13 Thoughts That Go Through Your Mind When You Lose the Person You Thought Was the One
Losing the one you love is incredibly hard. Finding out that the person you imagined to be "the one," is actually not feels even worse. You fight to try and make sense of it, asking yourself a million questions, going over every individual comment either of you ever made, every fight you had ... and then being totally sad that every incredible kiss, every shared laugh, every memory made was a mistake.
Here are 13 thoughts you have when you lost the person you thought was the one.
Blaming yourself is one of the easiest things to do. But would the outcome have really changed?
Maybe it would have ... but you're here now and there's no turning back.
Though you're not actually dying, it is comforting to know that studies have indeed confirmed that rejection and physical pain are in the same region of the brain. The pain you are feeling is real. But no, you're not going to die.
Someone you envisioned as "the one" must surely make their way back into your life like the hour and 30-minute long movie of your favourite love story did.
You think that maybe your personalities and outlooks would have been more in sync.
That love that felt so good was the same love that tore you apart. And now, all you can worry about is that you had your chance and now it has passed. You'll be lonely forever.
Love makes you do foolish things ... like drugs. And from a chemical point of view in your brain, being in love is like being on drugs.
Your partner wouldn't have put themselves in the way of all the things love entails if they didn't indeed love you.
And it might be, for a moment. But you will get back up and have hope once again.
Loving someone is never a waste. All of that experience is a learning lesson.
Like mentioned above, it's a drug. It feels good, and then it doesn't. That's just the way it goes sometimes.
You won't feel this way forever. And when the thought of actually touching another human comes into play, don't you dare fight it.
Don't focus on that. Work on you and what you can do to feel better instead.
Can you relate to any of these?
