BodyRocker Alexis and her progress

Dear Freddy and Zuzka,

Thank you thank you so much for all you do and have done for this site; making it into the wonderful, supportive and inspirational place that it is.

I’ve fully started Bodyrocking now at Least every other day (my body takes a while to recover!) after following you both for many years but I wanted to post a picture of my progress so far :)

I’ve always pinched and pulled at my hips and tummy and all that sweating has now started to reveal the young woman I feel like on the inside – stronger, leaner, faster.

You motivate us all to change the little things in our lives that shape us into the people we want to become, and i just wanted to say thank you :)

30 days into my Bodyrocking journey and I’m never going back!

Now for my six-pack!

Lots of love from Cambridge, UK

Alexis

  • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

    Unbeliveable… :( 1 month is really nothing :(((

  • Elena Ioan

Don’t you give up! :) Com on! Put all you have into it! :) Sometimes, your body juste takes the time it needs, that’s all!

  • GoustiFruit

Yeah, sometimes I feel it’s unfair how some people get faster results than others… but hey, bodyrocking is not a 30 day affair, it’s for life; with consistance we should get there eventually :-p

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Congrats, Alexis, you look fabulous!!  This gave me some extra inspiration I need to power through December with renewed focus.  I have been bodyrocking my *littler* butt off and lately not getting the results I feel I should be getting…I’ve just stalled out for dropping a last few lbs.  SO…now comes the honest look at diet, what needs to change?  Something is hanging me up.  If I could make progress like you in the next 30 days I would be over the moon happy :)

  • Marta

Great progress!!! You go girl!!! Congrats!

    Hi Alexis,

What did you do…stop eating?  :-)  Nice progress!  But, just to throw a little ice water on your fire…it gets harder as you go.

Wouldn’t mind seeing your head.  You got one, right? :-)

  • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

Chris your’e genious ;D She DID quitted something for sure… maybe big portions ??? :)
I would also like to see her full image… as well :}BTW sorry for posting this Q here but I just have to it real-quick; Is eating/consuming 3 portions of fish/meat in a row (I do: 1pm/lunch=turkey, 4pm/mid-afternoon pre-WO=fish, 8:30/dinner post-WO=fish. so turkey-fish-fish) going to MAKE ONE FAT ?!!?!!? the fish turns out to be REAL cheap for us (0.6$ per portion) so the cost doesn’t really bothers me :) But Im AFRAID it could make me gain fat… :((( I can’t think of any other protein source to eat prior to my WO (Im not sure protein powder would satisfy me & eggs R pretty expensive)SO- what R U guys doing ??? & what kind of post-wo nutition R U consuming ??? please share your routines !!!!!!!thanks……..BR Beth

    Hi Beth,

I was only joking with Alexis!  It can be very complicated as to how a person loses or gains weight.  If you’re having problems as Vivi and others are maybe it’s time for Zuzka and/or Freddy to do a Coffee Talk on portions and what makes sense to eat at what times.

I wouldn’t describe what I do as a routine.  I just eat food and sometimes it’s fish three or four meals in a row.  I get salmon or cod at a good price and cook the whole thing up and use it over the week.  I do the same thing with a whole chicken or turkey parts.

    –Chris

you look fabulous! amazing progress, totally motivates me to keep goingg. can you please give an example of your diet and workout plan. i need your help pleaseeee

  • Eleni Greekteach

I too am curious if you changed your diet and how.  Like Bonnie, something is hanging me up from losing the small extra amounts.  Congratulations on your progress!

  • Andy

Well Done! Your making great progress keep it up. :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

I got several responses indicated in my Discus dashboard over the last several days, but none of them have showed up either there or below in the comments yet.  So thanks to everyone for their feedback, I appreciate it.  I hope they show up, I’d like to read them.  Has anyone else noticed this?

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Steve, THANKS, you’re sharing is really appreciated. I’m a fan of sweet potatoes as well as smoothies, so I’ll try your suggestions on those. I turn 40 soon and I think the metabolism fight is just a bit harder and really takes diligence. I’ve knocked out some of the suspect culprit habits in my diet, namely eating something defined as a small meal instead of snacking on things like cashews here and there when I feel like my energy / blood sugar is low. Making a mental switch is more than half the battle, I know!

  • Fitnessfreaknyc

I said the exact same thing lol… Not sure why everyone on here is so quick to believe this post and ask for diet tips.

  • Fitnessfreaknyc

Again, another thought I had myself. LMAO!!!

  • Thea_G

Wow, that’s amazaing ! My body kinda looks like that before picture…
And i’ve been following Zuzka for a looong time, but i think this made me wanna do it
But then again.. i have alot of scars on my legs, so no matter how much weight i loose
i feel like i’ll never be able to show off my legs again :-(

  • Alexis

Yep. Lost my iPhone. Had to resort to the old handset..

  • Paolo

    Mmmhhhh…..before Iphone 4 and after downgrade Iphone 3 gs…..it’s the same girl….. it’s a joke??

  • Alexis

    thanks :)

  • Alexis

You sound just like me :) good luck xxx

  • Alexis

    I was shy sorry! X

  • Alexis

Hi eszter, i did have to be quite disciplined yes – fat just seems to stick to me like glue, especially to my hips and tummy! but bodyrocking as much as you can pushes you away from the foods that deep down your bodies not really interested in :) you know what’s good for you, good luck :) xxx

  • Samj

30 days? Damn girl you be killin’ it! You look unreal. Keep it up :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Hi Alexis, I just wanted to share a word of caution.  It sounds like you are doing things in moderation, eating right and exercising right.  Still, such a massive change in just 30 days is a big switch for your body.  So just make sure whatever you are doing is sustainable.  When I got married 6 years ago I lost a lot of weight quickly, but I didn’t do it right (like I am now).  As I gained weight back over the years I felt like a failure and I kept struggling to get back to this false measuring stick of health.   So strive to be honest and sustainable in your approach…and hopefully your 30 day results will turn into 30 year results :)

Meghan I just don’t know where to start reading LOL !!!!!!!!!!! THAT’S SO FREAKING AWESOME DID U REALLY TOOK MY DIET PLAN TO A DEEP ANALYSIS ?!?! :D
Sorry if I didn’t sayed it b/f but Im changing my diet everyday too see/test the influence of food on my energy level, etc. Im still Experiencing & it did changed a bit by now :) I can show U the updated version of my meal plan if U wish haha :D & ALSO & very important !!! I include veggies in ALL of my meals !!! (I actually wrote it under the old meal plan) & I vary ‘em throughout the day according the meal (there R also more acidic veggies like tomatoes which R not best combined w/ starches, etc) so the thing is that I actually eats A LOOOT of veggies but I don’t COUNT any of ‘em as carbs !!! (of course, only for non-starchy veggies. there R some exceptions like eggplant, beets, etc…) & ALSO I almost Entirely eliminated all types/kinds of legumes from my diet… just b/c ther’e making me feel uncomfort, bloated & gassy. so I had to do that. no regrets by now :)

BTW !!! yesterday I’ve read this intresting article about post-WO nutrition for max fat loss (which is what I need, by now): http://www.articlesbase.com/nutrition-articles/post-workout-trick-for-maximal-fat-loss-503032.html
Please take a look & let me know what U think !!! thanks :) that might make me to change up a bit my program & drop the post-WO shakes I used to drink, which might have sabotaged my fat loss efforts… we’ll try & see !!! THANKS !!!

    Hi Alexis,

I think in some ways I’m channeling my parents or maybe as I get older I get more like them.  But I know the….”You’re so thin!”  or “You need to eat more!” or “You’ve been sick?” as they all have been said to me by well meaning family.

I was serious about hitting plateaus or slowed progress.  If you are aware of it and take it in stride there is no reason you couldn’t be proud enough to show us your head in a couple months.  :-)

An aside:  I do wonder how Kelly and Kristin are doing.  Wouldn’t mind a little heads up from them whether there is progress or no progress to report.

    –Chris

  • midimidi

Can I say I triple like this comment?! I know how you feel not knowing what to do and being confused.  It’s confusing only because we have been told some very ridiculous things about diet and our bodies.  The body works in ways that are paradoxes:
we need fat to stay skinny.
we need rest to get stronger,
more exercise is not always better.
Not all calories are created  equal
Weight loss might be more about our endocrine system then just our will power or good genes. Maybe our bodies don’t know how to deal with some of these modern ingredients created in labs or genetically modified.  You obviously have the dedication, you’ve been doing this for almost a year and you keep track of almost every bite. We all just wish to see your success!

  • Stephanie Baird

    Thank you ^^ Well said!

  • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

Hahaha :D that’s so true Miriam !!! Yes I did run into those kinda paradoxes which most of the time only make U more confused…. :) I really try to listen zuzka – to just BALANCE everything out but it turns out to be a challenge… I also heard about “acidic foods” & “base foods” or something similiar – that the grains & proteins we eat fall to the “acidic” section & the fruits n’ veggies fall on the “base”… so we need to keep it 50/50… :} so I might say… OK… and… ? :}}} should I compare my overall consumption of fruit-n-veggies to the overall of the acidics ??? I don’t know, I don’t think so. I might do the comparison on my meal plate but the overall wouldn’t be so convenient to compare…

    I seriously don’t know how to thank U guys… U’re causing me hard times :}
    (Im feelin embarrassed already LoL…)

    BR Beth

BTW :) I think I’ve noticed SOME fat loss progression after I ditched my post-WO shakes. those bananas might have being sabotaging my efforts or providing just extra calories & unneccesary fructose… oh here’s another claim I heard not long ago: if U comsume more then 15g of fructose in day, fat loss would turn impossible !!! do U believe it ? it makes some kind of sense to me. U can check it out here: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/07/29/foods-that-keep-you-thin.aspx
it also has a chrat/list w/ the fructose content in the fruits, U gotta take some notes :)

BTW2 – U know what ? Im just SHOCKED how so fast everyone’s gettin’ such miraculous results. I mean, they seems to be so dedicated… :) 1 month ?!?!? I mean.. 1 month !!! :/

That’s funny how all of my BTW’s R always longer then the comment itself LOL :D

    Hi Alexis,

You don’t have to explain yourself!  If people want to see conspiracies or fraud they will see it even where it clearly doesn’t exist.

You rock kid don’t bother with the negative focus on the positive and you will make amazing progress!

    Hi T Romna0706,

Generally if you eat more food you will add weight to your body.

    –Chris

    Hi Bodyrockers,

All of you who doubted Alexis owe her an apology and need to seriously stop looking at object and making false and actually pretty stupid conclusions from the technologies in images!  Let me point out a couple things I noted when I also noticed the older phone in the after image.  The hips and shoulds are in the same location relative  to the navel on the two bodies and the legs are nearly identical knee cap up.  An easy conclusion would be twins, but more likely Alexi had lost some weight and toned up a little.  If she had been less shy you would have had a head to see this, but you know what that can be faked as well.

The different between you folks and myself is I trust Alexis and Zuzka not to lie.  Again, please post an apology!

    –Chris

  • Anonymous

    HiAlli,

Truth is I don’t think I would want folks around who think Alexis would lie based on evidence as slim as a older phone in a later image.

Her progress is nice, but not improbable and I think with some work she will be amazing soon!

I suspect the doubter are in fact just jealous.

    –Chris

  • michelle

really??  way too much time on your hands.LOl you need to go to a burpee now…..

  • Bodyrocker_Audra

Hey Alexis, you look great!  It is possible to see this type of transformation in 4 weeks with a clean strict diet.  Pay no attention to the negativity.  I noticed since Zuzka and Freddy’s seperation there have been an increase in these types of comments.  These would not have made it past Zuzka’s moderation.

  • Anonymous

I agree, you look great.  Stay healthy!! :)

  • http://www.terrydillner.net Terrylillyd

Wonderful job Alexis! You look stunning! And I can totally tell it’s you in both pictures ;-) Although the upper thighs are now a bit thinner, it’s the same legs and knees and overall shape of the legs in both pictures ;-) You’ve done great you should be so proud!

  • Anonymous

    Hi Dcelkins,

You owe her an apology and this wasn’t a debate it was you calling someone a faker on very slim evidence  and poor thinking on your part!  Next time look at the body in question and not the phone!  Alexis is a human with feelings.

Alexis, you don`t need to prove anything to anyone. As long as you`re happy with your results (which you should!), don`t pay attention to what other people say :). I just thought the phone thing was weird, but like other`s have mentioned, weight loss is very personal, and who are we to judge?

    Great job!

  • Longline30

Regardless of the phone, looks like the same belly button to me. Why lie about it when you there is no prize involved lol

  • Longline30

  • Dedawn1

you look great dont pay any attention to haters, GREAT job!!!

  • Carrie

Congratulations Alexis – very inspiring and motivating to see what 30 days of commitment can do, and it’s great to hear you haven’t had to massively change your eating habits to get there. I read one of your comments about portion control – this is something I need to focus on too (plus the daily cake quota!) but seeing your progress has given me hope! That six-pack will be yours in no time if you stick with it. Good luck, and ignore the doubters – they’re just jealous unfortunately

  • Anonymous

Why do people like to bring someone down when that person is doing so well? We should be supporting her, if anything. Not talk about her phones!

Ignore all the negative comments. I just wanna say that you’re doing great Alexis! and I salute you for that. It takes discipline to get to that point. Keep Bodyrocking! =)

  • Pamela

too bad it’s not. way to be a supportive bodyrocker.

  • Pamela

They must be jealous. What has this community turned into? Real bodyrockers would be supporting each other. I know if I was Alexis I would be so disappointed, and honestly wouldn’t want to come back because I don’t need that kind of negativity, I’d go somewhere else. That is so disrespectful, people can’t appreciate or understand that it takes CONSISTENT hard work and determination to see results. I saw similar results to her in one month by eating healthy and eating smaller portions. It works. You just have to actually do it, not think about it.

  • Anonymous

    Hi Pamela,

I think these hateful comments were moderated before and we just see them now because of that being lowered.  A strong community can weather nonsense of this sort easily and Alexis should know she has 100 percent of my support just as anyone trying to make progress does.

What I don’t get is how a person who was wrong and who now knows it doesn’t have the courage to admit it and openly apologize.  In my eyes a person big enough to see they wronged someone and admits it deserves my respect.  If you can’t make the effort to be polite and kind you are a waste of my time folks and I and others will remember this when you ask a question or need our help!

    –Chris

  • Anonymous

    Hi Healthnut,

Several times I was going to reply to you and thought better of it.  What is amusing about your observation is it is the very reason we workout.  We look younger and healthier.  That you think it’s  a different person is only good in the metaphysical sense that she is a different person as we all are.  Make more progress and maybe you will be a better different person who doesn’t jump to conclusions and doubt your fellow bodyrockers truthfulness!

    –Chris

  • Anonymous

Hi Alexis, I seriously don’t think those folks who wrote the nonsense thought of your feelings which should be the first thing if you’re bodyrocking and helping others to bodyrock.

An apology would be the right thing to do you who wronged Alexis!

    –Chris

  • Aimee

Less tummy and upper thigh fat? I wanna do whatever you’re doing! Good to see a Brit showing their progress :) I’m guessing iphones don’t break/get stolen as often in the US, pretty much every week one of my friends is getting theirs replaced.

  • Aimee

Just want to add that I don’t think it’s unrealistic if she’s cut out a lot of junk and thrown herself into the workouts. A lot of people experience great results at the start of a new regime. She’s probably lost a few lbs of bloating due to eating less carbs and a few lbs of fat, if that all comes off a few areas then it can look like a big change and mean losing a whole clothing size!

  • Anonymous

    Hi Sweetcherry2,

Lots of things effect our efforts. You really need to control your diet and put 100 percent into the workouts. I’m not saying you’re not, just these two things are major. We each have differences to our bodies and some folks just lift a weight a few times and have huge muscle while others really pump the iron everyday and see virtually no change. It sometimes take a lot of patience! :-)

We are here to help you in anyway we can

    .–Chris

  • Vanessa

Awesome.. :o) great job girl !

  • ۞ BodyRocker ♥ Beth ۞

I don’t know how many Carbs I should be eating in my pre-wo meals.
    I think that’s the main problem. that’s it… should I include carbs w/ every single meal ???

& Im talking complex, starchy, grainy.

  • Vanessa

Hey! How many times do you work out per week and how many hours? Also which workouts you been doing? I’m only about to start bodyrocking tonight! I would love to get the same results as you and as fast as you did. Keep it up! Cheers xx

  • Kishouh

You look great Alexis! Keep up the good work!

PS–I had an iphone 4 and now have an iphone 3. My phone broke and couldn’t really replace it–so I downgraded to my old one that still works.

  • marquita yager

I can DEFINITELY attest to the fact that progress like this is completely possible! It all depends on what you eat, your own personal metabolism, and how (and how often) you exercise. I’m certainly not in the best shape of my life right now (which is why I’m here), but two years ago I grabbed a kickboxing dvd and some vegetables and worked my ass off for two months straight of eating better and doing that dvd (45 minutes, SAME workout every time) 6/7 days a week. In that mere 60 days I went from a not-so-healthy size 12/14 to a happy, healthy, shapely and comfortable size 6. I didn’t starve myself because I happen to LOVE cheese and pizza and meat, I still had a few drinks a week, I barely did anything remotely conceivable as exercise outside that dvd, and sure as hell I STILL got comments on my weight loss. Most notably, a fantastic friend taking a look at me in my new business slacks and snug sweater remarking, “DAMN GIRL, you got hella skinny!” No one noticed MY new phone, so what the heck is the problem with this girl’s?

  • Anonymous

    Hi JoLo,

Hum,  there has always been a few negative comments.  What is different is the type and frequency. I think now we should just flag them and not comment.  At least this is how I will try to act.

99.9 percent of us are 100 percent supportive so having read other similar communities I think we are still quite unusual and fun!

    –Chris

  • stefv32

ugh you are gorgeous Alexis both before and after. I know it has been said on here but please don’t let anyone upset you. Jealousy probably. And plus if they are looking that hard at the phone, then they are not looking in the right place. And you should absolutely not be shy about showing your face because you are super lovely!! Keep up the good work!! Love seeing tall girls’ progress! (I’m 6 feet :)

  • Jennifer

I know a lot of people who in high school weighed more, had bigger chests and since that time (15 years later), have lost weight and went from a C chest down to an A.  It is usually the first place women lose weight.  That is why they have women specific supplements out there that are suppose to protect our hormones to prevent chest size loss when losing weight.

  • crossfitchica

You look AMAZING! Also I scrolled down and saw the before and after of your full body and girl, I BELIEVE YOU! I’m ordering my Dip station tomorrow and totally rocking it! ALSO coming from a girl that has had a 34F and after 6 weeks of crossfit I am now a 34DD I can tell you that BOOBS DO SHRINK, peeps. Believe it or not some of us women DO gain weight in our boobs and that’s the first place I always lose it! I started crossfit to avoid a reduction and will be adding body rock to push myself even further. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Oufinny

Excellent progress, you look totally different and should be proud of the body you have created now.

    Hi Esmeralda6452,

What exactly where you trying to subscribe to?

You took the first steps and that is important!   So tell us how and why you think you are unsuccessfully in loosing weight?  If you read some of what Zuzka and Freddy have written here you would be well on the way to success.   But, you need to work hard on this and be committed to small goals that have the common goal of your happiness.

Take care and next time try all lower case. :-)

    –Chris

  • Jimitiger

Well Done! Keep up the good work, this is for you and not anyone else. Do it for you, what you doing is working, keep that as the motivation.
You will always have negative people and people who think it is their right it offer their option, but remember, that it all it is.
You look great, let the others post their results!
    Good on you for sharing…..

  • Chrisfaedo

Girl you look great! I can only hope that I look like you one day! Also the brain surgeons who doubt you dont seem to get that boobs are made of fat…. when you lose weight you loose BOOB!!

You look great! truely an inspiration!

  • Paul Robinson

First off, Alexis -top job mate. You’re kicking arse! Keep it up & keep us updated on your progress. Keep your nutrition tight & your 6-pack will start popping through soon.

Secondly, I can see you’ve had a few muppets making negative comments here. Only you can decide who’s opinions really matter. I’d say forget them -their comments are very anti-bodyrocker & just plain dumb. Don’t let them bring you down or turn you off your goals. It takes a lot of guts to post your photos up. You’re a champ in my book mate.

training your abs will not make the fat disappear. you have to have a negative energy balance (ie eat a little less than you burn) to lose fat.

Wow… I’m appalled at all the negative comments on this. Seriously? 1) Why would you assume someone is posting fake results? Jealous much? 2) Why would you openly debate her progress where she could see it? How would you feel in her position? 3) WHY is this even being questioned when she posted pix of herself AGAIN with her face exposed? What more do you want? 4) And lastly, why be so bothered by another person’s post when you should be focusing on your own health? Fired up? BURPEE IT UP!

    *Simple* questions for *simple* people.

Ok, I have been following BodyRock for 2 years now, and I’ve NEVER seen the comments so aggressive and cruel on this site. All I have to say, is CONGRATS, Alexis! You look amazing and you probably worked your arse off for it (literally). The beginning is always is the hardest, but you pushed through it and you look amazing. Don’t let these twats get the best of you.
