8 DIY Bra Hacks

I wear a bra everyday (or most everyday, depending on if I can get away with a large sweater, or if I spend all day at home in a onesie), and I’m pretty sure a large portion of BodyRockers wear bras too. They can be frilly, they can be supportive, they can be fun, or they can be uncomfortable and awful. Two of my close friends worked at Victoria Secret for a good chunk of time, and on top of getting more bras than I could ever possibly need, I also gleaned some good lingerie info – although Pinterest certainly helps too. Here are some bra hacks that every woman should know:
  1. Use a paper clip to turn any bra into a racerback. I definitely attempted this using a safety pin, with disastrous results.

Simply rip a panty liner into strips and adhere to the hole where the wire is poking out. Or realize that underwire is the work of the devil, and avoid bras that have it. brahacktemporary-broken-undewire-bra-fix 4. Make sure you have the right fit, without having to do complicated measurements. Simply stick your hand in the space between your back and you bra clasp. Two fingers is the perfect give, your whole hand means it’s too loose. Support should come from the band, NOT your straps. 80% of women wear band sizes that are too big for them. brahacksize 5. Use a salad spinner to dry your delicates, it’s faster than air drying (be sure to wash it out before your next salad). 6. Make a strapless bra stay using a removable bra strap. Put on the strapless bra and clip a strap to one side. Wrap it around the front of the bra at the band level and attach it to the other side. bratricks15 7. If you have any low-back dresses, simply wear a bra converter to avoid your bra peeping out. They’re fairly cheap to buy, or you can easily make your own. brahacks3 8. Lastly, and this is more of a tip than a hack, but it was drilled into my head SO much, the cup should cover the full breast tissue. If you try to fit into a smaller cup size, it’ll just end up making your boobs look too big. The way it was explained to me, it’s like skinny jeans – tight with a muffin top vs. a larger size fitting smoothly. Avoid a boob muffin top, and wear the right cup size.
