Pregnancy is a wonderful, beautiful, exciting time. So many changes, so many things to look forward to! The whole idea of being able to grow a human life inside your body is just remarkable. There is no other word for it.
Having said that, pregnancy isn't always perfect bliss. Anyone who has been there can tell you that there are strange and uncomfortable experiences that also come with being pregnant. Here are 10 unexpected feelings you may experience during pregnancy:
1. You'll feel hungover constantly.
You know that feeling you get after a weekend bender? That's exactly how it feels. You wake up knowing your going to feel lousy for most of the day.
2. You'll feel stuffed.
You will feel like you just worked your way through an all-you-can-eat buffet, twice. But in reality, you had a sandwich. You will feel like your food is sitting somewhere near your chest, halfway between your throat and your stomach.
3. You'll need a spit cup.
You know that gaggy, watery saliva you have in your mouth right before you throw up? Well, imagine having it all day. Even when you are driving in your car with no place to spit. Holding it in only makes you gag more, and an old coffee cup may just be your best friend.
You will start to smell things you never even noticed before. Things you never knew even existed. Like the air freshener in your neighbour's house. The worst part, no one else can smell these things and they often look at you like you're insane when you mention them. Try not to let the smells drive you crazy!

You really, really want a milkshake! It's literally the only thing you can think about for hours on end. Then when you finally get the chance to suck one back, it tastes horribly gross. Your husband orders your favourite pizza because you cannot live without it, but by the time it arrives, you aren't interested.
6. Always hungry.
Often times, you'll feel famished and you'll have no idea what to eat. You'll crave things you don't want, and just about everything makes you gag. You never know what you want to eat until the second you put it in your mouth.
You want nothing more than to close your eyes ... at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. You could do it mid-sentence if you aren't careful!
8. Everyone's a critic.
You will have everyone, from friends and family to complete strangers, pointing out everything you are doing wrong. "I have a friend whose boyfriend's, cousin's, sister died from doing that." Yes, please, do go on....
9. No pictures.
You'll never want to take pictures EVER again. Every picture of you is dreadful to look at. You'll immediately start to run and hide when you see a cellphone or camera make an appearance.
10. Google will terrify you.
You will no doubt stumble upon an alarmist blog that will tell you all of the ways you are destroying your child's life before s/he is even born. If you want to know something, stay offline and ask your doctor.
Despite these crazy feelings, pregnancy is still a beautiful thing.
Do any of these feelings sound familiar to you?
