Sometimes, we experience minor hiccups in an otherwise healthy life. Sometimes, these hiccups seem so insignificant that we don’t think about them twice. But, they could be a sign of a much larger health concern. Women often want to prevent putting people out and don’t say much, but staying healthy should be a top priority in your life. You have nothing if you don’t have your health! So, if you experience any of the following symptoms, it is best to get yourself checked out by a health care professional. You can’t be too cautious!

1. When the colour of your urine is unusual.

There are lots of things that can contribute to your urine changing colour and many of them are completely banal. If you notice your urine is┬áred, pinkish, dark brown or yellow, it could be due to medications, food you’re eating, or dehydration. But, it could also signal an infection or something amiss with your kidneys or liver. Try drinking lots of water and changing your diet. If that doesn’t restore the colour, it is best to have your doctor run a urine test.

2. When you feel a lump in your breast.

Just because you feel a lump, it doesn’t mean it is cancer. We cannot stress that enough. But, in case it is, it is important that you address it immediately. Waiting will only create more worry and possible complications down the road.

3. Frequently missed periods.

There are lots of reasons women can miss a period. Stress, diet, weight loss or gain, and the birth control pill are all things that can lead to a missed period and none of them should induce panic. But, if it happens to you frequently, it could be a symptom of something more serious like polycystic ovary syndrome. To find out exactly what is going on in there, book an appointment with your gynecologist. They can offer you an answer and help you find a solution.

4. Daily back pain.

Back pain is not unusual for many women. It could be linked to posture, breast size, being overweight, stress, anxiety or pregnancy. A great way to deal with this type of pain is through exercise and yoga. But if that doesn’t work, try to see a physiotherapist. They will help you narrow down the cause of your pain.

5. Difficulty falling asleep at night.

Not being able to sleep at night could mean something is out of balance in your life. Sleep deprivation can lead to a whole whack of health troubles, the least of which is weight gain! It could be your diet, your stress levels, consuming caffeine too late or your habit of watching American Horror Story before bed. Whatever it is, sleeping pills should be your last resort. Talk to your doctor about your sleep habits and you two should be able to sort out a solution.

6. Frequent fever.

A fever is a sign of an unhealthy body. Your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong. If you have a fever often, especially one above 103F, you need medical attention. You could have a serious infection.

7. You keep running out of breath.

If you find yourself struggling to breathe and you haven’t just suddenly changed altitudes or climates, something could be amiss. Difficulty breathing could be due to obesity, stress or over-exercising or it could be something more serious like bronchitis or asthma. If you are short of breath, stay calm and seek medical attention.
