Are you ready for it? "Getting Over A Breakup 101
" class is in session so take notes!
First, let's get this out of the way: breakups suck. Big time. It can be as devastating as a death or as uncomfortable as going through withdrawls. For real. Love has the same effect on your brain as cocaine. And your heartache? That's real too. As you go through your emotions, you heart rate increases and decreases which cause you pain. Oh there's more. Your brain shares a neural pathway for physical and emotional pain so when you see a picture of your ex, it is pretty much the same as getting kicked in the stomach. So, again, breakups suck.
But don't worry, we've got your cheat sheet right here:
1. Biochemistry 186

3. Psychology of Depression 101
It really is all psychological. The longer you dwell on it, the longer the pain will last. Be sad, mourn your loss. But don't wallow for too long.
4. Social Media 282
Delete your ex from everything. It is hard when you want to keep memories but it is the only way. You don't really want to know where he was 'last seen' on WhatsApp or see who he is adding as friends on Facebook. You just don't.
5. Project Management 206
Keep busy. It is time to focus on you. Start a new hobby or reconnect with your friends. The best part about being single is that you have time to yourself, no one can tell you how to spend it!
6. English Literature 305
To quote Ernest Hemingway, “The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special, too.” You're amazing. You'll be okay. You WILL find someone.
7. Introduction to Philosophy 100
Sometimes, it is the bad things that lead us directly the best things that will ever happen to us. You've got to take the good with the bad and vice versa.
8. Life 400
One day, you will meet your someone. This relationship will show you exactly why it never worked with your ex. You'll have an "ah ha" moment.
So to review, breakups are terrible. Just horrible. They can mess you up in ways you never imagined. But never regret anything. Regret doesn't change anything except to hold you back from a brighter future. Life doesn't get any easier but you will be come stronger and more resilient.
And you never know, the next person you meet could be the one who will always make your heart sing!
