You know how fun, convenient and impactful working out from home can be! But following along with our workouts can be a struggle depending on the space you're dealing with. Here are 6 tips to transforming your living room into the ideal at-home gym and to ensure you're getting the most out of every workout! #1 Don't Get Comfortable We often associate many parts of our home with comfort. So finding an area of your house that doesn't make you want to curl up and watch Netflix is key. Carpeted spaces are something to steer clear of as they make floor work a little too comfy. #2 Know Your Limits You should be able to lie down on the floor of your space and stretch your whole body out, comfortably. You should also be able to take one full sized step in either direction. Keep a heads up about low ceilings if your workout requires jumping or arm stretching. Any workout can be completed in a small space since you can customize it. #3 Find The Perfect Laptop Spot You want to make sure your laptop is in a place where you can see it at all times. If the workout involves both standing and floor work, your best bet is to position your laptop on a low coffee table. #4 Prep, Prep, Prep Don't just lazily enter your workout in your pyjama pants while eating a bowl of cereal. Put on your gear and a pump-up playlist to get in the zone. #5 Enlist A Buddy Working out at home doesn't mean you have to do it alone. Challenge your friends to complete the same workouts and compare notes after through texting or email. This will keep you motivated even if you're doing it technically by yourself. #6 Check Your Form Since you're not physically in a class where they instructor can fix your form, the responsibly is on you. Set up a mirror in your space to keep an eye on how you hit each move. What are your top tips for being successful at online workouts? Share them with us!
