Angelina Jolie Reveals Her Thoughts on Going Through Menopause
There are a variety of side effects both mentally as well as physically that come along with menopause. From hot flashes, night sweats, irregular periods and loss of libido to mood swings, memory lapses, depression and anxiety, its no wonder it doesn't always come with a positive connotation. But one celebrity is out to change that.
Angelina Jolie opened up to The Daily Telegraph that she is going through early menopause as a result of the surgical removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes in March. And contrary to what one might expect her to say on the subject, she says she's happy with it.

“I actually love being in menopause,” she revealed to the Telegraph. “I haven’t had a terrible reaction to it, so I’m very fortunate. I feel older, and I feel settled being older. I feel happy that I’ve grown up. I don’t want to be young again.”
Her latest surgery came after her preventive double mastectomy, which the actress had back in 2013. Both were the result of a blood test which revealed she had an 87 percent chance of getting breast cancer, which, in addition to ovarian cancer, caused the death of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, at only 56 years old.
“It was another one of those things in life that makes you tighter,” Angelina's husband, Brad Pitt, said on the Today show. “She was doing [the surgeries] for her kids and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.”
