This is one of our favourite green smoothie recipes. It packs the antioxidant power of blueberries, the insulin controlling properties of cinnamon and the amazing iron content of kale. It’s also got a healthy shot of protein, making it a perfect smoothie to start your day.

You’ll need:

¾ cups nonfat greek yogurt

1 handful of washed kale

¾ cup of blueberries

1 tablespoon of honey

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

½ – ¾ cup of water, depending on how thick you like your smoothies

1 tablespoon of natural almond or peanut butter (optional)

Toss this all in your blender, mix thoroughly and enjoy!

Tip: If you like your green smoothies thicker, add a little ice.
