10 Celebrities With Acne Who Prove You Aren't The Only One

December 16, 2015 3 min read

We often associate celebrities with perfection. They have the perfect makeup, clothes, hair, bodies, careers and lives. We begin to think their good looks, charm and bottomless bank accounts make them some sort of royalty. We even stop seeing them as normal. Though  every human, no matter their status, is normal, with good things and bad things happening in their lives. Even celebrities can't escape some pitfalls, including a lack of body confidence despite their seemingly plastered on smiles and svelte figures. Here, 10 celebrities weigh in on their biggest acne struggles.

Cameron Diaz

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. Cameron discussed her struggles with acne during her teenage years and twenties in her 2014 The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body. She said, “I had terrible, terrible, skin. It was awkward and embarrassing and frustrating, and I always felt really bad about myself.” She said she tried every type of medication to no avail.

Katy Perry

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. Despite now having a CoverGirl contract, Katy admits she struggled with skin issues as well. "One of my insecurities is that I have acne scars. I'm self-conscious about that, so sometimes I wear too much makeup to cover them up," she said.

Rihanna doesn't always have flawless skin either. She said,  "When I feel like my skin has had it, I cut out all alcohol and overdo the water. And lipstick is essential—it draws attention away from any flaws."

Emma Stone

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. Emma Stone says she dealt with both hormonal- and stress-induced acne. She noted that she tried out Accutane at 17, and when she filmed Easy A, her acne had to be airbrushed out of the film.  “I realized how debilitating and embarrassing it can be to have cystic acne,” she revealed. “So I'm really interested in the biology of what makes up acne and how to work on it from the outside, too.”

Naya Rivera

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. The Glee star is a spokesperson for Proactiv. Of her skin struggles she said, "It sort of just came out of nowhere. It was like adult acne, and I was like, ‘I've had great skin my entire life. How am I dealing with this now at 24?’ It was a point of insecurity for me.”

Keira Knightley

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. Even though Keira has a temperamental complexion, she suffers from occasionally getting blemishes. “I’m incredibly self-conscious about the fact that I get bad skin.” And of working in Hollywood with her condition, she said it is very difficult. “If you’re using your face, if you’re seling it, then you become so aware of the flaws because people tell you. And they do so brusquely."

Kaley Cuoco

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. The Big Bang Theory star says, "I had acne as a teen, and it made me so insecure to be on camera—not a good thing when you are on a television series."

Jurnee Smollett

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. The Friday Night Lights beauty is also a Proactiv spokesperson who revealed that she experienced an acne flare-up on set when she was planning her nuptials. "I was shooting Friday Night Lights in Austin, and with the humidity, the great Texas food, the hormones, and the stress of me planning the wedding, my skin was freaking out."

Bella Thorne

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. The Neutrogena Ambassador and Disney star says, “I remember the first time I started to get acne, I started to see all these little bumps under my skin, and it just made me feel very insecure every time someone would look to me or talk to me."

AnnaLynn McCord

Celebrities discuss their skin problems. The 90210 babe posted a makeup-free selfie on Instagram revealing her adult acne back in 2012. “I happen to unfortunately have adult acne. I don’t want anyone who might like me or look up to me for any reason to think less of themselves because they have blemishes and someone is giving me crap for having them. Let’s quit the standard of perfection. We’re not perfect, we’re human.” Did you think celebrities had skin problems, too? Pimples can strike at any age. Beating breakouts isn't just about how you wash your face or what lotions you put on your skin. You're acne can and will improve if you make simple changes to your daily routine. Acne can impact your self-esteem and outlook on life. Don't let blemishes stop you from enjoying the little things in life! Shipping & Delivery

Due to COVID-19, shipping systems the world over are experiencing abnormal delays. There is an enormous demand on postal and delivery services as online shopping has skyrocketed, due to store closures and stay-at-home mandates. This is an unprecedented situation, and we are working around the clock to fulfill your orders as quickly as possible. To be clear, we are filling orders in 4-6 days, and we are shipping immediately after that. Once shipped, our shipping partner, UPS, will get your order out to you as quickly as possible. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Are you in Canada? Specifically, are you outside of a metropolitan centre? We need to alert you to a disruption in shipping due to COVID-19. Our preferred shipping provider, UPS, has informed us that they cannot guarantee express shipping for many locations. We have also seen that packages delivered to Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, etc, are not waylaid, but packages delivered to areas just outside of these cities are being held in transit for days or even weeks. UPS has discontinued their guarantee of 1-4 day delivery, which you can read more about here. Therefore, we can guarantee early fulfillment but not early delivery of our goods from our warehouse to your door at this time.

We want you to start your fitness journey with us as quickly as possible, that’s why we send every package to the USA & Canada via expedited or standard shipping with our partners at UPS. Once your order is received and processed, it typically takes 2-4 days to get to you once it leaves our warehouse. That’s our commitment and we stand by it.

We ship within Canada and the United States via UPS with Standard & Expedited shipping (whichever is faster)

For locations outside of the US and Canada, we ship using FedEx International (EUROPE and Other Nations), which is usually in transit for 7-10 business days, depending on location.

We ship all of our physical products with UPS, from our warehouse location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Delays caused due to custom withholds are not included in these estimated delivery times.

Returns & Exchanges

BodyRock Equipment

We offer a 30-day return policy, as long as: it is not more than 30 days past the date of delivery; and your item is in its original condition and packaging with the original order number. Refunds will be issued when the equipment is received back to the BodyRock warehouse, minus the original cost of shipping, and the customer is responsible for the costs of return shipping. To request a refund on physical product purchases, please contact us.

Digital Products

We cannot issue refunds on digital goods such as e-books or videos, as these are non-tangible goods that are irrevocable once the order is placed.

All of the BodyRock clothing is made to order and so is final sale. If you have any questions about sizing prior to placing your order, please contact us.
