Oh man! I am not even sure where to start. [caption id="attachment_38728" align="aligncenter" width="400"] Mid-run photo...no one looks right at the camera[/caption] The Workout...well, I was going to do both. Tonight was my running groups' "Flash Run." 3.85 miles, 31 degrees in our reflective best (and my kids had wings on to boot) for a glorious night run. When I read what videos were posted for tonight I was excited; I love switching things up. However, I have to admit I was not a fan of Brooke and her dance. I hesitated to write this because I don't want to tear anyone down for being brave enough to do what Brooke did tonight. Honestly, I don't know if she was nervous or what but it was so boring. The dance seemed like something the cool girls thought up in high school in to make the other girls jealous. I don't mind the sexy moves - she's hot, works hard for it...please show it off. (I am all about being proud!) Maybe I was thrown off by the format change. Lets say its just me being uncomfortable with my body and dancing around in my workout clothes. I would love to see another dance thrown into our workouts with someone else and maybe better choreography. (I would also love to see Brooke lead a workout...maybe I missed it. Has she lead one before?) YOGA!!!!! I have been needing a great stretch session. I have been wanting to try some yoga AND gentle stretch yoga was recently recommended to me for post run relaxation. Needless to say this was just what I needed. I was a little intimidated as I watched through the video the frist time - Teisha is one bendy lady. I got over it and immediately felt bendy myself! All in all I have to say this was an interesting switch in format. I welcome it. Lets try it again sometime. Food...Oh! Today was a test and a triumph. #1 my new heart rate monitor is helping me eat more and make better choices. (Unfortunately I forgot to run it tonight). I wasn't eating enough. Yesterday I burned almost 1,000 calories and my app was only estimating about 600 calories for the same workout. I feel so much better. #2 One of my favorite things I learned from Bodyrock and the trainers is to pair my carbs around to workouts. I feel so good. #3 Water is so good...lemon water is better. Anyway, what did I eat, you are asking? (Get to it already!!!) Breakfast was a smoothie (treat breakfast for the week): Protein powder, 1/4 cup greek yogurt, 1/3 cup frozen pineapple, 1/3 cup frozen cherries and ice. Lunch: 1/2 small avocado, 4.5 oz garlic/herb chicken breast with 2 cups of stir fry blend veggies and balsamic vinegar. Dinner: Salad with roasted tomato vinaigrette and baby tomatoes, 4.5 oz chicken bake (baked chicken with breaded crust) and 6 oz mashed potatoes. They brought in donuts at the office today. I literally had one bite of a maple bar from my coworker. It was enough to taste and walk away. Also, I slipped up but I am okay with that. When I came home tonight from my run, I was starving. I started cooking dinner and 15 minutes into washing dishes and moving food and getting the kids in the shower I stopped thinking. I reached into a bag of french bread with butter and had two slices before I thought about whether or not it should go in my mouth. I didn't have time to make my no-bake energy bites this week. Lesson-learned. Time to move on. What did you think of Day 14?
