30 Day Challenge: Day 8

January 31, 2014 2 min read

Day 8 This morning when I woke up my calves and my Achilles were so sore. I’m not sure why both of my Achilles tendons were bothering me but I knew that today’s workout was going to be difficult because of it. I usually wake up with tons of energy and vigor for life, but this morning I woke up sluggish and tired, I hadn’t slept well and I could tell already it was affecting my attitude. I had oatmeal for breakfast and then had a dentist appointment, my morning just got worse from then on, I found out I had a couple cavities and one needed to be worked on right away. I was now in a foul mood and it was time to do my work out. It was Melissa’s day so I knew it was going to be intense and I was right. Instead of the 10 second rest we did “mountain climbers” in-between each move. We only had four moves today but each one of them was challenging in their own way. The hardest move for me was “180 degree ninja tuck jumps,” this move was difficult and I was sweating as soon as it started. This move sort of bothered my knees because they are still sore from the other day but I struggled through it. The last round of this workout was tiring and I almost didn’t make it, my boyfriend cheered me on and without his support I’m not sure if I would have finished. At the end of this workout I dropped to the floor and was out of breath, I was sweating profusely and I had to give props to Melissa. This was the hardest workout I have done so far in this challenge and I enjoyed pushing myself.  My mood improved after completing my workout and my day continued to get better, a good workout always seems to be a mood elevator for me. Here’s to day 9 :)
