8 Types of Breakups Women Experience In Their Lifetime
Breakups are hard, and anyone who tells you differently hasn't really gone through one to begin with. They stir up so many emotions in such a small amount of time it can be hard to make sense of it all. But when the smoke settles, you come out learning much more about yourself than you had ever anticipated. Whether it be tragic, awkward, funny or downright bizarre, they leave you with stories to tell, and so many lessons learned.
Here are eight of the most common breakup experiences out there. Perhaps you've gone through one of them (if not all).
1. The Text Message Breakup
Sometimes there's just no easy way out of something, and when you feel it ... you just gotta do it. It can seem like an easy cop out, but many people have been broken up with, or done the breaking up, this way. The idea of voice-to-voice communication is all too much to bear, and when someone does this, it's their way of saying that they really don't owe you anything at all. They have no interest in making it work.
2. Getting Ghosted
Definitely the easiest way to call it quits, ghosting someone is straight up rude, but all too common. When this happens to you, your once upon a time person has decided they are too much of a coward to let you know how they're feeling and they disappear from your life for good, without so much as a text, a call or a knock on your door to explain themselves.
3. A Super Quick Goodbye
Perhaps a bit nicer, this one sends the message that they are so not willing to give any more of their time to you. And if you're doing the deed, you might be letting them know that anything they may have of yours can be dropped off at Goodwill, because you can't stand to spend another minute in their presence over a silly bike helmet or book.

4. The Pubic Breakup
This type of breakup is done in public so neither party can freak out. In the line at Starbucks? Really? They were that concerned you might melt down. At least your latte still awaits.
5. The Bad Timing Type
So they did it a week before your birthday, when the two of you had plans to jet off to Wine Country for a weekend filled with romance. As much as it hurts, it's never really good timing. Christmas is always around the corner, as is Valentine's Day. I guess when someone just isn't feeling it anymore, they can't fake it.
6. Behind Your Back With the BFF
Um. RUDE. This one is pure betrayal, and totally painful. While it may seem like the two of them were simply out to ruin your life, it can happen and have nothing to do with wanting to hurt you. How do you get through this type of breakup, however? Mourning the loss of both your BF and your BFF is tough, but you'll come out stronger someway somehow.
7. The Fade Out
We've all probably had this one happen. The chemistry starts to go, but neither party is prepared to fess up to it, so they both just slowly let the phone calls and hangouts dissipate.
8. The "My Life Is Too Busy Right Now" Excuse
This is the easiest way of saying that, “It’s not you, it’s me.” It's much easier for the person feeling the lack of commitment to make it about work and other happenings, as opposed to facing the fact that they're just not that into you.
Have you ever been through any of these types of breakups?
