Merry Christmas! Routines #9-12 of the 12 Workouts of Christmas

Hi BodyRockers,

First we would all like to wish all BodyRockers and their families a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Well this is it !! We are there !! We have all pushed soooo hard this christmas. The 12 day of Christmas Workouts have kept us on track and focused our diets and as Santa feeds his reindeer and get’s ready to deliver your sandbags, dip stations, interval timers and Official BodyRocker T-Shirts you asked him for you only have four more 4 minute workouts to demolish before that well deserved Christmas Pudding you have worked so hard for is all yours :).

At this time of year there are many people who don’t have anyone to share christmas with & some of you are away from friends, family and loved ones. Take a moment today and send a message or make a phone call and remind those that are dear to you that you are blessed to have them in your life – and if you can, show your love to someone less fortunate than yourself – you will be surprised how much a small gesture of kindness can make someones day especially over the holiday season.

We will be back between Christmas and New Years with a new stretching and warm up routine for you guys because it’s been a really long time since we have updated these and we want to have these in place because starting January 1st 2012 we are going to be back here BodyRocking together and bringing you guys new routines Monday-Friday. We have a lot of wonderful plans for 2012 and getting into the best shape of our lives is just the beginning.

On a personal note I feel very blessed to be part of a community of such enthusiastic, positive, loving and supportive BodyRockers. Even tho we are spread all over the world and come from different backgrounds and cultures this is very much like an extended family and you guys never cease to make me smile and lift up my spirits. I wish each and everyone of you all the happiness, success and love that you so deserve.

As always enjoy your training and keep rocking.

Freddy

P.S. Please connect with us on Facebook here so that you are in the loop for the new 2012 workouts!!!

    Zuzanko, where are you? :(

  • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

Happy holidays for everyone! :) Thanks Guys for great works! :)

  • Shadow_Dance

Merry Christmas! Thanks a ton for the new workout!

  • Mabv812

Santa brought me a dip station, a sand bag, and a timer. Time to start bodyrocking!

  • Kellyring888

What is the name of the pant s you are wearing?

    Thx,
    Kellu

  • Jax

Where are those pink pants from? Not lululemon..i Can’t find them on the lululemon website…I want them!!!!

  • Rose

Oh Sean, I can’t stop laughing, I love your pants!!!

  • luv2bhealthy

Lisa, your workouts are awesome, and you are a bit cheeky and quirky!  A good combination all around.  I am also glad you have real breasts!  Yay!

  • Rose

I really enjoyed watching these workouts and especially like the way Lisa explains the variations for beginners, it’s much appreciated!!

  • Pamela

I hate to sound like troll, but that last sentence was totally uncalled for. (the one before Yay). I don’t see why whether or not someone’s choice to have implants or to stay natural would affect your joy/happiness; are you implying that the fact that Zuzana has implants bugs you? It’s true when they say that you can’t please everyone, huh. How about this: judge a person based off of their character and not off of their breasts. Be a true bodyrocker, eh?

    Hi Dorota,

Maybe what would be better is wishing Zuzka and Freddy, Sean, Jess, Kyla and Lisa-Marie all the merriest day and very happy New Year!

  • Anonymous

    Hi Pamela,

Please, don’t do this! You should have just ignored the slight and let sleeping dogs lie.

    –Chris

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

    Fantastic final four…thank you!!

  • http://delightfultastebuds.com Jos

I did the Ab bonus and made it 9 rounds to make it a total 9 minute ab burn! A very nice little Christmas present for me since I’ve been sitting on my bums for the entire day!!
    Circle abs 23-20-21
    V ups (L) 30-26-22
    V ups (R) 29-23-22
Numbers were approximate cause I forgot to have a pen nearby.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!!

  • Bodyrocker_Audra

Oh, between yesterdays prime rib dinner and todays lasagna & meatballs, and red wine ugh, I know, not very Bodyrocker diet friendly, but Christamas only comes once a year lol! I am gonna save these last workouts for tomorrow morning.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QJJI6SPNRUINPFKBU6S6TX6LJI Pav

Awesome workouts! Thanks Lisa, Sean and Freddy! Enjoy the rest of the year guys! (Lisa I hope you will stay! :)

    :( …

  • Pamela

You’re so right, sometimes I let my impatience/annoyances get the best of me. Thank you for watching out for me :)

  • Anonymous

    Hi Pamela,

There is no harm in being a little impatience among good bodyrockers as long as we understand that it’s just our love of the community that makes us so. That luv2bhealthy likes Lisa’s breasts is nice. Luv2bhealthy could have phrased it a little more diplomatically, but hey she does have some nice ones. You guys have all the really cool “equipment” which makes me kind of jealous! :-)

    –Chris

  • Vala

Oh come on… can’t we even miss Zuzana anymore without everybody thinking it means criticizing Lisa-Marie, Freddy and Sean?
Zuzana hasn’t been featured on the site for a longer time now, I miss her like crazy as well!

Nevertheless I still like the new workouts and I still wish Freddy, Sean and the new hosts a merry christmas!

I kind of don’t think Zuz will read thios, but I wish her merry Christmas and a wonderful new year too.

  • Anonymous

    Marry Christmas everyone!
Please answer me this question – should squats be done all the way down or only half way down?
    thanks!

  • Anonymous

    Hi Vala,

Where does this interpretationon come from? Did I say I don’t miss Zuzka or that I don’t miss her presence here? Zuzka knows how to post here and how to comment. Nobody is stopping her from being an active contributor, but herself!

    –Chris

  • http://ladneslowa.wordpress.com/ Dorota T.

    HI Chris. :) You’re right.
Like Vala, I also like new workouts, new host etc. I wish all the best for everyone who is a BodyRockes. :) But we’re a big family (yeah?;) ) and in Christmas time all the more I miss her. I know, she may do what she really want. :) It’s great, because everyone here is free and nobody can push someone to write, to smile, to give ones time if she wanted to spend her time in her own way. I don’t even think she would leave us! Nothing like this. :)

    Greetings,

    Dorotka

  • Anonymous

she said the pants are new from lululemon, the bra, nike reversible.

  • Vala

    Hey Chris,
I’m sorry, your post was kind of the straw to break the camels back. You’re right that Zuzana could post anytime she wanted to. Still I feel that every comment about missing her is immediately commented with comments like yours, which are to me: “ignore that Zuz is away, smile about everything you have” – I do appreciate everything we have here :) Still I miss Zuz and I just don’t see why people think one can do only the one or the other. Why not just let Dorota miss Zuz? Why instructing her what she should do instead?
But maybe I interpreted to much into your answer.
So, happy christmas to you as well!

  • Anonymous

hi everyone!  hope you all have/had a good holiday season, whichever one you may celebrate, and good day to anyone who doesn’t celebrate a holiday!

workouts look great, I will be trying to work this in over the next couple days!  I haven’t done any bodyrocking in three days!  bad girl lol!  Friday I was so tired from work, sat I was so busy trying to get everything ready for christmas, well and today there was no room in my house!  ha ha!  I did play for about 15 min on my sister in laws ab circle exercise machine!  ha ha!  always wanted to try one because they just looked kind of fun! lol  I guess it would be for a short time,  but it’s definately not made for short people!  when you try to do the legs apart version, you end up having to do some sort of splits!  hilarious!

I was planning on doing some longer workouts this week, to work off the chocolate!  lol
planning to do the workout that You as a Machine posted a while back, consists of burpees, mountain climbers, and jump lunges, 7 rounds start at 5 reps each, then 10 reps, then 15, then 20, then go back down.    so if I survive this (lol) I will try Roc Me Out afterwards!

As for the site – this is freddy and sean’s site (and zuzana’s?) and they can post anything they like.  if everyone is willing to pose in whatever position, in whatever clothing, they are all adults, and it would be nice if we could just do the workouts.  I’ll post my scores when I’m done!

thank you for the new workouts!
    see you tomorrow!  good night!

  • Annebel Wind

    Hi there,

first of all Marry X-mas to all…

Well, today is 3 weeks that I have been “out of order”..and I did my first after accident bodyrock workout..I did “the one that got away”..and I did it twice, back to back..4 minutes,3 minutes bonus, and once again..
My scores are not important, the important thing to me was to start,to watch my form, and be very concentrated on my knees and back…
    It was hard,but I did it…and now I feel so much better…

    have a nice day!!!!

    kisses to you all

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Take care of you ;) You have to begin slowly, after pain on knees & back mainly.
It’s true that we are so “fine” after workouts. Go to your rythm and you’ll ROCK harder later ;-D

    Squat and shoulder press:

Wow!  What a workout indeed!  I finished up with the Abs Bonus and I am feeling goooooood!!!  I plan on taking the other 4 Min workouts they posted and turning them into 12 min and 16 Min torture sessions, on a different day of course.  I love the energy Lisa brings, and Sean is a goof ball.  I had to laugh out loud when I saw his pants.  HAHAHA!!  Great sense of humor.  Keep it coming.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I’m no doctor, but it sounds like your physiotherapist doesn’t know what he’s talking about.  I do know that he’s definitely wrong about BodyRock not doing anything for your core.  You can speculate all you want, but if there is one thing BodyRock is GREAT at, it is strengthening your core.  I, personally, am on my way to a nice 6 pack after 6 months of BRing.

I would say you should definitely rest until your injuries are healed, and like you say, maybe do some stuff that isn’t as stressful, like some ab exercises.  Once you feel you can BodyRock again, do so, but just pay GOOD attention to your body.  Modify so you are not putting as much stress on your knees, and in time, they’ll get more flexible and stronger.  I think working out 6 times a week is fine as long as some of those days are just short 12 min workouts, and you just listen to your body.  Oh!  And KEEP GOOD FORM.  That will prevent injury.  Zuzana is by far the best at this, so watch her closely in her videos.

Get better!  I’m sorry you have so much conflicting information,  Happy Holidays!

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I’ve heard a lot of people say that they bought old walkers and use that as a dip station.  I found a bunch online for just $30 or so.  And sometimes you can find one at a secondhand store.  I’m in the US, but I don’t have a lot of money, so that’s what I’m going to try–a walker!

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

Yeah–Zuzana would go all the way down, but Lisa Marie only goes down until her thighs are parallel.  It would be great if someone addressed this, but I can just say that going all the way down is harder, but it’s hard on the knees, so if you have knee issues or are just starting out, then maybe just go halfway.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Happy New Year everybody!  I want to do this workout but I don’t have a dip station or a dip station alternative.  I wanted to find a walker, esp one that folds so I can store it away, but I have yet to find one yet.  I use chairs for somethings, but I can’t lift myself up on them without killing my hands.  Yesterday we did Get It On again for a great Christmas workout before a big meal.  Today, my body is kind of screaming for some greens!

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

new features? personal BRs blogs? where have they all gone.. ?!

Most awesome workout ever! I loved this one, my legs and abs are killing me! i am so shaky. I love bodyrock! it has changed my life!

  • JessJN

When I worked in the hospital I would wear workout tank under my scrubs, bring shorts, then quickly change at lunch (if I had time) & either walk around the grounds (1-2 miles, run, or climb stairs & do leg lifts, push-ups, sit-ups up there.  It was the only thing I had time for on workdays, but I figured a 10 -20 min quick stair climb or walk was better than nothing….& that was before Bodyrock.  I workout at lunch still, but now I do Bodyrock.  I hope it calms down at work for you!

  • JessJN

Maybe while you are healing you could do some yoga or Pilates to strengthen your core so that once you are healed up, you will be about ease back into BR safely.

hey guys!  did my boxing day workout from You as a Machine!  thank you – You!  last time I did it I died after 4 rounds!  ha ha!  today I finished!  yah!  plus I did Roc me Out!  2 rounds!  I am so dead!  My arms are so toast!  on a bright note I did 93 pushups! (not all full)
I used a 6 lb medicine ball for all the weight and it was so heavy!  ha ha!  my pushups were not elevated either!

    Roc me out
    weighted prisoner low jacks – 39, 20
    puhups with 2 reptiles – 7, 6
    alternating weighted squats – 9.5 ,7
lunge & press – 8, 9 (this was counting each side! not both!  ha ha!)

got to go have a shower and head off for more merry making!

Oh and I did a burpee for erin after each workout!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Hey Gwyn, hang in there :)  Get good sleep, and eat your spinach (worked for Popeye anyway to fight Brutus…)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

I almost took another rest day today since I really hammered on my quads & bum before Christmas, but I jumped back in today.  I just didn’t do all of the exercises yet that are quad-intensive and that was a good move.  I did enough to get my muscles loosened up and my head back in the game.  I want to take the last week of the year on with anti-Brutus brutality :)

    Workout #9 – Lisa’s Rock Me Out
Used a 25lb SB and maybe I should have gone lighter since I was sore.
Weighted Prisoner Squat Jumps – 42
Elevated PUs with Knees – 10 (used a chair, not my Ugi)
    Alt. Weighted Squats – 19
    Lunge & Press – 8 (25lbs felt pretty hard)

    Workout #10 – Lisa’s Dip Station WO
1 Push Up with Leg Extension on D.S. – 7.5
1 Tuck Ab & Body Lift – 9 (awkward, I felt like a swinging monkey)
1 Triceps Dip & 1 V-Ab Split – 9 (no toe assistance, did mini dips, this is progress for me)
Reverse PushUps – 20 (8 with feet elevated, then I kicked the chair away)

    Abs Workout
Circle Abs over Ugi – 26 (my lower back always feels strained in these type moves and I have to stop. Suggestions?)
    V-Ab crunch (L) – 22  / (R) 24

    100 Push Up Challenge:
10 sets of Double Dandies (combo: 2 elevated PU & 2 knee raises)
20 sets of 5 mountain climbers + 1 regular PU
    20 staggered hands PUs
20 regular PUs on 3lb handweights, did alternating row with each PU
    20 narrow (Lisa style)

    Cheers, All!!

I absolutely love these mix n’ match four minute workouts. Perhaps it’s just the holiday season, but I haven’t been feeling much up to long workouts, so these four minute sessions really hit the spot. Although I don’t feel like interval training for a full 12-20 minutes I do find myself pushing really hard through these 4 minutes and then adding in another 4 minutes and whatever bonuses you guys have for that day. I know these workouts won’t last forever, but I’m enjoying them while they last. :)

    Hi tee_w,
thanks for the mention…glad you liked the workout enough to keep it in your roster!
    Happy Holidays!

  • JessJN

    12/26/11
I wanted a long workout today, since I indulged in so much delicious Xmas food yesterday.

I did all 3 workouts & the ab bonus twice with a very short break in between rounds, then the 100 leg lifts, then ran a little.  I feel like I have excised some of my holiday toxins…

I carried my dynamax ball & dip station today, so I subbed dumbbells for the sandbag squat & the ball for all the other SB exercises

40   44  Prisoner Squat Jacks with 8# ball
    11  (2k)  9.5 (5.5k)  regular pushups + 2 reptiles
20   20  30# [total] dumbbell squats, held at shoulders
14   13  8# fitball fwd lunges, alt.  (1/2 of round two I did twists)

9    7(2k) hanging knee raise burpee
10  11  crunch + seated pull up (knees bent & on ground)
11  11  tricep dip (1-foot assist for all but 2 in each round) + core split
    15  15  reverse pushup

    7    6.5  capoeira scorpion PU + pushup
20  17 step ups, LT on bench
6     6  capoeira scorpion PU + pushup (3 of round 2 PU from knees)
19  18  step ups, RT on bench

25   28  circle abs with ball
    25   23  LT side crunch
    24   24  RT side crunch

    100 leg lifts: 4:59
+ 1 ninja jump tuck burpee

    + 21 min run, 16 = 60/60sec slow/fast run, the rest = walk

    Thanks BR team :)

  • Anonymous

you’re welcome!  after I almost died last time, ha ha! I was determined to finish it!  burpees are so hard!  It got easier on the way down!  I also needed to work off the calories!

  • http://www.youasamachine.com You As A Machine

I’ve gone back in time to revisit the workouts I did a year ago to the day. Todays’ was my own combination of BR exercises. I called this one Overhaul It All.

Time Challenge. Repeat the entire sequence 2x.

    1. 100 skips – Legs together skipping with rope

    2. 10 Reps – Left Leg Forward + Backward Lunges w/sandbag on Right shoulder

    Switch sandbag to Left shoulder

10 Reps – Right Leg Forward + Backward Lunges w/sandbag on Left shoulder

    3. 100 skips – side to side hops w/legs glued together

    4. 10 Reps – Knee Ups w/ Dip Stand

    5. 100 skips – High Knees

    6. 20 Reps – Alternating sides Sleeping Crab

I completing this sequence twice in 11:10. Last year it took me 13:31.

    Hello!
Happy Holidays to everyone! :) My Chrismas was wonderfull!!! AND I also received my Bodyrock t-shirt by the mail on december 22nd!!! :)

Today I did a mix of workouts: In the morning, I did the Roc me Out workout and one round of Ab Workout. In the evenig, I did the Feels so Good workout (3 times), the Leg workout, and another round of Abs Workout.

    Roc me Out: 51, 9 1/2, 16, 10

Ab workout (did this one twice) : (25, 22,22) (27,22,22)

Feels so good (did this one 3 times): (7,7,7), (9,7,10), (8,6,6), (15,16,15)  And on the last reps of the tricep dip and V ab, I managed to do a real dip, but a little one… I’m gonna get there!!!

And I aslo did the bonus leg workout.

I must say, that I needed this, after 3 days of rest and of chrismas food and treats! ; )

  • Elena Ioan

Nice routine!!! I will try it soon! :)

Zuzka…. I wanted you to know that my mother thought the right pic of your page is too lean and the left is just right. I filled her in on the fact that the pics are the same just different angles and I think she got it. Love you Zuzka and miss you lots <3 Love you too Lisa-Marie and Sean for doing such a phenomenal job filling in.

  • Jules

lol….chill people, let’s try to keep the comments about the workouts and be positive.

  • Alina

    Hello, msia!

I had almost the same situation. I got problems with my health of pushing myself too hard. But it was completely my fault – I am slim and vegan, so there was no necessity for me to push myself so hard with BR. These workouts are great for the fat loss which I don’t need at the moment.

They are also great for building your muscles, BUT. All these jumping exercises can be hard on your back and knees until you have solid muscles to support your back and knees. So, what I think, you should still BR, but 2-3 times per week, modifying the workouts (so, if there is a Jump Squat – do just squats, Jump Lunges – Lunges, etc), I would also recommend you pilates for strong core  - I am following blogilates.com, it is completely free and has a variety of pilates workouts. I have been BR for a long time, but I never felt my core as much as I felt after full pilates session. But again it was because of me as I paid more attention to my legs and glutes while BRing.

Also you can have some yoga classes – stretching helps a lot. Try to find a good specialist, explain him your situation and it is very likely that he would have an individual program for you that you can follow.

Walking is also great. Right now I walk at least one full hour on good speed with my dog through the snow in the forest – it is a great cardio and absolutely harmless for my back.

Of course, all this takes more time than one BR session – that what really got me. I had amazing results in no time. But I admit I overtrained. So, right now I understand that it is better to combine walking, stretching, pilates, yoga, light BR.

So, this is my opinion based on my own experience!

I wish you happy and healthy holidays!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

This was great!  I was dying at the end.  We just did Sean’s bodyweight one and Lisa’s first workout, and did them twice for a total of 16 minutes.  I used my 35lb sandbag except on the low jacks, which I used a 20lb weight in a pillow (35lb is too much for me for that).  I also got my shoulders so burned on the fwd and bwd squats that when I got to the lunges I could only do a few before modifying.  The first time through I just did the lunges without any weight.  The second time I modified by doing jump lunges.  I then took a few minutes after the 16 straight to catch my breath before moving on to the abs!  I didn’t do the leg extra–my legs are good for now!

push up and bunny hop: 7-7.5
    step up L: 30-25
push up and bunny hop: 7-7
    step up R: 28-24

    low jacks w/20lb: 32-30
elevated pu with 2 reptiles: 10-12
squats, fwd and bwd with 35 lb: 19-14lunge fwd and press: 4 reg, 10 no weight-6 reg, 14 jump lunges

    circle abs: 30
    side crunch L: 27side crunch R: 24

Now I want a REAL dip station more than EVER!  I don’t have a lot of money–I was planning on trying to find a walker, or maybe make one out of pvc piping (though I don’t know anything about that), but maybe I’ll just buy myself a Christmas present and take advantage of the sales going on for a $80 dip station.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

    Hi Annebel,
A bit of a Push Up challenge was generated about two weeks ago…I had been complaining of almost falling on my face from Reptile PUs and BR’er Gerri Lee suggested challenge of doing 100 PUs a day. The goal is to do 5 sets of 20 push ups, anything goes, and in any way throughout the day. I tend to do them all at once instead of breaking them up, either before or after a workout. I can mostly get through a straight set of 20 but for harder ones like Reptiles or DiveBombers I try to make myself push to 10, take a breather and do the next set. It actually goes a lot faster than you would think…I haven’t been timing it but it only takes but a few minutes for a set of 20. Lots of BR’ers have joined in on the push up party…its fun, and I tell you its definitely working for me. Not only for my arms, but totally in my abs too. Today I had no energy to do a full workout, but those 100 pushups helped get my energy moving again and just mentally its always a big boost to do those. Want to give it a try? I’m now a push-up pusher…haha

  • Annebel Wind

Hi Bonnie (this is olso my mothers name, funny),
I think I will give it a try.. Nice to have a challenge like this again… thanx
    And keep on rocking!

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

I was thinking I would try the same 3 circuit approach on this workout. Usually when I do a new workout I feel like its just awkward and I do poorly – its nice to go back and dig into it after I’ve figured out what to do :)

I also designed and built a metal pipe dip station which I still use and it is found here:  http://www.bodyrock.tv/2010/03/18/a-homebuilt-dip-station/

    Hi Eleni,

I did this one with you in April.  At that time I was just doing regular and wide ones….not like this time…everyone is so creative  LOL
Anyway, I completed 6720 push ups in the month of April.  It was a great challenge.  The other difference is in that challenge we were counting our work out push ups towards our totals.  this time the extra 100 is stand alone….

Sean, I love that you are unabashed about saying ‘oh well’ with the pants, which are hilarious. You’re with family, doesn’t matter. :) By the way, my four year old saw your video – and said, “Jesus Christ! He looks like a werewolf.” Not sure if it’s the grizzly facial hair or high-waisted pants.

  • Anonymous

Did this one today. I’ve changed it up a bit. Did all three Lisa’s workouts, Sean’s I’ll do tomorrow along with his Don’t Stop Until You’re Hot workout. For the Roc Me Out & Feels So Good parts I set my timer for 8 rounds of 10/50, so I did 8minutes of each. Then did 3 min of abs and Butt as well.
Man those side leg lifts knee tucks were amazing!!!! I wanted to quit after 20 reps, but I whoooshed it :D, and powered through! Did Butt squeezes again, and additional 20 min of skipping, and I feel BRILLIANT!!! :D

Thank you guys! Freddy for everything you do and time you invest in shooting and editing of the videos, Sean and Lisa for incredible effort and enthusiasm you show in the videos, you guys rock!!
Wish you all the best, have a blast during the holidays, hope to see you soon!
Zuzka wish you all the best as well, enjoy your time with family and friends!!

    Keep on rocking BodyRockers!! ;)

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I would just like to mention that the Bodyrock Journal that has been all of the facebook pages was created by and sent to Sean and Freddy by BodyRocker_Bonnie …so let’s give her a big round of applause for a job well done

    hey everyone!

just finished my workout for today!
was planning on doing ab-tastic exercise challenge but only got through one round as I had a wicked headache and skipping wasn’t gonna work!  ha ha!
so I switched to It will rain sweat – 1000 rep challenge concentrating on keeping going and doing my best form possible!  managed to get through 5 rounds this time!  yay for me!  I used a 8lb medicine ball for the jump squats.  34 min & 23 sec
after I died out from that I was going to put my dip station away but then decided to give lisa’s feels so good workout a shot.  I decided to do it as a tabata – 8 rounds 10 sec & 20 sec

    pushup & knee raise – 3, 2.5
    tuck ab & body lift – 5.5, 4
    tricep dip & core split – 3.5, 3
    elevated reverse pullups – 8, 8

I am very proud that every single one of the tricep dips was done without putting a foot down! 57 of them! cool!

    burpee for erin too!

on a oops! note I kind of forgot about doing the pushup challenge so I will have to get back on that!

I did pretty good for having a wicked headache!  and its gone now!

    Hi Marie_US,

You’re absolutely right Pamela sure could of told me to mind my own business and I do the same sort of thing as she did all the time.  Your point? :-)  Let me mention that I’m human and do these imprefect things a lot.  Did I say have some great Holidays, Marie and happy New Year?

    Hi Dorota,

Thank you for being a sport and friend and not reacting like these other folks.  I meant you no harm and also miss Zuzana.  It’s just expressing it doesn’t seem to get her to do anything.  Zuzana it appears is to busy with more important things than us and bodyrock.tv.

How long does it take to post a short comment here…maybe two minutes…a Merry Christmas everyone would have gone a long way…

  • ♥ BodyRocker Rachel ♥

I was thinking the same thing. She promised not to disappear. She said she’d do Coffee Talks and recipes, but she’s been gone forever! I’m totally with you on this. Yeah, the new hosts are great and we’re lucky to have them, but this site is all about support and honesty. One should be able to express how much they miss Zuzana without having people jump all over them for it. We’re all BodyRockers here and one of our leaders is MIA. It’s definitely a cause for concern. And sadness :(

  • Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I hear everything everyone has had to say, and YES, I miss Zuzka terribly, but you know how it is when you go away and visit family (or whatever) for a few weeks–you want to get out of the way of everything and just be yourself.  She’ll be back soon–I have confidence in that.  Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt and wish her Happy Holidays.  I can imagine it must be difficult, albeit when you set yourself up as a public figure, to just take time to do your thing.
I miss Z too, and because we’re so used to her being a regular part of the site it’s a shock when she’s not here, but I like to turn those feelings of worry, concern, etc., aside (I feel them too) and then remember that she’s a person who has a whole life outside of what I know her life to be, and to then just wish that she knows she is missed.  I think it must be the best of all worlds to know that your baby has been strong enough to pass on to other wonderful hosts (as it has!) and yet also know that you are still missed for your individual flavor and originality and spirit.  So wherever you are Zuzana, I hope that you are living life to the fullest and just know that we love you and miss you, in spite of BodyRock still thriving and moving forward.  Those things are not mutually exclusive.

    xoxo Kendra

and the Happiest of New Years to you!!!  May you get everything you dream of.  You deserve it. :)

  • Kendra Lee Oberhauser

For some reason i can’t post on my Facebook account, but that’s okay.  At any rate, I’m super excited because I got a walker today, which means I can finally do a bunch of the dip station stuff!!!  Yayyyy.  Eventually I imagine I’ll get a dip station (the walker has a couple bars across here and there), but for now it is SUCH a step up from my kitchen chairs!

  • Anonymous

How cool! Enjoy your new workout stuff :)

  • Anonymous

Everybody is missing Zuzka I think Freddy and all the new hosts know that we miss her like crazy by now. But come on Bodyrock Family let support Freddy in this!!! We are Bodyrockers!! I had a break down too and started workout out somewhere else, but I missed to do bodyrocking so much and came back. I’m back!! I love Zuzka and I hope she will be back for her amazing recipes, diet and coffee talks, but if she isn’t than we are still the Bodyrock Family and support Freddy and the new hosts because that’s what family is all about isn’t it? Sometimes things are not going our way…we get hurt…we cry…but we stand up again and make it work…the bodyrock family sticks together like glue. So let’s stop leaving comments only about missing Zuzka (Freddy knows we miss her by now, but we can not forse anyone into doing things because we want to), because it is about the workouts isn’t it? Let’s make Bodyrock.tv the biggest fitness home environment around the world!!

Come on Bodyrock family give this comment a LIKE if you a true Bodyrocker. Let’s grap each others hands and give Freddy our support!

  • Kathy_Bodyrock

Well said, BarbaraLoyoya! I totally agree with you!!!

I really enjoy staying up late and sleeping in during my holiday – but it makes me sleep my precious morning hours away. I’ll have to work on that :) I did Seans bodyweight workout x 3 plus some abs and butt exercises. I really felt the burn in my thighs during round 2 of Sean’s, some real thigh killer moves:

    Sean’s : 12×10/50:
    1) Scorpio Push-up & Bunny Hop: 11-10-10
    2) Step Up, Left: 37-39-37
    3) Scorpio Push-up & Bunny Hop: 10-10-10
    4) Step Up, Right: 41-41-40

    Abs: 03×10/50:
    1) Russian Ball Twist (5 kg): 60
    2) Running Man: 60
    3) Star Crunch & Butt Lift: 24

    Butt: 03×10/50:
    1) Squeeze w. open/closed knees: 49
    2) Hold Squeeze
    3) Squeeze L/R: 70

I’m loving that butt burner Lisa gave us :)

I will do my 100 PU later and post them!

    Have a GREAT DAY, Bodyrockers!

  • GoustiFruit

What’s happening to me !? Today I tried the “Fat Destroyer” wo, and had to stop after 3 rounds, even after switching to easier modifications – bodyweight instead of sandbag – during the third ! I think it is the first time ever I can’t finish a “regular” workout :’-( I feel I lost a lot of stamina since about one month… I need to go back to the basics, I will try to do 16 minutes workouts from now on, until my strength builds up again. I hope this is only a seasonal problem, as I feel really affected by the weather, it’s like I need the sun to fill my batteries…

  • Lvette #1

I so miss bodyrocking with this new format…hopefully, I’ll be back in 5 weeks.  I love the mini 4 minutes videos. If I want I can do 4, 8, 12 16 or a total of 20mins.Where else can you get this quality of routine on the net for money or for free. Please, please someone point me to that site  because I’ve looked for the past 18 months.

I hope everyone had a peaceful and delicious Christmas.

  • Lvette #1

Definitely Bodyrocker diet for me. As Bodyrockers we are not afraid of food, we eat what we want because  we have the tools to live healthy lives.

    Hi Kendra,

The only problem with most walkers is the lower bars that stops the legs from spreading is in the way when you do a reverse push up (inverted row) .  So try looking for one with no wheels and the bars are really close to the ground.  But even with the bar in the way it works and is better than most other substitutes.  As it will do all the jobs in one piece of equipment like the actual Dip Station does.

    Hi Rachel,

I hope you don’t think I was jumping all over Dorota!  I don’t see the point of expressions of want !

  • Annebel Wind

    Hi everyone,

    did this one today: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/11/19/600-rep-workout/

i think i will go back to older workouts.. Because it seems like i am getting worse at the longer workouts.. probably spoiled with these short versions from the recent ones ;D
So will start with this one and pick them on my way true the year 2010 and so on to now.. Will post what I am doing though.. And offcourse if I want to do a shorter recent one i will.. Maybe combine new ones and older ones.. Love you bodyrockers out there.. you’re the best!

  • GoustiFruit

Exactly what I feel ! I think I’ve been too easy lately with these short challenges, I tried 2 older workouts this week and have done bad bad scores ! Need to regain some strength…

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I agree, not bonding with the new WO routines, feel they are unbalanced.  I’m going to do the older routines too.  Get back into adding HKSing too.  Haven’t picked one for the am yet though…will post when I do.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

    Fantastic!  you will love it!!

Hi Maria, curious what holiday are you celebrating? – B

    hey!

just finished doing bodyrocker kim’s 1100 rep workout (from the bodyrocker archives)
struggled a lot getting through it!  only made it 1/2 way, was hoping to finish it this time but I think the chocolate is getting to me (gotta hide it!)
I couldn’t do pushups today! I did all 50 on my knees and the ones in my burpees were just sad (I did do 110reps yesterday)
used 15lb dumbbell for sandbag swings, did side planks off elbow and knees, and did pullups off pullup bar (assisted)
    so
    100 rope jumps
    90 squats
    80 side planks
    70 sandbag swings
    60 side jump lunge
    50 pushups
    40 jump squats
    30 plank reptiles
    20 burpees
    10 pullups
    repeat

    plus burpee for erin!

got to rest a little then work on my pushups for today!

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

OK, I’m going to follow Annebel Wind and do http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/11/19/600-rep-workout/  I last did this one Aug 16

tomorrow I am planning on doing 300 reps of brutality – bodyrocker’s don’t give up!  I am taking advantage of the fact that I am not working this week to do longer workouts!  hope I don’t die! lol

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

hahaha I have this week off too….can you post the link for the WO you pick Tee? That way if someone wants to follow you, it makes it easier to find the info…just a thought

You are always welcome :) I am just enjoying my Christmas Holiday! I quit my job from December 21st, because my boyfriend and I are going to travel in the US for 2 months – leaving on January 15th :) I am so excited. We will visit San Diego, Las Vegas, Mexico City, Cancoon, New Orleans and South Carolina (FL). I will do my BEST to Bodyrock daily while I am gone. Don’t you have any X-mas holiday?

how can I have the other page up in my browser and this comment at the same time?

I’m so jealous…..I never did a whole lot of traveling…I’ve run my own businesses for the past 25 years, so getting away is hard…I was just commenting to my husband the other day, what if bodyrockers had a system like the Rotary charity foundation? Members can travel and stay with other Rotary members world wide…now wouldn’t that be fun?

I remember I have done this one once before.

And I remember your pink plaid pillows “ball”. Mine evolved into a much less Ugly thing. To the point that some folks have actually had me make the covering and ship it off to them to stuff. I even have had a colaborator on the idea of making one that can be easily adjusted weight wise…

    Hey Chris
so how much you will charge me for building one for me and sending it to me?? ;-)

  • MariaJepsen

Beautiful, Tee :) I gotta admit, I feel weaker in my upper body from all those push-ups. I feel Ican do fewer reps each day, because of the muscle pain. I guess my muscles need some rest to rebuild muscles and regain strenght. Yesterday I did Sean’s WO x 3 (lots of push-ups) plus: 20 Legs Elevated, 20 Diamond (from knees) and 20 Regular. Better than nothing :) I am aiming for 100 today! Just did the old 600 Rep’er. Have a great day!
    Love, Maria

Okay…. I just did something crazy… I ordered my DIP STATION!!!! I am so thrilled with excitement, like a child before X-mas. I couldn’t wait any longer, when I saw it was still on sale. 148 US Dollars including the shipping to Denmark. I am sure it will take my fitness to a whole new level, YAY!!!! :) Thank God its payment day tomorrow, ha ha.

    Love, Maria

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

Thank you Chris, I am so happy you replied :) Plus I feel thrilled with excitement. I am 25 years-old and this has been my dream since I finished highschool as a little girl on 18. Seattle is not totally excluded – we will see where our desires take us :) What exactly did you start on January 15thy – Bodyrocking?
    Love, Maria

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

OH MY, that sounds like a fantastic idea, Gerri!!!! An awesome way for us BR’s to meet eachother worldwide. What is your business? 25 years, that is something to be damn proud of!!! Believe me, I feel VERY lucky to get this chance. It has been my dream for 7 years!
    Love, Maria

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

Thanks a lot, Tee, co sweet of you to compliment me like that :) I am so happy I can’t describe it. My boyfriend and I accidently agreed on exploring the South States! I my self have been to California, Florida, New York, Key West and New Orleans before, but he has never been to the US, ever :) Plus I have a former colleague living in San Diego, whom we are going to pay a visit :) I also enjoy the warm-in-January idea, ha ha. Where are you from yourself?
    Love, Maria

Didn’t you already reach the Super Saiyan level ???

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

Ha ha, no, not if I feel like a “cheater” with no dip station :) But such a cute comment!

  • GoustiFruit

So what did you use before the Dip Station ?

  • http://aphrodiitee.deviantart.com/ Isidora

Today I did DAMN SEXY BODY workout but modified for a full intense bodyweight workout.

    36 rounds 30/10.
    1. Squat & Side leg lift: 19-20-20-21
    2. Get ups: 7-7-7-7
    3. Half burpee (plank jump & jump up) 11-10-11-10
    4. One leg bridge left: 22-22-22-23
    5. One leg bridge right: 22-21-22-23
    6. Side to side pike jumps: 39-37-37-37
    7. Airborne kicks on dip station (2 chairs): 17-15-15-15
    8. One leg wall sit right: 23-23-25-28
    9. One leg wall sit left: 23-26-27-28

you see, in many exercises i do more reps in the last rounds, but its not because im not pushing in the first rounds, its because i realize i can do it faster, :)

+ 4 min tabata skipping with jump rope.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

oh, boy lookout!…you are going to go to town on this Maria! :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Poor 1lvana. I guess just be calm and settle into healing up and getting well. Try not to be distraught, which I know is NOT easy. Sleep a lot, drink tea. you will be back at it soon. :)

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

I have tried to use a “couch” chair (the handles) and my pull-up bar as good as possible. But no real Reverse Push-ups, but Pike Presses instead. I do Reverse Push-ups in the Gym instead :)

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

YEAH!!!! Ha ha :) I can’t WAIT to use it!!!

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

I love your home made killer workouts. I will try this one tomorrow morning :)

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

I live in Duluth, MN now, which is far in northeast Minnesota. You are right, I have Dutch heritage. My maiden name Koop is Holland Dutch, and my married name Hundrieser is straight-up German. My Dad’s wife is fluent in Danish and LOVES Denmark. She was a nanny there in her early 20s and now at near 70 years old she is still in touch with her “Danish-sister”. Your language is beautiful, very bubbly and songlike is how it struck me, if that makes sense! :)

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

    My 100 PU for today:
    20 Legs Elev. 20 Reg. 20 Dynamo, 20 Pike Press & 20 Half Commando.

  • Vivi

You know what……I’m looking for a dip sataion too !! lol ! I find an exeple at lunch but I’m waiting for 1 or 2 weeks because of “soldes” I find this link
    http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Body-Press-Dip-Stand/dp/B000ICHPIK

Because I would like to do my workouts better without chairs, and broomstick !

  • Marcela

I don´t have a dip station either… but I have a kitchen table about 60*80 cm… so I lay on the floor under it, hold on the edges and do reverse push-ups like that :)

  • Charlie D.

Don’t have a dip station, so skipped that one, but did the other three.  Thanks again guys for all your hard work!  Happy New Year!

  • GoustiFruit

I would be afraid that it falls on me !
I use two tables for the dips and leg lifts, and I add the tube of my vacuum cleaner for the reverse PU :-D
Not comfortable at all… but I’m resisting the urge to buy the dip station, not because of the money but because I don’t have much place right now to put it, and I’ve read that it is not easy to dismantle once it is attached, so…

Maria and those that switched from home made solutions to the real dip station: do you feel is it easier or harder with the dip ?

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

HI Maria, not the same business for 25 years, but I have worked for myself for that long. I did have a 2 year break in 2000 to 2002, and a 6 month break in 2009. I ran a book/gift store for close to 8 years and the last 10 or so have been u-vint/brew….so I make beer and wine for a living…part of why I have to work out…it just tastes so good….hahaha

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I see you are already getting people asking if you are coming to their town..betcha could find some bodyrockers to hook up with…LOL…we are everywhere

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

the dip station should be scared……hahahaha

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I used to use 2 chairs for knee tucks etc….hubby made me a “dip” station from 2 saw horses with weight bars placed across them, then he made me one from PVC pipe, but you couldn’t do any of the legs swing things, etc cause it was a closed box…I made do, but the dip station is a great piece of equipment and I’m glad I got it

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I’ve decided on the Fierce Friday WO for tomorrow morning…http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/07/01/fierce-friday-workout/   I did this one a whole bunch of times in the summer, got my time down to 12:57 last go at it…

  • JessJN

Oh no!  I ended up doing  ”Abs Assassin” instead.  I will either do a second workout tonight, or “Right There” tomorrow.

  • Anonymous

wow! that’s really great! brilliant even!

  • Anonymous

I gotta stop doing workouts with pushups in them if I’m going to do all these pushups on the side! lol  I am ending up on my knees now doing pushups during the workouts!  but on the bright side my chest muscles, and arm muscles are much harder and I am able to do triple the amount of pushups now!

  • Anonymous

I used to pass a u brew on railway street by cottonwood falls everytime I went to nelson, was that one yours? don’t drink so never stopped there!  love that building, such cool buildings in nelson.

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

Nope, almost bought that one in 2001 though…I ran the Wine Kitz in Nelson (2003-2009) and the Wine Kitz in Castlegar (2002-2006)now I’ve got Brew Mart in Vernon…it does have a facebook page if you want to check it out http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brewmart/153298008064463?ref=ts

    Hi everyone
finished 300 reps of brutality – bodyrockers don’t give up!  http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/07/29/300-reps-of-brutality-bodyrockers-dont-give-up/
5 round time challenge finished in 34 min 2 sec in july I finished in 33min15 sec, so slightly longer but I used no weight last time I don’t think.
this time I used about 15 lbs in my “bag” for lunge twist and sumo squat, a 6 lb medicine ball for jump lunge & swing.
I kept using the weight all the way through for the lunge & twist and the jump lunge & swing but dropped the weight after 3 rounds for the sumo squat,  I actually felt them more after I dropped the weight.  I started putting knees down on the third round for the pushups and dive bombers

I found this really hard today!  have to stop doing pushups in my workouts if I’m going to keep doing this pushup challenge.  Luckily I have picked out ” cardio legs & core workout” for tomorrow, no pushups! lol

http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/07/06/cardio-legs-core-workout/ if anyone wishes to join me!

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

Ladies, this isn’t meant to be punishment….if you are super soar, scale it back, or spread your sets out over the day….we are trying to build muscle and endurance, but the soreness you are feeling is your muscles developing….kinda like doing an intense leg WO after slacking off…..you will build stamina….it just takes time

Repeat this sequence once, twice or three times depending on what you’re after.

    4. 20 Reps Right Leg – Backward Lunge + Right Leg – straight leg kick up toe touch

    5. 100 skips with rope (High Knees)

    6. [10 Reps Kick Ups (crab style) + 1 Forward Grip Pull Up] x 3

    7. 100 skips with rope (Jacks- count each hop as 1 rep)

    8. 6 Burpees

Cool down with 100 skips (hops)
+35 minutes Ashtanga Yoga Standing Series (including first 12 seated postures – no vinyasa between seated) + 3backbends +close.

Did the dip station workout yesterday mashed up with Girl with the Dragon Abs!  Yeah!  I got a medical walker so I could finally do some of these complicated dip station moves, which makes me soooo happy!  It’s a little narrower, and there are some bars here and there which make some things a little more difficult, but it’s waaaay better than my 2 kitchen chairs.  I did Dragon Abs weighted exercise, then dip station, then dragon abs, then dip station, then the dragon abs abs bonus for a total of 19 minutes.  As usual, my boyfriend did the section I wasn’t so we could share equipment, then we did abs together, just switching the order of the sandbag exercise.

GREAT workout!  I love the dips.  The hardest, surprisingly, was the body lift, but not on the arms–on the abs.

35lb sandbag, 10lb ugly ball, walker.

dragon abs (1&3):2 squat jumps and 2 push ups with sb: 6-4.5
squat and drop and 2 push ups and jump squat: 5-4
mountain climber high knees w/ball: 5-4.5 (sets)
push up and knee touch: 18-15

    Christmas dip station (2&4):
    knee raise burpee: 8-7.5
tuck abs and body lift: 10-8
tricep dip and v abs: 10-8
reverse push ups (straight leg): 20-15

    abs:
    bicycle: 25
    bench tucks: 25 (started late)
sit up and press, press, down: 7.5

your scores never fail to amaze me!! you’re welcome!!

  • Annebel Wind

    Hi everyone,

I have some neck inssues.. I think this commes with the amount of push ups I have been doing.. My neck hurts allmost every day now. So am doing a yoga session online today.. about 35 minutes.. There are a lot of yoga lessons on youtube.. For other of you who like that.. Wil do this one: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2009/11/29/hard-bodies-workout/  tomorrow… Post my scores than..

  • Anonymous

oooh annebel,  I feel for you, neck hurting is not pleasant.
I don’t know if it helps now but when doing pushups it’s important to look at a spot on the floor slightly in front of you while keeping your head level.  a lot of people tend to hang their heads down especially when it gets hard and that can strain your neck muscles.  meanwhile maybe you could find some nice person to rub your neck? hope it feels better soon!

  • Robin L.

I get frustrated seeing that same ole egg recipe looking at me.  Are we not havng bodyrockers sending in their pics or what?

  • Anonymous

just wanted to tell my pushup challenge buddies that I managed to get to 100 pushups today!
20 elevated pushups (hands not feet! lol)
    20 pike presses
    20 monkey pushups
    15 lift hands pushups
    5 regular
    20 narrow pushups

the muscles that tie in my shoulders to my chest are hurting!  ha ha!  so I’m trying to do more shoulder type presses since that was allowed!

  • Vivi

In shape this moring I beat my old score with old workouts!!

    I did
     ”More pure torture wo” http://www.bodyrock.tv/2010/07/06/more-pure-torture-workout/
    ” 300rep awesome routine Wo” http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/03/25/300-rep-workout-awesome-routine-for-fat-loss/
    + 120 PU : 20 reverse / 20 regular / 20 taping / 20 slidding/ 20 one arm press triceps L/20 one arm press R

See you next year every Bodyrockers !!!!

Happy New Year Bodyrockers! Heres to a great 2012 to all of us!

  • http://aphrodiitee.deviantart.com/ Isidora

I just did a workout im def not repeating again. I didnt enjoy it at all! it was a torture, too much cardio :O
It was inspired in wicked things workout.
the side plank crunch + diagonal knee tuck is last exercise from tear it up workout: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2010/10/01/tear-it-up-workout/  except i did only 1 diagonal knee tuck instead of 2.
The side & front knee raise is from a workout from Lisa Marie.
and the Plank toe touch & vertical leap and pike press & knee tuck from wicked things wo: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/09/19/wicked-things-workout/

WICKED things reloaded2 rounds of 10 rounds 50/10 sec. (in the first round u do low jacks and in the second jump lunges)
    1. Low jacks / jump lunges: 49-37
    2. Side plank crunch + diagonal knee tuck right: 10-10
    3. Low jacks / jump lunges: 50-34
    4. Side plank crunch + diagonal knee tuck left: 10-10
    5. Low jacks / jump lunges: 50-32
    6. Side & front knee raises (1 side with knees bent + front + other side): counting each front knee raise as 1 rep: 14-13
    7. Low jacks/ jump lunges: 49-32
    8. Plank toe touch & vertical leap: 7-7
    9. Low jacks / jump lunges: 45-32
    10. Pike press & knee tuck: 13-14

I admit i paused twice, in the second round right before the side & front knee raise, i just needed to catch some air, well alot of air, and then after the plank toe touch & vertical leap i also paused for a bit.

and i did 2 bonus for arms and abs:
30 reps of Santana plank (slowly and with flow) + 2 knee tucks = 1 rep = 2:40 min
50 diagonal knee tucks with hands on a plastic ball for stability = 1:20 min

  • MariaBjørgJepsen

HAPPY NEW YEAR, all you beautiful Bodyrockers :)
I did “OMG Sexy Body” (doubled it for 4 rounds = 24 min.) GREAT sweat and 3 minutes of Lisa Marie’s butt torture. Have a wonderful evening!!!!

I did an old workout one day last week and the comments underneath were all scores and gratitude. A bit of healthy competition and our thanks. I really miss that more than I miss z. I come to this site to get a good workout and am grateful for it. for me,  LM is the most motivating  host since Z and I hope she stays but I am grateful for everyone’s efforts and will continue to come here for the w/o’s.  I too was inspired by Z and I hope that however she is spending her time she is finding happiness but really folks, may I lovingly say that I hope you will find a way to move on. Enjoy the workouts. If the changes are too much for you then find something else to do where you are fed. I left my group classes because of the whining and I don’t want to see BR go the same way.

My scores for the first time through this series:

    prisoner squats: 24
    elevated p/u w knees: 17
    alt. weighted squats: 12
    lunge and press: 6
    p/u with knees: 8
    1 tuck ab ++ 13
    tricep with 10
    reverse pull ups 13
     pushup with bunny: 14
    step-up left: 21
    pushup with bunny: 10
    step up right: 22

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

That is so great Tee….I’m very proud of you, you have made great progress and are an inspiration to other bodyrockers out there…keep it up

Happy New Years from the Aloha state Chris!  I know.  I love the workouts but what about the diet and encouragment from other bodyrorkers.  Theres more to lifestyle change than just working out.

Especially now when everyone is on the bandwagon for the new years.  lol

    Take care, Robin

    Hi Annebel,

I’m sorry.  I get neck pain also.  When you start feeling a strain on your neck, stop what you are doing.  Bodyrocking is pretty heavy and repetitive so be aware of what your body is telling you.  Just stopping for a couple of days helps and tlc for you.

    Happy New Year!

    Robin

  • Vivi

Just someone can tell me what is the distance at the top of the dip station and the height ? just to compare ;)
    Thanks

  • Vivi

A rest day for me today. The old workout make me much pain !! I have so much aches today !! OUCH !
So no challenge for me today :p

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Hi Gerri Lee, nice workout! I had to laugh. I often get in the same situation and do the same thing.  Got a name for this one?  I might do it later.  I would like to get off the 10x50s for a change, I’ve been doing them a lot.  Also, what are froggie crunches?

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

This morning I decided to do one of the Christmas workouts Get It On Hot Stuff with extra cardio, abs extra and my 100 pushups.  BEFORE shoveling snow :)

    14 rnds / 10×50 intervals / 7 exercises, 2 circuits:

    High Knees  130, 110
    Ugi Chops  22, 20
    Jumping Jacks  49, 50
Elevated PU on DipStation  17, 19
    High Knees  111, 100
    Fireman Lift & Lunge Kick  8, 9

    Abs Extra:  6 rnds / 10×50
    Ugi Twist  50, 40

    20 narrow
    20 1-leg elevated on Ugi

20 regular with plank-walk 2 paces forward / backward between each

All washed down with a delicious chocolate protein shake.  Now to shovel!

    Happy New Year, Friends.

  • Chris Lee

happy new year bodyrockers!  i missed a few days, but i’m back now!  i did this one today for my first workout of the new year. http://www.bodyrock.tv/?s=hot+beastie I hope i posted that right – i followed your instructions, gerri lee!  good news – i got a dip station for christmas (and a cold, but that’s gone now)

    my scores:
    sb squat 29-25-21
    rvs pushup 26-26-21
    pushup/squat/press combo 7-7-6
    dips 17-14-14
    sb sit up 10-9-8

i did the ab bonus from “pumped up kicks”
    side plank crunch 27-23
    knee raise 24

    for pushups today (20 ea):
    fwd sliding towel
    burpees
    scorpio
    elevated dip station
    elevated reptile

got my knee x-rayed.  there is “wear & tear” on the cartilage and the groove my knee cap sits in is shallower than it should be, so it moves around a bit more than it’s supposed to, but no surgery is required (there’s nothing they can do anyway).  i need to strengthen my quads by doing extention type exersizes and it should be ok.  so that’s pretty exciting.

  • BodyRocker_Bonnie

Hi Chris, Happy New Year and congrats on your new dip station! I almost did the same workout this morning but had a knee twinge the other day and so took a few days off of squats & jump lunges. Glad to hear that your knee can be strengthened through some TLC. Glad you are back!

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

I wrote it into my book as Happy New Year WO. I felt a little 10/50 outed too….wanted a change, but 10/20 isn’t enough to really burn out on a set….10/30 is almost just right…you can give her sh.t but still go onto the next exercise without passing out..Froggie crunches….hmmm..it’s like you are in a v-up postion with your arms out to your side, legs extended forward and off the ground, v-like…hahaha…then you tuck your knees into your chest and touch your hands in front of your knees, then back out, in etc….don’t touch down at any point, balance on your tail bone…see how many you can do before failure.

  • Anonymous

    Hi vivi,
the dip station is narrower at one end than the other, so I will give you measurements for the
bottom width front – 66 cm
bottom width back – 76 cm
top width front – 52 cm
top width back – 62 cm
    height – 93 cm

    I hope this makes sense!

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

Welcome back Chris…I see you survived the holidays with the inlaws.  Congrats on your dip station…I got mine for my b-day in May…the only piece of equipment I still don’t have is the ugi ball…I’m like you and use my bosu for most of those.  I’m glad you don’t require surgery for your knees…that can really take it out of you….hahaha…wear and tear…that’s what happens when you have an active life style and you are past 30 ish.

I think I’ll keep the Hot Beastie WO as the back up for Tuesday morning..I take Mondays off, and when has the Monday WO actually been posted on time?   LOL

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

Jess just posted a nice looking WO on her FB page if any one is stuck with what to do….

    Hey 1lvana,

It’s definitely steady.  I got one that is fairly new-looking, and most are made to be able to hold 300lbs.  But you do have to be careful–I was trying the dip station elevated push ups and was goofing off and did something else and almost knocked myself over.  But for the exercises as you’re supposed to do them it’s fine.  My boyfriend is a good 70lbs heavier than me, and it’s fine for him, too.  :)  I recommend it!

Any words of Zuzka yet ??

Does anyone else struggle with family members who try to
twist your positive physical change into a negative reflection on themselves? I
know this has been discussed at length by Bodyrockers, but I’ve never taken the
time to actually read other people’s stories and advice, and now I really wish
    I had.

My sister recently moved in with me. It’s been nearly a year
since I last saw her and during that time I started Bodyrocking and saw an
immense change in my physique. She hasn’t been taking good care of herself and
has a gained a little more weight than I’m used to seeing her with. She looks
fine, beautiful in fact, but she sees me watching what I eat and working out
hard and instead of choosing to do the same for herself she gets angry with me
for “bringing down her self esteem”. We don’t discuss my changes because she
doesn’t ask me and I’m not going to push my lifestyle on her, so it’s not like
I’m flaunting my hard-earned body in her face, but she just sees my positive
changes as a negative reflection on herself. She constantly mocks my dietary
choices with asinine comments like “Today I’m only going to eat foods that are
red and begin with the letter Q.” Yesterday she blew up at me and said that I
made her feel fat. How in the world am I supposed to handle this? I’m not going
to start eating poorly and slacking off to make her feel better, but just
trying to take care of my body is making her feel bad. Should I just blow it
off and allow her to work this out on her own (since it sounds like an internal
battle with herself) or should I make a conscious effort to do something?

This is the first time I’ve run into opposition from
someone, so I didn’t think it applied to me before; I’m totally kicking myself
    for not following previous comments.

    Hi Courtney,

It must be tough to have someone close to you being so critical of your choices.  It appears to me that your sister is insecure about her body & is projecting her feelings onto you.  You are making healthy choices for yourself that she may feel incapable (or unwilling) of making herself.  Clearly you love your sister, but ultimately she is the only one who can bring her self esteem up or down.  Like you said, it’s not right for you to slack on your workouts & diet just so she feels better.  I would not attempt to explain myself to her either, if I were you.  I would continue to eat & workout as I wish, despite how it makes her feel.  Is she active at all?  If so, maybe invite her for a workout or something less intimidating like walking, hiking, etc.  If you invite her to participate in your lifestyle in apositive way, it’s not being pushy, & she can say no.

I think I would say something like “I’m sorry that you feel the way you do.  However, I’m not asking you or telling you to make any changes in your life, & it is not fair of you to ask me to stop my activities or change the way I eat so that you feel better about yourself.  You choices are yours & mine are mine.  Let’s respect our differences.”

I think I found one of the workouts where this issue was dicussed: http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/02/24/on-the-floor-abs-challenge/

I’ve noticed quite a few 100 push up posts lately and decided to join in today! I didn’t know whether there was a specific routine so did:
    50 regular,
10 1-arm from knees (not all the way down),
    20 reptile, and
    20 monkey

How did it start? Was it on some other site or did some of you guys come up with it? Are you following specific routines or just mixing them up? Sorry for all the questions!

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

    Hey taltul73,

I have a medical walker and did this dip station workout on it plus all moves that require a dip station.  Some I have to modify slightly because there is a bar between the two handles (like burpees with knee raises–but I just do the push up part further out and jump back between the handles to do the knee raises), but it is way better than two chairs.  Plus, it folds up so I can stow it away!  Anyway, I recommend it.  They hold up to 300 lbs or so.  They are less stable than a dip station, so I wouldn’t recommend doing  anything with too much swinging, but for all BodyRock exercises it fits the bill for a fraction of the price.

    Hope that helps!

  • Anonymous

thank you so much Kendra. im looking for one online right now and hope to get it this time ;-)

    thanks for the help!

  • Courtney

Thank you very much for your reply. And thank you for linking the older workout. I knew I’d seen the topic come up!

Between what you said and the bit that I’ve read in the comments from the older workout I feel much more encouraged to just ignore her and persevere through the situation. I was feeling pretty down about it when I wrote that comment this morning and I was worried it would cloud my whole day, but this has definitely made it better. Thank you.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I second everything JessJN said.  Whatever you do, don’t change your habits to make her feel better–that doesn’t help you OR her.  In time she’ll realize that your choices aren’t what affect her happiness–it’s only her own thoughts and beliefs that can affect that.  It really is HER issue, not yours.  I know you know all this, but it’s easy to feel guilty or responsible in some way and just know that you are not.  It sounds like you have a good handle on this, but of course, it’s frustrating and saddening.  Once she works through that anger, though, I think it’s likely she’ll see what you’re doing for what it is–a good choice–and be more likely even to become interested herself.

    Hi Kendra,

I gather from the last few posts about Zuzka that she didn’t post a little “Happy New Years, everyone!” at her FB page even!  Still, I’m positive she is fine or Freddy would tell us otherwise.

I hope whatever she is doing that she realizes how many lives she has touched and how many would support her in any project or endeavor she undertook!  I wish she would reply to anyone’s comments here like in the old days, but I understand if she is busy.

    My best to everyone,

    Hi taltul73,

Who told you it wouldn’t work?  I have a Medical Walker and use it for everything Zuzka ever did with the Dip Station. The only problem with it is the lower stabilizing bars get bumped by your arms when doing a reverse push- up.  So find one with very low ones or maybe cut them off and use some rope at the bottom to stop the spreading if it really bothers you.  Duct Tape the place the old bars where to protect you from cuts or file and sand the metal down.  My lower bars are plastic and if I could figure a way of ungluing them I would lower them to near the floor.  Still the Walker as is works so don’t accept peoples BS advice so easily!  Well, other peoples advice…mine isn’t BS… :-)

If you can’t get a walker the whole reasoning behind the DIY design I made was threaded pipe can be found in almost any country on Earth.  The problem with the design was cost, but with shipping the Dip Station can cost as much as the pipe.

Relax a bit kid and realize all bodyweight workouts without the equipment do the same thing.  The reason we use equipment is to add spice and a little focus to the workouts.

    –Chris

Hi Aloen0110, I kind of started the push up thing with bodyrocker_bonnie. She was getting discouraged by reptile push ups and wanted to build some upper body strength. I suggested we do 5 sets of 20 push ups ever work out day. They don’t have to be all at once, you can spread them through out the day. If you can’t do sets of 20, do sets of 15, 10, 5……just do them. Everyone just kind of picks the kind they want to do. Pike press types are also part of this, so monkey PU, pike press, one leg pike press etc. Bodyrocker Chris Lee has been bringing it pretty hard…he does weighted ones, and has even done hand stand ones…..just have fun with it.

  • Anonymous

Wow, Lisa, I think you are AMAZING !  From just the mere fact how you do those push ups all the way down to the floor and you actually touch the floor with your chest and then come all the way up.  But when I saw you doing those sitting pull ups with extended legs I actually said to myself ” I can’t even do those with my mind, never mind with my body ” . You have such strength !  and you seem to do them so easily. I mean eventually you struggle, but it takes you a while.
Seeing you doing all these “difficult” exercises gives me hope I will be able to them too soon. I have come a long way since I started following this website, so yes, I will start doing them in my mind first and then the “real” thing.

Lovely personality too ! You’re so enthusiastic ! Great job !

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

    Hi Kaz,
I think everyone has their own technique.  As long as you are getting a 90 degree angle on your arms I think it counts as a PU.  Some I go all the way to the ground, some not quit so far, depends on the style.  If you want to improve your strength, just keep going part way down until that becomes easier, then try the first 5 or so going all the way down, the next week try doing 6 or 7 like this.  Your strength will come with time.  Depending on your muscle development going into this, it could be within 3 weeks like Tee, or it could take you longer…just keep trying and don’t give up.

    cheers, Gerri Lee

So far I’ve made pink, neon pink, grey, blue, black and more black… Black seems the most popular choice so far.

Yes lategates I guess your are some what right about the comment of real breasts. Women are tired of comparing themselves to every woman out there who looks so much better just because she got implants or any other kind of surgery that we are forgetting about natural and inner beauty . We are all genetically different. We may have amazing legs but no breasts at all, or such beautifull breasts but no butt. We need to all focus in accepting our body just the way it is, improve what can be improved and forget about the superficial world out there trying to sell us what perfect beauty should be like. No one is perfect. I think natural breasts are lovely and I also think Zuz looks amazing with implants. I guess it just depends on the perpective one has about true beauty.

Finally got to do this workout.  I got a dipstation for xmas, but it was delivered to my apt at school so I wouldn’t have to travel w it when I returned from the xmas break.  This was a good one.  Can’t believe I managed to do the bodylifts!  That being said, I don’t think my scores were all that great.  W/e gotta start somewhere right?

    Weighted Jacks: 44
    Elevated P/U w Knee Tuck: 11
    Alternating Weight Squats: 13
    Lunge and Press: 12
    1 Press Up w Knee Tuck: 6
Knee Tuck + Body Pull Up: 4.5 (!!!)
Dip + V (also couldn’t believe I could do this.  I used to do assisted dips at the gym): 5
Reverse Pull Up (so much easier on the dip station than off the end of my dining table – and many fewer run ins w the bottom of the table itself ;) )
    Circle Abs: 20
    V Abs (L): 20
    V Abs (R): 19
Running Man (instead of the standing leg dip thing bc I really like em!): 17

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday!

I’ve not followed BR since Zuz left as I was not as inspired by the hosts.  I revisited the site & finally a host that held my attention & I felt could fill Zuz’s shoes…. Lisa Marie is great.  Thank you for your continued search to find the best host.  I’m back!
