5 of The Worst Foods You Can Eat Late At Night.

February 10, 2015 2 min read

If you ate dinner at 6 p.m. and you’re still up at 11 p.m., it’s natural that you might feel hungry. Contrary to popular belief, eating at night doesn’t make you gain weight—exceeding your daily calorie need does—but there are specific foods that don’t make the best bedtime snacks. 1. Cereal This is most people’s go-to food when they can’t sleep. Not all cereals are bad choices at night, but if you’re eating a high-sugar, low-fiber one, then you’re wreaking havoc with your blood sugar. You’ll likely wake up starving a few hours later or in the morning due to the over-production of insulin the sugar triggers. Instead, try topping non-fat Greek yogurt with a whole-grain, high-fiber cereal (≥4 grams/serving) for a low-sugar, high-protein snack.   Screen Shot 2015-02-10 at 10.38.18 AM   2. Mexican or Thai Food The spices and authentic flavorings may be calling you, but think twice before indulging. The spicy flavors can actually keep you from going to sleep. Not to mention, many ethnic foods are often high in fat and calories, so they can totally sabotage a day of good eating as well as lead to heartburn. If your craving won’t go away, try making a small quesadilla in the skillet using corn tortillas, low-fat cheese, and cooking spray.   Screen Shot 2015-02-10 at 10.40.22 AM 3. Cheeseburger and French Fries How many times have you slipped out to a local Denny's for a burger at 1am? Come on - everyone has done it! Greasy, heavy foods are obviously high in calories and fat, but they also weigh on your stomach and take awhile to digest, leaving you feeling tired and sluggish in the morning. Try to avoid high-fat, greasy foods such as burgers, pizza, and fast-food Chinese. If you need a meal, opt for a small turkey sandwich on whole-grain bread. cheeseburger 4. Chocolate Not only does chocolate have lots of sugar, but it also has caffeine, which may contribute to restless sleep. Chocolate isn’t a filling snack either, so if you’re craving it, you may not necessarily be hungry. Rather, your sweet tooth may be getting to best of you. Try hot tea or a glass of low-fat chocolate milk. For something more filling, opt for a graham cracker with 1 tablespoon of chocolate-hazelnut spread or other nut butter and ½ cup milk. But late at night, even sugar-free diet sodas can keep you awake. The soda’s carbonation can trigger heartburn, as well as upset your stomach. Instead, opt for fat-free or low-fat milk, hot tea, or water before bed. Screen Shot 2015-02-10 at 10.49.02 AM Are you guilty of any of these? What is your favourite bed time snack or meal? Shipping & Delivery

Due to COVID-19, shipping systems the world over are experiencing abnormal delays. There is an enormous demand on postal and delivery services as online shopping has skyrocketed, due to store closures and stay-at-home mandates. This is an unprecedented situation, and we are working around the clock to fulfill your orders as quickly as possible. To be clear, we are filling orders in 4-6 days, and we are shipping immediately after that. Once shipped, our shipping partner, UPS, will get your order out to you as quickly as possible. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Are you in Canada? Specifically, are you outside of a metropolitan centre? We need to alert you to a disruption in shipping due to COVID-19. Our preferred shipping provider, UPS, has informed us that they cannot guarantee express shipping for many locations. We have also seen that packages delivered to Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, etc, are not waylaid, but packages delivered to areas just outside of these cities are being held in transit for days or even weeks. UPS has discontinued their guarantee of 1-4 day delivery, which you can read more about here. Therefore, we can guarantee early fulfillment but not early delivery of our goods from our warehouse to your door at this time.

We want you to start your fitness journey with us as quickly as possible, that’s why we send every package to the USA & Canada via expedited or standard shipping with our partners at UPS. Once your order is received and processed, it typically takes 2-4 days to get to you once it leaves our warehouse. That’s our commitment and we stand by it.

We ship within Canada and the United States via UPS with Standard & Expedited shipping (whichever is faster)

For locations outside of the US and Canada, we ship using FedEx International (EUROPE and Other Nations), which is usually in transit for 7-10 business days, depending on location.

We ship all of our physical products with UPS, from our warehouse location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Delays caused due to custom withholds are not included in these estimated delivery times.

Returns & Exchanges

To request a refund on physical product purchases, please contact us.
