone be the bigger man and call it quits! Just my opinion.

  • Kalin

Warmed up with 8 rounds 10/20 skipping with rope, which I’m still horrible at! But we’ve all gotta start somewhere :) then:

    Ugi Punch (8# dumbbell) – 38, 40
(suffered through these – maintaining the quick punch gets hard after a bunch of reps!)

    Frog Burpee – 29, 31
(these were VERY difficult after having done ugi punch!)

    SF Lunge, left (20# bag) – 9.5, 10.5
(these lunges with bag are always really tough for me. can’t get any heavier than 20# right now or else i’ll only be able to do, like, 3! 28# is a goal, though)

    SF Lunge, right (20# bag) – 11, 11.5

    Sumo Push Up – 18.5, 18
(i like push ups – as much as one can like them – so these were just slightly less torturous)

    Side Knee Raises – 26, 25
(a little like torture toward the end. i made lots of funny faces, i’m sure.)

And 5 burpees – one burpee for everyone at BRTV.

Thanks everyone – Z,F,E,S,J – ALL Bodyrockers – for being great inspiration!! <3

I just say we have the right to express ourselves and about the changes. I do not think we are investing time in their lives, we are just discussing how different it all feels and some will need time to adjust. We are not all the same.

    • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I agree.  I haven’t read any rude or mean comments, just people expressing their feelings and reaching out.  Let’s keep this a safe place to express ourselves constructively!  Change is good, but I completely agree with Lila Alejandra’s statement here–we are not all the same, so let’s be good and patient with each other.

    Hi Zuzka and Team Bodyrock,

I missed having you do the tutorial, but I’m glad to hear of Erin’s status!  I hope this isn’t a trend this absence of you in the Bodyrock.tv videos.  I like you Sean and Jess, but either of you have the spark Zuzka has in a video…at least yet.

    –Chris

    • Jace Daley

      i agree

did u see at the very end just afte 8:05 there was a split second i think it is zuzana sitting on the floor in the sun, like she would do for the tutorials the past few workouts.  Its literally a split second before the words come on at the end. it made me so sad because we didnt even get to hear her talk today. im still going to do this workout now but i miss zuz.

      • Anonymous

        Hi Beckssss,

I didn’t mean to start a crying jag or something.  Sean and Jess can find their video “soul” I think with a little work and maybe reviewing what Zuzka has learned to do. I always feel she is talking directly to me even when she says “Hi Bodyrockers” or is showing us how to do something.  It’s an art and it can be learned.

The exercise and the way they went thru the tutorial was great, it just didn’t have a feeling like they where showing me how to do it…personally.

If Zuzka needs space I’m for giving her it.  There already is a void where she was in my heart so I don’t think pain is a issue for me anymore.  I guess what I wanted is what so many of you wanted,  just to her her voice and see her.  I worry.  What can I say…it’s the Dad in me.

I didn’t see the video of her.  I’m sure it was a video editing error on Freddy’s part and nothing more.

        –Chris

I kept the “just one” mantra thru out…really helped me to squeeze out a couple more of the Sumo Push Up.

Warm Up: Pilates Straight Leg w/ Foot Flexes, Arm ROM, Roll Over, Bridge, Supine Spine Twist and Pretzel Twist.

UGI Punch 20.20 (modified w/ no jump)

    Frog Burpee ?/23

Side Forward Lunge 17.17 (Ugi ball on shoulder)

    Side Forward Lunge 18/16 (” “)

    Sumo Push Up 12/11

Side Knee Raises 11/9 (no dip station so did Straight Leg Pendulums, moving feet as far away from shoulder as possible while keeping shoulders down versus just side to side to get the diagonal for the side knee raises.

Cool Down: Pilates Spine Twist, Teaser, Swimming, Side Bend and Seal

    My scores:

UGI Punch 33/22 (6,6lbs 3kg)Frog Burpee 20/19Side Forward Lunge 11/10 (6kg)Side Forward Lunge 10/10 (6kg)Sumo Push Up 15/17as I don’t have dip station, I did crunches but the legs turn up and down to both sides 17,20

I don’t have a sand bag and I am doing the exercises with 6kg for the past three years, and it feels intense for me. But I really want a sandbag to push myself, but the shipping to Portugal is so so so so cheap…
Has someone knows promotions or something? I don’t have much time to do my own sandbag and the true is that I am not an artist….. eheheheheh

I’m feeling a bit disappointed to read some of the disagreeing standpoints on here.  I respect everyone’s feelings on the matter without a doubt, but I think we should all try to be understanding of EVERYONE within the community – not just the situation revolving around Freddy and Zuzana and what the presence of Sean and Jess in the videos represents. Yes, that’s going to be the major focal point here, but everyone who’s been a follower is going to be affected in some way or another.

In no way am I trying to single anyone out, but some of us should lighten up.  Zuzana’s complete absence from this video was hard for me to swallow, I admit, but she is fully present on this site in many other ways!  She’s not GONE completely, and I think that when we get down about not seeing her, we should try to remember that and feel thankful that the site is continuing regardless of all that has changed.

Some are going to be upset, others are going to be cool with it, some will be just lukewarm.  All standpoints are valid in their own right.  Let’s try to support all of these opinions to maintain the positivity of this community.  It’s what Zuzana would like to see.  Give her that, maybe she’ll give us what we want to see, hey?

Now go tear up this workout.  :)

    • Lila Alejandra ♥

Well said, I just hope everybody understands what you mean, because some people just do not have patience or tolerance with one another.

    Hugs and burpees,
    Sabrina.

Everyone is doing an AMAZING job!! Z, Freddy, Sean and Jess!!

I only want to post something to Jess, as a trainer, in my opinion… oh please don’t take offense, Jess, I think you are a true badass! But as I watched your pushups, I felt that your neck was drooping too much…watch that piece of form in your pushups- protect your neck, please!

Otherwise, JOB WELL DONE!! Way to go, team! All in!! :)

    Side Knee Raises: 21,16

now for a stretch and early bedtime…night night my fellow canadian bodyrockers…muuuuahhh!!!

  • Jenn

    Good luck Erin!

Jess, you looked much more comfortable with the camera in this video than in the last one.  Good job pushing yourself!

My Ugi was too heavy for the Ugi punch, so I used a 7.5 pound weight plate instead.
    Here are my scores:
    Ugi Punch: 25, 25
    Frog Burpees: 26, 23
Side Forward Lunges- Left: 9.5, 9.5
Side Forward Lunges- Right: 9, 9
Sumo Pushups: 13, 13 (10 on toes, 3 on knees; 7 on toes, 6 on knees)
    Side Knee Raises: 22, 23

I’m getting stronger- in my martial arts class today I did 4 close-grip knuckle pushups from my toes today!  I usually can only do one of those on my toes.

Everyone’s already said most of what I wanted to say:
     - The timer dangling = super funny!
     - Not seeing Zuzka in this one = sorta weird but not going to make more out of it than necessary
     - Jess’s efforts = stellar!

Now just one more thing…we got to see Charlie the other day, can we please see wee Cali too? :)

  • Gogo

This looks great and will be my morning workout tomorrow, can’t wait!  I think the good feeling is that little bit of laughter at the beginning, it made me smile and is a little motivator :)  Good job guys!

Just did this workout then went on a moderate 30-minute run!  I had a bad night’s sleep last night, which really put me in a bum mood today, so I wanted to really workout for a good long time to get those endorphins going!

    10lb “ugly” ball.  35lb sandbag.

    “ugly” punch: 40-29
    frog burpee: 37-30
    side forward lunge L: 10-9
    side forward lunge R: 11-10.5
    sumo push up: 23-17
    side knee raises: 24-21

The timer positioning is priceless! ;)

I loved the video with Sean and Jess.  I know people miss Zuz; I do too, but I don’t mind spreading the wealth a little. :)

    Have a great night everybody!

      • Vivi

Yes it was great this one !
I tried a time to work more than with 10 kg, and put 12 kg, and I saied in my head “but how Maria can work with 15 kg !!” It’s very very challenging with this weight ! I can’t for the moment ! So you stay an inspiration for me ! Much love <3 <3

I just did this workout and it was a burn! I did  the same as Jess, pushed one more time when I thought I couldn´t do it. It hurts!! But I think it´s a good strategy to push harder. My scores:

ugi punch (with no ugi ball because I don´t have one) 32/29

    frog burpee  36/31

    side forwarding lunge (L) 9/10

    side forwarding lunge (R) 8/7

    sumo push ups 17/18

    knee raises 25/26

note: Since I do not have a dip station I do the knee raises from a corner of mi kitchen so I can´t do side knee raises just regular knee raises LOL!!

I did an extra set of side forwarding lunge (R and L) and 6 extra burpees for Erin! Good luck Erin, we are here for you :)

HAVE GREAT DAY ALL OF YOU BODYROCK TEAM AND BODYROCKERS!!

Hey Bodyrocker’s, despite all the controversy and opinions whether good or bad, and yes I too miss Zuzka, let’s all stick together and SUPPORT eachother!  Just tryin to keep it positive here is all ;)
I’m low on energy today but still managed to give it my all with proper form today.  I used 10lb medicine ball for the punch and 30lbs for lunges.

    Ugi Punch:  40/32
    Frog Burpee:  27/22
    SideForwardLunge:  9/8 for both sides
    Sumo Pushup:  14/10
    SideKneeRaises:  20/19
    + healing burpees for Erin!
Thanks for the update Erin, I’m praying for you a speedy recovery!

    • tee

ha ha I was imagining you throwing that 30lb bar out for the punch!

  • Jazzy

Come on everyone lets stop complaining. These wonderful people are providing us an important tool to keep us healthy. I miss Zuzana very much as well, but SHE NEEDS TIME TO HER SELF. she has been the host for a very long time. Freddy, Sean, and Jess are doing GREAT. I know Zuzana is still part of this site. There are hundreds of workouts with Zuzana in it, everyone could always go back.

I think the motivation is still there, these workouts has always been brutal and intense nothing has change. I think what changed is everyone, the motivation is in US. No one can stop us but ourselves.

  • ZoeRocker

You can go to the library of exercises at the bottom of the page on the right side and click on any exercise and Zuzana will show you each one in detail with modifications for beginners :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/ildiko.mazar Ildikó Sünci Mázár

:-D I’m glad I haven’t noticed Sean’s dangling timer (or read related comments) before I completed the WO – I couldn’t have focused properly. You are funny, man!

    Now scores:

    UGI punches: 37, 30
    Frog burpees: 23, 17
    Side FW lunges L: 9 side + 8 FW, 9 side + 8 FW (these are HARRRD)
    Side FW lunges R: 10 side + 9 FW, 9 sets
    Sumo PUs: 18, 15
Side knee raises: 20, 18 (I normally love these, but the last round was an absolute torture)

  • ZoeRocker

Good for you for quitting smoking! I know it is so hard but once you quit for a while, going back seems unimaginable. It is so disgusting! When you are putting so much effort into keeping your body fit, clean, and healthy, it seems all the more rediculous to fill it full of poison. I quit recently too and it feels SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

  • BodyRocker Cali

i love this workout!! I’m covered in sweat!!!!  i don’t have the dip station so i had to modify the last one so i just layed on the floor and did leg raises to work on my abs..to all those who miss Zuzana just go way back and do some of her older workouts or challenges. i really like everyone on this site so it doesn’t matter if it is Sean or Jess leading the workout, the main goal here is to watch the video and get off your butt and do the exercise!

  • Anonymous

Holy moly, my legs are on fire! Great workout!
My score (I like to call them improvable ;)Ugi punch: 26 ,21Frog burpee: 12, 13Lunch Left: 7,7Lunch Right: 8,8Sumo push up: 15, 13Knee raises: 12, 14And one BPFE!

  • Peg

I agree that this was a great workout in and of itself. Jess and Sean are obviously strong. I’m sure they are nice people, etc. However….

I don’t have a lot of time, so I am very picky about what I will spend my time on. I came to BodyRock originally for the short, intense workouts, and stayed because there was a certain spark from Zuzana that got to me, and Freddy captured it very well. For me, the energy just isn’t there right now…. The personality does not quite shine….It even seems like Freddy is shooting differently now… In a word, it felt BLAND. Without that spark, I guess I will simply be watching Zuz’s old videos for now, and waiting and watching what happens with time. IMHO… Peg

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Way to knock out the Ugi punches!

very short but very intense workout. thank you :)

  • tee

hey mo,  you can buy these things called perfect pushups,  you can get them at walmart or a place like that.  they are a bar on a swivel.  but they change the angle of your wrists, so your wrists are neutral rather than flexed.  I think they are about $20.  also sometimes you can find in the exercise section a bar, I’m not sure what they call them, but they are just a small bar, about 5 inches on stands,  and you use them the same way, and they are cheaper.  they are really great if you have wrist issues,  they are also good if you are advanced so that you can go deeper in your stretch on the pushup.  (but you don’t have to be advanced to use them)

  • tee

here is “ALOT of support” for you!

It is OK to take more time.  50 seconds might be long to start with, and you might need more rest time.  you can always change the interval to 30 sec and 30 sec.  this would give you time to look at the exercise and get ready for it and then the actual work time wouldn’t be so long.  then as you get better you can change the intervals to 25sec rest 35 sec work, then 20 sec rest, 40 sec work, 15 sec rest 45 sec work finally to 10 sec rest 50 sec work.   that would be for any workout involving these intervals  for other intervals you can just do the math.

if they give a workout that is timed and given a certain amount of reps to do, it is OK to do fewer reps if you have to.  do what is intense for you!

plus zoerocker is so smart to recommend the exercises at the bottom right!  I don’t know if all exercises are there there is a lot there.

    have fun!

    I did it this morning

    ugi punch (10# dumbell) 43-36
    frog burpee 37-27
    side/fwd lunge L 8-7.5
    side/fwd lunge R 8-7
    sumo pushups 23-23
    side knee raise 16+6straight-17+5 straight

  • tee

I did not find this a “good feeling” workout!  ha ha!

my “ugly” ball weighs about 6.5 lbs,  my “gym, duffel” bag weighs 20lb, and I used it across my back as I’m not really comfortable with putting weight on one shoulder.  knee raises off a high bar stool

    ugi punch – 26, 16
frog burpee – 20, 13 (these were really hard after the jump squats!)
    side lunge forward lunge L – 10, 10
    side lunge fprward lunge R – 10, 10
    sumo push up – 10, 9
    side knee raises – 15, 15

for those who haven’t seen here is my “ugly” ball (the term ugly was coined by chris)

  • tee

have I mentioned that I love this picture of zuzana that’s at the top!

also I think I forgot to mention that I did my burpee for erin and one for anyone else needing good vibes!

    have a great day guys!

  • Janessa Reimer

This was a great workout! I loved the ugi punch!

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I said this already in my post, but I just want to say how AWESOME it is to have these workouts.  My only problem with them is–wait for it…–I hate taking a day off; I feel my mood go down.  It’s such a relief to come back and do a workout after my rest day because it heightens my mood, not to mention my booty! ;)  But seriously, though…I am seriously addicted.  I’m also trying to nip an alcohol addiction in the bud, so I guess I’m maybe transferring that into BodyRocking.  Could be worse addictions!

Anyway, excited for tonight’s workout.  Not sure what I’ll do–I might try Red Hot again…  <3

Just finished this workout and WOW! Intense 12 minutes!! My scores:
Ugi punch jump squat (used 5 lb weight) 34/30
    Frog burpees 25/30
    Side-forward lunge w/ sandbag (L) 10/9
    Side-forward lunge w/ sandbag (R) 12/11

For some reason I tend to do more reps on 2nd, 3rd rounds of workouts. Why is that?
absolutely exhausting workout! Thanks BodyRock!!! Loved it!

  • Penelope

I’ve been watching the bodyrock videos for a long time and was very resistant to watching without Zuzana.  However, I really like the one-on-one personal training style of this video.  It definitely makes the whole thing seem more possible.

I miss, Zuzana, and at the same time, think that Jess is great.

  • Lila Alejandra ♥

I´m sure we all have a personal tragic story of how unfair life can be, this is not what we are discussing here. Have fun doing all those burpees :)

  • Lila Alejandra ♥

    I totally agree!

  • tee

I do them by sitting on the very edge of a high bar stool, (kitchen counter, table might work as well), and then I just find something to hold on to and do the same motion.  or I do them hanging off my pull up bar.

  • tee

I love this hammer and nails example,  I’d like to hammer a few things!  lol

You can try lying leg raises (legs straight) where you extend you legs out to one side, then the other….there’s also a killer ab exercise in one of the older routines: Fast Burn Workout, 11/26/2009. The ab exercise is the 3rd in the workout.  http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/11/26/fast-burn-workout/

One word, brutal. I think my scores were pretty average but it took double the work it usually does. I need to get back on the horse in terms of my workouts. I started on Monday, so let’s hope i can keep it up.

Wonderful.  I LOVE the new faces of Bodyrock.  Its great for me to see Sean pushing Jess, and in the other videos, I see Sean really pushing himself.  When I’m working out, I hear Sean’s voice and thats just what I need to get me to the next level that Jess was talking about.  Thanks to everyone.

  • Lila Alejandra ♥

Hahahahahahaha omg, I´m so sorry, I just can´t stop laughing. I didn´t know what you guys were making fun of about Sean and where the interval timer was hanging until I watched the video again. Thanks, I had a great laugh! :)

  • LoneStarj2ocker

Did this the other day, just now getting to post my scores.  BURPEES agghhh!!!  Always kick my butt!  Good workout, good effort Jess & everyone else for giving it a shot!  My scores & mods below…

    WARMUP:
    1 mile run at 8min30sec

    ROUTINE:
    14# Ugi punch – 45 / 26
    Frog burpees – 28 / 25
    30# L Side/FW lunge – 20 / 17
    30# R Side/FW lunge – 19 / 20
    Sumo pushup – 22 / 19
    Side knee raises – 20 / 21

    MODS:
14# medicine ball for the Ugi sub
    30# dumbbell for sandbag sub

Some people have been asking about a mod for the side knee raises w/o a dip station.  You could try lying on your back, lift your head & shoulders & legs off the ground, & then open & close your legs wide in a scissor motion.  Keep your abs contracted.  If you can’t keep your shoulders lifted off the ground, you can drop them, but try hard!  I call them “GOOD MORNING DARLINGS”… (for good reason… haha!).

    Keep rockin’, y’all!
    Rachel

    Thanks guys!

Hi Guys!  I am new on this site and I have done a few of the workouts.  I was wondering where the New workouts are available, as listed in the weekly workout schedule.  I cannot seem to find the link to the video or to the sequence of exercises for the 10th or the 11th of november.  Please help… Thank you :)

  • cjfe

Hi guys, I really appreciate your workouts and find the videos helpful but I currently can’t commit to buying/ storing various pieces of gear (dip station,  ugi ball etc.). It would be great if you could suggest alternatives on each video or create a specific post of standard alternatives. I do appreciate the no-gear modification which are suggested from time to time but it would be helpful to have that information easily accessible when I’m about to do a workout.
Thanks for all your hard work!

  • http://thats-rad.tumblr.com/ Jenn Coppack

Hi guys, my scores are below:

    UGI Punch:  34 – 32
    Frog burpee:  19 – 20
    Side forward lunge right:  9 – 9
    Side forward lunge left:  9.5 – 10
    Sumo pushup:  13 – 17
    Knee raises:  17 – 20

Notes:  I don’t have an UGI ball so I
just used a couch pillow.  I also do not have a sandbag so I used my
7.5kg dumbbell.  For the dip station I used my kitchen benches as per
    usual :)

oh and I almost forgot, one burpee for Erin as well :)  Thanks for a wicked workout guys! x

Wow, I’m behind the curve on most of these comments. I do some other training as well, so I didn’t do this workout until today. But I must say, the string of comments here is intense! I’m so impressed by women who can disagree, get a little hot and still in grace, humility and deference maintain friendship. That’s the BodyRock spirit and I know Zuzana would be proud.
We do miss you Zuz and I think of you and Freddy every day. I pray that your joy bubbles over, your energy increases and you discover the next, fresh step in  your path everyday. God bless BodyRockers everywhere!!

I have no idea why but this workout nearly killed me!! my breathing system almost went off! i had to pause several times (not more than 10 sec) to take some air!

and first i was gonna do one leg deadlifts instead of the side/forward lunge cuz i dont have a sandbag but i have a flowerpot that weights 5 kg + dumbells (6 kg both) = 11 kg, but i can only use it to do deadlifts.. anyway i started doing the workout and when it came the time to do the deadlifts i realized i had to switch cuz me hands kept sliding! ughhhh
so in the “false” start these were my scores
    1. 3kg dumbell punch: 34
    2. frog burpees: 41

lilke 5 min later, after trying to think what exercise to replace the side/forward lunges i decided to do fighters lunges (backward lunge + knee up with side crunch)

    1. 3kg dumbell punch: 29-23
    2. frog burpee: 37-30
    3. Fighter lunge: 20-20
    4. fighter lunge: 20-20
    5. Sumo push up: 17-16
    6. Side knee raises: 18-17

5 min later did a 5 min time challenge of 50 jump rope mini jumps + 15 bodyweight squats: did 4 rounds + 50 jumps

    burpee for erin!

    cya!

I just did this one!  I am a little sick and it is late so I was tired, but of course, with BodyRock–just do 12 minutes!  And you’re good!

Great workout.  Hard cardio wise.  I used a 35lb sandbag, 10lb ugly ball and my new walker for the dip station!  It’s hard to do the side to side things becuase there’s a bar, but I did my best.  Also, I started with the lunges and moved forward that way so my boyfriend and I could share equipment.  He’s loving BR!

    side/fwd lunge L: 12.5-10
    side/fwd lunge R: 12-11
sumo push up: 24-20side knee raises: 28-24
    ugi punch: 30-30
    frog plank jumps: 25-24

Love to Erin, hope you’re doing better!
