My brother, Frank Gross, was a huge fan of BODYROCK.tv. To say he had a crush on Zuzanna would be an understatement. Frankie was very disciplined when it came to eating clean, portion control and working out daily, often twice a day. He was my motivator, my personal trainer, my disciplinary. Thanksgiving and Christmas morning when he would be home from school, I would wake up to Frank in his work out clothes telling me to put mine on. Frank lived life passionately and was very creative, athletic and competitive. He played baseball throughout high school, received a scholarship to play baseball in college and then went on to obtain his masters in digital arts.
This July 16, Frank was killed in action while defending our country. The vehicle he was traveling in ran over a homemade explosive and he died from wounds sustained when the vehicle crushed him. I will never forget that day, yet really never remember: it all seemed so foggy. It’s still hard to believe he’s never coming back to my family and I. Never again will Frank and I run on Christmas morning before I ate a huge meal and he stuck to his guns, eating only oatmeal, lean protein and his shakes. No burpees. No BODYROCK. I specifically remember one Christmas morning when my friend had told me about BODYROCK. I told Frankie we should try it out and from then on, he loved it: Frank always loved a challenge. I’ve never seen someone more motivated in my entire life and I’m so proud to have called him my little bro.
Two weeks after Frank’s death, his girlfriend and I decided to go to Cocoa Beach, Florida because I wanted to learn how to surf as this was one of Frank’s passions. While there, I thought it would be awesome to take a picture of me doing a burpee in Frank’s honor at one of his favorite places in the world: the beach.
This November, I’m going to Puerto Rico to learn to surf with a professional surfer and I can’t wait! Thank you so much Bodyrockers and Freddy and Zuzanna for not only giving us your website, but also something that I can still do that reminds me of Frank and I. I’m sure he’s Bodyrocking in heaven :p.
