You know those conversations that happen when you first meet someone and they ask "So tell me something about yourself," and you never - or at least I never - know what to answer with? Well I've been trying to perfect that response and its been a struggle simply because I have so much to say! My name is Rose and I am from a teeny tiny town in Ontario, Canada called Forest - no I don't literally live in a forest…(you have no idea how often I get asked that question). Growing up I was involved in basically every sport or activity I could be. I swam, sang, acted, played soccer, danced, ran track and cross-country, did tae kwon do and rode horses. Needless to say I had a lot of hobbies. As I got older I refined my hobbies (only slightly) and concentrated on tae kwon do, horseback riding and running. I achieved my black belt in June 2008 and now am an assistant instructor at Lakeside Seikido; I am a member of the UWO Equestrian Dressage Team and compete internationally during the school year and I am currently training for a half marathon! But enough about my hobbies! Even though they are an important part of my life and, to be honest, probably take up most of my time there are a few other components that make me, well…me! I go to school at the University of Western Ontario for Media Information and Technoculture (I still haven't come up with a way to answer what that really is yet but I'm working on it!) and am going into my third year in September. Although Western is fairly close to home I definitely have the travel bug - I can thank my flight attendant and adventurous mother for that one! Next February I will be traveling to Brisbane, Australia to complete a semester of studying and I cannot wait to experience it! I firmly believe in making the most out of every opportunity and when I had the opportunity to go study down-under I jumped at the chance! However, even though I love to travel and experience new things I still love to come home every once and a while. My friends and family are my support, they are my rock. I think everyone needs a strong group of supportive and loving individuals in their lives and I am blessed enough to have a fantastic group of people in my corner. I honestly could go on an on about myself but I think I've given you the basics. I am a daughter, sister, athlete, equestrian, tough mudder, singer, writer, student, leader, runner, adventurer, and above all else, I am a human being with a zest for life!
