Week 3 Day 5 – Hot Doesn’t Stop – BodyRock Burn & Sculpt & Flow Workouts

Hi BodyRockers,

For all the love, support and encouragement out there that makes the BodyRock Community such a special place, there is another side where it seems like peoples intention & ambition is to be hurtful. The spirit of what we do here at BodyRock comes from a place of creativity, joy, passion & positivity – and the fact that it can trigger anger & resentment in a small (yet vocal) minority of people out there in cyberspace is something that we find baffling.

BodyRock would not exist if we bowed to these negative voices – our little light would have winked out long ago. It’s common to see this mirrored offline – often when you choose to embrace fitness or living a healthier lifestyle – especially around what you choose to eat – it can challenge those around you on different levels and the reaction can sometimes cause friction.

If this is something that you are experiencing our advice is to stay inside your intention. Cup your hands around your inner frame. Keep that light shinning brite. Depending on your environment and your circumstances it can feel lonely. Maybe you are in an office full of people who have chosen a different path. Maybe you are facing preassure at the table when you opt for veggies and other clean options instead of the norm.

You don’t have to feel isolated and alone in this journey – BodyRock is a global community of positive, like minded people. Our new free mobile app is a great way that you can tap into the support, encoragement and motivation our community offers. BodyRockers are posting & connecting every minute – sharing tips, supporting each other and finding motivation that comes rooted in the common intention of training for a life well lived.

You can download the app for the iphone here: http://bit.ly/BodyRockApp and the android version is here: http://bit.ly/AndroidBR

”BodyRock Lite” starts next week !! – Like the Facebook Page to keep up to date. Think of it as BodyRock for complete beginners – the perfect on ramp to making fitness and clean eating a daily part of your life.

Best,

Freddy

I freaking love this site so take that trollers! I have no idea what was said but I am showing my love out there because I appreciate the time and effort the AMAZING bodyrock team have done to allow me to be fit and healthy for free. IN FACT they should be praised!!! you see healthy food out there being charged higher than fatty foods and people saying its too expensive to be healthy with gym memberships and personal trainers. Well guess what, these people are the new revolution they are leading the path to show you that you can be healthy FOR FREE so no excuse now.

Glad that you are back on track! Keep up the good work!

hey!  I did take a girl down? workout, or at least parts of it and I added other parts.  I have decided that my abs are really weak and just trying to struggle through is not helping so I am working on just holding planks rather than trying to do all the moves and my form going out the window!  so I did just plank towel drag without a pushup and did not do the last couplet but instead I put high knees skipping and holding plank couplets in the workout.  I did each couplet 3 times each for a total of 24 minutes.

counted each “step” of the plank towel drag as one – no pushups
used my sandball (14lbs) for bicep curl/low jack (too light)
did turkish get ups – no weight
assisted wide grip pullup then curled my 14lb sandball one arm then the other, to make it harder

    1.  towel plank drag – 39, 30, 30
         bicep curl/ low jack – 22, 21, 22
    2.  HKS – 68, 73, 87
         plank – hold
    3.  turkish get up – 6, 7, 7
         wide grip pullup/ bicep curl – 5, 5, 5.5
    4.  HKS – 63, 80, 71
         plank – hold

funny, it didn’t seem like a complaint, just information for people who actually love to work out and are open to more than one source of information….you’ve obviously never actually followed me, and have no idea of who I am or where I come from, but every one is welcome to post….seems like the bashing ones get to stay

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_45XWTFYCITIKEYBV7GUCRGLQGM Tara, Tara

WOW this workout was really interesting. I did have a problem finishing the last couplet, not because i didn’t want to but my body had hit the brick wall. I very much enjoyed the fresh variety this workout offered. But i did have to modify some of the moves for my fitness level. But i liked it. Very much! I am very much loving the 30 day challenge!

  • anita stromberger

    hey guys….
    firstly i have to say
    i don’t like this page and workouts….
    I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

so thanks to you bodyrock-team, for being my guid in hard days, thanks for every single motivation, every smile that helps me to get through the workout!!!

KEEP ON GOING, THE WORLD NEEDS BODYROCKERS LIKE YOU!!!!

  • Linz

I’ve been doing bodyrock for around a half a year now, and I’m actually in love!!!
IM FROM CANADA AND I LOVE IT! (you should let me do videos!!!) I’ll send a tape!! I can be your international recruiter!! Im studying business and want to somehow be involved in fitness!
I want to start a class at my gym called bodyrockers and teach it to everyone! I’ve been getting all my friends into it and teaching how to workout properly without hurting yourself.

I find the best thing about this site is if you’re having a day where you don’t feel like working out, you just watch a video and you’re so motivated to go to the gym or move because you’re so inspiring and energetic it actually makes you get up!!
I find the hardest thing is just the DIET!
    SUGGESTION:
–>Lisa marie: you should blog exactly what you eat people would love it (girls would) and sean should do the same for guys! I’m sure that would be a huge success!
*P.S I’m sure you know already from other posts, but the app isn’t working!! sadly! Video’s are not loading not sure if it’s regional but something to look into.
THANKS FOR BEING SUCH GREAT AND INSPIRING PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD GUYS!!! LISA MARIE YOUR SUCH A BALL OF JOY AND ENERGY!!!!! haha love it!! Keep it up!!
P.S.S : I think im starting to prefer working out at home and thinking of moving my bed to the side of the wall for more room!! haha

but please tell us what you EAT!

Thanks for taking the time to read this!!

I’m going to assume that this removed comment was either mine or Gerri Lee’s since they seem to be missing.  Neither of us were promoting another exercise site per say.  We both just reached out to Beckssss who seemed to be upset to let her know that there is a facebook page where some bodyrockers go so that they can post without fear of being deleted.  So this was a kindness that was deleted, which is exactly why those guys post there!  I haven’t been there as I don’t have facebook but wanted to let Becksss know about it as she does have facebook.

sometimes we need to have all the information in order to make an informed comment!

and if I’m wrong and this was another link which I saw on this page somewhere, It is a link to a trainer that we were introduced to here, one of our guest hosts, so personally I don’t think that it needed to be deleted either. as Freddy himself picked her to be a guest host back in November, early December.

  • Gerri Lee Schafer

    thank you for your input

  • Anonymous

No YOU are amazing :) Good job!

  • Anonymous

everyone is not on facebook, and to totally ignore us here could be considered “rude”

I think it is sad that Beckssss has been a loyal, positive member of this community for 3 years, so loyal & positive that she was on the “white” list so that her comments need not go through moderation.  and when asking for feedback on what could make this site better that her comment which was not all gushy gushy, saying they were great, that obviously contained feedback that was not all positive, caused her to be BLOCKED from commenting.   It is understandable for her to be angry, which is why she posted the above comments.  though they may not have been the best comments in the world they were understandable as she was hurt.

It does hurt our feelings to have our comments deleted especially if they were not mean,  and considering how many truly mean comments follow some of these (not yours)  but if you read through the responses you quite often will find that the ones that follow are much meaner than the original post.

I see that vivi’s comment was also deleted even though it was not mean at all, and written from a caring position!

    • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I agree.  Don’t remember what Becksss wrote, but I know Vivi’s comment because I responded to it–I can’t believe it was deleted.  I think that’s really unfortunate.  It wasn’t mean at all, and Vivi is one of the names I first think of when you say “BodyRocker Community.”

we do have to remember that unexpected things come up, and things happen, they did put out a new calendar showing us what happened, and what people forget is the world is made up of many different time zones and when it’s morning for you it is night for someone else or even the next day.my advice to you would be to make up a schedule for the week and then be flexible and switch up workouts as they come up.  that’s what I do!

I with still going to stick around and see what this site can grow into. I know there has been some rocky times going on lately, but I will hope that things will get better.

As far as people saying the site doesn’t feel personal anymore. Maybe the crew does not want to let strangers in on their personal life as much.

BodyRock is still going through a rebirth and I what will come of it.

  • http://aphrodiitee.deviantart.com/ Isidora

Glad you changed the workout setup! the workouts are great but they are getting a bit repetitive, it would be nice to add 16 min -20 min interval workouts + time challenges.. :)

today i revisited The trainer who loved me workout: it took me 32:36 min.
    1. Jump up & star lift 60 reps: 7:52 min
    2. James bond lunges 60 reps: 4:13 min
    3. Monkey business exercise 60 reps: 7:44 min
*4. One leg lift toe touch ab exercise (i dont like the side crunch cuz i have scoliosis) 60 reps: 2:30 min
    5. Breakdance reptile push ups (all in good form) 10:14 min.

the least enjoyable was definitely the monkey business exercise, and the most enjoyable yet one of the hardest was the breakdance push up, i just love push ups and planks and the fact that it doesnt involve jumping :D

  • Anonymous

I think you should still post pictures of bodyrockers on the side of your website. Those photos were always motivational. :)
Oh and I also miss the challenges. Like the ones were you do as many reps as possible in a certain amount of time.

  • Jules

Ok wow, just wow.  I actually came on to comment how much I loved the couplet workout.  This was a really challenging workout.  A nice mix up.  Then I just read some of the comments, I’m actually kind of stunned.  I’m trying to understand why anyone needs to write something negative.  I work in a hospital and all day long it is a struggle to keep my composure, compassion and patience.  As an RN, we face physical and mental abuse daily.  I come to Bodyrock.tv to have a workout already planned for me, so I can relax knowing I will have a complete body workout in a short period of time.  It is the one consistency in my life at present.  I know I can click on here and it feels like a community.  But, seriously?  I am so offended by the negativity of these comments and they don’t directly relate to me.  They relate to 3 ppl that are keeping us all motivated and strong.  I can’t even imagine how these comments must hurt them.  Yes, I recognize it is a business and they are making money from endorsements, but really, how else does anyone think  they could put so much time and effort into this without making some money?  Don’t we all get up in the morning and do the same thing?  The fact that this is a public FREE workout site, it enough for me to say congrats to Freddy.  We do not know the circumstances between him and his ex, nor should we, that is private.  He has done an amazing job growing this site and Bodyrock.tv as a whole.  It has grown more in the last year that in the past few years.  In closing, i just want to say, Freddy, Lisa and Sean, thank you.  Thank you from someone that has so much going on in her life and comes here to this safe place to have 12 min or more a day to just be me <3<3

how much do they pay you?

    • Anonymous

http://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/bodyrock.tv out of their estimated 1.5 million dollar salary.  lol k im going to stop trolling now. If you enjoy the site thats great

      • http://www.youasamachine.com/ You As A Machine

That is really interesting. I just searched my own website to see its worth. It is VERY interesting because I am NOT earning a cent on it, however, this worthofweb search indicates that I am earning something – how can that be?

In fact I PAY annually to keep my site running, something in the ball park of $150 for my domain name, extra video service and memory space etc. I won’t sell out to advertisers because I think that will change the authenticity of my message. WordPress, my host site does allow minimum advertising on the site from time to time, but I do not benefit from this. They do this so as to be able to keep their hosting prices down.
Maybe this is the amount WordPress is earning? Nice for them.
I am running it purely as my ‘gift’ to help others to help themselves. It’s great that Freddy can make this his business.
Everyone wins. Don’t like it? Don’t visit.

      • Christeec

You’re not trolling too terribly. Actually, I would say that, looking at how hard they’re working every day, labor and personality and tech work all mashed up together, and factoring in there are more than one of them, they are actually underpaid! (If you’re comparing to an entertainment/ fitness personality income). That’s how I see it, anyway. haha

    • Cindy

I am also so grateful to Freddy, Lisa and Sean, they have been like a Blessing in my life. I can’t make negative comments about them because they have given so much to a lot fo people.

  • Anonymous

I am so disappointed that there wasn’t a day 2 or 4 this week. I was totally looking forward to this challenge. So I am just going to start making my own workouts and stop going to this website. I keep getting more and more disappointed when you all say things will be posted and then 3 days go by. I thought it was a 30 day challenge. I guess I will go on a 3 mile run instead. I can’t give up, and you all aren’t motivating enough. Peace out!

    • Anonymous

Also I checked out bodyripped.com. I love it!

  • http://www.facebook.com/Sofia.B.LopezBilbao Sofia

Oh Sean and the tutu haha. I had to go back a few seconds and re-watch because i was laughing and that’s all i could look at. You’re the man.

I think something has changed about the site, but i can’t quite put my finger on it. I think I just have a hard time keeping up on with which is the video of the day, or when  a new one comes up. I think it would help if all the videos had the same name but one was the burn, another the sculpt and one for flow. That way in my head it’s like, “ok today’s workout is so and so, and i’m doing all 3 parts of it”. It would also help me keep track of which ones i’ve done and when a new one comes up. I know it’s not hard to figure out, but sometimes the brain likes order :).

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mily-Miguel/592457099 Mily Miguel

      Hello Sofia,

Yeah I would like that too, so in the future If I want to do one of the older workouts, I can get my computer and search for the name and bam!
I have all the pieces that Im supposed to do that day.

  • Jill Hobbs

Body Rock can’t please everyone. People either like Body Rock, appreciate it and follow it or they don’t like it, don’t follow it and go elsewhere. If you don’t like what Freddy, Sean Lisa Marie and Teisha present, then don’t look at the website. Perhaps people who spend time creating negative comments need to find a hobby or something else in their life.

    • Vivi

I don’t criticize their work(of course we are thankfull for all the videos which I follow yet) but we can justified in saying that we feel another spirit on the new site.

      Criticism can be constructive. ;)

We would like just that the site became again to focus & share with people and less on money…Most personnnal.

Just one thing, to prove that the site changed (in more not a lot of scores post to motivate us) before there would not have this kind of message. Different opinions were more respected…..

  • Vivi

I admit, too, that the site doesn’t go to a pleasant way.
All old BR go ! Don’t you never ask yourself why ?
Of course we are gratefull for all the job you do (free video) but the Spirit changed. And I think that’s why fellow BR don’t recognize themself here right now.
Too much commercial perhaps…Return on the essential;a more “simple” site. With more usability and exchange. Everybody are not on FB.

I really don’t want to be rude to LM, she has a lot of quality (energy, motivating, joyful) but she became like an “object sexy”  to attract new BR.
Sean stay more true to himself. With his joke (his gas lol !) & his lovely smile.
I just hope she never had regrets about pictures (for me not a problem but she certainly touched by all criticisms & reflections) & her changements.

I understand that is very difficult to please everybody….
I stay a little again with you….even if my heart swings….

    • http://www.facebook.com/kendra.oberhauser Kendra Lee Oberhauser

I agree, Vivi–the spirit has changed.  BodyRock has done a lot for me, and I wouldn’t expect it to NOT change, but it’s not my home anymore.  I’ll still do the workouts if they look like I want to do them, but I’ll be hopping around on other sites and pages.

BodyRock team: I don’t say this to bash you or what you’re doing–it’s an extremely difficult thing to go from one step to another in a business.  And you might find that with all this change, you lose some of us, but you gain a newer and stronger audience.  I hope that’s the case.  I don’t think that I am your audience anymore, so take this or leave it, but what I miss the most about BodyRock is the personal touch.  With Zuzana it was very much about HER, and that made us fall in love with her, follow her workouts, her diet challenges, her ups and downs, and her life.  It was fun that she let us in on her life like that, and we could follow along if we wanted on all of it or some of it.  That spirit didn’t leave with Zuzana–I felt it in the early days with the new hosts, all four of them.

But NOW… the core is the brand, the core is the business and the name.  It’s not a person or a few people.  You wonder why people are so upset about the boob and butt shots?  No, it’s not like that’s new thing for BodyRock to do, and frankly I could care less.  But without the individual personalities, passions, drives shining through, those really are just boob and butt shots.  There’s nothing behind that shining through on the videos or the site.  When I first saw BR a year ago, my boyfriend would joke about the provocative poses of Z, but he SHUT UP once I made him watch her talk on the video, because she was so kind, so sweet and passionate, that she wins you right over.  I felt something similar when I saw Lisa’s first video–I was like, “who IS this girl?!  She’s amazing! She pops!”

But now I see the video, I click on it, and it’s an amalgamation of different pep talks and exercise moves from old videos.  It feels general, it feels the same.  It feels very thrown together, both in the organization of the site, and most importantly, in the organization of the workouts.  And NOBODY POSTS THEIR SCORES?! That used to be the whole point–we would compete with the hosts, with each other.

I wish the BodyRock.tv team all the luck in the world–I hope you continue to grow, and I can see a lot of people on here that are continuously inspired by all that you do.  This community is broken, however, and it needs to find new feet, new members, new grounding.  I don’t know if I’ll be a part of it–I have to take a step back, but I’ll still check out the workouts, and I’ll definitely be doing the old ones in the archives.  But please–bring back the personal touch that made BodyRock what it is today.

      Thanks for reading.  Peace.

Freddy, thank you for this intro. I am so often frustrated with the closest people around me not getting me and my new lifestyle. They judge me as if I am some kind of weirdo. Definately, I often feel isolated because there are just no people in my surrondings being like me or fellow bodyrockers. So, yes, it can be very lonely, indeed. However, I will continue bodyrocking because I believe in this way of health and strength. It is the right way to do. I love your site, love your dedication and motivation. I appreciate the effort and cannot possibly know how many hours you put into this for us! Thank you!

    Hey everyone!

If you are watching the video and are a little confused why sean continues doing bicep curls or the rows without the other movement, it was because he was doing a rep challenge in the original video.  I’m pretty sure they want you to do the compound movement here as it is only 50 seconds. so do the jack with the curl, and the row with the lunge knee up!

from what I understand they want you to do 6 rounds of 10 sec & 50 sec of couplet one, (or 4 rounds if you are intermediate/beginner) then 6 rounds of couplet two, then 6 rounds of couplet three.  that would be 18minutes for advanced, and 12 minutes for intermediate/ beginners

looks good, I might be pencilling it in next week, maybe!

I did Teshia’s flow while watching it as, well I am sitting in a chair!  Good idea for those sitting a lot!  the wrist ones will also help after all those pushups we do.  though the first exercise I could not do without sort of standing up a little in my chair as my elbows wouldn’t allow it.  I had to stand up put my hands in that position, then slowly lower myself into the chair.  the second exercise was really cool and I did it from my knees as my chair is not as tall!  and the third one I do all the time as I generally sit cross legged, but it felt really good as I’m sore from my workouts! lol  Her talk was excellent, she is one smart cookie!  and that position at the beginning was freaky!  you could pack her in your suitcase and take her to Spain!

Has anyone here read the Fountainhead? The speech at the beginning reminds me of something Ellsworth Toohey would say. Is it possible to not like something and not be called a hater who is only jealous and trying to bring bodyrock down? If people criticize the site they could be trying to improve it. And you seriously block me from commenting on this site? Pretty comical, i started bodyrocking around 3 years ago and the site is going so far down hill so fast its not even funny. The amount of censorship is sickening, so go ahead and block me again and delete this comment. I hope you do. Just know that you have failed me and countless others who grew so much with Zuzana and Bodyrock. Everything is so fake and overly “motivational” without actually motivating. Deleted all of the Bodyrock affiliated facebook sites and never coming back. This site is so disorganized, overly commercialized and cluttered. You never answer legitamite health or fitness questions like you used to and you NEVER reply to anyone on this site. I wonder why all the original bodyrockers are gone. No, you probably just blocked them all. I hope the money you make off these poor ignorant people makes you happy, I have better things to do with my life then scam ppl. that is all, goodbye. Just know that I used to love this site tremendously, and its a big disappointment to see what has become of it. Officially a Zwarrior.

I agree. I have been bodyrocking for 3 years now, and lately I have been disappointed. I have been doing all the workouts I used to do. The hard ones Zuzanna used to post. I miss her and the way the site was then. I also don’t find it motivating anymore and the energy just, well it’s lame. So I am going back to my workout journal and doing all the workouts from 3 years ago and am going to try and beat my personal bests. Well I seem to be going off on a tangent. Better call it a day! Later!

I have also been BodyRocking for about 3 years. I have tried, so hard, to stay supportive of this website and to keep doing the workouts. But, I’ve grown tired of it. BodyRock is not BodyRock anymore. And I really can’t explain it better than you have, Becksssss. It’s lost its spark, its appeal… I’m not motivated. I’ve moved on to other websites that I feel much more passionate about at this time. And I have moved on to be a Zwarrior as well. I’ll still return to this site, occasionally.. just to see if there’s a workout I feel like doing. Or perhaps I won’t. I have found happiness and contentment elsewhere… and I’m sorry that something I was once so proud to be a part of, had to change so drastically.
