At 322lbs, Her Son Was Her Weight Loss Inspiration

At Bodyrock, we LOVE transformation stories because they inspire us to be even better at our jobs. Although Erica has never stated to follow Bodyrock, I couldn't help but share her incredible story with all of you. She is proof that you can make a change, no matter what your circumstance.

Erica told Everyday Health of her turning point:

"My son asked me to play on the floor with him. I was sitting on the couch and the mere thought of getting up, laying down on the floor, and having to pick up the toys was so exhausting that I told him no....That was terrifying. I went to weigh myself and saw 322 pounds on the scale. My heart sank."

Erica stayed motivated throughout (and still does) by tracking her fitness journey on Instagram.

"The hardest workout you'll ever do is in your head. Not with a trainer or fitness guru. It'll be with yourself. It'll be that moment your head and heart say give up and that passion and want inside of you fights back" Screen Shot 2015-04-06 at 5.15.16 PM

"Before, I let the weight define me and my boundaries. Now, I don't. I make the rules."

What does Erica eat? Five egg whites and a whole wheat English muffin for breakfast daily, then a nonfat yogurt as a snack two hours later. For lunch and dinner she has 4 ounces of lean meat, 1/2 cup of a carb and tons of veggies. In the afternoon, she'll snack on sugar-free Jello or 100-calorie popcorn and enjoy a post workout protein shake. Erica believe in practicing moderation - not depriving herself.

Screen Shot 2015-04-06 at 5.14.51 PM Erica also has some awesome advice for those looking to lose weight: "We are moms, wives, daughters — we have enough chores in these roles. We don't need to make what we do for ourselves a chore. Make this fun. It's your time! Learn to make the gym your happy place: Buy a new workout tank; download some new jams; make friends there and think of them as family...... I've learned to be patient about the rest of the weight loss.....Instead of always being down on yourself for how much more you have to go, why don't you look back at all you've already done." Well done Erica! [H/T Yahoo! Health]
