That’s right, National Almond Day is a thing! And you know what, it’s a good thing because almonds don’t get nearly enough love.

Sure, almonds make a delicious, easy to grab snack but there is so much more to them than just being snack-able.

Almonds are packed with lots of nutritional benefits! They are a great source of protein, healthy fats, magnesium, manganese, copper, phosphorus, and vitamin E and B12!

Almonds can help reduce oxidative stress in the body by providing a healthy dose of antioxidants, protecting you and your body’s cells from harmful free radicals. Vitamin E, in particular, goes a long way to helping protect your cell membranes and may even lower your risk of heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and certain cancers.

And in case those benefits weren’t enough, almonds can help you lose weight! Because they have lots of protein and fiber, which are digested more slowly than carbohydrates, they will help you to feel full, for longer periods. And because you feel satisfied for longer, you are less likely to overeat or consume extra calories. Every little bit helps right?

Because just telling you it’s National Almond Day and sharing almond attributes didn’t feel like enough, we rounded up some of our favorite almond recipes!

Take a look and celebrate in style!
