10 Day Yoga Challenge (Learn a New Pose Everyday!)

March 16, 2015 4 min read

Calling all of my yogis out there! Or, if you are a beginner who is interested in learning some yoga moves, this is the perfect challenge for you. For 10 days, you will learn and try one new yoga pose. If you already know or are familiar with the designated pose, try to perfect it and practice at becoming even better! Try to do the pose at least 5 times throughout the day to get familiar with it. Let's get started with the basics: Day #1: Child's Pose ddd1
  1. Kneel on the floor in your yoga mat.
  2. Touch your big toes together and sit on your heels, then separate your knees about as wide as your hips.
  3. Exhale and lay your torso down between your thighs.
  4. Lay your hands on the floor alongside your torso, palms up, and release the fronts of your shoulders toward the floor. Feel how the weight of the front shoulders pulls the shoulder blades wide across your back.
Day #2: Happy Baby Pose doafmAD
  1. Lie on your back. With an exhale, bend your knees into your belly.
  2. Inhale, grip the outsides of your feet with your hands (if you have difficulty holding the feet directly with your hands, hold onto a belt looped over each sole.) Open your knees slightly wider than your torso, then bring them up toward your armpits.
  3. Position each ankle directly over the knee, so your shins are perpendicular to the floor. Flex through the heels. Gently push your feet up into your hands (or the belts) as you pull your hands down to create a resistance.
Day #3: Downward Facing Dog Pose ddd1
  1. Begin on your hands and knees. Your wrists should be underneath your shoulders, and your knees should be underneath your hips.
  2. Inhale as you tuck your toes under your heels. Then exhale to lift your hips, coming into an upside down "V" shape called Downward Facing Dog.
  3. Spread your fingers wide and create a straight line between your middle fingers and elbows. Work on straightening your legs and lowering your heels toward the ground. Relax your head between your arms and direct your gaze through your legs or up toward your belly button. Hold for five breaths.
Day #4: Upward Facing Dog Pose ddd1
  1. Lie face down on mat, palms directly under shoulders, elbows bent by sides, and legs extended, tops of feet flat on floor.
  2. Inhale, pressing firmly into palms pulling torso forward slightly.
  3. Straighten arms, rolling shoulders back and down, taking gaze slightly toward ceiling.
  4. Press into tops of feet, lifting torso and thighs a few inches off floor.
  5. Hold for 2 to 4 deep breaths.
Day #5: Corpse Pose ddd1
  1. Lie on your back with your legs straight and arms at your sides. Rest your hands about six inches away from your body with your palms up. Let your feet drop open. Close your eyes. Let your breath occur naturally.
  2. Allow your body to feel heavy on the ground.
  3. Working from the soles of your feet up to the crown of your head, consciously release every body part, organ, and cell. Make sure to relax your face.
  4. Stay in this pose for five minutes for every 30 minutes of your practice.
Day #6: Table Top Pose ddd1
  1. Sit on floor with knees bent, feet flat on floor, palms by sides with fingers facing forward.
  2. Inhale, pressing through heels and lifting hips until spine is perpendicular with floor, allowing head to fall back.
  3. Continue lifting hips as you breathe deeply, holding for 3 to 5 deep breathes.
Day #7: Mountain Pose ddd1
  1. Stand tall with feet together, shoulders relaxed, weight evenly distributed through your soles, arms at sides.
  2. Take a deep breath and raise your hands overhead, palms facing each other with arms straight.
  3. Reach up toward the sky with your fingertips.
Day #8: Bridge Pose dddd
  1. Lie on floor with knees bent and directly over heels.
  2. Place arms at sides, palms down. Exhale, then press feet into floor as you lift hips.
  3. Clasp hands under lower back and press arms down, lifting hips until thighs are parallel to floor, bringing chest toward chin.
  4. Hold for 1 minute.
Day #9: Triangle Pose ddd1
  1. Extend arms out to sides, then bend over your right leg.
  2. Stand with feet about 3 feet apart, toes on your right foot turned out to 90 degrees, left foot to 45 degrees.
  3. Allow your right hand to touch the floor or rest on your right leg below or above the knee, and extend the fingertips of your left hand toward the ceiling.
  4. Turn your gaze toward the ceiling, and hold for 5 breaths.
  5. Stand and repeat on opposite side.
Day #10: Seated Twist ddd2
  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended.
  • Cross right foot over outside of left thigh; bend left knee. Keep right knee pointed toward ceiling.
  • Place left elbow to the outside of right knee and right hand on the floor behind you.
  • Twist right as far as you can, moving from your abdomen; keep both sides of your butt on the floor. Stay for 1 minute.
  • Switch sides and repeat.

Shipping & Delivery

Due to COVID-19, shipping systems the world over are experiencing abnormal delays. There is an enormous demand on postal and delivery services as online shopping has skyrocketed, due to store closures and stay-at-home mandates. This is an unprecedented situation, and we are working around the clock to fulfill your orders as quickly as possible. To be clear, we are filling orders in 4-6 days, and we are shipping immediately after that. Once shipped, our shipping partner, UPS, will get your order out to you as quickly as possible. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Are you in Canada? Specifically, are you outside of a metropolitan centre? We need to alert you to a disruption in shipping due to COVID-19. Our preferred shipping provider, UPS, has informed us that they cannot guarantee express shipping for many locations. We have also seen that packages delivered to Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, etc, are not waylaid, but packages delivered to areas just outside of these cities are being held in transit for days or even weeks. UPS has discontinued their guarantee of 1-4 day delivery, which you can read more about here. Therefore, we can guarantee early fulfillment but not early delivery of our goods from our warehouse to your door at this time.

We want you to start your fitness journey with us as quickly as possible, that’s why we send every package to the USA & Canada via expedited or standard shipping with our partners at UPS. Once your order is received and processed, it typically takes 2-4 days to get to you once it leaves our warehouse. That’s our commitment and we stand by it.

We ship within Canada and the United States via UPS with Standard & Expedited shipping (whichever is faster)

For locations outside of the US and Canada, we ship using FedEx International (EUROPE and Other Nations), which is usually in transit for 7-10 business days, depending on location.

We ship all of our physical products with UPS, from our warehouse location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Delays caused due to custom withholds are not included in these estimated delivery times.

Returns & Exchanges

BodyRock Equipment

We offer a 30-day return policy, as long as: it is not more than 30 days past the date of delivery; and your item is in its original condition and packaging with the original order number. Refunds will be issued when the equipment is received back to the BodyRock warehouse, minus the original cost of shipping, and the customer is responsible for the costs of return shipping. To request a refund on physical product purchases, please contact us.

Digital Products

We cannot issue refunds on digital goods such as e-books or videos, as these are non-tangible goods that are irrevocable once the order is placed.

Clothing

All of the BodyRock clothing is made to order and so is final sale. If you have any questions about sizing prior to placing your order, please contact us.
