3 Workout Hacks for Busy Moms

I know sometimes it is difficult to get a complete workout in especially when you have children.  Sometimes you just need to get it in when you can.  Below are three easy workout hacks that will help you burn some calories on those days when life just won’t allow you to get in a workout.
  • Wall Sit while brushing your teeth: You already are “supposed” to be brushing for the allotted 2 minutes that the Dentist recommends so why not break that up into three 30 second wall sits with a 10 second break in between.  Wall Sits strengthen your hamstrings, glutes and quadriceps.

  • Wall Push-ups while cooking: While you are waiting on that microwave to ding, or the water to boil face one of your walls and assume a push-up position.  Do push-ups for the entire time the microwave is going or for 3 sets of 15-20 while you are cooking.  Push-ups are a great total body exercise and you don’t have to be down on the ground for them to be effective.


  • Chair ab lifts. While seated in a chair, place both hands beside your legs and lift your body off of the chair.  Hold for 5 seconds, (or as long as you can) while contracting your abs.  If you are unable to lift yourself then raise your legs and bring them up in a leg lift. This works both your upper and lower abs as well as your triceps.
